Chapter Three: Info Dump

"But I'm so tired," whined LSD, whose eyes were now filled with tears.

"Stop complaining and get your ass off the ground," Nicole said back harshly.

As the Sue picked herself from the ground, Nicole started to question the sanity of her teacher, Mr. Coin. She had thought that Mr. Coin would terminate the Sue after the questioning, but instead, he wanted Nicole to take the cliche daughter of Artemis to classroom 101, where the Sue would begin her Sue-Slaying training. Oh the irony.

When the Sue finally got up to a walking stance, she and Nicole continued their trek to their destination. It wasn't before long that the two of them were staring at a maple door with the bronze numerals "101".

"What are we here for?" asked the Sue.

"You are here for your first lesson in hunting Sues," shot the seriously annoyed Sue Slayer.

"What the Hades! Is this another of your tricks, Slayer? If you haven't noticed, I AM A FREAKING SUE!" screamed the Sue loudly, especially at the last few words.

"I KNOW!" yelled back Nicole, "BUT I'M NOT THE ONE WHO DECIDES YOUR DAMN FATE!"

The Slayer quickly stormed away, a bit embarrassed that she was shouting at a poorly-written character.

Luna Shining Diamond glared at Nicole's retreating back before turning back to the door that led to her designated destination.

For some reason, she couldn't help but feel that she should have been able to better handle the situation with the two Slayers back there. Neither the old Slayer nor Nicole had been sympathetic to her after she cried, and ten minutes beforehand, Nicole had not been charmed by her charismatic personality nor had she been impressed when Luna told her that she was the only child of the virgin goddess, Artemis.

But maybe it wasn't entirely her fault. The Slayers were such huge, ugly assholes that Luna would not be surprised they couldn't recognize kindness and charm even if they slapped the Slayers in the face. Or perhaps, they were simply envious that Luna, and not they, possessed those positive traits. After all, Mabel Margaret Aerith Lane, her fellow and only Sue friend, had warned her about how mean and evil the Slayers were to the Sues.

Speaking of Mabel, Luna hoped she was okay. Mabel had met Luna yesterday in Manhattan. They had quickly became friends because Luna had no memories and Mabel had no friends. To Luna's amazement, Mabel was a beautiful and fascinating girl who was almost as charming as Luna was. In fact, Luna could still remember her introduction like it was yesterday.

"Hi, I'm Mabel Margaret Aerith Lane, and I'm a seventeen year-old daughter of Hestia. The only one in fact, hee hee! My dad died when I was young, and I was then raised by chipmunks who took me as one of their own. They taught me how to fight monsters and how to use a knife! Oh, and I also have absolute control over fire! How cool is that! I am also very beautiful but my beauty is actually a curse and is not worth the trouble it brings. What about you?"

Ah, such good times.

Breaking out of her daydream, Luna looked around the hallway and realized that she was utterly alone. She could run away now and no one would ever notice.

But another thought entered her head. She was just starting to regain her memories, and she really needed to find out who that green-eyed boy from her past was. Perhaps the damn Slayers had some machine that will help her remember. Besides, if any Slayer happened to catch her trying to escape, there was no guarantee her amazing personality and kindness would save her.

That was when Luna decided to push open the door and walk into the room beyond. There was only one person in the room and she was sitting on the teacher's desk, reading a book. She looked to be around thirty-years old and was wearing a jacket on top of a green T-shirt and jeans. Said person looked up when Luna walked into the room.

"Sorry, I believe I don't have a class right now," the red-head woman said.

"I was sen-" started Luna, but she was interrupted by a ringing that seemed to have come from the red-head. The instructor held up a finger to Luna before taking a phone from inside her jacket and answering it.

"Mr. Coin?" said the instructor, "Yeah, I have a trainee here that arrived too early. Oh, you mean that girl is Project Fire? This is going to be very interesting, Coin. I will call you back after the lesson."

The red-head put her phone back to the inside of her jacket and turned her attention back to Luna. The way the woman's green eyes stared at her made Luna feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Well," initiated the instructor, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Ms. Dare, but you may call me Rachel."

"Um, I'm Luna," stammered back LSD.

Rachel kindly smiled at her. "That isn't exactly your full name, isn't it. Mr. Coin said that your full name was Luna Shining Diamond."

Luna blushed; now that she thought about it, her full name sounded really stupid. She wondered how she got such a ridiculous name.

"That's okay, Luna," comforted the red-head, "My full name is Rachel Elizabeth Dare. It sounds almost as silly as yours,"

Luna smiled; she liked this Slayer. She wasn't anything like the other bitch, Nicole. With some luck, maybe she would be able to gain Rachel's sympathy with her charisma and affection and make an ally out of her.

"Please take a seat," Rachel said politely.

