"Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" Yang shouted to get the attention of her sister
"Oh! Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!" Ruby told Jaune before she walked over to Yang leaving Jaune behind.
"Hey, wait! *sighs* Ah, great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?!" He asked himself in frustration. He then walked away unaware that Pyrrha was watching him.
"How's your first day going, little sister?" Yang asked
"You mean since you ditched me and I spun outta control?!" Ruby corrected
Yang scratched the back of her head and laughed nervously "Yeah!" She chuckled.
"Well, aside from falling Into a pile of luggage, it's actually been pretty good! I found this girl and she was really nice and helped me up after I fell down in her luggage and we quickly became friends after a few short minutes." Ruby explained.
"Do you think she's cute?" Yang asked broadly smiling knowing that her sister is an open lesbian and that Ruby really wants a girlfriend.
"She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen!" The brunette openly admitted.
What Ruby didn't was that Weiss was right behind her and heard everything she said about her. Is that really how she feels about me!
"Hey Ruby!" Weiss smiled.
"Oh Hey Weiss! I-It's nice to see you again." Ruby blushed.
Yang smiled and nudged Ruby's shoulder. "Are you gonna introduce me to your new friend?" She asked her sister.
"Oh right! Yang this is Weiss Schnee, she's the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company!" Ruby started introducing Yang to Weiss who blushed. "oh wow, I can't believe you remembered all of that!" She said humbly.
"Well of course I would. You helped me up back there and it's pretty easy to remember something that belongs to a girl who stands out so much!" Ruby
Weiss' blush only grew deeper and she held her hands over her heart while Ruby continued.
"Weiss, this is my sister Yang." Ruby told Weiss.
"Hellooooo!" Yang greeted
The 2 shook hands "It's nice to meet you Yang." Weiss smiled still thinking about what Ruby had said.
The girls' attention are drawn to the stage, where Professor Ozpin is readying the microphone, with Glynda beside him.
"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." He explained
As Ozpin leaves Professor Goodwitch steps up to speak.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Glynda Informed

Students are splayed out in sleeping bags. Ruby, in her pajamas and with a sleeping mask around her head, is writing in a journal when Yang crashes next to her, similarly dressed.
"It's like a big slumber party!" Yang says.
"I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though." Ruby responded without looking up.
"I know I do!" Yang purrs as she watches several muscular, shirtless guys... and Jaune, dressed in feetie pajamas, waving to her, which makes her groan before she returns her attention to Ruby
"What's that?" Yang asked curiously.
"A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going."
"Aw, that's so cuuuute!"
Ruby throws her pillow at her.
"Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school! It's weird not knowing anyone here!"
"What about Weiss? She seems really nice! There you go! Plus one friend! That's a hundred percent increase!"
"Hey you're right! Thanks Yang!"
"It's only been one day. You have friends all around you. You just haven't met them yet." Yang reassured her socially awkward sister.
