Chapter Three- "Disaster"

Sunday, September 11th, Delilah POV

I finished putting the blue, red and white glitter onto Dream's hip, I had stenciled it to be an American Flag. I had braided red, white and blue ribbons into his mane also to show our American spirit in honor of today being September 11th. We had a pretty big display for the opening of the Rodeo and all of the riders were dressed in patriotic colors. My blonde long hair was in a braid down my back I had braided my hair to match Dream's, well Kathryn had to help with the ribbons.

I saw Kathryn in the stands with the Cullens and their siblings. Kyle was competing tonight with me in team roping and then bull riding. Kathryn was not too happy about that. But she was glad she finally got to meet Carlisle and Esme to see who I chattered about so much. Everyone had come out to cheer me and Kyle on, also to see their first rodeo.

I mounted Dream and got in line with the other riders. Since Kyle and Kathryn contributed to the rodeo, we had a banner that hung over the rider chutes where the broncs and bulls were put in before releasing that would advertise our ranch. I was also the last rider in, since Dream was the calmest. They had fireworks, well it was called aerial repeater, which was like a small fireworks show in a tube. They had them in patriotic colors and one of the horses would walk between them. Dream, being the calmest horse there, would be the one to ride through them. The rodeo director praised me on how well I had him trained when we practiced the first time. Dream and I would be carrying an American flag, one of the male riders named Jay was carrying the Montana state flag and we had multiple military flags to honor our troops.

I heard the music start playing. It was a newer Toby Keith song called "Made in America". When it was towards the end, they lit the fireworks and I rode Dream through. He arched his neck and pranced towards the opening. When we got to the opening and the song hit it's final climax, I nudged him into a run and let the American Flag fly. I smiled as cheers went around the arena as we all rode around, the flags streaming and fireworks going off. Kathryn had told me they always started with a big bang.

I pulled Dream back to a trot as the song ended and the announcer let the audience know we would be setting up for our first event, mutton busting. Mutton busting was an event where children rode sheep as if they were on a bull or bronc. Of course sheep just ran but still it was kind of fun for kids.

I rode out of the arena talking with the other riders how great the opening was. I saw Emmett waiting for me when I came out of the arena. He was smiling. I dismounted Dream and Emmett walked forward. "That was amazing! You were amazing."

I smiled at him. "Well thank you." Emmett walked with me to take Dream to the barn as they prepared for the next event. I was nervous. I had two events this afternoon, one with Kyle but I was still nervous. I guess I'd just have to wait and see how I did.

…...

I sat in the saddle of a dark bay gelding of ours. I was talking to a potential buyer about him. "Well his registered name is Timber's Heart, but we just usually call him Timber. He's been doing great in barrels. If your daughter has been riding for years and experienced in barrels, Timber and her would be perfect together."

"She has been riding since she was five. She's now fifteen. Her mother and I think it's time to finally get her a horse of her own." Mr. Ridge, the man I was talking to, said patting Timber's neck. We talked more about Timber and watched the cowboys start with bull riding.

"Well here is our ranch card and Kathryn, who is co-owner with her husband, is heading our way now." Once Kathryn got there, they started talking and I took Timber back to the barn to switch him out with Dream. I wanted to get Dream more used to the rodeo and while he was almost completely bombproof I wanted to expose him to all different kinds of situations. I mounted him and walked back out just in time to watch Kyle get on his bull. I rode Dream right up to the gate and watched nervously. Bull riding was just so dangerous. But it had always been a thing for Kyle, he thought it was exciting and something everyone should do at least once.

I felt a tap on my leg and Nessie, Jake, and Emmett were standing there. "You looked great out there riding!" Nessie smiled at me. I knew she was excited and thrilled about the rodeo.

"Thanks! It was all the horses I'm telling you. They're both great horses. Timber, the horse I rode in the barrel racing, he might actually be getting a new home with a girl a little younger than us who rides in barrels. It'll be her first horse." I smiled patting Dream. He might not be totally mine but I knew Kathryn and Kyle wouldn't sell him because I loved him. So this girl was really lucky to be getting her own horse.

