Am I late to updating? yes. yes I am. Am I sorry? Yes and no. I had to take a break from writing this chapter because I had my college finals, and i've got to prepare for high school finals. early college is hell, lemme tell y'all that. anyways, I really hope the length of this chapter makes up for how late it is. Also, can I please ask a small favour of y'all? Those with accepted characters, and even those without accepted characters, please try to review as often as possible. you have no idea how helpful it is to me. Anyways, here's Wonderwa-I mean, the character list.
Also, I made slight mistake in the first prologue chapter because I am a dumbass. I put Kasumi's name as first name last name while introducing him. His name in the Last name First Name format is Iten Kasumi, not Kasumi Iten. That's it. Just a poor creacher, thatse it.

Well there you have it folks, Class 1-A of Uchu Academy. Now, without further ado, the first part of the chapters involving Trial Site A. (Hint hint, there will be two parts for each trial site, meaning four chapters for the trial sites in total, which I hope to have all of them around this long.)
Chapter 1- Trial Site A
"Allow me to restate what the objective is, for all of you sleeping in the crowd." Kasumi cleared his throat, his hot pink eyes flashing from behind his scarlet visor. "During the practical portion of the exam, you will come across a number of villains that will be trying to prevent you from completing your second goal. You are to apprehend these villains, and by apprehending them successfully, you earn points for yourself. Attempt to earn as many points as possible. However, if you are unable to earn points in this way, there is a second method of earning points."
Hoisting the child-like doll out of the bin by the head with one hand, he earned a number of gasps from the crowd, which he waved off with a hand. "Relax, they are animatronics. They can not feel this pain, yet. Your second method involves rescuing the dolls similar to this around your respective trial sites. You will each start with one doll, and will attempt to take it to the middle of the trial site where the injured are being taken care of. Afterwards, you will want to attempt to find any other dolls around the site. Remember, there will be villains attempting to prevent you from this goal." Taking a small device from his belt, he scanned the back of the doll's head. "When you deliver to the doll to the safe site, they will be scanned. Depending on how the doll was handled while being recovered and delivered, this will determine how many points you receive." Seeing the confused faces among the crowd, he decided to demonstrate what he meant. "So, if I were to allow the doll to be injured while attempting to deliver it to the trial site," He said, shaking the doll vigorously as he clenched his hand down on the head. "then I would most likely have points deducted, or receive next to no points. However, if I treat it with care and prevent it from being harmed, I will gain anywhere from one to five points." Popping the doll's head back into place, Kasumi tossed it into the bin.
"As I said, when everyone has made it to the center of the trial site, or when time runs out, the test will end. I wouldn't advise going to the center immediately and staying there, as you would be left with little to no points. I strongly recommend attempting to apprehend as many villains as possible or rescuing as many injured civilians as possible." Kasumi gave a cold glare to every potential student, causing some to shudder under his gaze. "I will see some of you at Trial Site A, those at Trial Site B will be greeted by a different teacher from Uchu." Giving a slow wave, the pink mist in place of his hair grew to form a thick pink gate behind him. Walking backwards into it, the gate disappeared, and so too did Kasumi.
He seems a little forceful for a teacher. . . Genshi kept his thoughts to himself as the lights snapped back on. Students all stood up, forcing their way to the door, pushing others aside. Genshi had been one of the first out, due to sitting nearest to the door. At the two paths, one leading right and one leading left, stood a teacher at each one. They each held a clipboard, and called out sites as the teenagers came up to them. Walking up to one, he gave a yawn before stating his name. "Joutai Genshi." Slowly blinking, he waited as the teacher flipped through multitudes of pages.
"Trial Site A! You will be taking the written test in the building off the site grounds, then you will be taking the practical portion at the actual site!" Despite standing right in front of her, she still yelled the answer. Nodding lazily, he began to walk down the path to Trial Site A. Given that it was in the prime of cherry blossom season, all of Kanazawa was currently a beautiful sight. Uchu was no different. With assorted regular cherry blossom trees and weeping cherry blossoms, Genshi couldn't help but to feel a little at peace in the light pink of the campus. The lawn of the campus itself was made of more flowers than grass, with lilies, camellias, and tulips dominating the landscape. Pink and red rose bushes formed distinct lines as they towered above the protective walls that circled the campus.
Taking a moment to tear his attention away from the beautiful floral scheme of the academy, he looked ahead of him. Trial Site A was gigantic, easily mimicking the size of an actual city. It dwarfed the small building just outside of the site gates. "Looks like that's where we'll be taking the written exam. . ." Genshi's words came out slowly as he fiddled with the cartilage piercings in his right ear. He had thought about taking the multiple piercings out for the practical exam, but he decided to just leave them in. Without thinking about it, his hand moved to his exposed stomach as it began to caress the rose-themed navel piercing that dangled downwards. He hadn't realized it, but it almost seemed to give a slight jingle with every step.
As the clouds moved in the sky, the sun glared into Genshi's eyes. Wincing at the pain, he cursed himself for forgetting his sunglasses. Gazou had worked him so much that his migraine seemed to dull out for the morning. Taking a look around, and seeing that no adults were around, his right hand began to glow as he began to use his Quirk. Before long, a large pair of hot pink sunglasses formed in his hand. Putting them on, he sighed as the pain from the light seemed to mellow down. Much better.
Did he frequently use his Quirk for meaningless things like making a can of whipped cream? Yes. However, he had learned to do it when there wasn't an adult around, as he had received enough reprimands in the past for using it when he shouldn't. Had he used his Quirk to make things that were extremely expensive that he couldn't afford? Also, yes. However, most of the time, he was able to rely on Azumi to buy him anything like that. He didn't care much for the fact that he wasn't helping the cash flow in the economy, as he knew that buying items like that often only helped sweatshops and child labour to stay in business. Plus, what had the economy ever done for his family? It spit on his family and kicked them while they were down.
Realizing that he had begun to dig his nails into his palms, he released his fist. Fuck the economy. It was rather ironic that despite his obvious negative feelings towards the wealthy as a whole, he still got along with Azumi so well. In fact, he didn't have a problem with most wealthy people individually. It was the head of the wealthiest people on earth, who refused to help those in need. The ones who could fix world hunger, but instead, made new machines to ruin the world more and more. Anything for money. Those were the people that he had vowed to himself to backhand if he ever met them.
