Hayato just finished the last of his paper work and set it to the side of his cluttered desk. He stretched and checked the clock noticing it was time to go pick up his daughter from day care. His wife was gone for the week on work related business leaving their 3 year old daughter in his care. It was very clear that he adored his little girl his wallet was filled with pictures of her. She had him wrapped around his finger the moment he laid eyes on her. When he arrived at the day care she ran up and hugged his leg smiling. "Papa" she said smiling as he picked her up. "How was your day Yukiko?" Hayato asked and smiled. "It was great we practiced for our dance for the parent night. I also went on a date with my boyfriend. Haru-chan fixed my hair for me just for the occasion." She said happily. Hayato nearly had a heart attack when she said she went on a date with her boyfriend. Okay maybe she was exaggerating since she was only three, but still that word made him want to burn that boy to a crisp. "You are going to give me a heart attack" he said with a nervous laugh "you can't have a boyfriend your only three silly girl." He stated. She looked at him and puffed her cheeks out, something her mother does when they argue. "I do have a boyfriend his name is Yamamoto XueQin!" she nearly shouted crossing her arms beginning to pout. Now not only did he want to burn that boy to a crisp but his dad as well. Even if it was pretend there is no way Hayato would let his princess date the baseball idiot's son. "Never in a million years wether its pretend or not would I ever allow you to date that idiots son." He said causing his daughter to start sniffling. He took that as his cue and grabbed her tiny backpack and left. The car ride home was silent his daughter had opted that instead of crying she was going to give her father the silent treatment. "To much like her mother" he thought, and boy was that the truth. His daughter might have his hair color and signature smirk, but her blue eyes, the way she acted when mad, and her tiny nose were all his wife's traits. This made life slightly difficult. When arriving home he set his daughter down and got her to watch cartoons as he made them dinner. His daughter still refused to talk to him even when he asked for a simple nod. The phone rang and before he could even pick it up Yukiko had grabbed it in her tiny hands. "Hi mommy" she shouted happily in the phone and began chatting with her mother. He sighed it seemed he would have to wait until she was don't to talk to his wife. By the time he set and served dinner Yukiko skipped in and gave him the phone, sat down, and began to eat without telling him a single word. "Hello?" he spoke into the phone only to be met by a shout. "Hayato are you mad telling you daughter that stuff. She's only three let her have her little phase. I bet tomorrow she'll have a different "boyfriend" anyways. Also you have no right to tell her who she can date if you do when she actually starts dating it will be a mess. I don't care what your excuse is, but you better fix things with your daughter or so help me I will feed you your sisters poison cooking for a month." His wife yelled through the phone. "Okay, I'm sorry I won't do it again. Calm down Sakura I'll take care of it by the time you get back I promise. I love you, bye." Hayato said and hung up before she had a chance to yell at him more.

"I'm sorry for telling you all those things daddy didn't know what he was saying" he said kissing his daughter's forehead as he tucked her in for bed. "It's okay Papa! Mommy said you act like that because that's how daddies act because they want to protect their little girls. She also said that that's why there are mommies to keep them in line." She said as she hugged her father. Hayato laughed "Something like that sweetheart, something like that." He said before turning her night light on and shutting the light off. His wife was right, though he wouldn't admit it out loud of course. The next day when he picked her up she of course had another "boyfriend" to tell him about. He would just have to get used to it, because that's what a dad does.