I turned as I heard the chute open and the bull, with Kyle on him, was released. The bull bucked and twisted but Kyle stayed on. The buzzer went off signaling that Kyle had stayed on for eight seconds as required. He hopped off and grinned but the grin was off his face in the next second as the bull slammed into his back.

I heard gasps and a few screams from the crowd. The rodeo clowns tried to get the bull's attention but he was focused on Kyle. I looked around for either of the pickup riders, they weren't here. I backed up Dream and trotted him over to the gate. "Open the gate!" I shouted as I rode over. The guy hesitated for a second but then opened the gate. Kyle was being gored by the bull so I pushed Dream into a fast run towards him. Dream slammed into the bull's hip and got him momentarily distracted.

Now he was focused on Dream and I. The bull pawed at the ground and charged Dream. I tried to keep Dream under control as the bull slammed his head into Dream's hindquarters. I kicked Dream into a run away from the bull but kept the bull's attention on me by waving my arms, whistling and shouting. I noticed Emmett had stormed into the arena after me, he was at Kyle's side with two cowboys trying to get Kyle out of the arena. I had to keep the bull's attention.

Dream wasn't having it though. He ducked his head and bucked as hard as he could, he was terrified if he was bucking. I tried to keep my seat but he twisted like a bronc and I ended up in the dirt. Dream took off towards the gate and I scrambled to my feet. I turned around and saw the bull was about fifteen feet from me, the closer panel of gate where I could get to safety was probably twenty feet from me. Emmett and the cowboys almost had Kyle out but the bull turned towards them.

"No!" I shouted and waved my hat trying to get the bull's attention. The bull turned back towards me and charged towards me. I took off running for the gate, for safety and saw Jasper standing at the gate with Jake and Nessie.

"Run Delilah! Run faster!" Jasper shouted as the bull got closer. Just as I thought I was going to make it, I tripped, falling flat on my face. "Delilah!" I tried to scramble to get up but knew I wouldn't make it now. I felt a warm body close to me and braced for the horns of the bull. But they didn't come. I looked up and saw brown fur. It was Dream. He stood over me protectively. The bull was still charging us. I grabbed the stirrup and pulled myself up. I threw myself halfway on Dream and smacked his butt. He loped off as I pulled myself up into the saddle.

I got control back over Dream and turned around to look at the bull. A few cowboys and the rodeo clowns were trying to get him to go towards the chute but he would just charge them and then run. I gripped the rope that was on my horn and put my gloves on. "Okay boy, we gotta get this bull back in the chute. I know you're terrified but we have to do this." I tried to soothe him. I just hoped he wouldn't throw me again. I trotted towards the bull with my loosened lariat. I swung out my rope and it sailed over the bull's horns. I tightened the rope around the horn and walked Dream towards the chute, pulling the bull towards it.

After struggling for ten minutes, I finally got him into the chute. I let go of my rope, just glad the bull was contained now. The cowboys complimented me as I rode Dream tiredly out of the arena. Everyone but Kyle, Kathryn and Carlisle met me outside of the gate. Emmett yanked me out of the saddle and hugged me tightly, a little too tightly. "Ouch." I gasped and he loosened his arms.

"Are you insane?" Emmett held me now at arm's length. "You could of gotten hurt or worse, killed!" I yanked out of his grip.

"What was I supposed to do?!" I shouted at him. "Kyle was getting gored in there and no one could help or was helping! So I did what I needed to in order to save him!" I pulled Dream along, feeling the anger and anxiety building up in me. Was Kyle okay? I also needed to check Dream over and make sure he had no injuries. I think Dr. Ritter or Dr. Burnett was around here somewhere. I'd had to get one of the vets to check him over.

"Delilah wait!" It was Nessie. "Emmett was just worried, he didn't mean to yell at you or seem angry." I nodded, I knew that but I was still fuming. I mean did he just expect me to sit there while Kyle was being gored? "They took Kyle to the hospital. Carlisle went with him. Do you want to go to the hospital?"

