So, how's it going, as you can see, new chapter! This one takes place later, by a couple months, skipping the lonely Christmas and new years, like, the day before entrance exams. A few timeskips in this one, nothing major, just by a few days. Now, just to fill in some shit, he does good on test to get into hero school, but doesn't want to, as to why, he's got really weird ideals. He keeps being a D.J and doing everyday things… soo yeah. Anyways, Enjoy!

Chapter 3: Ideals

I'm standing on the train, holding onto a handle. I'm with Hon, we're heading to a gig we got, We're heading to Musutafu, which is pretty close, but far enough for us to be able to spend the night, our clients must have thought we lived farther. We'll have two performances, so we'll be staying at a hotel, paid for. We're about ten minutes away, So I'm just doing random shit on my phone. We got our bags and helmets, I think we're good, it'd suck if not.

"Hey, Arnold." Hon says.

"What?"

"Ya know Musutafu is the home of U.A-"

"Nope."

"You didn't let me finish."

"I know what you're going to say, and no, I'm not going to go to the entrance exam."

"But-"

"I know you want to go there, but I don't. I'm going to be a D.J full time out of high school."

"You say that, but your actions say otherwise."

"I just happened to be there, and that was like, six months ago."

"Well you went out of your way, didn't you?"

"No, I just had to go down that road." I'm lying, obviously, but he doesn't know this. I really don't want to be a hero.

"Why were you even in that district?"

"No reason, I just felt like taking a walk through there."

"But why would you have to if you were just taking a walk?"

"He's got you there."

'Fuck off.'

Fortunately for me, the train starts to slow and I hear a Ding! Sound. We've arrived.

We quickly rush off the train and get out of the station. When we get outside, I take a deep breath, and say:

"Still smells like Ozone."

Hon laughs and says:

"Ahh, come on it's not too bad, we could be in Hong Kong." I shudder at the thought. I really enjoy fresh air, and Hong kong is NOT fresh air.

"Yeah, I suppose…"

"Well, Let's go check in to the Hotel. We have about three hours until 8, We'll drop our stuff off and hit the town. See what they've got."

"Sounds like a plan."

"Hell, we could even see-"

"Ain't happening."

"Stop being so attentive."

I shrug and say:

"It's in my assholeish nature."

We start to walk to the hotel, which wasn't far. We check in and carefully hide our stuff around the room, if someone breaks in, It'll suck for us. We put our helmets and my launchpads in the heater, which was rather easy for us to do, it wasn't a super expensive one. We walk back out and decide to check out the place we'll be playing at. Or rather, the places, It's odd for clients to book two nights in a row at different places, but I won't question it, We're being paid a lot for it. We get to the first place and find it's an abandoned warehouse, We go in and find there's a lot of sound and echoproofing in there.

"This is gonna be sick." Hon says. I'm not so sure though, although there is a huge screen on one of the walls, which we could project random shit on.

"Hey! Who are you!?" I hear a man's voice call. I turn around and Hon Jumps. He doesn't take sudden jumpscares like that too well.

The man is kinda short, with black hair and orange eyes. He has a voice that doesn't fit his face, if you know what I mean.

"Ahh, we're just coming through." I say

"Oh, are you coming to the party later, cause it doesn't start till 9"

"Yeah man totally." Hon says, bouncing back from his stupor.

"Well, we got some underground DJs coming, some of their tracks are really good. They've got a rather large following, Of about ten thousand people, so a few people here might know them."

"Interesting, Well, we'll see if we know them, See ya." I say as I start to leave.

"Very good then, If you know people, then tell them about the party, the more the merrier!" he calls out to us as we leave.

"That was close." Hon said

"Yeah, I think we'll just find out where the other place is when it comes to it."

"Anyways, we should probably get food, no performing on an empty stomach." He says, as if on cue, his stomach growls.

"Hehe, I think there's an American place around here, if the map here is right."

"Like what type of American?" I ask.

"You know… American. There's more than one type?"

I facepalm. His lack of regional knowledge outside of Japan is pretty shitty.

"Ok, whatever. Let's go eat I say."

We head over to this place called: 'Murica' which is an all-American restaurant. Hon was pretty surprised when he found out that Americans have more than Burgers for food. We got steaks and Steak fries. I'm pretty sure Hon is hooked on those now, he fucking inhaled them and ate half of mine. When we finish I pay for the bill, cause I can, and we head back to the hotel. We grab the things we'll need and head back to the warehouse. When we're about a block away we run a systems check on our helmets. We resume walking back into the Warehouse. We enter to find that the warehouse was stocked with drinks, food, and a lot of other loungy stuff.

