I WILL NOT BRING ULTIMO INTO THIS CHAPTER!

'So it was my fault after all...' Kagome listened to Souta scream out her name from upstairs, knowing that Kotsu wouldn't let him follow her was a huge weight off her chest. She made her way to the front door and opened it, cautious of the woman who was aimlessly searching her out. "Mom?"

"K-Kagome...come here baby, I'm not going to hurt you..." she held her arms out for her daughter, her eyes were blackened, the normal chestnut brown hue was gone. "Come."

"..." Kagome moved forward, into her mothers arms, and allowed her purification energy to swallow her body. As her mother wrapped her arms around Kagome, her energy flowed soothingly along her mothers arms until she too was enveloped by the light pink glow of her healing powers. Her mothers hold on her tightened in a vice like hold, her body trembled in her mothers arms as she forced herself to focus on the miasma that she'd unknowingly made accessible to her mother. "Mama!"

"I won't let you go, Kagome. I'll never let you go again. You only get hurt, when you leave. You only come back scarred when you leave!"

"I….I won't leave...I won't, not anymore! Please! Let go!" It was becoming hard to concentrate on what she was doing, her body becoming angry over the bruises that her mother was leaving along her body.

"No! NO! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!"

Her source of air was becoming scarce and as she felt herself grow lightheaded, a hand reached in-between her and her mother, and pulled the two apart with relative ease. She kept on with her energy, purifying the source of her mothers insanity as quickly as possible. She watched carefully as Kotsu held her mother still, though she fought tooth and nail, trying her hardest to get out of his hold, to get her hands on Kagome again. He simply held her tightly in an arm lock so she couldn't get free. A sudden ear piercing scream filled the night air and echoed down the mostly abandoned street. Her mother's eyelids slowly drifted close over her eyes that had slowly, but surely, returned to their natural, warm, chestnut burn. As her body went limp in Kotsu's arms, he loosened his hold on her and finally, after deeming it safe, released her all-together.

"I'm sorry mama, it was my fault you became like that. I never realized that the miasma had gotten to you...I'm so sorry." Her own fatigue caught up to her, and she found herself falling with the grace of gravity, into the waiting arms of Kotsu, who carried her and her mother into the house before waiting for the police to show up. Not that he knew what the hell was going on, or what he should say when they got there, but he figured he'd wing it. The girl had...after all...glowed pink. So any explanation he received was bound to be abnormal.

"Souta, come down stairs."

"Is..." he ran downstairs and stopped, "is sis okay?"

"Yeah, she looks to be asleep."

"Mama?"

His question went unspoken, but Kotsu knew what he was asking. "I think she's okay too. Your sister was doing something to her when I pulled your mother off of her. Not that I could tell you what she was doing, but she was doing something."

"Would you say she was glowing?"

"I would, to myself, and not out-loud where anyone can hear me, but yes...I would."

Souta smiled, "she was healing Mama. I'm not entirely certain of how, but I think the poison in my sisters body a month ago, found refuge inside mom when sis started purifying it from her own body. It looked for another place of residence, basically."

"Well, I was holding her mother while she purified it, so how do I know I'm not going to try and kill off my family in a month too."

Souta frowned, "I'll have sis look over you when she wakes up."

Kotsu smirked, "she can look over me as much as she wants, in fact, I encourage it."

"Brother, please don't talk."

Kotsu chuckled, but went silent after a moment as he stared in fascination and wonderment at the girl lying out-cold on his bed. He truly, had never seen something so magical in all his life, then what he'd seen her doing outside mere moments ago. 'What a curious...girl...I think gramps would really like her.'

Me: Not long, but here is chapter three. In the next chapter, Ultimo will come in...or at least...the plot will start to introduce a character from Ultimo. Not necessarily him. Until next time!