I stopped as I got the barn. "I have to check Dream out first. Make sure he doesn't have any injuries from the bull then I'll call Kathryn. Someone has to take the horses home and get the night routine going." Nessie grabbed my arm.

"Are you okay?" She whispered looking towards Jake, who was standing there looking concerned too.

"I'm fine." And I would be. I wouldn't give in to the pain, wouldn't cry. I would just push the events out of my mind and do what needed to be done. Dr. Ritter entered the barn and I walked Dream over to her. I had to make sure he was okay.

…...

Emmett POV

Could vampires have heart attacks? I felt like I was going to die watching Delilah in the arena with the bull. Now she was mad at me because I was concerned? "What did I do?" I asked Edward as I waited for Nessie, Jake and Delilah to come out of the barn.

"You scared her. You yelled at her." Edward said, running his hand through his hair. "She just had a terrifying experience, traumatizing probably with Kyle, she comes out needing comfort, support and you yelled at her."

I sighed, my shoulders sagging. "Damn." I screwed up. "It's just it was so scary when she was out there and I thought she was going to get hurt or get killed and I..."

"If it was that scary for you, can you imagine how it was for her?" Jasper put his hand on my shoulder. "Not only was her guardian, Kyle, laying on the ground while being attacked by the bull but then Dream was attacked, he bucked her off and the bull came after her. She was terrified."

"I should go find her." I stood up straight. Esme kissed my cheek.

"Be nice to her. I'm going to go to the hospital to join Kathryn. She shouldn't be alone right now." Esme left with Edward and Bella following her. I walked towards the barn and when I walked in, I saw Delilah with a woman who was looking over Dream. Probably the vet. The woman gave Delilah a hug and after patting Dream on the neck, walked off.

"Hey." I said quietly as she grabbed Dream's lead rope. Nessie and Jake walked off, giving us a little privacy. Delilah ignored me. "Look, I'm sorry about yelling at you back there. You just scared the shit out of me. And I know you're probably just as terrified or more terrified because it was you out there."

Delilah peeked a bit at me. "Apology accepted." She said softly. I smiled and grabbed her arm lightly, pulling her towards me. I hugged her gently, taking in her scent, the smell of horses and cinnamon. The venom pooled in my mouth and I grimaced. I hated that she smelled so good and I was a vampire. My feelings were so wrong. "I have to get ready to take the horses home. I called Kathryn, she wants me to go home. Cody can't make it to the ranch tonight so I have to get the horses fed and settled for the night. She's going to text me any updates."

"Well I'll come over and help. I don't want to you to handle it all alone." She let out a small smile and I helped her load the four horses up. Giving her a hand would be helpful and I could spend more time with her, make sure she's alright and had no injuries, big or small.

.. …...

Delilah POV

Emmett and I had just finished the night feeding when my cell phone buzzed. It was Kathryn. "Kyle had three broken ribs and a fractured arm." I grimaced. He wouldn't be able to ride or help with anything for awhile. Luckily that was all that was wrong and Dream was also okay.

"That sounds rough." Emmett said handing me three buckets.

"He'll be out of commission for awhile, which means I'm going to have to really step it up around here." I wished I was out of school already. I still had this year, which was my junior year and then my senior year next year.

"I can help out more." Emmett offered. "I can come over after school every afternoon and be here on the weekends too."

"That'd be great." Emmett was learning quickly these past few days. I was really enjoying him being here. We were becoming good friends just like I was with Nessie, Jake and Jasper. I liked Alice, Bella and Edward too but I was still getting to know them.

"Do you want to come in and I can make us some food?" I said as we walked out of the barn. I didn't want him to leave just yet.

"I'm not really hungry but I'd like to stay to keep you company." Emmett put his arm around me and we walked up to the house. I made myself a salad with grilled chicken and tossed some Caesar dressing on it. Emmett and I talked about school, about his family, about what needed to be done tomorrow morning. I tried to stall as I ate, I didn't want to be alone without anyone here but I very well couldn't ask him to stay.

