Six stood out on the murky, dull, and eerily quiet battleground. In front of him were the elite Paladin cavalry, over 25 strong and waiting to strike, behind, about 50 strong. Using his visor he spotted to be what he assumed to be the head Paladin who had silver and bronze markings on his armor; the head paladin was making gestures with his hands while shouting commands to this subordinates, with a look that held nothing but arrogance and unbridled confidence.
To six, he was a target, simply an overly dressed target that would be his first kill. Taking his DMR out Six took aim at the Paladin captain, calculating his shot against the cocky commander.
"Wind interference: 0% distance, 1153ft. Aim from the third notch down. Wait for him to face you and…"
The Paladin turned to ready the charge…
"…Fire"
*KER-CHAK!*
In a flash as the bullet left the DMR he saw the head Paladins head fly back now sporting a new eyehole before slumping on his horse dead. The other members of the cavalry looked at the now dead captain and began to panic, some almost ready to leave the line, only to be stopped by another who rallied the men for the charge. Six simply lowered his rifle and switched to his assault rifle, cocking it and disengaging the safety.
'Your move, Dolhr', he thought, while waiting for the charge.
Then with a battle-cry the elite cavalry charged at Six, lances, swords, and axes drawn. Six got into a sprinting pose, ready for whatever they mustered up.
700ft…
'I was trained for this'
400ft…
'This is my purpose'
220ft…
'This is my life'
100ft…
'Now face the Wolf of Reach when he bears his fangs!'
With that he charged, closing the distance with the cavalry. He then jumped into the air; aiming his assault rifle down at the hapless "elites" who stared up at him in awe he unleashed a barrage of rounds on the soldiers. The 7.62mm rounds pierced through their armor and punctured their flesh with horrific results as 13 of the 25 Paladins either laid dead or dying on the battlefield surface. The remaining 12 looked at the carnage in fear and awe, as Six landed he watched as the 12 surrounded him in a circle formation. The Paladins circled him, hoping he would fall to the ground and surrender; as he watched as all of them continued to circle him he de-atomized his DMR for Emile's Shotgun and cocked the 8 gauge in the 12 round tube (A/N: as said last chapter this is my Halo weapon logic so don't complain and enjoy the carnage). One of the Paladins had enough waiting and charged.
Only to get a 8g to his right side
*BLAM-cha-chink*
The damage was horrific as the arm was torn from his body, the right side of the chest mangled, bleeding profusely as the Paladin fell to the ground writhing in pain for a short while before going silent. The other men saw this and stopped for a second as if contemplating whether to retreat or attack. Six simply stood there waiting for them to make a move. After about a minute he decided to give them some "advice" on what they should do.
"You can run, if you like. But I will just catch up and kill you all, so if I were you, just desert or get lost, elites", he taunted.
The elite cavalry members all scowled while giving a short but enraged growl at him and…
"CHARRRGEEE" the cry of one of the Paladins roared.
Six fired and cocked his shotgun at the other members before turning to another and doing the same thing. He then turned to his rear and fired three more rounds at the Paladins before putting his shotgun on his back with his AR and grabbed one of the lances from a charging Paladin, using the momentum to throw said holder off his mount. Using the lance he vaulted at the last member and kicked the man straight in the face, sending the man to the ground, Six's boots now crushing the Paladins skull with a sickening crunch and splat.
"I told you: run or fight you will die…"
He then looked up to see now the Halberdiers were charging at him with the intent to kill. Sighing he de-atomized both the shotgun and the AR for an energy sword and gravity hammer. With no words or cries he charged at the Halberdiers who now showed signs of stopping, obviously thinking that he was not as tired as they had originally thought.
'It's too late for that, you dug your grave, now lay in, dead or not, whole or in pieces', he thought with an eerie feeling of enjoyment.
He then proceeded to slice, bisect, halve (like going straight down the middle half or across the waist, let that sink in your imagination), and stab the Halberdiers who were either trying futilely trying to fight or run, or were screaming in absolute agony as he sliced them to ribbons. Out of the 50 that had charged him, only 8 remained alive if only for a few seconds.
"H-he's a monster-agggh!" one cried before being stabbed.
"W-we need back-up s-send the mages-" anther cried before the sword took his head from his shoulders.
"N-no p-please, don't!-" bisected down the middle.