"Okay, well let's set up and fucking roll." Hon says

We've been here for about four hours, and everybody is already passed the fuck out. It's only 12. I know it was crazy, but damn. We left when everybody was sleeping. We check back into the hotel and try to sleep. I mean, I was about to sleep when I heard hon say:

"Two dudes, sleeping in a hotel, in two beds cause they're not gay."

I laugh and say.

"Just sleep man." And we do. I fell into a dreamless sleep, which is strange, it's been like that lately, for about five months.

I open my eyes to find it's still dark out, I look at the alarm clock, It's 4:30 AM. I suppose I should make the most of this and I get up. I put on sweats and tennis shoes and a T-Shirt. I step out of the room, careful not to make a noise as to wake Hon up and walk outside. I stretch a little bit before going for a jog.

"And where are we going so late at night?"

'You know you've been so quiet lately, I sometimes forget you're there.'

"Well, I just haven't had much to say, that's all." It sounds like she's lying. But I don't know.

'Well whatever.'

"Now, answer the question."

'It's actually early morning, about five.'

"Oh, now the other part."

'I don't know, Dagobah beach perhaps?'

"Isn't it supposed to be littered with trash?"

'We could do a little cleanup, and be back in time for a nap and the show.'

I can tell she sighed, which I really don't understand how, but she did.

"Fine, but let's be quick." she sounds impatient, too.

I keep jogging towards Dagobah beach, and in what felt like no time, I was there, the sun starting to rise. Now, what I expected was a trash heap, but what I got was a beautiful beach, it was very scenic, not a speck of trash, anywhere.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I hear a scream close to me. It didn't sound like a scream for help, but rather a victory cry.

"Check it out."

'Yeah, just in case.'

I take a quick jog over to the sound. I get closer and hear voices.

"You even got beyond the set boundaries!" A man says, his voice sounds very familiar I think that's a hero, I don't know though, I'm not very in touch with the hero world, at all. I come closer to where they are, behind a white truck.

"Y-yeah, I just feel like I'm cheating, I've been blessed." a boy says, kinda choking on his words. His voice is kind of high pitched-but I think that's because of crying or something.

"Ha ha! You know, this power, For you, was earned. For everyone else, it was handed to them." There's a silence and what I assume is crying.

"Ha Ha, We'll have to fix those leaky eyes of yours, now." again, a silence for a second.

"Eat this."

"Huh?"

"I'm serious! to acquire One for All, You must take in my DNA, I think hair is the best method of that."

"O-Oh."

"Hurry now! Eat it quick!"

There's a shuffling and a silence.

"Did You eat it?" the man says.

"Y-Yeah. But I don't feel any stronger."

"Yes, It will take time for it to go through your digestive tract, now remember, when you do get it, if you need to activate One for all, Clench your buttocks and yell deep inside you: SMASH"

'Smash?'

"I have no Idea." It's at this very unfortunate moment that my smartphone decided to buzz. Now, It's on silent, but the vibration is still loud as fuck. I freeze and they're silent. It's at this moment where I wisely decide to gtfo and silently get away. When I'm a safe distance away, I check to see who texted me when I get a call from Hon. I answer

"Hello."

"Hey, where the hell are you."

"Uhh, Dagobah beach, I decided to go for a run and I'm here."

"Dude that's like an hour away by foot."

"You're getting faster. That was 45 minutes" I ignore her and say:

"Yeah, well I'm heading back now, I'll catch a quick nap and We'll decide what to do all day until the show."

"Actually, I'm going to the entrance exams for U.A They're today like I said earlier."

"Oh, well you think you have a shot at getting in?"

"Yeah, a slim one but I think I do."

"Well what'll you do if you don't?"

"Shiketsu high has already accepted me, so If I don't make it here, That's always an option." I think about this for a moment, Shiketsu is pretty damn far. They're strict as well, I don't think we'll be able to hang out and DJ together for a while.

"That's good." I say

"I guess. You know, I still think you really have a shot at this hero thing, it'll be good to have someone as a friend in the Hero business, you know." This stops me dead in my tracks. I've heard that before, but not from him.

"Arnold?"

"Uhh, yeah, but no, I'm not going to do that, I'll see you later, you better get going, U.A is pretty far." U.A is only about twenty minutes away by train, but I'm not sure about the training grounds or the testing grounds.

"Yeah, ok you're right, See ya." I hang up and put my phone back in my pocket.

