Chapter Three

The streets were buzzing with noise; people walking from place to place, cars driving by and advertisements shining down from the screens on passing buildings. Sakura felt right at home, listening to the sounds around her as she walked. It'd been a long time since she had so much free time to herself. Usually she'd be working or looking after Kyo, but today she had some time to herself before she needed to go fetch her son.

Sakura's attention focused on the different shops as she took her time. She hardly ever went to the shopping district, but today she felt a tug in that direction. She hummed as she looked up to see a small pastry shop. Smiling, she walked inside.

The smells were wonderful. She could smell pies, cakes and other sweets she suddenly desired. She heard someone call out a cheerful "Welcome!" that led her to the front counter to look inside the show case of different sweets. They had all kinds of delicious desserts. Cheesecake, Strawberry Short Cake and her most favorite Chocolate Mousse Cake; she pulled her purse higher on her shoulder before she stood.

She came face to face with one of the most handsome men she'd ever seen. He was tall with lean muscles and board shoulders. His skin was a light tan with a beautiful shade of brown hair. He also had the most breath taking golden-honey eyes that were covered with black rimmed glasses. He gave her a handsomely dashing smile and she could have sworn her face felt hot for just a spilt second.

"Hello, madam, how may I help you?" He spoke to her in a very polite voice, but she faintly heard a mischievous sound underneath. She smiled and said, "Hello, I'd like a Strawberry Short Cake and a Chocolate Mousse Cake to go." His eyebrow rose before nodding.

"That'll be four-hundred and forty-five yen, plus your number." The handsome man said with a wink. Sakura bit back a laugh before pulling out the money she needed to pay for the cakes. He counted it out and spoke, "I do believe you're forgetting the numbers to your phone, madam."

"Maybe another time," Sakura replied and gave him a cheerful smile. He frowned slightly and handed her, her cakes. She gave him a quick wave before she turned and walked out of the pastry shop. Sakura hummed as she started walking and looking inside the bag.

Kyo's going to be super happy. Sakura thought as she pulled her car keys out of her purse. She made it to her car when she felt her phone buzz; she pulled it out and looked at the unknown number. Sakura frowned but answered it anyways.

"Hello?" She spoke politely.

"Hey, Pinkie," a voice answered hers and she laughed. The other voice laughed, too.

"Well, I'll be. Sharkie, huh?" Another bark of laughter and she smiled. Sakura beeped her car unlocked and got inside.

"So, Pinkie, what're you up to right now?" He asked casually and she hummed.

"I'm on my way to my house, why?" She started her car and drove into the small two lane street. She checked her car clock as she waited for a car to turn.

"Well, a friend of mine wants to meet this mysterious woman with pink hair." He said and she raised her eyebrow.

"Been talking about me, huh? Interesting… Who's your friend?" She replied in a bubbly tone. It was a five minute drive to her son's school.

"His name's…" He stopped and she heard some muffled noises. She shook her head and made the turn to go to her son's school. "He said he wants you to find out in person." She could hear the eye roll.

"I'll think about it… I gotta go, I'll talk to you more later." And she hung up. Sakura frowned at this strange friend of Sharkie's. He didn't want her to know his name? What kind of person does that?

It confused her as she made her way to the front of the school's gates and watched the cutest scene unfold.

"Hey, Kyo!" A young, energetic voice rang out into the schoolyard. The black haired boy turned to see his two best friends racing to catch up with him. He looked at the two.

Takahashi Haruki, six years old, had dark green hair and black eyes. He and his twin brother, Shou, were the tallest kids at their school. Outgoing and good at sports had them very popular.

Kyo smiled and said, "Hey, I was jus bout to come find chu!" Haruki gave him a thumbs-up.

"Sorry, Kyo, our sensei needed to talk to Shou." Haruki replied. Kyo looked over at Shou, he shrugged.

"Well, let's play!" Haruki and Shou grinned and Kyo grabbed a soccer ball from the bin.