The others either tried to run or surrender, but Six didn't care if they did either. To him they were all going to die regardless, for they had come to enslave these people, conquer them into submission. If they wanted to live they should have never come to fight him or threaten the people, now for them it was too late. After he finished his fight he put away his energy sword and looked down at the remains, a scowl underneath his helmet as he looked at the so called "elites".
"As I said before it doesn't matter if you surrender or not. I. Will. Kill. You. For you are my enemy, and as such, the only mercy you will receive is from your Gods…" he spoke with a hint of venom in his voice.
As he looked at the remaining soldiers, he saw there were over maybe 1000 or more regulars armed to the teeth but hesitant to charge, with a few Draco-Knights supporting them. Six simply looked at the charging forces when his RADAR picked up several allied signatures coming from behind him. As he looked behind, he saw the mercenaries with a the reinforcements coming out to help him. As he stood there waiting for them to catch up he saw that the force before him did not budge an inch. As soon as Ike and his mercenaries reached him with the reinforcements he spoke.
"Took you long enough…"
***Back at the village a few minutes after he killed the cavalry
"By the G-Goddess…it's like Ashnard's war angel itself" Makalov muttered out, clearly terrified.
"Holy crud! How the heck can he do all that and not be exhausted?!" Marcia exclaimed.
"By Ashuneras holy light I pray for the souls who have perished…" Rhys, who was now praying FOR the Empires troops who were slaughtered by Six.
"What is this man-no demon who stands before us!?" Geoffrey exclaimed, unnerved by the slaughter of the Dolhr elite cavalry.
All of the Coalition's forces stood at the top of the walls of the gate watching the slaughter that Six had just initiated on the first wave. Six's strange weapons ripped into the Paladins like they were nothing but cheap fabric, and Paladin armor was as strong as a Knights! Meany then saw that the Halberdiers were charging Six only to see his strange projectile weapons disappeared for a handle and a large purple-black hammer on his back. As the Halberdiers got close, he flicked the handle and a blue ethereal sword came out of it.
"Wha-, what is that, a sword…?" Lucia wondered intrigued, forgetting about the carnage from earlier.
"Whoa, it's almost like it's made out of Ice and Wind Magic! Cool, I want one!" Mia shouted with enthusiasm.
Ike however stayed silent. This was not something he or anyone was really used to; true many have called him a "One-man army" in a sense that he carried the weight of armies on his shoulders, while also being the one to lead the charge, but this…this man was nothing but a walking weapon! He had no emotions (or any that he could see with his own two eyes), moved like a demon of war, and had zero signs of fatigue or remorse for his actions.
'How…how can this man do such carnage with little to no effort? It's simply not possible, with any soldier or elite, remorse and fatigue is always felt during and after battle, yet he does all of it without breaking a sweat! How can he do all this destruction and death without feeling anything!?' Ike wondered to himself.
As he continued to wonder, he looked to his side and saw Mist clearly terrified by the destruction Six had caused. As he continued to look at the SPARTAN who clearly showed no signs of fatigue after his recent killing, a messenger came from behind and spoke to Queen Elincia.
"My Queen, the Whitewings and Lyndis Legion have arrived, they are waiting at the gate to assist in the battle", he spoke.
Elincia looked to Ike and saw him head down with Mist, Rhys, Titania, Boyd and his brothers, Mia, and Soren to meet their allies. As they reached the gates they saw Lady Lyndis standing with the Manni-Katti in hand, and Minerva who was on her wyvern with Hauteclere.
Lyndis was a slender and robust woman with light green hair and sea green eyes; she is known for her exceptional swordsmanship and the chosen wielder of the Manni-Katti. She carries a strong and independent personality on the battlefield, and a caring and gentle side off.
Originally hailing from the plains of Sacae as a member of the Lorca tribe, however they were all slaughtered by the Taliver Bandits. After a lone tactician from Ylisse collapses in her lands, she goes out with the young man to see the rest of the world, first arriving in the town of Bulgar, she is confronted by knights of Caelin Sain and Kent who (after a misunderstanding between Sain and herself) fight off bandits assigned to kill her. After learning of her heritage as heiress of Caelin, and how her Uncle Lundregen was responsible for the lands strife; together with the knights of Caelin she travelled to Caelin and stopped her uncle once and for all. Soon afterword she stayed with her grandfather Hausen to protect Caelin, the tactician returning to Ylisse for her own reasons. Only three months later, the New Dolhr Empire rose up threatening the lands, and she was summoned to the Grand Capital on the Alliance and joined immediately meeting her tactician friend in the process. Together with her legion reassembled she took to the battlefield once more, determined to defeat the threat to Caelin and the world. After hearing the need of reinforcements in the village of Hados she took her most trusted members Kent, Sain, Florina, and Wil who all wholeheartedly agreed to assist her along with a small platoon of Caelin Cavalry.