Emmett stared at me. "You know, you don't have to keep playing with your food to stall. I can stay however long you want me to stay." Emmett reached over and grabbed my hand.

"Well, how about we watch a movie?" I blushed slightly. Emmett smiled.

"That'd be great. You're not gonna make me watch some chick flick are you?" Emmett asked as I washed my bowl out.

"No." I laughed. I only watched romance movies once in a blue moon. "I was thinking we could watch the Avenger's movie."

"Now you are a cool girl." Emmett sat down on the couch with me. "You like Marvel comics?"

"I like the movies all except Spiderman and I don't really read the comics. I'm just not too interested in him." I put the Avengers movie in the DVD player. "And no, I don't like the superheros because they're 'sexy and buff'."

"Ah, you're too good to be true." Emmett shook his finger at me. "Most girls just watch the movies because the guys are all buff."

"I'm not too much into buff guys." Except you, I thought to myself. Emmett was very much in shape and I did like watching him ride or do things around the farm. I only hoped it wasn't too obvious.

"Oh so you don't like me?" Emmett grinned and cocked an eyebrow at me.

"Psh, no." I tried hard not to grin back or blush. It would ruin me. Emmett leaned over.

"Hmm, are you sure?" Emmett was now leaning over me as I laid back against the pillow to get away from him.

"I'm sure." I sounded breathless so it wasn't too convincing. Emmett was inches from my face and I could see the beautiful golden color in his eyes with just a little bit of darkness on the inside. They were mesmerizing. I think that's when my brain stopped working. I put my hand around his neck and pressed my lips to his. His lips were smooth and his hands grabbed my hair. I moved my lips with his as he kissed me back. With what sounded like a low growl, Emmett pulled away and sat far away from me. "I'm—I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me."

Emmett looked at me and his eyes were darker now. I swore there was a bit of desire in his eyes. "We, uh, should probably just watch the movie."

"Yeah." I agreed and sat back, touching my lips. After a few minutes, I saw a small smile on Emmett's face and I bit my lip. He enjoyed it too. As much as I wanted to kiss him again, I kept my hands to myself and forced myself to focus on the movie on the screen. It wasn't easily doable. Slowly, Emmett scooted back closer to me and I made sure to keep myself under control. I don't even know how I lost control in the first place.

Halfway through the movie I felt my eyelids drooping and laid down on the pillow on the couch. Before I knew it, I was out.

…...

Emmett POV

I watched Delilah as she slept. How had I let her kiss me? Why had I taunted her? I could have lost control and killed her. No one would have known. How did Edward handle this with Bella? I had so many emotions run through me when she kissed me. Surprise, happiness, and most dominantly, desire. I didn't even want to start a relationship with her since she was human, anything more was surely out of the question. Especially with what happened to Edward and Bella...Nessie was wonderful but I could never take that chance with Delilah. I could never tell her I was not human. It was best not to get involved.

But as I watched her, I knew it was going to be hard. She was so beautiful and I loved her personality. Something had happened to her in her past, I knew that from Edward, but I didn't know what. I knew she had previously lived in Texas and she wasn't blood related to Kathryn or Kyle. Something had forced her out of Texas.

After watching her sleep for an hour, I figured she was out for the night. I debated about whether I should leave or not. When her phone buzzed a few minutes later, I saw the text was from Kathryn. They weren't coming home tonight, they wanted to keep Kyle for observation. I would stay. I didn't want her to wake up alone. I moved her up to her bedroom where she would be more comfortable. She woke up long enough to change herself into more comfortable clothing while I turned around. "Don't go." She mumbled as I got up to get out of the bed. I sat back down and she fell back asleep.

Around three in the morning, I got up slowly trying not to wake her up. I wanted to go home and get new clothes since we'd have to go to school today. I ran home and was met at the door by Esme.

"Where have you been?" She fretted.

Edward smirked. "With Delilah." I rolled my eyes.

"You guys are the one who told me she needed support. So I helped her out with feeding. We watched a movie, she fell asleep. She asked me not to leave." Nessie grinned at me.