"We should probably head back, we might even be able to work on a new song."

'Yeah, but let's take a longer way, we'll get a better run and might see some cool stuff'

"Alright then."

And we do so. I see a couple of places of note, a gym, an antique store, a pawn shop. I stop at a cafe just to get some breakfast, which I skipped. I walk out and continue my run, coming across a bit more of a residential area, but still in the city kind of.

"Wanna talk about that conversation earlier?"

'Yeah, it seemed strange, talking about acquiring One for all, it might be just some weird ritual to earn some family shit, but it sounded like the name of a quirk, like my Midas touch or your Control spears.'

"Yeah, so maybe that's the man's quirk, to give someone a quirk."

'That's ridiculous, what is the point of that, It'd be an eye for eye type of thing, to give the quirk you'd have to lose the quirk.'

"Maybe that's the point."

'But giving the quirk IS the quirk so your quirk would be to give somebody the ability to give a quirk, which is fucking useless.'

"Good point so-"

'What? Oh.'

I look to my left to find a rather large house, It's white with a neat trim and nice grass out front. It's grandpa's house. I haven't seen or been in it since I moved out about eight years ago, but it somehow looks just fine, and it's still standing. I walk up the steps to the porch of the house and turn the doorknob. It's locked, go figure. I remember something and reach into a mail slit in the wall. I reach up with my fingers to find a tiny door, which I push open and feel an object. I grab it and pull out a key. It's been there the whole time. I unlock the door and step inside. The first thing I notice is that it's dusty everywhere. Even the floor. I walk in and close the door behind me. I notice that my shoes are leaving marks on the floor, which means it's really dusty. It's a pretty open first floor, with a kitchen to the right of the front door and the living room tho the left. Straight ahead is the stairs upstairs to the bedrooms. I go into the kitchen and open the fridge. It's surprisingly on, meaning there's still power in here. I laugh when the only things in there are energy drinks. I grab one and open it up.

"Is that a good Idea, It's been there for years."

'Eh, it's canned.'

I start to drink it and feel refreshed. Fruit punch flavored. Pretty good. I walk over to the living room, to where a huge T.V is mounted on the wall covered in a good layer of dust. On the walls, there hang pictures of our family and newspapers from decades ago. I head up the stairs and welcome myself to a number of rooms. The one on the far left is grandpa's. I decide not to go in there. I haven't before, so I won't go there. I walk into the middle left and find myself in a study. I haven't gone in here much, but there's lots of books and more newspapers, of Chrono-lock solving cases and dealing with villans, meeting with important people. It's kind of like walking into history, to be honest. I walk out and enter the next room. The middle right. It's my room I can't help but smile at the room. With a bed too small and a closet with a lot of clothes too small. I have a lot of weird stuff in here. And a lot of Chrono-lock merchandise. I liked my grandpa's hero life. It was interesting. One thing in the room caught my attention more than anything else though, It's a helmet, or rather a spartan helmet, with the right eye slit filled in. It catches my attention because it's not as dusty as everything else in the house. It was also sitting in the middle of my desk, with nothing else on it. I pick it up and blow on it. It's gold, I can tell by manipulating it a little bit. Maybe grandpa came by a while ago and put it here for me to find. I'm not sure why though. I put it back down and get out of my room. The last room is just a guest room, so I decide to skip on that. I head back down the stairs and go left into the garage. It's dark so I turn on the lights and I find a motorcycle. It's my grandpa's he was working on it when he left. It's almost completely apart It's not going on the road anytime soon. I walk back into the house and go into the training room, which you enter by a door in the living room. In there hasn't changed at all, with a combat mat on the floor and punching bags and such around. It feels really nostalgic coming back here. I walk out and leave the house, locking the door again and putting the key back. Before I can walk out though, I hear a voice.

"Hey, kid. Do you live here?" I turn around and see it's the mailman.

"Uhh, I used to."

"Do you know the person who lives here?"

"Yeah."

"Well, here." He hands me a letter and starts to walk off.

"Just give it to them, It'll make my life easier."

'Okay then.'

I look at the letter, which has a U.A stamp on it. Grandpa was accepted into U.A about fifty years ago, I think this is about that.

'I'll hold onto it, for safekeeping.'

"Good Idea."

I pocket the letter and continue my run.

I wake up in the hotel again and look at the clock.

6:30

{E} "SHIT!" I fly out of bed and put something decent on and wake Hon up in the bed beside me.

"Wake up! We'll be late!"

His eyes snap open and he flies into action as well.

8:22

We run to the location, which is on a street, we have to enter from an alley though, we're kind of late.