Minerva is a different woman compared to Lyn. Having short red hair and almost always in crimson battle armor she wields the family battle-axe Hauteclere in battle, and is a capable Wyvern-Lord, and the leader of her personal Pegasus Unit, the Whitewings. Even off the battlefield she is known for a fiery but calm individual who never slacks off during training. That is, unless it is her sister Maria, whom she loves and values more than her own life.
During the first war of the Shadow Dragon, Minerva was under the command of the original Medeus and their corrupt generals. Her reasons was her family, Maria had been used as a bargaining chip against her during the conflict. During her stay at the castle her sister was being held at, Prince Marth had gotten the message from Catria and raided the castle and rescued her sister, freeing her from her forced service, yet it still was not over. Now she had to deal wither her brother Michalis who had killed their father and sided with Medeus to solidify Macedon on the face of the new world. With a heavy heart she fought her brother in a battle to the death…with her as the victor; yet despite this loss, Minerva took the throne and allied with Altea. However the ashes of the fallen Dolhr Empire rose and with its new allies, began invading the lands. Gra was the first to fall for its betrayal, then her homeland, Macedon fell in the wake of Dolhrs marching army. Seeking refuge, she went to the Grand Capital and offered her remaining forces as back-up, in hopes of restoring her land. Hearing of Hados' plight she took off with her closest and finest friends Palla, Catria, and Est with a few remaing members of the Whitewings.
"Ike, it is good to see you again, I hope we have not arrived too late?" Lyn spoke, bowing slightly to the Vanguard.
"No, but I'm not sure if we're gonna need it, not saying any of you won't help, but…" Ike muttered out while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Sir Ike, as curious as I am about what you possibly mean, it would be more prudent to just tell us now than try to dodge the topic you have so "graciously" brought up", Minerva said bluntly.
Ike sighed and decided to tell them everything, "We have an ally out there, fighting the Dolhr main force all on his own but-"
He was cut off by Kent, "What? And you just let the man go there, on his own? With no support? Sir Ike, please forgive my impudence but why-"
"That's just it Sir Kent, the man out there now is Winning! We just bore witness to his power not moments ago", Oscar interrupted.
The Lyndis Legion and Whitewings stood shocked at the new information. Was this a joke, a ruse to get them prepared for battle? As Minerva and Lyn looked at the Mercenary they realized Ike was indeed NOT joking.
"C-c'mon Ike, you can't be serious?" Sain said trying to hold in his fear and wonder.
"No Sain, he is not, this mons-man is out there right now, killing any foolish member of the Empire that approaches him, and he is not even exhausted", Soren explained with his Rexcalibur tome out.
"But…that would imply this man is not human, are you sure you can trust him?" Palla asked.
"Well…no, but he saved me, and my men so that means something, right?" Ike responded.
Before they could continue the conversation, the gate began to open and the group headed outside…
…and instantly felt sick.
"By the gods how…?" Lyn
"…!" Minerva
"H-how in all the lords…?"
"G-gonna be sick"
"L-Lyn, I'm s-scared"
Strewn about the battlefield were bodies of Dolhr elite cavalry, mangled and butchered with horrendous wounds that looked to be caused by fire and earth itself, their armor mangled, crushed, the bodies near unrecognizable, one of them had his head crushed as well, adding to the sick feeling of most of the reinforcements and the mercenaries themselves. As they continued to Six's position thye came across the bodies of the Halberdiers, and felt even more dread; while the bodies were not completely bloody and mangled like the cavalry, they were slice and stabbed in ways that made their stomachs turn. Bisected and stabbed corpses were all over the ground, and most of them had looks of dread and fear plastered on their face before death.
"L-lady Lyn, look!" Kent exclaimed
"Wh-what is that…a golem?" Catria qyestioned looking in the direction Kent pointed to.
"S-sister, I think it knows we're here", Est said getting her lance up albeit shakily.