Letting out a stream of steam from the sides of his mouth, he took deep breaths in to calm himself down. He had something to focus on. Uchu Academy. That's what mattered at the moment. He heard the large number of students behind him on the trail, talking and chatting with each other. Considering Azumi had yet to find him, he could only assume she was at the second trial site. So for the time being, he would be by himself.
"Hey, please don't ask any questions. Act like a long time friend of mine, please. Someone weird is trying to follow me." An upbeat, almost cute voice whispered close to him. Looking downwards, Genshi was greeted by a girl whose appearance matched her voice. Long, waist length pastel pink hair tied up in two twintails, doe-eyed with hot pink irises shaped like hearts. Genshi thought to himself how she almost seemed adorable, in a little sister kind of way. Taking a glance back, he saw a strangely stubbly guy, most likely sixteen, trailing close behind.
Taking a deep breath in, he turned back to the girl and spoke in a high pitched, enthusiastic tone. "Oh my gods, hey girl! How are you!? I thought you were trying for U.A?" Quickly wrapping the girl in a hug, he lifted her up before setting her down. His eyes narrowed as they locked on to the man who had been following the girl. Seeming discouraged from whatever his previous goal was, he slowed down and fell far behind the two. Turning back to the girl, he sighed as he spoke in his standard bored tone. "Well, that takes care of that. Glad you're safe. If he gives you anymore trouble, you can tell me."
"Thank you! By the way, I'm Odori Utau! Please, call me Utau." Utau outstretched her small hand towards Genshi, who slowly stopped walking to turn to the girl.
His eyes wandered to her hand, and then back to her eyes. "Joutai Genshi. You can call me Genshi if you want, or you can call me Joutai." Giving a light shrug, he lazily took her hand and shook it. If she was going to be a potential classmate, he might as well attempt to make friends. After all, unless someone gave him a reason to hate them, it'd be best to make friends with anyone who could potentially be a classmate. "So, Utau, why are you going to Uchu? Why not Shiketsu or U.A?" Quickly checking his phone, he reckoned that he still had a few minutes before the written exam began. Beginning to walk slowly, but still stay close to Utau, he made his way into the small building by the trial site.
The inside of the building was rather bland, with a few classrooms filled with orderly seats. Stopping outside of the first room, he leaned against the wall as he turned to the girl. Utau took a breath in, to which Genshi prepared for a long winded answer. "Well, despite my family all being idols, I figured that I could be a hero with my Quirk. Of course, I'll still try to be an idol at the same time too!" Utau clenched her fist close to her chest, a wide smile plastered across her face. "Plus, I want to bring a smile to everyone's faces with my voice!"
Genshi slowly nodded at the girl, his eyes looking over her and then looking around the building. "You're an idol?"
"Yeah! Odori, remember? My sisters and I form the Budding Beauties! I'm "Sonet Rose"!" Utau's smile grew even wider as Genshi's face slowly matched his confusion. However, it donned on him that her being famous would explain quite a bit. There were a good number of students who had been muttering about some "Sonet Rose" in the auditorium, and it would explain the boldness of the man earlier. Plus, as students began to pour into the building in troves, they all whispered as they passed the duo
"I've never heard of you guys." Giving a small smile of his own, he patted Utau on the shoulder as he stood upright. "But, I'm sure you all are great. I'll see you during the test." Turning into the classroom, he asked the proctor present where he was supposed to go. After being told that he was seated in a different classroom, he waved to Utau as he walked down the hallway.
I'll see you in the test, Joutai Genshi. Utau nodded as she asked the proctor where she was supposed to be sitting. As she sat down, she felt a confidence within her. I'll get into Uchu, and I'll make sure to always bring a smile to all of my fan's faces. Not just my fans. . . Everyone.
The written exam seemed to pass quickly, with each room practically vibrating as every single student couldn't stand waiting for the practical exam. After all, who would want to be sitting around taking a test when they could be fighting and saving people, even if it was just a trial. They had grown up seeing heroes fight off villains, and they had wanted to do that very same thing. So, when they got the chance to be like the people they had looked up to for so long, of course they were going to be excited.
Hakuryu Takamori was no exception to this. His right leg bounced sporadically and his head bobbed back and forth as if he was listening to music as he stared patiently at the clock. He had done his best on the test, but he finished it fairly quick. Now, it was all waiting. Everything seemed to go silent as the clock edged ever so close to the next hour. Come on, come on. . . Finally, as if the hands of time could hear his anticipation, the clock hit noon.
"Please place all pencils down and make your way to Trial Site A's entrance gate." Almost throwing himself out of the classroom, Hakuryu was out of the building and in front of the gate in no time. Standing there, Kasumi began to patiently hand out the animatronic dolls to the students as they walked up. Taking a second to examine the small doll, his eyes found themselves wandering away and instead inspecting the gigantic size of the large mock city in front of him.
As Kasumi finished handing out the first set of dolls, his hair formed a number of small gates on the ground. Picking up the rest of the dolls, he nonchalantly tossed them into different portals, at one point even stifling a yawn. "I'm sure you all recall the rules and objectives of the test, so I won't repeat them. If you do not remember them, then I suggest you leave now. Heroes should be able to remember the details of their missions, they should not be so forgetful as to forget them after a simple exam." Well, that was rather. . . blunt. Hakuryu rubbed the back of his neck as he waited for Kasumi to start the test. From where he had been walking away, he turned back to the crowd of students. "What are you all waiting for? The test has already begun."
It seemed like it took a few moments for what the teacher had said to sink in, but when it had, chaos seemed to break loose. Applicants practically trampled each other to get into the gate first. Not wanting to get caught in the mob of students, Hakuryu angled himself on the ground. Clutching the doll to his chest, he pushed off the ground with all of his force. The force was so great that it broke a small crater in the ground, and the wave of pressurized air caused some to stop in their tracks out of surprise. Soaring through the air, Hakuryu was easily above the rest of the crowd as he neared the intersection of the mock city.