Luna complied with her command. After all, she needed to please Rachel for her plan to work.

"Okay," said Rachel, "I first need to assess your knowledge. I know it's going to be hard for you especially, but please tell me everything you know about this world."

"Um, the Olympian gods exist in this world and sometimes interbreed with mortals and have children like me, who are called demigods," answered Luna.

"So you know everything about the Greek mythology that exists in this world?" asked Rachel.

"All of it," Luna said back proudly.

"Tell me what you know about the Sues and Slayers that exist in this world," quickly shot Rachel.

"I only know that there are people like me, who are Sues, and are hunted by your group, the Slayers," answered Luna slowly, still thinking about what Mabel told her about the Slayers.

"Anything else?" asked Rachel.

"Just that the Sues are better-looking than the Slayers," said Luna, determined not to piss off Rachel by regurgitating Mabel's opinion of the Slayers.

Rachel smiled. "Fair point, Luna, but appearance is just one part in defining the types of people that exist in this world."

The instructor cleared her throat before asking, "Do you believe in a Creator, Luna?"

"Do you mean Prometheus?" answered the Sue.

"No, Luna," said Rachel patiently, "I mean someone who created our universe. Someone who created the characters of Greek Mythology and most of the new demigods and mortals that currently exist in this world."

"This Creator isn't a part of Greek Mythology, is he?" inquired Luna.

"He isn't," agreed Rachel, "We only know him by his initials, which consist of two R's."

"So he created our entire universe and also created this planet, along with most of its inhabitants," repeated Luna, "But what do you mean by most of its inhabitants?"

"I would get to that later, Luna," said Rachel, "For now, remember that the characters that were directly or indirectly created by the Creator are called canon characters."

"Do you know any canon characters?" asked Luna.

Rachel gave a sad look to her and said, "I know that I am; most of my friends in my past were canon characters."

"Oh, I'm sorry about that," apologized Luna, "Did they pass away?"

"No, they are still alive," answered Rachel darkly.

Luna was confused by Rachel's answer, but decided not to question any further.

"To answer your first question, Luna," said Rachel after an awkward silence, "Some of the inhabitants, such as the Sues and the Slayers, were created by other creators although these creators were less powerful than the One that created this universe."

"Why do these lesser creators want to create characters in the One's universe in the first place?" asked Luna.

Rachel smiled once more. "I don't know, but I believe that they want to add to the One's universe in order to amuse themselves."

"So what does this have to do with the Slayers and the Sues?" asked Luna.

"Everything," said Rachel, "The Slayers and Sues are types of characters made by the lesser creators. Characters that are constructed by the lesser creators are called original characters or OCs for short."

"So that means almost every Slayer here was created by a lesser, correct?" said Luna.

"Yes," said Rachel, "Just like almost every Sue was."

There was still one question bugging Luna.

"What's the difference between a Slayer OC and a Sue OC?" she asked.

There was a moment of silence as Rachel's face slowly turned solemn and a bit wary.

"A Mary Sue is a character that is perfect in almost every way. He or she has no flaws and usually has a special name and powerful abilities that define his or her uniqueness. Mary Sues devastate the balance of the world because they are able to manipulate other characters and situations into their favor with their unnatural abilities, many times uncaring and/or unknowing about the destruction they've caused. These types of OCs are usually created by a lesser who wants to insert herself to the One's universe."

Luna was shocked at her teacher's definition of a Mary Sue. She had no idea how much destruction she and the other Sues could do to the world.

Luna denied this fact at first. After all, it was possible that Rachel was probably misinformed about the Sues, no doubt the result of interacting with other, more biased Sue Slayers. A feeling of shame suddenly rose in her body. Wasn't she planning to use her charm and kindness to exploit Rachel into becoming her ally despite the thoughtfulness Rachel showed her?

Rachel analyzed Luna's face for a while before continuing, "Slayer OCs are the answers to the Mary Sue OCs. Some of the lesser creators disliked their peers' poorly written characters and created some original characters whose main purpose was to terminate any Mary Sue that existed in this world."

All this time, Luna had thought that the Slayers were unmerciful to the Sues because they were evil and cruel, but now, she knew better. Luna stared at her hands as if she couldn't believe that they were part of something destructive. Them, she started to cry again...for the fifty-fifth time.

"It's okay, Luna," comforted Rachel who was patting her back, "You are with the Slayers now. You can help us undo the damage your kin has caused to the One's world."

"Thanks, Rachel," Luna sniffed.

They just sat there, waiting for the raindrops to stop falling and for the sun to come back.

Finally, when Luna was done crying, Rachel said, "I think you had have enough mental education; let's go to the gym."

"What for?" asked Luna

Rachel smiled at her. "To see how well you do with weapons."