"We'll be fine, we've got less time to set up, but we'll be good." I say. We've already got our helmets on and activated. We have our gear and begin to walk down the alley. I can see a door into the building. I think I see some people walk down the alley on the other side, they're pretty shady looking. Just before we reach the door, it opens and two people walk out and close it.

"Well shit." I hear Hon say.

"We're stuck." he says

I take a quick look back to find that there's more people down there.

"Ya know," The mountain of a man in front of me says.

"Everybody supposed to be knocked out last night."

"Oh, really?" I ask

"Yeah, but I guess you two didn't drink anything. All those people were to join our cause. Now, we'll give you a choice: You either die, or join us like the original plan was."

"We choose neither." At the same time, me and Hon drop our stuff and push our backs together.

"I got your six." Hon says. I smirk from this. We've practiced this before.

"Suit yourself." the guy says and charges.

"Charge!" I say and we step out of the way of that guy.

"Can't use my quirk, I'd probably destroy a building." Hon says

"Same here, Take these." I wrap Hon's hands in gold from the sleeves of my jacket and form knuckle dusters. I'm keeping them light so he can effectively use them.

"Hell yeah." I can't use my quirk like before here, If I make the building gold, There's a good chance It'll be taken out and the building will collape. And morphing the ground beneath our feet with people's quirks we don't know of.

"Let's go." They start coming at us and we clash. I form gauntlets around my hands from the ground for myself and get to punching. I hit the first guy with a solid punch to the jaw and the second guy dodged my initial attack but I grabbed him and tossed him over my shoulder.

"Heads!" I say to alert Hon, who adjusts perfectly and lets him slam into the ground. I see someone at the end of the alley on my side who aims his fingers at us.

'Oh shit'

"Clear!" he yells.

"Duck!" I shout and move out the way. Hon doesn't. The guy makes a recoil motion with his finger gun and runs away. I can see a dart move towards Hon, and I can't stop it, my gold can't move that fast. It zooms past me and hits Hon in the neck. He drops to his knees and struggles to get up.

"Run, Arnold." he manages before he collapses

Without thinking, I kneel at his side. I check to see if he has a pulse, which thankfully he does, for now. I discreetly activate the 'emergency SOS on Hon's phone and hide it away. But that doesn't matter if a hero is coming I lay my head low, I've failed.

8:25

"So, wanna join us now?" The big guy from before says.

I don't respond.

"Silence means death kid. Come on." I hear shuffling feet.

'I might need help with this, Atalanta.'

"Understood."

"Ha… ha."

"What are you laughing about?"

"Well, you see, I always thought I would protect someone if they were in front of me and I could, but I totally could have there, and still. Here he is. I failed this, because of you."

"What are you on about?"

"Right now, I don't care. The heroes or police are on their way right now."

This seems to off-put them.

"That means we have about ten minutes until they get here."

I slowly rise and form blades about six inches out from the knuckles of my gauntlets.

"So until then…" I say.

I start to feel weird, like I'm drifting out of consciousness.

"It's been a while." I hear this, but I'm not saying this, It's coming from inside my head. My arms move to my sides, a battle stance. I'm not doing this, something else is controlling my body. I haven't felt like this since… Since… I fade out of consciousness The last thing I say in a voice that's not mine is:

"I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!"

8:36

I'm heading towards the SOS as fast as I can, I'm about a block away, I hope nothing bad has happened. The SOS had no details in it, meaning it's serious trouble. I hope the sender is OK.

I reach the alley it came from and announce myself.

"Pro hero: Death arms! Surrender or get pulverized!" But I find only one person standing in the alley, They're breathing heavily and wearing a mask that's been cracked and is displaying static.

"About a minute late." he says in a half- computerized voice before collapsing. I approach some of the people on the ground to find they're covered in blood, it's a bunch of shallow cuts, and in places that aren't lethal. This guy knows what he's doing. There's another masked guy leaning against a wall. I notice that he has a small puncture in his neck, but that's about it. I check out the rest of the bodies to find they're all alive, just bleeding and cut in places to cut off the blood flow that makes you conscious. I finally check the one who just collapsed. He seems to have collapsed of exhaustion, but he has no physical wounds, at all. Even after collapsing on the ground.

I call into HQ and tell them to get an ambulance over here, they're going to need it. I look to see a security camera at the corner of the building. At least this case will be easy to solve.

Aaaaaand that's it. I had fun writing this one! Anyways, I have nothing else to say here, so remember to always go Plus ultra!