Turning his body, he kicked again, this time managing to make enough force to keep himself in the air for just a little bit longer. Slowly, he began to regain his footing on the ground. His wild white hair began to settle down, his small fringe of hair slowly settling back over his left eye. His large baby blue eyes scanned the area around him as he quickly ran through the streets. Despite how fast he was going, he still stepped lightly. He didn't want to alert the villains to where he was. As he neared the corner of a building, he took cover, crouching low to the ground as he listened for anything. In the distance, he could already hear the sound of fighting. However, as everything around him seemed to grow silent, he heard it. Loud footsteps, every step being followed by the clanking of metal. Ever so slightly peeking his head out from behind the corner, he was almost taken back by what he saw.
The villain resembled a man in the face, in fact, if that was all he had seen, he would've thought it was an actual person. But the limbs seemed to be made entirely of mechanical parts, with the right arm ending in a large blade and the left arm ending in a gatling gun-like object. A cyborg? No, those don't exist. Looking closer, he could see that the torso seemed to be made entirely out of robotic parts as well. It must be an animatronic too. . . Nodding to himself, Hakuryu made sure that the doll was secured before he began his attack.
Sliding outwards, the animatronic gave a number of clicks and whirs as it recognized it's target. Raising its left arm, it began to fire a number of projectiles at the boy. Bobbing and weaving, Hakuryu attempted to dodge what he could. The robot's movements were simple and seemingly slowed by the machinery. Gradually getting closer, he slid underneath the bullets, still gripping the doll tight to his chest.
From the ground, Hakuryu pushed himself off of the ground with his right leg, swinging his left leg towards the left arm of the robot. Feeling his muscles strengthen inside of both legs, momentum carried him as his leg ruptured the links between metal within the arm. Bolts and nuts seemed to fly as the arm was removed from the body. However, this didn't seem to phase the robotic villain, which swung its bladed arm downwards with a previously unseen speed.
Barely evading the attack, Hakuryu's legs had moved on their own as he pushed himself into the air. Holding his left leg close to him while his right leg was outstretched, the wind whipped through his hair as he seemed to speed up as gravity brought him back to the ground. Tensing his right leg up, he positioned himself mid-air for an attack. As he came down, pain momentarily shot through his leg as it broke the robot's bladed arm from its shoulder. Leaving the robot defenseless, Hakuryu decided to finish the battle off. He couldn't take forever on these fights, there was only a certain amount of time, and there were bound to be more difficult mock villains in the test. Swinging his left leg around from where it was clutched close to him, his heel made contact with the robot's head. Feeling the machinery behind his feet, Hakuryu rooted his right leg into the ground as he provided more force behind his kick.
With the sound of the robot audibly losing its power, its head began to rip away from the rest of the body. Regaining his footing, Hakuryu let out a short breath of steam. He wiped his brow as he prepared to head for the center of the site. Crouching low to the ground, he jumped upwards, landing on the top of one of the smaller buildings. "If I go on and get this one to the center, I can go find more." Nodding to himself, Hakuryu found himself jumping from the top of buildings to the next, steadily going towards the center as fast as he could. The center was easily recognizable due to the lack of buildings around it, and the wide amount of stadium lights around the center.
As the wind cut through his hair like blades through gelatin, he found himself getting closer and closer to his destination. It's probably not the best idea, but if I don't have a doll with me, I should be able to beat the villains easier. . . As he landed on the building nearest to the center, he sighed. The way it was described, it seemed like it would be a lot easier. I feel sorry for the people that have to run to the center on the ground. . . Jumping downwards, his feet were comforted by the sweet caress of grass instead of the hardness of cement and asphalt. Kasumi sat on a chair in the middle of the safe zone, clicking through his phone. As Hakuryu walked up to him, he snapped his hand outwards. "Doll." Letting his arms loosen, he found them to be quite stiff from how closely he held it to his chest the entire time. Slowly handing the doll over, the tall man snatched it from the boy's hands without looking up. Taking the small device from his belt that he had shown earlier during the information briefing, he scanned the back of the doll's head. "Three points." Tossing the doll forcefully into the bin beside him, he went back to looking through his phone. "Best get going, I don't think you're going to get very far with eight points."
The villain I fought earlier was worth five points? It's a start. . . Nodding, Hakuryu rushed to leave the site. However, as he jumped upwards and out of the safe zone, metal tendrils wrapped themselves around the boy's right leg. Before he could react, he was slammed into the ground. Pulling himself up from the crater in the ground, he looked towards the source of the attack. Rapidly approaching him, a far more sinister and robotic version of the villain he had encountered earlier prepared its next attack. "Shit, that's not good." Rolling out of the way, Hakuryu had barely managed to evade a large chunk of cement being thrown towards him.
Giving him little to no time to react, the robot had seemingly teleported to his position. Still attempting to get himself off of the ground, Hakuryu was struck by a metallic fist, embedding itself inside the boy's back. However, before he could get away from another attack, the villain grabbed him by the back of his jacket. Slinging him upwards, it attempted to throw the boy into a nearby wall.
On an act of quick thinking, Hakuryu removed his jacket at the last second before he was thrown. As he landed on the ground, he quickly jumped upwards. Kicking upwards again into the air, he began to ricochet himself between the rooftops. Metallic tendrils attempted to snare him, however, he appeared to had built up so much momentum that he was unstoppable at that moment.
Like a pinball inside a machine, he finally stopped ricocheting around and angled himself towards the robot. The ground was rapidly approaching, and he began to feel dizzy and nauseous. However, pushing the feeling down inside of him, Hakuryu felt his legs begin to strengthen yet again as he poured more and more of his quirk into them.
Hakuryu Takamori
Quirk:Hops
Hakuryu's Quirk grants him massive amounts of leg strength, allowing him to leap tremendous heights, ricochet in the air and on buildings, as well as kick with amazing force.
Feeling both legs connect with the robotic villain, he expected the battle to be over after that attack, despite the rattling around in his head. Although, he was soon proved wrong, as metal encased both legs. Thrashing him around, the robot slammed the boy into the ground, causing the asphalt to rupture around the two. Letting him go, the villain jumped backwards. "Takamori, Hakuryu. . ." Its voice matched the cold robotic exterior. Suddenly, a haunting tune came from the mouth of the robot. Beautiful, encapturing, but haunting. As Hakuryu attempted to recover from the attack, he felt goosebumps creep across his fair, although bloodied, skin. Getting himself to a kneeling position, the boy looked to his opponent as blood attempted to drown out his right eye.
