A/N: Sorry I haven't updated! DX School crap, life crap... BUT, I finally figured out what I wanna do with the story line now! SO EXCITED! Follow! Favorite! Review even if you have already! If not, tell me how it is!

(btw, you guys are the awesomest of awesome for sticking with me. Two chapters and 22 reviews? That's pretty fricken epic!)

Bravery is a strong burst of faith in yourself, whether you believe it to be sensible or not. It drives you to do what your gut instinct tells you. It isn't anything that can be studied or practiced from textbooks, or learned from others. It's feeling within you yourself, that can follow us through life continuously, or spring up inside us at the utmost random (yet needed), moments. The best thing to do, is find it within yourself, and act upon it through the greatest of deeds. Think not only of yourself, for that won't get you far. At least not as far as reminding yourself about what is important. Love. When you realize just how important and powerful an act of love and bravery can be, nothing will stand in your way. Not even fear.

Hiccup lay flat on his back, staring at the ceiling. What in the name of Thor did he think he was doing? 'Saving people...' the thought passed through his mind unintentionally. How else were those kids going to get home? They were safe now, and that's all that mattered. They would be missed more than he. What worried him, was that he now basically belonged to a God. He was scared. Look what Jack had done to those children! Thor knows what would happen to him. Maybe this creature would show mercy, given the fact he was here under his own will. There was also the fact that this unsettled being would become paranoid, and the possibilities after that were endless.

Jack flew in pure bliss, looping through the air and he went up and down the rows of children, letting life and warmth consume their small bodies once more. Soon enough, Jack was hiding behind trees, watching the kids running home to be greeting by screams of relief, each of them rushing into a warm welcoming embrace. His heart warmed unexpectedly. He would be returning home to someone, he thought.. Finally, someone who could see him, someone who he could look at, and would look back at him in return. Patterns of ice crawled across the dirt path as he flew straight up in the air, whooping and hollering following soon after.

Jack's excitement was replaced by confusion as a large black wall appeared in front of him. He was thrown backwards, skidding to land on his back and elbows. A smooth, light chuckle rang through the air, making the hairs on Jack's neck stand up. Before him appeared a woman, cloaked black and ash colored skin along with long raven hair. Her face was long, yet quite lovely. A light mist of clouds seemed to follow the wake of every movement. A wicked smirk was planted on thin lips, just barely showing perfectly pointed teeth.

"Jack!" She extended her arms as if they were old friends, "It's been ages."

Jack's eyes grew wide with realization, "Emily..? Emily Jane?"

"Yes, like I said, it has been a while." The woman helped Jack to his feet, "Well, you don't look a day older than when we last met."

"That would probably be the immortality thing.." He mumbled, brushing himself off. "What do you want?"

A pout formed on her lips, "Awhh, what? I can't visit an old friend on my own account?" Jack gave her an unbelieving look. She sighed, "Right, Well, my father happens to have a message for you."

A confused glance, "Pitch? What does he have to say to me?"

"He's come to the realization that you've acquired a... friend. A mortal friend."

Jack snorted, "Yeah? So what?"

A mischievous grin spread across Emily's face, "You know how much we care about you Jack, so we have a proposition."

The white haired bow raised an eyebrow, "Alright, go on.."

The grin grew. "It doesn't take much to see that you're already developing feelings for this boy. It would take a fool not to see what you two could become. So, our deal is, that as soon as it is a proven fact that this boy loves you in return, and that you are willing to spend a mortal life with him, away from the curse, we will set you free from the fate set before you."

".. And if I fail? If he doesn't love me in return?"

Emily chuckled, "If you fail, you belong to us. You will work under my father's command forever, stuck in your immortal form with no freedom."

Jack pondered the thought. How scared the young boy had seemed.. Although he did have the right. Would he learn to love Jack? A chance at mortality, and a life with the one who could see him.. Even if they had just met, Jack had taken one look at the scrawny male and fallen deeply in love. Admittedly, the encounter in the woods had not been the first time Jack had seen the boy. Every time he would swipe a child, he would stop at one particular window to watch a certain freckled teen scribble away at his drawings, or stick his nose on a book and just read for hours. He could never bring himself to take him. Turning that beautiful skin to ice, or ruining those perfect emerald eyes would be worst crime ever committed. Even one chance to make the small viking fall in love with him was worth the consequences that would occur if he was turned down.

"..I'm in." Jack murmured, not believing himself.

One final nod and laugh from Emily, and she disappeared as mysteriously as she had arrived. Jack took to the sky once more, just a tad less enthusiastic as the time before. What was he supposed to do? How does one control love?

Astrid stomped around the village in a huff, pieces of blond hair falling in and out of her face. This was getting frustrating. Everyone was complaining endlessly about this "tragedy." Honestly, sure there was a few kids missing, but this was getting in the way of more important things. Thing like her new championship. They had actually canceled all the events!

She was on her way to see Hiccup. Maybe he'd feel bad enough for her to finally accept her offer of marriage. After all, he was the son of the richest man in Berk. The chief even! A connection like that would definitely raise the chances of fame in this gods-forsaken place.

Astrid arrived at the Haddock house hold, stomping in the door and up the stair case, only to find Hiccup's father clenching the boys bed sheets, obviously on the brim of tears. Her eyes narrowed. Now this was her business.
