Generation of Miracles vs. Uncrowned Kings (Kuroko no Basket Fan Fiction)
Quarter 2 – Come Back!
Although in their last string of strength, Koichi was able to pull the last trick. Kagami took the ball and went directly for the basket. However, with Mitobe's defense, he was able to stall and stop Kagami. It was a desperate move from their senpais as Koganei goes behind and steals the ball. It was only back then that the benchwarmers were still developing their skills, but they are comparable to the best players of the team now.
Izuki was able to get the ball and passed the ball.
"It's not yet over!" says Hyuuga as he took the ball from Izuki's pass. His accurate three point shot ended the score with 42 – 40.
"We were close to winning! Hyuuga-senpai and Kiyoshi-senpai seems to be at fire today…" says Furihata as he rests and looked at his first year team mates.
"You can say it's because Kiyoshi-senpai is going on a very different type of game. Not to mention he's on an all-out battle with the Generation of Miracles…" replied Koichi. Kuroko silently listened to his teammates as they discussed about the coming match. He knows the power of his former teammates. Kagami seems to have felt the pressure that Kiyoshi and the other Uncrowned Kings would bear when the match starts. Not only will Kiyoshi be forced to play with Hanamiya but also their rematch with Murasakibara.
"Kuroko-kun, do you think the other Uncrowned Kings and Kiyoshi-senpai would have a chance against the Generation of Miracles?" asked Furihata. Although the answer seems to be obvious enough for Kuroko, he knew that the other Uncrowned Kings are also talented. At first, he assessed that the Generation of Miracles would overpower the Kings, but seeing how the Kings actually play, it's hard to decide.
"It's hard to say, Furihata-kun. We witnessed how fearsome the Uncrowned Kings are. Sure, Akashi-kun would surely think a way to defeat them, but with Kiyoshi-senpai and the others, it's clearly a much anticipated match."
"Moreover, that Mibuchi Reo's shots are as equal to Midorima's. I don't want to face that guy again..." added Kagami. He remembered how Reo defeated Hyuuga in their match with Rakuzan. He thought that all their titles were just a fluke, but after witnessing how good they were, he knew that Reo is a real deal.
"But to be honest, I do not want to see Kiyoshi-senpai and that Hanamiya together. It's like they're rivals!" says Furihata.
"I think Hanamiya-san has already decided that it's going to be a lot easier if he lets his heart out and play this match fairly with the others. The way I see it, Kiyoshi-senpai and Hanamiya-san would be the best combi," explains Kuroko as they all returned to their mark. They need to score against their senpais!
"I know you're better than me, Izuki-senpai. But we have to take this lead!" Kawahara smiled as he is marked by Izuki on offense. He knew that with Izuki's Eagle Eye and Eagle Spear, it would be not much of a trick to pull out a drive. He remembered his secret training with Kagetora. He must take this lead!
He went to a reverse crossover, but guided by his Eagle Eye, Izuki quickly attempts to stop it, but Kawahara changed his pace and returned an Iverson cross. Izuki was amazed how he was able to change his pace that quickly. It was like facing Hayama, but still, he can catch up with him.
"That's quick!" said Izuki, as he transcends to see Kawahara running for a fast break already. It was a quick drive, catching up with him would be impossible without Kiyoshi or Hyuuga to mark him on return. Before Kawahara was able to reach the 3 point line, Mitobe was already there to mark him. He was not fazed by this as he steps back and tries to shoot a three.
Kawahara knew that Mitobe would catch up to him, as he sees his senpai jumps, he quickly returned on his crossover and changed pace, running through the free throw line and shoots. It was a clean shot and went it.
"F-fake!?" exclaimed Riko, as she sees how quickly Kawahara faked the first shot.
Although he was just passed and tired, Mitobe smiled over Kawahara's development. He never realized how they were just beginners back then, they who promised to be one of Seirin's member.
"I-I…. did it!" shouted Kawahara as he returns on for defense and cheers for his team. Furihata and Koichi are inspired by this, as they have to be more careful of their senpais' attack. Kuroko was secretly amazed too, how his friends are now able to be on par with their senpais.
Current Score: First Years – 42, Second Years – 43
"This is bad…let's return the score!" points Izuki and looks at Hyuuga. It's a signal for him to be doing the score. It would be a round of threes.
It was rather a bland development as Izuki passes to Hyuuga. Koichi quickly marks him for defense, but was rather quickly overturned by Hyuuga's Barrier Jumper. No matter how Koichi sees it, he still can't keep up with their captain.
Kuroko quickly passes the ball to Kagami on after the shot. They must take it back. Kagami quickly passes Kiyoshi and Mitobe marking him and dunks from the free throw line. Although they are short for 1 point, they must steal this ball to get the lead.
Izuki passed the ball to Kiyoshi, who changed positions with him. Kiyoshi is now the point guard. "Alright, let's keep this going. Let's take the lead higher. Let's have fun!" he calmly guided. All of them are surely calm, as they are now eager to take another point.
"This is hard, now that Kiyoshi-senpai is the point guard, I have to be a lot careful!"says Kawahara in his mind. He knows that unlike Izuki, his offensive power is a lot stronger. But he must think of a way, no matter what. However, it was not effective. Kiyoshi quickly fakes a dribble and stops his pace. Kiyoshi turns his place on the three point lane. Kawahara quickly returns to mark him, but that fake delayed him from stopping Kiyoshi to shoot. Although it was a rough shot to be called, the three went in. the gap is slowly turning high and the second years are in lead.
"H-he can really shoot threes?" says Kagami. He knew that Kiyoshi can shoot threes during the Yosen match, but he never knew he can also do that out of desperation. They must be more careful now. This is the first time he had a practice match that he can feel the pressure same as the ones they had during the Seiho and Shutoku matches.
"Don't mind, Kawahara-kun. Let's take it back!" consoled Furihata. To be honest, he has to think of a way to return the score. If they can't return it now, they'll become stocked with the score and the gap will be going higher. They'll surely lose!
Furihata faces Izuki this time. He has to change mark with Kawahara. Although Izuki's pressure is not that of like Akashi's, Furihata can still feel the strong pressure. He quickly passes the ball to Koichi.
"It's time to show what I can do!" says Koichi as he fully plays on offense!