Forming from the metal tendrils, a somewhat thin, featureless robotic villain manifested. Although still connected by metal tendrils, it appeared to be an entirely capable enemy as well. As he looked at the duo, Hakuryu remembered an important message from Kasumi during the information briefing.
There will be a total of five important villains surrounding the center of the trial site, with a different variation for each trial site. These five will be anywhere from fifty to two hundred points. The five, in no particular order, are known as, "Puppet Master", "Tank", "Inferno", "Dancer", and "Mastermind". These five will be significantly more dangerous than any others you encounter. You must decide whether you will face them or avoid them. These choices are important for heroes.
Hakuryu thought of the choices for a moment. Looks like this must be the "Puppet Master". Catching him off guard, the two robots struck him from either side, the puppet hitting him into the original opponent's attack. Things just got a lot harder. . .
As her voice rose ever higher, the pink sword in Utau's hand seemed to grow ever stronger. Slicing through metal and links, she managed to bisect the robot in front of her. However, as the villain gave a final attack, she let out a soft lullaby from her mouth. Pink particles, beginning to jumble together, formed on her back in the shape of hummingbird wings. Quickly gliding upwards, she barely managed to evade the explosion made from the gasoline chamber that bulged from the chest of the villain. Shrapnel flew around her, cutting her skin and flesh alike.
Wincing at the pain, she landed silently as the wings on her back seemed to dissipate into nothingness. Turning her head around, she looked to the bag on her back made of the same pink particles as her sword and wings were. All three dolls are still there. Nodding to herself, she ran through the streets of the mock city. The setting of the trial was so different from the rest of Kanazawa that it actually surprised her. In fact, most of Uchu was far more modern and new age as compared to its location.
The sound of metallic clanking caused Utau to snap around, her steadily loosening pastel pink twin tails finally coming undone as a metallic fist buried itself into her stomach, followed by an elbow connecting with her face. Her rose hair pins fell onto the ground, getting decorated with a few drops of blood that had snaked their way down Utau's arms. Grabbing hold of the arm that had elbowed her, she tightened her grip on the cold upper arm. Singing a low tune, an additional pink arm manifested, grabbing hold of the villain's forearm. Giving off a loud shout, she hoisted the robot over her head as she slammed it into the hard cement. As a slow groan escaped her lips, she put her hands on her knees and took in deep breaths. The pink arm slowly wavered before it finally seemed to almost pop like a balloon, the pink particles scattering before they faded into the air. As the villain stirred in the ground, she stepped over to it as she sung a shaky tune that resembled whistling. A thin blade connected to her right palm manifested as it pierced the enemy's throat.
Sighing as the robot powered off, her eyes darted around. Reaching into her pouch on her side, she grabbed a water bottle. Taking a few gulps, she felt the dryness in her throat creep away. Attempting to sing a few different ranges, she found the hoarseness of her voice had gone away as well, for the moment at least. Capping the bottle, she began to sprint through the alleyways between the buildings, noticing various dolls crammed in inconvenient places. Well, it seems Kasumi's portals treat the dolls like he does. . . Giving a soft laugh at the demeanor of the Uchu instructor, she picked up any dolls she had seen. After managing to gather up at least three more dolls, she found herself in the center of the trial site for the second time since the trial had started. She had to sneak quietly to get into the center, given the dangerous villains around the center. It appeared that more and more people had begun to make their way to the center, as well as some greatly prioritizing gathering dolls. One girl seemed to be pouring dolls out of her left hand, not so much like a portal that Kasumi would make, but rather as if they were stored in her body.
Looking at the number of dolls that others had, six dolls seemed minuscule. However, she brought them up to Kasumi nonetheless. "Drop your dolls, and get out of here. Heroes can't spend all of their time waiting for the results of the person they saved." Setting them lightly on the ground, her heart shaped irises looking over every doll with a soft gaze. Remembering the urgency of getting as many points as possible, she made her way towards the exit of the center. Looking to her left, and then to her right, she darted out of the center and through the ring that circled the safe zone.
With a laugh of immense grandeur, Utau found herself caught off guard by a barrage of large metallic spikes from the ground. "A new challenger? Won't you dance with me?" Unlike the silent mock villains Utau had fought before, this robot talked with a voice that rose and fell like a performer. It looked far slimmer than the rest of the villains, with metallic tendrils on its head that fell like a curly bob. The metallic spikes on the ground had begun to retract to the feet of the robot. Suddenly, the high voice fell low and grew sinister. "You look like you'll be awfully fun to mutilate. . ."
"You underestimate the Sonet Rose, Dancer!" Utau let out a sound that resembled a low growl from the back of her throat. From behind her, hundreds of particles began to cram themselves together into small knives. After the blades were fully formed, she sung a high tune, like the climax of an operatic song. With unimaginable speed and force, the knives flew towards the robot.
Dancer's metallic eyes fluttered as it seemed to move effortlessly through the gaps between the blades. With every step, a new set of metallic spikes shot from its body. Utau actively bobbed and weaved as the spikes came towards her, mimicking Dancer's movement. For the moment, it seemed as though the two were copies of each other. Dodging blades coming towards them, and exchanging their own set of attacks in between. "My my, you definitely are quite some fun." With a crack of its heel, the ground fractured underneath it as steel stakes ruptured forth from underneath Utau. Jumping upwards, Utau was able to avoid the stakes that attempted to impale her arms, however, her legs were not so lucky. Piercing her calves, Utau felt the sharp pain seem to pulse through her body. Wincing, she sung a light light-hearted tune that caused a large shield to form near her feet. Angling her body, the shield made contact with the stakes, sliding down and building up Utau's momentum. Letting out a loud tune that seemed more like a shout, a large, yet light, warhammer formed within her hands.
Utau gritted her teeth as she swung the hammer behind her. I only have a single moment before I reach it, I can't slip up! With as much strength as she could muster, Utau slammed the hammer around. As it connected with Dancer, Utau reached within herself for more strength. Giving a triumphant yell, she pushed the sonokinetic weapon harder. Finally, the hammer flung Dancer into a nearby building, the windows shattering as the robot crashed through them.
