Christiana!" Rio called. "Let down your hair!"

Christiana grinned and put Wiz in his little nest away from Rio. "I'm coming Mother!"

She let her hair down and Rio climbed up.

Rio danced around the tower, running her hands over the artworks Christiana had made. "You are a true Hikari, gifted with the power."

"Mother, did you remember what tomorrow is?" Christiana said.

"Your birthday." Rio said. "You are coming of age, my little flower, coming into your true power."

"My true..." Christiana said. "Mother please don't make me do the ceremony today."

"It's alright my flower..." Rio said. "I brought a criminal this time."

She dropped an unconscious man at their feet.

"Now do it." Rio ordered.

Christiana begrudgingly wrapped her hair around the man, and placed it in her mother's hands.

"Flower gleam and glow, Let your power shine,

Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine.

Heal what has been hurt, Change the fate's design.

Save what has been lost, Bring back what once was mine."

Her hair glowed and brought back Rio's youth—at the cost of the man's life.

The man turned to ash and blew away. No matter how many times she saw it, Christiana hated that part.

"Mother...I've done what you asked." Christiana said. "Now I want you to do something for me. I want to go visit the floating lights in the sky tomorrow night."

"You want to leave this tower." Rio said. "To see some lights?"

"Mother...if you don't let me, I'll—"

"You'll what?" Rio said dangerously. "Christiana you can do nothing without me. You are a delicate little flower that will wither if I do not water and feed you and keep you in the light. You would do well to remember that beyond this tower, you would be called a murderer. They wouldn't understand your magic. You're a killer, Christiana. That is why you cannot leave. They will hunt you down and snuff you out."

Christiana was frozen in fear, eyes on the ashes of the man she had murdered.

Rio crept behind her and whispered.

"Best things remain as they are. Remember...Mother Knows Best."
