His name was Scorpius, and she might have to punch him.

Scorpius didn't speak to her for most of Christmas holiday. In fact, she was nearly certain that he was refraining from saying anything to her. And yet, every time she found herself near him, he'd accidentally touch her, accidentally brush her. She was quite aware that he was doing it on purpose, trying to get a rise out of her. What she wasn't certain of was why. Her father had agreed to let her be friends with Scorpius, so why was he messing things up?

She decided to confront Albus about it, seeing as Al had become one of Scor's closest pals. "Albus Severus, I demand that if you know anything about why Scorpius Malfoy won't keep his hands to himself, then-," she said as she burst into his room at the Burrow, but she quickly was stopped in her tracks as she looked around the room and found not only Al, but Hugo, Lily, James and Scorpius all sitting in the room. Instead of waiting for any sort of answer, she turned and left the room as quickly as she could, absolutely certain that her face was ten shades of red. Why was she letting this get to her?

This was absolutely insane. He had no right to be playing this stupid game at all. She'd only just properly became friends with him at least only a month and a half ago. And she ignored him for a good chunk of that bit as well. She wanted to be his friend again, but now he was acting so annoyingly. Did he honestly believe that messing with her would get her to want to be his friend again? Honestly, what had he been thinking when he came up with this plan?

So, Rose decided to do something rash. Two could play this game, Scorpius Malfoy. Two could definitely play this game.

Her name was Rose, and she certainly wasn't ignoring him.

It had been only a few hours since Rose had burst into Al and his' guest room at the Burrow, demanding answers for what Scorpius was doing, and suddenly, he was well aware that she was trying to get back at him. Every time he found himself around her, instead of usually bumping into her, or messing with her, she was doing it to him. The first time she did it, he narrowed his eyes at her, and she just grinned up at him. So, she wanted to play, did she?

Instead of avoiding him, she was around him constantly, and nearly always sitting right next to him. Their arms would be touching, their legs would be touching, knee to knee, as close as possible. Scorpius was many things, that he knew, but he certainly wasn't stupid. Rose had picked up on his little game, and she wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. So, he would always take it the slightest bit farther. He'd put an arm around the back of her shoulder, not touching her, but forcing her into his side, just to see what sort of reaction he could get. She always tried to keep a face of composure, but he could always tell that she was getting increasingly frustrated with his actions. Nothing she did could phase him. The goal of this little game was to get her to stop avoiding him, to make sure she couldn't ignore him, and the fact that she was now a player in the game only made everything run smoother.

It was near the end of holiday, and all of the group had been gathered around, when Rose finally looked him in the eyes and said, "Why are you messing with me?"

He couldn't help but laugh. "Because you've been ignoring me, and I don't know what I've done. I figured that I could not be ignored if I did not let myself be ignored." He responded, slightly shrugging his shoulders.

She looked like she was just about ready to kill him. "Really? That's what this was all about? Because I ignored you?" She said, glaring at him. "I'd already decided to stop ignoring you when you started being nonstop touchy-feely with me!"

He smirked and rolled his eyes. "While that may be so, Rose, I just wanted to make sure that you were aware that I do not like being avoided by you, and if you try to do so again without letting me know as to why you're doing it, then I will find a way to make you stop." He stated. "Apparently touching your bum is a nice way to get you to stop ignoring me, was I right in thinking so?" Her eyes widened immediately at that, which only caused him to burst into a fit of laughter.

"Oy, you two! What's so funny over there?" He heard Al shout from across the room, but he was too far gone, laughing like a fool, as Rose smacked his arm. "Rosie, no need for violence!"

His name was Scorpius, and she loved that name.

When they returned to Hogwarts, she had decided to be on friendly terms with Scorpius again. Yet every time they were together, all she could think about was his arm around her shoulder, or their bodies pressed tightly together, both of them as close as could be. Darn Scorpius ruined everything. She just would have to find new ways to get him out of her head. Every time someone even mentioned him though, and immediately she could feel the slightest smile finding its way to her face. He drove her crazy even when he wasn't around.

Even just hearing his name would make her happy. Every time she heard his name, it felt like all the times she had previously had crushes and how she had just liked them so much that even the mention of their name could bring such stupid happy thoughts into her mind. She didn't want to fancy Scorpius, she really didn't, but he was just so…him. He was this beautiful mix of light and dark, happy and brooding, intelligent and yet so utterly dumb. He was constant contradictions, every new thing she learned about him was another adventure.

She really, really, really did not want to fancy him. He was making that unbelievably difficult, and he had no idea. He had no idea that she felt so strongly about him, and she certainly didn't want him finding out any time soon. But she was Rose Weasley, and things never liked going her way.

"Rose!" She heard as she was strolling down a corridor. It was the first week of April, and she was on her way to class. She quickly turned to find blaring platinum blonde hair and grey eyes, her best friend jogging down the corridor to catch her. She internally scolded herself for noticing how good he looked today. "Hello, Miss Rose Weasley, how are you today?" He said with a smile as he stopped in front of her.

She rolled her eyes and sighed. "I'm fine, Scor." She said as she continued down the corridor, Scorpius at her side. "How are you?"

"Actually, quite well, but I could be better." He replied, staring down at her. Seriously, how tall was he? Was he always towering over her like this? "Now, Rose, in order for my day to become the absolute best that it can be, I'm going to need you to do something for me." He stated, which caused her to stop in her tracks.

"Er, alright, what do you need?" She asked. Now, she was definitely curious.

"Go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend." He said with a smile. He wasn't asking her to go whatsoever; she was fairly certain he didn't want to give her the option of saying no.

She just rolled her eyes and sighed at him again, "Scor, we go together every time, of course I'll be going with you." She said, because he was seriously being so daft.

But he only just rolled his eyes back at her. "Rose, it appears that you have mistaken me. I am aware that we have gone on Hogsmeade trips together. This time, however, would be different." She just stared at him, confused. Where was he going with this? "Rose, I'm trying to ask you on a date."
