Caroline sat back and relaxed as the two guys filled up the petrol tank and bought a bunch of junk food for all of them from the cheap petrol station. Rebekah was relaxing with her, both of them taking a break from gossip. More focused on trying not to acknowledge the two guys who had been occupying the front seats, ignoring them flatly for the way they had both acted after Kol's call.

Flashback

Caroline sat still shell shocked, holding the phone she had been using, glancing at Rebekah with an expression of did that just happen. Whilst Klaus sat silent and clearly pissed at his brothers actions.

"Thank you Caroline" Rebekah smiled sincerely, grasping Caroline's arm in gratitude. Caroline smiled and returned the fond squeeze.

"You're welcome…also I'm sorry, because I think I just doomed any chance of peace or relaxation we might have had on this holiday". She apologised good humouredly, trying not to be annoyed by Klaus he's lack of response for her selfless action.

"In fact…" she smiled keying some numbers into her phone quickly, smiling mysteriously as the phone began ringing, enjoying the expressions of confusion and concern on the originals faces.

"Hey, it's Caroline." She smiled brightly down the phone. Happy that he had picked up.

"Miss Forbes, how can I help?" a polite voice greeted her.

"Me and your family are going on holiday, I was wondering if you would be interested in joining us?" she smiled nervously, always weary in regards to this particular brother, never quite able to anticipate his responses to things.

"Where and when are you and my family going?" he asked curiously sounding nonchalant. But Caroline smiled brighter, knowing she had him hook line and sinker.

"Beach town about six miles away from mystic falls, we are meeting at a hotel called The Glacier. Its normally pretty quiet so you won't need to worry about reserving rooms, it's guaranteed to have spare available. We're meeting at midnight. I understand you and Kol will be later since you left later. Message me when your there and I will come down and meet you" Caroline organised easily, thanking the heavens he hadn't interrupted like Kol had and had listened nice and quiet.

"Thank you Miss Forbes. I do very much appreciate it….and forgive my intrusion, but does your inclusion of the holiday mean my brother has finally succeeded in his attempts at wooing you?" Caroline hesitated only slightly, aware that the noise in the car had suddenly died down rapidly.

"You're welcome Elijah…and call me Caroline, no need to be so formal. Message me when you arrive." Then she clicked off. Aware that several pairs of eyes were suddenly focused on her, except matt, whose human hearing hadn't heard anything except her side of the conversation. Refusing to even consider meeting a very specific pair of them. Knowing he would ask why she hadn't answered, would undoubtedly use it to his advantage. Already confused about inviting him anyway, no way ready to have yet another serious deep soul talk about the nature of their relationship.

After a few minutes someone finally broke the silence. "Aren't you going to call Damon and everyone to let them know?" Rebekah asked curiously fiddling with her perfect designer nails.

"Yeah, I guess I better."

And it was after that call, all hell broke loose.