"Hey, Kyo, do chu wanna come over today afer school?" Shou asked when Kyo kicked him the ball. Kyo looked up at him.

"Nope! I can't. Mama's coming to get me today!" Haruki and Shou smiled at Kyo's happy expression and nodded in reply.

"Kyo-kun, can we play wif chu free?" The three boys turned to see a small group of girls with smiles on their faces. Kyo smiled back.

"Sure, is dat okay wif chu two?" He turned to look at his two best friends and they shrugged but didn't object. The girls laughed and the game was on. The group played for a good twenty minutes while Sakura just stood with her arms crossed leaning on the gate's pillar. She was smiling to herself as she watched her most important thing in her life smile and laugh with his friends.

She thought back to a time when she was his age. All of her friends playing kickball after school as they waited for their parents to come get them. She was happy, yet sad at the memory. She missed some of her friends, but problems were problems.

"Hey, Kyo! Isn't dat chur Mama?" One of Kyo's friends pointed to where Sakura was standing and he turned.

"Mama!" He dropped the ball he was holding and ran into her outstretched arms. She pulled him into a bone crushing hug.

"Hey, sweetie! How was school today?" He beamed at her smiling face.

"It was good! We played lots!"

Sakura's heart swelled at the site of his beaming face. She let go of him and told him to say his goodbyes to his friends. She watched and waited as her son ran back to his friends. He talked animatedly and laughed at something Haruki said. The three girls waved him goodbye as he walked back to her.

"All set? Let's go get your backpack and we'll go home." He took her hand and they walked into the school. They stopped in front of a cubby hole that housed his school bag and his outdoor schools. Sakura waited as he changed his shoes and picked up his backpack. He turned to give her a big grin and nodded.

They walked out to her car. Sakura was listening to Kyo talk all about his day and what he did today. He said he drew pictures, worked on his cartography and played outside with his friends. Sakura opened the door and he climbed into his booster seat; she helped him buckle up and shut the door. When Sakura turned she almost jumped out of her skin. She was not expecting to see the two men standing in front of her.

"Pinkie?" The nickname the taller of the men spoke out. Her eyes went wide as she looked back and forth from them to Kyo in the car. Kisame looked passed her and into the car.

"You're a mom?" He said and didn't get a reply. Sakura's face turned pale as she looked into Itachi's expressionless eyes. She couldn't see what he was thinking. He was always unreadable. Even when she still was dating… Him.

"Haruno… Who's child is that?" Itachi spoke and she backed up; trying to shield her son from the two men. Kisame looked down to Itachi, with a frown upon his face.

"You know Pinkie? No wonder you were so weird earlier…" Itachi ignored him and took a step towards Sakura. Sakura stilled. All three heads turned as they heard a knock on the glass window behind Sakura. She turned and Kyo was looking at them with wonder in his face. She gave him a reassuring smile before turning to face the two men in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned the two. Kisame shifted and Itachi stepped back in place beside him. She almost sighed in relief at the topic change. She couldn't handle telling him… Or Sharkie.

"We were… Doing business with one of our business partners when I spotted you walking to your car; I mean, there's not that many girls with pink hair, so I knew it was you. Not to mention you're wearing the same dress as when I met you earlier today…" Kisame replied sheepishly. He scratched the back of his head and shrugged. Sakura looked up at him before she nodded.

"You're changing the subject, Haruno. Whose child is that? It looks just like you." Itachi said while he narrowed his eyes at her. She swallowed.

"It's none of your business, do you hear me?! Just stay away from me!" She spoke loudly and turned to get into the car; she was about to shut the door when Itachi moved and held it open.

"Answer my question, Haruno." She glared up at him. Who did he think he was? Trying to make her tell him things he had no right in knowing.

"Hey, leave Mama alone!" A voice cried out from the backseat. They turned to see a red faced Kyo pointing his little finger at Itachi and squirming in his booster seat. Itachi raised an eyebrow.