"I was right!" Dancer's hauntingly cheerful voice rose from the rubble. "You are fun, Odori-chan!" Rising from it's impact site, half of its human-resembling face had fallen away, cracking like a porcelain doll as it revealed the mechanisms behind the face.
It's still functioning after that?! Utau's eyes widened as Dancer slowly walked out from the building. Her legs threatened to give out as blood trailed down her legs from the stab wounds. However, as she trembled in a mixture of fear and anticipation, a smile managed to break through her face, starting out small and growing from ear to ear. Humming a soothing lullaby, bandages began to form around her legs, tightly compressing the wounds. Let's do this. Crouching low to the ground, Utau mustered all of the strength inside of her legs, ignoring the pain that shot through. Giving off a piercing tune that could rally armies, long blades formed from her wrists.
Utau Odori
Quirk:Melody Maker
Using her voice, Utau is able to make sonokinetic constructs that vary in their power given how loud her voice is. These constructs remain even after she has stopped singing.
Pushing off of the ground, Utau rushed the robot with all of her might. Rearing her arms, she thrusted both towards her opponent. However, before she could make contact, Dancer grabbed hold of her fists. Using her own momentum, Dancer hoisted the small girl into the air, before slamming her down into the ground behind it. Utau felt the glass cut into her back as she began to open her eyes from the impact.
As her eyes opened though, she was greeted by a metallic fist hurling towards her from above. Realizing that it would hit her throat, she quickly held her arms in a cross-guard. The force behind the punch was strong, but she was able to block it.
Rolling to the right, she quickly jumped to her feet, beginning to whistle a high pitched tune. Beside her, a thin blade formed in the air, prompting a smile to form on the remaining half of Dancer's cracking face. From the smile grew a maniacal, almost murderous grin. "Amuse me, Odori-chan!" Slamming its right foot into the ground, mountainous spikes erupted towards Utau, as well as encompassing the entirety of the surrounding area.
Adrenaline pumping through the small girl, Utau twirled into the air as she obtained a number of cuts along her body. Whistling sharply, the blade she'd formed shot through the air, rupturing Dancer's right arm connections, before changing directions as Utau whistled a lower tune. Breaking the connections of Dancer's left arm, both limbs fell to the ground as the dust began to settle from the recent large scale attack. Kicking off of one of Dancer's spikes, Utau found her way back into the open streets of the trial site.
Turning around slowly, Dancer's half-grin seemed to only grow wider. "Odori-chan, you missed the most important parts." Utau watched as Dancer's arms melted on the ground, forming pools of metal that crept towards Utau like shadows in a dark alley. "In fact, you've made a problem for yourself." With no delay, the pool of metal began to rapidly form spikes, branching off like a tree of death. In contrast to the previous spikes, concrete in their ways of staying one shape, these were worse. More dynamic. They actively sought out Utau.
Singing her tune for her wings, she quickly flew upwards. It'd be best to leave, I can't beat it. As she flew towards the top of the buildings, she was stopped as the branching spikes pierced the sonokinetic wings, as well as rupturing her injuries on her legs far worse than they had been before.
"We are having fun, Odori-chan. Don't leave me."
Genshi yawned as he looked from corner to corner of the alleys he walked through, stopping every so often when he heard the occasional sounds of a villain walking by. He had already turned in two dolls to Kasumi, he wasn't worried about finding any others. He was focused on taking down villains, at least, the big ones in the center of the site. Those would be the ones to get him all of the points he needed, which was all he was focused on at the moment.
"Joutai Genshi." A sinister voice came from behind him, causing Genshi to snap around. Holding both hands up, preparing to absorb the atoms of his enemy. The mock villain in front of him was different from the others he had fought. They seemed more . . . organic. Like they weren't a fake animatronic. But that didn't matter, they were still a villain nonetheless. Shooting his hand outwards, he wasn't prepared for the enemy to dodge his attack. Sidestepping away from his hand, the robot quickly smashed it's fist into his jaw throwing him upwards. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jinzou." As a second pair of robotic arms sprouted underneath Jinzou's original set, they smashed each fist into the boy's slumped figure on the ground.
Genshi spit out blood that dripped from his gums, wiping his face with his arm. "Nice name, looks like it's about to go to waste." From the ground, Genshi quickly swept his leg towards Jinzou, only to have it coated in metal and rooted to the ground. Twisting his leg, Genshi ignored the terrible pain as he forced his body against the muscles, almost feeling them begin to rip. Holding both hands towards Jinzou, both arms began to glow vibrantly as the air around the boy began to crackle with electricity. As Genshi began to release the bolts of electricity from his arms, metal encased both limbs as a fist grounded itself in his face, followed by being kicked in his stomach multiple times. Without realizing it, bile escaped his mouth as he was repeatedly kicked like a bullied child in junior high.
Activating his quirk in his arms, he absorbed the atoms of the metal casing. Before Jinzou could react, he grabbed the robot's leg as it headed towards his core. Tossing the robot towards the brick wall, he absorbed a chunk of their metallic leg at the last moment. Quick to get himself out of a sticky situation, Genshi absorbed the casing on his legs next, hobbling upwards as pain ripped through his legs. "Joutai-san, if you think it's going to be that easy at Uchu, you are sorely mistaken." Unable to react in time, Genshi was greeted by a blade through his right bicep. Crying out in pain, Genshi attempted to balance himself on his good leg, feeling pain shoot through his body as he set his damaged leg on the ground. Quickly throwing his hands to the ground, they began to glow as a large iron wall erupted from the ground in front of him, separating Jinzou for the moment.
Looking to his leg, Genshi was able to see the main source of his pain. Steeling himself for what he was about to do, Genshi quickly popped his leg back into place from its dislocated state, gritting his teeth as he confirmed his ripped muscles. What the hell, it's not like the others. Turning, he began to hop away as he lightly placed his leg to the ground with every hop.
However, he stopped as a sound came from the wall of iron. Turning back, he came face to face with a mass of metallic wires, ensnaring him and slamming him into the wall. Letting him up for a moment, his face was planted into the wall yet again. "Joutai-san, do you know why Uchu is still in third in the top Hero Academies?" The sinister voice seemed to reverberate through the metal as they cruelly smashed the boy's face into a bloody pulp.
