The night was young as the zombies groans and screams could be heard throughout the city. The cracking sounds of fire loomed over the streets like a plague that could not be stopped. The agony of remaining survivors all cried as their bodies were being eaten and torn to shreds as the zombies feasted on them as if they were cattle all crammed together around one picket fence. The police, the military all tried to suppress the zombies but none made it out alive...except one boy.

Takashi could feel the thumping in his chest increase with every step, the blood rushing through his veins like a wild flood made his anxiety shoot through the roof. Saeko was holding her katana with a shaking hand as she could not cut down the zombies before her. The zombies were small children as they moaned in extreme hunger, wanting to taste the fresh and delicate flesh before them. Takashi swung at every zombie in his path with his baseball bat but too many were rushing his way. His heart was about to drop as in his mind the scenario of him and Saeko being eaten like feeble cats in the street played through his mind a thousand times per second. But in the blink of an eye the horde of zombies before him were obliterated as he fell on his back hard against the dirt, he looked up as Sakeo was right next to him and trying to recover her balance.

As the smoke faded Takashi was met with a Tan skinned boy with neon blue hair with special ops gear on. He was carrying a M60 LMG and strapped with a large belt made of 7.62x51mm NATO cartridges. A bowie knife was strapped to his side and 3 M67 grenades across his chest, the firepower he was carrying shocked Takashi to his nerves. Sakeo was wide eyed to see this boy standing before them with his hand out to help them up, she wrapped her right arm around Takashi's neck and took the boys hand as they stood up. Takashi was breathless as more zombies were approaching but the boy simply smiled as he pointed to the armored BTR a few hundred feet away from them as the boy held the heavy LMG.

"Alright, you two run to my BTR straight ahead and don't stop till you reach it." The boy shouted as the zombies focused their attention toward him. The boy opened fired as zombies were dropping like flies but their sheer numbers were horrifying as Takashi thought 'this guy is nuts' as he grabbed Saeko's hand and rushed toward the BTR.

Saeko could feel her heart race as Takashi was leading her to the BTR, she looked back as the boy was filling every zombie in sight with bullets but she gasp as his gun jammed. But she seen the boy throw the gun over his shoulder as he pulled out his bowie knife and thrusted the blade inside a zombies throat. She looked forward as the BTR was getting closer to them. She felt Takashi stop as they reached the BTR and take a deep breath, but their hearts jumped as they heard an explosion behind them. Saeko turned around as they see the boy tossing his grenades behind him and propelling him forward, the boy landed in front of them as he climbed up onto the BTR and opened the hatch.

"Get in!" The boy shouted as Saeko and Takashi quickly got inside the BTR as the boy closed the hatch and got in the drivers seat. Saeko watched the boy engage the vehicle as he was ruthlessly gunning down zombies with numerous weapons and missiles, it actually scared her a bit as the look on the boys face was completely calm with no care in the world. The sounds of zombies began to die down as they approached an abandoned airfield, the boy clicked a button as the automated metal gate opened and let them through. Saeko felt a sudden jolt as the BTR stopped and the boy opened the hatch and let them out.

"You two traveling alone, or you have a group?" The boy asked as Takashi spoke weakly.

"We have a group about two miles away from here, near an abandoned apartment complex." Takashi said as the boy nodded and climbed back in the BTR.

"My sister will look after you guys the doors in front of you." The boy said as he drove off. Takashi slowly knocked on the door as a little girl opened the door nervously. Takashi swallowed as he tried to speak softly to the girl and not look like an intruder.

"Hello my name is Takash-!?" Takashi could not even finish his sentence as him and Saeko was met with the barrel of a Spas-12 shotgun pointed at them.

"Who the hell are you!?" The little girl shouted as she was struggling to hold the heavy gun as she was clearly scared. Takashi gulped as he looked at Sakeo for help as both of them stayed frozen in front of the girl. Sakeo slowly put her hand on the barrel of the shotgun and pointed it down to the ground as she spoke softly.

"Your brother rescued us we don't bring any harm to you little one." Saeko softly spoke as the girl lowered the shotgun and let them in. Takashi let out a sigh of relief as he could hear the BTR pulling up behind them as he looks and sees the rest of his friends appear with relieved looks. The boy hops out last as he has a smile on his face and holds out his hand to shake Takashi's as everyone else enters the compound.

"My name is Vox nice to meet you." Vox said as he shook Takashi's hand as he responded.

"Takashi." he calmly responded as nightfall came, he really needed sleep.