"What's his name?" He said to Sakura but Kyo answered for her.

"I'm Haruno Kyo! Five years old! I'll beat chu up if chu don't leave mah Mama alone!" Itachi's mouth curved into a smirk before he pulled back. He looked at Sakura.

"We'll talk about this later…" And he shut the door. Sakura watched as the two walked away. Her eyes wide and full of fear; she started the car and raced home.

Kisame and Itachi got inside the car before Kisame barked at Itachi.

"What the hell was that, man? You ruined a good vibe! I was going to ask her out and now she probably hates me!" He crossed his muscular arms a crossed his chest and gave Itachi a dirty look.

"Hn," Itachi replied before he started the car. Kisame rolled his eyes.

"I'm serious, Itachi, what was that back there? How'd you even know her?" Itachi continued to drive; Kisame huffed and they ignored each other the rest of the drive. Itachi dropped Kisame off at his apartment before speeding off to his own.

He was itching to find out why Sakura had a child. The kid said he was five, which meant it was before she left without a trace. He actually frowned as he thought back to that time.

Sakura was dating Sasuke at the time. She had graduated from college and was an amazing doctor at Tokyo Hospital. She was rich as were her parents. She had friends and co-workers… Her grandfather had passed away sometime back then; left her with a lot of money… The whole Haruno Estate from the article he had read about her.

But what… What made her dash off and only to be discovered with a child. Did she cheat on Sasuke? Was it Sasuke's? Did he even know?

What in the Gods happened, damn it. Itachi's mind was spinning with different theories. The kid was an almost complete copy of his mother. Feminine features, green eyes, pale skin… The hair… The raven colored hair. It was the same as his and Sasuke's… So, it must be his kid, right?

He sighed as he turned off his car and sat back. He rubbed his eyes with the palm of his hands. Itachi did not like not knowing what was going on. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed Zetsu.

The phone rang for a total of four times before Zetsu finally answered.

"Hello?" The good side of Zetsu answered. He sighed before he spoke.

"Zetsu, you said you found everything on Haruno Sakura, but why wasn't there anything about a child?" Itachi asked in a calm and level voice. Zetsu scoffed.

"There was nothing about a child, Uchiha. We would have found it."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive. Why? What's going on?" Itachi shook his head.

"Nothing. Gomen, goodbye." He hung up the phone before stepping out of the car. He needed time to think. Time to research a little deeper about this Haruno Sakura; things just didn't make sense. Maybe he'd have to give her a little house visit. He smirked as he pushed the Up Button on the elevator.

Yes… A house visit would do them just fine. The doors dinged open and he walked inside. He pushed his floor button and the doors shut closed. He looked down at his watch and scoffed. It was 4:15 in the evening and he still had to do a report for Leader. He shook his head.

Investigating Sakura would have to wait until his report was finished.

The door dinged open again on his floor and he got off. Itachi pulled his apartment key out of his pants pocket before walking to his door. He smirked one last time at the thought of the pink haired beauty before he stepped inside.

You're an interesting one, Haruno Sakura… Very interesting.

A/N: Hello! I'm sorry this chapter's shorter than the other two, but I wanted to post something! I haven't been very productive over the last few months. To which I whole heartedly apologize. I have this story and another going on at the moment.

I'm still looking for someone to adopt my Hit and Run story. It's way over my head. I didn't know how I could turn it into a story that I wanted it to be. It was supposed to be a KakaSaku, but it's just too much work. I do apologize again if you like that story!

Anyways, thanks for reading! I like reviews, so please tell me what you think of this… I wasn't sure if I liked Itachi and Kisame to meet little Kyo yet, but it's all about Sakura, Kyo and Itachi! Maybe with a little Sasuke in there, too, but I don't really like him. Haha.

ANYWAYS. Sorry! I hope you liked this chapter!