As the wires began to bring Genshi towards the wall for another attack, he channeled his Quirk into his chest. As his torso made contact, he absorbed the wall, quickly channeling the atoms into his hands. Coming face to face with Jinzou, Genshi turned his hands outwards as he released a torrent of white flames on his enemy. His lips twitched upwards as his brow furrowed in anger towards the annoying enemy. It may have been overkill, but he allowed the flames to begin to exit his arms as well, gradually until his shoulders were engulfed in the fire as they incinerated the robotic villain. "This is for making me ruin my shirt."
Allowing the flames to die down, he looked on as a charred exoskeleton stood motionless in the spot of his enemy. Taking a deep breath out, steam escaped Genshi's mouth as he turned around. But the sound of machinery bursting to life caught his attention yet again. Turning around, Genshi looked in awe as where the exoskeleton had once been bare, Jinzou stood as if nothing had happened. "Before you so rudely interrupted me, I was asking you a question." Jinzou's arm shot forward with blinding speed, Genshi's eyes being unable to track it. Before he knew it, a hand threatened to cut off his air, gripping his throat with overwhelming force. Genshi clawed at the hand, attempting to absorb the atoms, but only finding the missing chunks to replace themselves. "As I was saying, we are still third and not higher for one major reason." Stretching its arm, and Genshi with it, high in the air, Jinzou flung the boy down to the ground like the impact of a comet. "Most quit before they finish their time here."
Genshi's limbs felt like jelly as he threw up the contents of his stomach, which had been reduced to little more than stomach acid, on the fractured pavement in front of him. Blood began to flow down his face, threatening to blind his left eye in a river of the thick crimson fluid. Shakily placing his hand on the fractured pavement beside him, he absorbed the atoms from the stone as he hitched a breath in. "You talk too much." Activating his Quirk, he caused the ground in front of him to morph into monstrous spikes, prompting the weapons towards his enemy like an army marching to war. The area around the two fighters changed horrendously, buildings crumbling down as they mixed into the spikes and spears of the earth, turning the area into something reminiscent of a nuclear bomb site.
Removing his hands from the ground, Genshi looked around as the waves of earthen weapons began to become one with their source yet again. However, there was only one thing that Genshi cared about. Jinzou. He wanted to make sure the thorn in his side had been removed. "Quite the monstrous Quirk, but you've got a bad case of tunnel vision." Genshi barely had time to spin around as Jinzou's robotic hand clasped his throat. "It seems like we're going in circles here." As Jinzou held out their other arm, Genshi felt a lump form in his throat. Their hand slowly began to morph into a large saw-like piece of machinery. As his lips twitched upwards in anger, Genshi planted his foot into Jinzou's stomach, discharging bolts of electricity from his leg.
As the electricity short-circuited Jinzou's systems, Genshi kicked himself away from the robot, as well as getting some ground from his enemy. Jinzou wasn't Tousei. They weren't going to hold any punches. He knew the only reason he hadn't collapsed yet was because of the adrenaline pumping through his veins. The second his body was drained of it, he would be out. I've got to make it count. In a bizarre act, Genshi quickly removed his messy black shoes, standing barefoot on the ground. Suddenly, a crater began to form around him, starting from his left side, while his right foot began to glow vibrantly. As his black hair became more and more of a neon purple, the earth around him solidified into thick stone, forming waves that began to batter Jinzou with unrelenting force.
Stretching both arms towards his target, Genshi attempted to keep track of his opponent as streams of white fire began to heat up the stone coming from in front of him. Lava should be thick enough to prevent any reconstruction… I hope so at least. Sure enough, as the fire continued to make impact with the stone, it began to glow as it liquefied.
There is more to him than it seems. Jinzou narrowly evaded the lava that threatened their mechanical body, as well as ducking and dodging the beams of flames that came for them occasionally. I guess it would be best to amp up the difficulty quite a bit. Holding their forearms upwards, Jinzou formed large shields that covered their body. Thrusters formed behind their legs, propelling them through the space between the two opponents. As they got close, it was clear to Jinzou that Genshi was rapidly losing energy from the massive attacks he attempted to use at first, as well as his body attempting to use his energy to keep adrenaline pumping. But that was no reason for Jinzou to take it easy on the boy.
Planting their leg into Genshi's face, Jinzou quickly applied metal casing to the boy's right arm as they turned mid-air to unleash a barrage of punches, battering his body even more. Placing casing on his other arm, Jinzou picked the boy up and threw him across the ruined ground like a ragdoll, keeping him out of his own lava.
Genshi's hair was caked in blood and sweat, and his face was dyed red as his breaths became more painful. Bruises spotted his skin like a dalmatian's spots, with blood oozing from various gashes. Shakily lifting himself up from the ground, he quickly formed a large dome around himself made of crystalline graphene to buy himself some time. However, given the loud crashes on the dome outside, he figured he didn't have much time.
For the moment though, he allowed his eyes to close as he took deeper breaths in, his heart beginning to slow its rapid beating.
As her long brunette hair began to come loose from it's high ponytail style, Niikura jumped away from the robot that had been rigged to explode. Her light pink eyes looked for the nearest possible target, wanting to get as many enemies taken down as possible. She knew she wasn't specially suited to rescuing the dolls, so she had put her focus on the villains.
Hearing a slight rumble, she held tightly to the pipes on the side of the building in the alley she waited in, feeling something similar to an earthquake underneath her as she heard the distant sound of buildings crashing. Show offs, using their flashy Quirks for all they want. Tightening her hair back up, she lightly brushed the bangs on her face to the left, a look of determination clear on her face.
"Hero, surrender now or face defeat." Niikura recognized the voice as one of the more advanced mock villains. As she had come to find out, in the trial, there were three regular villains that you could come across. The "Gun-Blades", the "Boomers", and the "Armoured Humans". The last was the only one with a voice box, and one of the harder ones to defeat, even if they resembled a regular human that was just completely clad in metal. Turning to face the voice, Niikura was greeted by a mob of multiple Armoured Humans.
