The telephone blared and woke Spike Witwicky from his afternoon nap.
"Witwicky Motor Repairs. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"
"Spike, it's me. Constance. Look, I've got an audition for the Limp Lizards today, you-know-who needed a sitter, and I can't make it to Isaac's place."
"Connie Montgomery, you little minx. You want m-"
"It's Sari we're talking about. You can watch her for this afternoon."
"I don't do kids. Try Chip."
"He's out of town. Look, if things go wrong, try taking her to the EMP Museum. Talk to you later."
Spike hung up and sighed.
Note to self- pay Isaac ASAP. That way, neither Connie nor I have to watch his kid anym-
The intercom buzzed.
"Yeah?"
"Spike, get your keister down to the garage! We got one!"
"On my way, Dad. What's the scoop?"
"Twentysomething blond in an RV with a Massachusetts license plate."
"On my way."
Spike let his finger off the intercom button and proceeded downstairs.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Yes, I am aware that most Transformers fans do not care about and in more than a few cases actively despise the squishy humans. That being said, I think I've pulled off human/Transformer interactions pretty well in Musical Illusionists and The Evil Below, so I'm fairly confident this is going to work. Also, I'm trying to go with the interpretation of "humans help Transformers interact with Earth culture/societal norms" as was depicted in Transformers Animated.
And before anyone asks, I'm still undetermined on whether this version of Sari is techno-organic or just a normal human being. It could probably go either way at this point. As for the Transformers themselves, you'll get your giant robot fights sooner rather than later. This is just setting up the human characters.