"You like her!" Nessie said in a sing-song voice. I groaned.

"I like her as a friend." I told her. Alice scoffed.

"That's not what my vision was showing." Alice pretended to gag. Of course Alice had seen a vision when it very quickly went through my mind that I wanted Delilah.

"It was just for a second." I felt like blushing. Bella grinned at my uneasiness.

"Finally, you're the uncomfortable one." Bella slapped my shoulder. I just wanted to leave already.

"Please tell me you're not going to try anything with her." Esme looked at me sternly. I threw up my hands in the air.

"NO! It's different with her. She's a human. I can't do anything with her!" I can't believe my family was even thinking like this. She was a human, I couldn't get involved at all.

"Bella was human." Edward pointed out. I stopped everything. My emotions, my thoughts.

"Look, it's different for you and Bella. Bella is your soul mate. Your mate for life. Rose was mine and so I can't be with anyone else. No one will make me as happy as she did." I half-shouted at them. The pain was flaring up now, trying to be let out. "And I sure as hell am not going to get involved with a human who I'd have to leave in a few years because I won't change her!" I stormed up the steps, grabbed my clothes and ran down the steps.

"Emmett, wait!" Bella shouted after me but I took off running to my Jeep. I started the Jeep and took off down the road, back to Delilah's house. It didn't matter if I liked Delilah, it didn't matter if she was pretty, it didn't matter if we got along so well and it sure as hell didn't matter that when I kissed her, I felt like myself again. I wouldn't get close to her.

…...

Delilah POV Monday October 3rd

The weeks had passed since the horrific opening of the rodeo. Kyle was slowly recuperating from his injuries and things were getting back to normal. We had went out to dinner, all of us, the Cullen's and Kathryn and Kyle to celebrate Nessie's and Bella's birthdays. They were both turning seventeen. I had gotten Nessie to ride a horse with me around the ranch but she was still too nervous to leave the ranch. Emmett was almost always around and he had been acting just a little weird. At first, he distanced himself from me, kind of coldly. Then he was back to himself and we were becoming closer. I loved it.

Emmett was so much fun to be with at the ranch while we were working and he could make me laugh in almost any situation. Of course, since our kiss things could be a little...tense. I had accidentally walked in on Emmett when he got out of the shower. You would think I would have learned after the first time. Emmett would tease the crap out of me about it.

Nessie and I had presented our History project and gotten an A on it. We would always partner up together now and we were best friends. It was a bit worrisome but nice to have friends again. Esme and Kathryn talked every day on the phone while we were at school and would swap gossip, cleaning tips, you name it. Esme would bake often and bring food over since Kyle was not able to cook. I took over the best I could when Esme wasn't bringing something over. I didn't dare let Kathryn cook.

I felt Emmett poke me and I turned to him. "We're here." I was in Emmett's Jeep with him. We usually car pooled together to and from school. He was telling me we were at the ranch. We got out and set to work, bringing in a few horses that Kyle asked me to ride and exercise.

Emmett was busy in the barn as I worked horses. I think Kyle was having him move hay bales around so we could get another load in for the winter. I roped a little bit of Wolf, listening to my music on my phone. Timber had been sold to Mr. Ridge for his daughter and she loved him. They were doing very well on the rodeo circuit. Kyle wanted me and Wolf to enter this weekend's rodeo but I wouldn't be able to do team roping without a partner. So I'd probably just do calf roping.

After I finished riding Wolf and put him away, Emmett pulled me aside. "Kyle wants us to ride up and check on some fencing near the creeks. He thinks it might need repairing."

"Okay, let me just grab Dream." I went to go tack Dream up, not knowing what Emmett was doing.

…...

Emmett POV (anything in Italics in Emmett thinking back to what was said)

As I drove Delilah and I to the ranch, I thought about the conversation I had with Jasper and Edward a week ago. It was about Delilah and me. "Look Emmett, I know you loved Rose and you two were great together. But have you ever thought of maybe this is fate's way of saying, here is your second chance at happiness? We've met multiple humans over the past few years, some pretty ones too and you haven't had a connection like you have with Delilah." Jasper had said to me.

