Hey Everyone, I'm sooooo sorry for the long update so please forgive me! Before you show up on my front porch with torches and pitchforks (Flashback to the scene from Beauty and the Beast) please realize I had some MAJOR issues in real life. So enough with this drama, let's continue.
Hours in Flight: 2
When the movie was over, everyone sat quietly for a while, just content to do nothing. After a half hour passed with no one in the group saying anything, Sally finally sighed and said, "Well someone better think of something to do before we all fall asleep, heaven forbid."
"Well, we could tear up some old dossiers, on wanted criminals and match the names to the faces," Holley suggested, holding up a file.
"Yeah, no thanks," Sid called from the back, "I have to look at those for weeks on end I would win that game in about three seconds."
"Okay then" Holley rolled her eyes, "What do you suggest?"
It was silent for a few minutes, the only sound being that of the other passengers and the hum of the engines until Mater said, "How about I Spy?"
"Well, better then nothing," Lightning mumbled.
"I'll go first!" Mater called, "I spy something white!"
"Finn's laptop?" Sally guessed.
"The blanket that old lady is using across the aisle?" Finn predicted.
"The clouds outside?" Sid pointed.
"You got it Sid! Who's next?"
"I'll do it!" Lightning called, "I spy something that can take many shapes,"
"That little girl's Play-Dough?" Sally wondered.
Mater though for a moment before calling, "A pillow!"
"How does a pillow take more then one shape?" Finn wondered.
"Well, when you sleep on it, it does!"
After several more guesses, Lightning finally revealed that a cloud was the answer
When Finn's turn finally rolled around, even though he worded it like only he could, the answer still turned out to be a cloud.
"Well, you'd think that of the five hundred things on this plane that everyone wouldn't pick the same one!" Sid sighed, resting his head back.
"Holley, my two hours expires in approximately thirty minutes just so you know." Finn interjected suddenly.
"All right Finn, you can have your pen back early. Only because I'm feeling nice." Sally handed it over.
"Thanks ever so much because if this is what you call social interaction, I'd rather to paperwork."
"So would I Finn, so would I."
So I'm going to try to take a little nap anyone with me?" Lightning announced.
"I think I will," everyone, except for Finn, said at the same time.
As Lightning settled back into his chair, the humming of the jet engines lulling him to sleep.
As soon as he fell asleep, Lightning found himself dreaming that he was in the English countryside on a gloomy afternoon. The scenery was stunning. Green hill full of wildflowers rolled as far as the eye could see with small farms tucked into the valleys. As he walked along the dirt roads, the clouds grew darker and darker until it started to rain. Opening his umbrella, he continued his walk. Suddenly a cold drop hit his head. Looking up he found there was a small hole in his umbrella and the water was able to drip through. As the rain picked up, so did the stream of water that was now trickling down the back of his neck. Then it struck him, the water felt so real yet this was a dream. All of a sudden, several giggles floated through the dream to him. As the dream faded, the water didn't. When Lightning finally opened his eyes, he found Sally grinning from ear to ear as she dripped water from her bottle onto his head while the others looked on.
"Oh for Pete's sake!" he wiped the water out of his eyes, "Why couldn't you just let me sleep!?"
"Sorry Lightning, they dared me to do it!" Sally apologized.
Groaning, Lightning held his head in his hands. Oh boy, he thought, if this keeps up this will be the most miserable flight I've ever been on!
So I hope you guys like it and I promise I won't let the period between updates be so long next time, it's just the muse wasn't talking to me on this one.
See Ya Later Alligator!