Eyes darting from robot to robot, pieces of them began to light up in her field of vision. Places of major amounts of tension, pieces that held together other parts of the body. A smirk began to form on her face as she nonchalantly tucked her diamond necklace back under her black cashmere sweater. Sliding her right foot forward slowly, she began to crouch low to the ground, her left arm held behind her in a fist, balled and held upwards behind her head. Her right hand was held outwards in a knife-like position, palm positioned upwards as her fingers remained stiff. Time seemed to grow thick, the wind ceasing its howling as both Niikura and the mob seemed to be at a standstill.
Finally, as sound seemed to return to their plane of existence, Niikura closed the space between her and the mob within a blink of an eye, blitzing for the group. Looking to the bright yellow parts on the bots, she placed strategic hits on the stress points she saw. For some, it was enough to dislodge and break off the connecting limb. For others, it only partially weakened the stress point. Her lip sneered upwards as she continued to hit the stress points. However, it was clear that she might've been in over her head. The main Armored Human of the group, the one who had called out to her, rammed its fist into her stomach as she neared him, before bashing it's knee into her nose.
Niikura's eyes watered as she felt blood begin to pour from her nostrils. Taking advantage of her position, she grabbed hold of the bot's knee. Hoisting herself into the air, she swung the robot from the ground and bashed one of its fellow villains with it, tossing the two enemies across the ground as she landed on her feet, catching herself from slipping.
Regaining her earlier position, she quickly delivered a sharp chop to the nape of one of the villains, recognizing a fracture point in the neck. Sure enough, as she hit the nape, a power cell jutted out of the front of the villain's neck. In a blur of punches, she battered the bot before slamming her fist into the power cell. Quickly grabbing up one of the defeated bots, she shielded herself with its metallic corpse as the cracked power cell caused the villain to explode in a violent fashion, its body seizing as its internal processors and functions began to lose control.
The explosion took out a few of the villains, but it was nowhere near enough to lessen the load on her. If you're watching this, CC, I hope you are proud. Taking her robotic shield, she plunged her hand into its neck as she grabbed hold of the power cell buried within. Ripping it out, she placed it into one of the internal pockets of her sweater. She had a plan, she just had to make sure it played out correctly. Tossing the metallic body at the legs of a nearby enemy, she flung her body in a kick towards the core of another.
However, she felt her momentum pick up as the villain grabbed her ankle, its vice-like grip crushing her ankle. Swinging her around, it flung her body into the pavement with tremendous force. As the mob finally got the better of her, she felt herself picked up by her ponytail. Her tears mixed with blood that came from a large gash on her temple as her eyes met her attacker. "Heroes must be able to power through even the toughest group of enemies, or have the common sense to escape when they are in over their head." Niikura was tossed around the group as she was battered in kicks, punches, elbows, and more.
Taking a deep breath in, Niikura's eyes snapped open as she examined the enemies before her. Just as they did earlier, pieces of their body began to glow a brilliant yellow, contrasting their dull grey and black bodies. Rearing a fist back, she slammed it into the kneecap of one enemy, causing the lower leg to dislodge and break away from the body. Grabbing the leg before it fell to the ground, Niikura twisted in the air reminiscent of a graceful acrobat. Burying the metallic foot deep in the head of the nearest robot's head, she plunged her hand into the head, grabbing its power cell. Quickly pocketing it with the other cell, she landed on the ground with her body low. Sweeping her right leg underneath the surrounding enemies, she knocked them off their feet.
Eyes scanning each enemy, she pinpointed the weakest fracture points, and the most devastating points to attack. Crunching her right hand to have the first joints of her fingers pointed outwards in a sharp fashion, she struck the fracture points at the core of each bot, causing the links to loosen in their bodies. Turning sharply, she slid underneath the remaining bots as she hit the stress points behind their knees, causing many to fall to their knees. Taking advantage of the crippled enemies, she grabbed the power cells from her pocket and crushed them between her hands. Counting her few seconds she had, she attempted to keep her plan in motion. Tossing the power cells to the center of the group, she hit the fracture points at the nape of a few nearby robots that had fallen to their knees.
She had to quickly jump backwards to avoid the blunt of the explosion, but still sustained a number of burns on her front side from the combined explosion, charring her skin. However, as the smoke began to clear from the explosion, Niikura was greeted with a wonderful sight. Metal lay melting as bits and pieces of the mob were scattered around, but ultimately, the group was defeated. She had managed to beat them without some big showy Quirk.
Dropping down, she let her legs stretch out in front of her as she caught her breath. Wiping the blood from her face, she placed her bright red palms to the ground. Her body heaved up and down as sweat dripped down her body, stinging the burn marks. Looking up, she was horrified at the scene of the explosion. As if they were being recalled to a source point, every bot that was part of the mob, defeated by the explosion or not, began to liquefy and link back together near the source of the explosion.
Like the horrible monstrosity made by Frankenstein, the Armored Humans formed a monstrous humanoid version of themselves, however, their various heads stuck out of the gigantic bulging chest. The arms gained large spikes, and each fist bulged out to be far larger than the rest of the arm. Once the body fully finished forming, the combined bot was easily as tall as the smaller buildings around.
Immediately, Niikura's vision lit up like a switchboard as she stumbled to her feet. Fracture points, stress points, joints, all of the bits and pieces holding the monstrosity together.
Niikura Hatsuka
Quirk: Peak
Peak allows Niikura to see all of the stress points, fracture points, as well as structural weaknesses in an object or person. Along with this, Niikura is also able to control almost every autonomous bodily function, as well as a few other effects.
Niikura was barely able to evade the monstrous fist that came for her with shockingly quick speed, jumping to the right as the ground fractured where the fist landed. Taking advantage of the situation, she jumped on the large fist and began to run up the arm. Her eyes locked on to the fracture point of the shoulder, recognizing it as the point that kept the arm connected.
As she neared the shoulder, she jumped upwards as she prepared to plant her fist through the fracture point. However, as she began her descent towards the shoulder, she was smacked into a nearby building by the other hand, which she had foolishly taken her eyes off of. With the force of the hit, Niikura was thrown through the wall of the building.
As she picked herself out of the rubble, she was greeted with the glaring metallic eye of the gargantuan robot.
Royal blue eyes looked over the large group of enemies in front of Kitsuen as he moved his wavy sky blue hair away from his eyes. The group were easier mock villains, at least, from what he could tell they were. Taking a deep breath in, his eyes lightly closed. However, with inhuman speed, they snapped open as a smile split his face in half.