"Jasper is right, Em. Delilah may be human and maybe you're afraid of her reaction to what we are and of hurting her but you two obviously have feelings for each other. She is a constant thought in your head and you care about her. It's not all about the physical attraction—although that's still there," Edward shuddered "But you care about her safety, you love watching her work with the horses and you love that she's now becoming best friends with Nessie, as all of us do. I haven't seen you this happy since Rose was alive. You might not want to admit it, but Delilah is bringing back a part of you. She brings out the happy Emmett, the caring Emmett, the competitive Emmett we all know and love. She's good for you." They had kept talking me and Jacob had joined in at one point.

Their argument was all the same. I should give Delilah and me a chance. I had tried to push her away after that night we kissed but it didn't work. I liked her too much already and I hated seeing her upset. So I just let myself be me and had fun with her. And we did have fun, so much fun. Delilah was this bright person that was happy and she was really hilarious. The time flew by when we worked together on the ranch and a good amount of nights I stayed for dinner or she would come over our house to hang with Nessie or Jasper or we would play video games together. She fit in so well.

Carlisle and Esme loved her. Bella was happy I was happy as was Alice. Nessie beamed every time she saw us together. She missed her happy Uncle Emmett. She had been young when Rose died and although she loved Rose, she wanted me to find happiness. She thought Delilah was it. Of course, it was great that Delilah was her best friend now. They were like two peas in a pod and partners in crime. I didn't know where Nessie got her bit of wild side from, but I liked it. Delilah and her together were trouble.

I had come up with a plan to surprise her with a date. But I didn't want to do the generic dinner and a movie. Especially since I was getting sick of having to throw up so much food. So I talked to Nessie and we got a plan together. I had run it by Kyle the other day.

"Kyle?" I knocked on the office door softly. He was healed enough to come down to the barn and do paperwork and oversee barn work.

"Emmett, hey what's up man?" Kyle waved me in. "Sit down." I felt nervous for the first time around Kyle. Delilah was Kyle's God daughter. So it was almost like I had to ask a father for permission to ask his daughter on a date. I sat down in front of him.

"Look, you know Delilah and I get along really well." Kyle sat back in his chair and raised his eyebrows.

"Yes I do." Kyle nodded for me to go on. I took a deep breath.

"I really like her and I want to have a date with her. But I wanted to make sure it was okay with you first and run my plan by you." I explained to him my idea about taking Delilah on a ride to a pretty place and having a picnic with her instead of a generic date.

Kyle smiled. "You've really put some thought into this haven't you?" I nodded. "Well there's a place I know she likes. It's up by our creek that runs down the mountain, if you just keep going out of the back pasture you'll find it. You could set it up while I have her working Wolf in the arena then say I need you to check the fence so you can surprise her. Pretend to be doing barn work. But you'll have to be quick about it."

I smiled. I could do that. Now we were back to the present and as she walked off to work with Wolf, I ran off to set up our date.

…...

Delilah POV

I followed Emmett on Dream and wondered how far we were going up here. Soon enough we would hit one of the prettier spots of the ranch that I loved. You could see all the mountainside with the trees and the rushing creek ran right through it. If you caught it at the right time, it made a hell of a scene.

"We should stop the horses here and leave them here. I see the hole up ahead." I dismounted Dream, who would stay because he was trained to ground tie, and walked with Emmett towards the fence. There was no hole.

"Emmett, there's no hole." I said half irritated. Why did he drag me up here if there was no hole? Emmett grinned.

"I know." He grabbed my hand and climbed over the fence. I followed trying to keep up. We kept walking and I could hear the creek up ahead. Just as we walked through some trees and I could see the creek, I noticed something else too. There was a few blankets laid out with containers that I assumed held food and some bottled water. I looked at him in surprise. "Well I didn't know if you would agree to go on a date with me so I just decided to surprise you...and I didn't want to be like every other guy that just takes you to a movie or dinner. I wanted something different."