Ike looked and saw in the center of all of it was Six, his strange sword in hand, a large hammer on his back, not even bothering to look back the behemoth of a man spoke.
"Took you long enough…"
Six turned around and looked at his new allies and saw there was a good amount of diversity in the unit; swordsman and mages for Ike, with a few healers to assist. The green haired lady had cavaliers and an archer and Pegasus Knight to assist, and the woman in red had three Pegasus Knights beside her, with several more in tow, but judging by the ones who were flanking her they were either close associates, elites, or both. Deactivating his Energy Sword he began to walk over with the youngest Pegasus elite (Est) pointed her lance at him.
"H-halt, d-don't you dare-"
"Did Ike not tell you who I am? If not than I thought it would be obvious that I'm not an enemy by all the forces I cleared out here", Six spoke with little to no emotion in his voice.
That caught the reinforcements (aside from Ike and his men) of guard; each member looked at each other and whisper fearing he would kill them too if they had even questioned him outright. Lyn and her unit were already looking cautious and the archer looked ready to fire his arrow at Six, who simply ignored him unless he fired it.
However, Minerva simply stared at Six and said nothing. It was not that she wasn't afraid of him, no she was scared of this behemoth of a man, but her pride refused any weakness she might have shown to this…man.
Six saw how she was staring at him and said nothing as he began to walk forward towards Ike.
Sadly the young archer lost his nerve and was about to shoot when…
"Don't even try it kid" Six said to Wil without even looking at him.
Wil stood there shocked and relaxed his bow, obviously feeling faint.
"Ike, are these them?" he spoke.
Ike snapped out of his stupor and looked at Six before speaking again, "Ah, yes, the one in the tribal gown is Lyndis, heiress to Caelin, an allied continent, and the one in crimson armor is Minerva, Queen of Macedon, and leader of the elite Pegasus and Dracoknight unit the Whitewings", he spoke gesturing to the women beside him.
Six simply stood there and looked at Minerva and Lyndis, the latter flinching at his gaze.
"With all due respect Ike, are you sure it is safe for royalty, no less a queen to be on the battlefield?" Six questioned
Before Ike could answer the question, Minerva walked up to him and gave him a glare that said "I'll fucking end you".
"Are you saying that women cannot hold their own Sir…Six right? Well, just because I'm the queen, does not mean I am weak, so-"
Six cut her off, "I never said anything like that, but I am simply concerned what would happen if you died out on the battle field today, would your kingdom be able to hold its own without a leader?" he questioned while continuing to look at Ike.
Minerva would've retorted if Lyn had not beat her to the punch by stopping her with her hand held out.
"While we appreciate the concern Sir Six we are not some damsels in distress that need recuing, I was trained by my tribe to wield a sword, and Minerva here never stops trying to grow stronger and more prowess with Hauteclere. So mind you, I believe-no, know we can fight. Maybe not on your level, but well enough to be the leaders of our own units", she explained with a determined look on her face.
Six said nothing and looked at them all, replacing the fear of the men and women behind them were now looks of determination and a readiness to die for their respective lords. Six had to admit he was impressed with their vigor, and only from a simple speech. However they were all interrupted by a booming horn from the enemy lines that gave way to a very, very arrogant speech.
"Soldiers of the New Dolhr Empire, do you not see this man is simply that a man? He is nothing compared to the might of our absolute leader Medeus, nothing but a man in armor, a man who will be powerless against our might! Now I order you for the New World Order of Medeus charge…charge and claim this man's head in the name of our lord!" proclaimed the General in the back lines.
The enemy force gave a roar of confidence and soon began to charge at Six once more. The reinforcements were going to charge until Six put his arm up to stop them.
"No, don't worry about these grunts, I'll clear a path and you go handle the commander in the rear. Just follow behind me, but not too close", he spoke readying himself for battle.
Six then took the large hammer from his back and charged at the forces, however instead of just smashing them with the hammer, he leapt up into the air, the Gravity Hammer raised above his head and…
BA-BOOOOOOM!
…Smashed the hammer into the center of the charging force. Bodies of soldiers, fragments of earth and gravel flew from the ground as he immediately then turned towards the army that now surrounded him, with a snap he turned himself towards the offenders with a scowl under his helmet.
Soldiers began rushing him from left to right, only to be met with a painful end from the Gravity Hammer. Six continued to slam, smash, crush, and clobber any and all Dolhrian soldiers who thought they could either get away or hope to kill him with their measly weapons.