"Let's get this going!" His energetic voice seemed to echo around the buildings in front of him. Holding his hands down, but low to his body, snow began to pour from his body in a thick stream, funneling through the space in amazing speeds. It filled the space, and despite moving so fluidly, it hit the robots as if it was solid. The attack was enough to take out majority of the enemies, however, a few remained.
In a traitorous act, the remaining bots used any of the bulging gas chambers of their teammates to burn away the snow. In record speeds, the snow had melted away, leaving the ground soggy as steam filled the space. Kitsuen smirked, his eyes being adjusted to thick screens of vapor as he held his hands in a finger gun pose. Crouching low to the ground, he closed one eye as he attempted to get a lock on a target. Finally pinpointing one of the enemies that was making its way through the steadily dissipating steam, he pulled his thumb down to his index finger on both hands, causing two small, yet dense, bullets of snow to shoot from his finger tips. As they pierced the bot, Kitsuen's smile grew larger with the sound of it falling.
Literally jumping up, he began to make snow from the bottom of his feet. Running towards the sound of the enemy, he felt the snow slip underneath his feet, causing an effect similar to skating as he directed the snow to begin forming around the nearest bot. As he began to circle the robot, he started to spew thick snow around it. Smiling at what he was doing, Kitsuen picked up the speed at which he was circling the enemy, gradually burying his opponent.
Finally, in a showy fashion, he twirled upwards on a pillar of snow, his previously sky blue hair now becoming a pure white canvas against his light grey skin. Looking deeply at his target, he fired another dense snow bullet. But as Kitsuen began his descent, he was thrown off course as bullets broke through his snow path. Plummeting through the air, he formed a cocoon of thick snow that merely blanketed him as he landed, absorbing the impact of the fall. "What the heck was that for?!" Shaking like a wet dog, snow fell off of the boy's body as he walked away from his impact.
Given little time to react, a metallic hound was sicced on the boy from an unknown source. Attempting to shoot a bullet of snow again, Kitsuen was shocked as the hound merely ate the bullet as if it was nothing. If that wasn't enough, bullets rained from all around, each time coming from a different place. Performing a delicate dance between the bullets and avoiding the vicious jaws of the hound.
His smile dropped from his face as wispy black smoke began to flow from all over his body. Within seconds, the air was blanketed in thick smoke. The hound had seemed to lose visual tracking of Kitsuen, but he had not lost track of it. His eyes may have stung, but he was still used to seeing through the smoke. However, it was not enough to ward off the shooter. Hearing the sound of the gun firing again, Kitsuen instinctively formed a thick sheet of smoke around him. As he felt the bullet enter the sheet, he strained himself to begin the lock the bullet in a ball of smoke.
It was difficult, for sure. His smoke screen from earlier wasn't that strong, and this sheet wasn't either. Switching so quickly between snow and smoke was a bad idea to say the least, but it was a solution for dealing with the hound. Managing to contain the bullet, Kitsuen lost his chance to use the attack. Following the sound of a faint thwip, Kitsuen was greeted with a kick into his face as the attacker let out a sharp whistle. Almost instantaneously, the hound leapt through the smoke and latched its horrible jaws onto his right leg.
Coming back around, Kitsuen attempted to grab the swinging attacker as it attempted to hit him again. However, given his large attacks he had performed earlier, his body felt physically weak. Despite making contact and grabbing hold of the metallic ankle, the momentum of the swinging enemy twisted Kitsuen's arm as he was kicked into the ground by the other leg. Dragging him along the ground due to still holding onto the ankle, the hound pulled him in the opposite direction.
For a moment, a terrible pain shot through Kitsuen's body as he felt his right leg become dislocated from its socket. However, the adrenaline pumping through his body drowned out the pain. Emitting a large amount of smoke after letting go of his attacker, he mixed it into the smoke screen he had previously released. Having thoroughly mixed it together, he channeled it into a thick sphere between his hands. He wasn't able to gather all of the previous smokescreen, but he was able to gather a large nearby amount into a bowling ball sized orb of dense smoke. Holding it within his hands for a few more moments, he felt the smoke begin to accumulate heat. Deeming it ready, he released the orb on the hound that deepened the gashes on his right leg, which he had luckily lost all feeling in.
The orb not only knocked off the hound, but managed to break off a large amount of the protective plating on its face. Taking advantage of the moment, Kitsuen crawled to a nearby alley away from the hound. With there being less smoke, the hound would find him soon, so he would have to make the most of the situation. His fingers lightly fumbled into his pockets, grabbing a small snack bar that had been squished in the fighting. Shakily opening it, his thin lips seemed to quiver as he took a bite of the snack. It wasn't much, but it was something to give him a boost. In a blur, the boy devoured the treat as he looked to his dislocated leg, which had begun to ooze blood from his ankles.
Taking a deep breath, he placed a hand on either side of his leg as he began to grit his teeth. With a loud pop, his leg went back into its socket. However, even if it was back in its proper place, he was still only able to hop back to his feet, wobbling on his good leg as he lightly set his right foot down for only a few moments before bringing it back up.
Shivers began to crawl up Kitsuen's spine as the hound let out a horrible cry that resembled a distorted howl. Slowly, the smoke began to dissipate into the air to reveal a terrible sight. Multitudes of metallic hounds, all resembling each other.
Kitsuen Shigeyuki
Quirk:Smoke & Snow
Using his fat cells, Kitsuen is able to make smoke or snow from anywhere on his body, even being able to manipulate the velocity and mass of it.
Like the general of an army, Kitsuen's unknown attacker landed lightly on it's feet in front of the pack of hounds. A large sniper rifle was slung over its metallic frame, with a small pistol on its hip. It was far more lithe than the other robots he had seen, and far more coordinated as well. Taking a deep breath, Kitsuen crouched low to the ground as he prepared to attack. Almost as if it was responding, the sniper let out another whistle-like tune, prompting each hound's eyes to flash a crimson red as they turned to point towards the boy, their metallic teeth gleaming in the unfiltered light.
*clears throat* Fuck them kids.
In all seriousness, Uchu is real brutal on the children even before they are accepted. They are beaten down to nothing, and the best nothings of the bunch get picked for the school.
I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, and I will see you all at the next one. Please leave a review!