I felt shocked but there was a happiness too. He did all this for me? "Thank you." I whispered and Emmett led me towards the blanket. I sat down and he started opening containers.

"I have to admit, Esme did the cooking for this. But truly, you don't want me to cook for you. I suck." Emmett smiled and handed me a container that held, from what it looked like, chicken Alfredo.

"I just can't believe you did all this for me." I said, taking a bite of the food. It was delicious. Of course all Esme's cooking was delicious.

"Well I wanted to do something nice for you. You deserve it. You have been working so hard these past few weeks trying to make everything easier on Kathryn and Kyle. You're running yourself ragged." Emmett brushed a stray strand of hair behind my hair.

"You've been working pretty hard too." I tried not to let him know how much his touch affected me. It could muddle my mind pretty quickly.

"Yeah but not as hard as you. This ranch is a part of you, it's something you love so deeply. You can see the pride in the way you ride, the way you talk about the ranch, the way you work so hard. I know Kyle loves having you here with him, so does Kathryn." He told me. I blushed.

"Well they took me in when I needed them too and I want to repay them for that. Plus they've worked so hard to get where they are and I admire that. I want to be just like them. I'd have never thought that I'd be a ranch type girl who rode horses and competes in rodeos. It's all so different from who I was." I knew he was probably curious about my past. But I just couldn't tell him. He probably wouldn't even want me if he knew.

"I'm glad they did. Because if they didn't, I wouldn't have had the chance to meet you." Emmett said, taking a sip of water.

We turned to topics that were more light, easier. About how Emmett now loved riding Lamb, much to his surprise, how long did I think Jasper and Emmett could go on not making any perverted jokes(I knew it was hard on Emmett), how Nessie and I were doing in our classes. Once we were finished eating, Emmett and I looked at each other. There was that tension again.

"I want to take control this time." Emmett smiled and I was trying to figure out what he meant when he kissed me. It was very much like last time. He buried his hands in my hair and I wrapped myself around him as our lips moved in sync. I fell back against the blanket and my neck was exposed. Emmett kissed lightly down my neck and I gasped at the feeling. Emmett kissed back up my neck and along my jawline back to my lips. Emmett pressed his body down on mine and I liked the feeling of his lips on mine and the feeling of his strong body.

With a little bit of effort, I pushed him onto his back and he pulled me on top of him. His big hands trailed up my sides and he slowly put them under my shirt. His hands were cold like always and I shivered. Emmett kissed my bare skin that was exposed by him lifting my shirt. His hands found their way up to my bra and he unhooked my bra, pushing himself on top again. The next thing he was doing was taking off his shirt. "Emmett."I whispered his name as he kissed me.

"Yes?" He said kissing my neck. I dug my hands into his back. His hands made their way towards my jeans.

"I want you." I said breathless. His eyes met mine and suddenly they were serious. Emmett pulled his self off of me and sat back. "What's wrong? I'm sorry." I ran my hair through my messy and tried to fix myself. "I'm sorry I don't want you think badly of me, it's just you were kissing me and I—" Emmett put his hand in front of my lips to quiet me.

"I don't think badly of you at all." Emmett kissed me gently on the forehead. "Hormones got the best of the both of us. Trust me, I want you so badly right now." I could see the desire burning in his eyes. "But you know, it's never good to sleep together on the first date and well I didn't bring anything anyways cause I wasn't expecting that." Emmett chuckled.

I blushed at his words. I mean I wasn't a virgin anymore but Emmett was right, we shouldn't sleep together on the first date no matter how much we both wanted it and especially without protection. No babies wanted here right now. I helped Emmett clean up everything and pack it up on the horses who were grazing. A/N: Hey my lovely readers! Sorry it's been so long since I updated! But here's an update finally and I'm going to try to update more frequently(at least one story a week to start). I have one more story to update and all my stories have been updated in the past six months. I also have some new stories if anyone is interested in. Thank you for reading and please review and tell me what you think!

Thanks, QuinnandSeth'sgirl15.

P.S: Sorry that it got a little heated at the end!