On the other side of the carnage, back with Ike and his allies, all of them were staring at the carnage with renewed fear and awe as what they just witnessed, was to them a war god delivering divine punishment to all who challenged his authority.
"G-gods, h-how did he…" Catria muttered out.
"Madness…pure and utter madness…" Kent.
"How…how is this…this…thing, capable of such destruction!?" Sain.
Minerva simply stood there in awe as the metal golem-like man continued his rampage on the Dolhrian army. However she soon snapped out of her stupor and took Hauteclere from her back and got on her wyvern.
"Milady, what-" Palla gasped out.
"You heard him, follow behind him but not too close, so let's go and help, we don't want him to do all of this just for nothing do you?" Minerva said grabbing the reins of her mount flying off.
The other Whitewings stood there stupefied but soon followed their fearless queen as she flew off towards the enemy slaughter.
Ike took out Ragnell and looked to the mercenaries who accompanied him, "She's right, Sir Six is clearing us a path so we can kill their general and protect Hados, so let us do just that men and women of the Greil Mercenaries…CHARGE!" he shouted as he ran towards the battlefield, his comrades following behind him.
Lyndis said nothing, instead she simply took the Manni-Katti from its sheath and signaled her men and women forward.
Back with Six, he had just slain a majority of their forces alone. The main army now rapidly losing morale after only a few minutes after the onslaught; he then looked at his RADAR and saw several yellow dots approaching from behind and saw Minerva, the Whitewings, Ike and his mercenaries, and Lyndis' unit charging into the fray along with him. Switching to his sword (the Gravity Hammer would likely destroy both his enemies AND allies), he charged forward once more and began to slice and dice his way through the enemy force with ease. As he was killing soldiers left and right, he failed to notice a mage with a Bolganone tome aiming right at him; however said mage soon found himself without a head when Minerva sliced him at his neck. Six turned to the crimson clad princess and stared at her.
"Guess you owe me one, eh War-God?" she smirked.
Six said nothing and drew his M6G and fired at her.
"Queen Minerva!"
The bullet passed her head and struck an enemy Soldier behind her.
"Now we're even", he said again before returning to the battle.
Minerva said nothing, simply shocked at this man's audacity; true he saved her life but still…
She shook her head, now was not the time for idle thoughts, now was the time for battle. Charging once more she hefted Hauteclere and assisted with clearing a path alongside her comrades.
With the Dolhr commander, everything was falling apart around him.
His main force was being slaughtered by one man and a few measly reinforcements from the Alliance, however that was not the worst part, the reinforcements he was promised were now heading back to the empire, unwilling to die for a lost cause. Worse still was that he had heard the army in front of him was retreating as well, the Sentinels sent to protect him now in full panic.
"How, how can one man and a few mere ants defeat our elite army!? This…this is simply not possible!"
The general then took his lance from his side and rose in his heavy armor, and exited his tent…
Only to see the 20 Sentinels were now dead. And that he was surrounded by Ike, Lyn, and Minerva's forces
All 20 Sentinels laid on the ground, gashes from Ragnell, Manni-Katti, and Hauteclere all evident. The General began to panic as he saw the three leaders pointing their weapons at him.
"You've lost, surrender and you will be treated humanely as possible", Ike spoke, Ragnell still pointed at him.
The general panicked but said nothing, instead donning his helmet and then laughed trying to mask his fear.
"F-fools, I am a general of the Dolhr Elite regiment, I will not surrender so easily! And in this armor I am nigh invincible, you cannot hope to-*STK*"
He was cut off as a blue glowing orb landed on the left side of his helmet and-
*WHIR-BOOOM*
Exploded, blowing up the general's head, left arm and some of his upper torso. The group looked shocked until they looked behind them to see Six had a blue ball in his other hand, the other being shaken as if he'd thrown something.
"I hate pretentious cowards…" he muttered.
The others said nothing and simply looked at him as he walked away.
"We're finished here, the commander is dead, so let's get back and report our status to the Queen"
With that he continued to walk away, leaving a shocked but still moving allied force following him back.
My hands hurt, but I finished, sorry for the delay, but as said, distractions, distractions, distractions.
Anyway, I'll try to get out Ch. 4 but it will take me a while, hope you enjoyed the carnage. EK94
