Hello, you might have noticed and you might have not either way I have changed the summary though the theme of the story stays the same and the old summary is posted in chapter one just in case anyone wants to read it still. Chapter five in this story is when the assignment will be introduced forcing Hermione to work with three Slytherins.

Arguments with Moody

"So Draco, what is this I have been hearing about you wanting to enter the Triwizard Tournament?"

Blaise sat down beside me and across from Draco, placing his elbow on the table with his chin resting on his hand.

"Well if you must know my father thinks it would be good to spread around the word," Draco answered quietly.

"That's hardly going to help anyone," I mumble as I set my fork down on the table.

"Tell that to a man who exclusively believes in the power of having a strong image."

"Well, then again what Slytherin doesn't," Blaise asked raising an eyebrow quizzically at Draco.

Theo plopped down in the spot available next to Draco. He brought a book to the table and refused to pause in his reading, while somehow placing his breakfast on his plate.

"It's just so stupid to put yourself in a position of danger if you can avoid it. Now that bloody Harry Potter is a Gryffindor everyone thinks that throwing yourself straight into danger when there are alternative methods is admirable," I said picking up my fork again and taking my last bite of fruit.

"Gryffindor's with their bloody disrespect for strategies," Draco nodded with frustration.

Daphne and Delinda finally stormed up to the table, Daphne looking livid and Delinda looking tired.

"What took you ladies so long breakfast only has fifteen more minutes left," Blaise asked sounding sincere.

"A horrifyingly stupid second year Slytherin dropped an improperly made potion in the shower room and it caused an explosion," Daphne growled.

"You're so lucky you missed it Jeanette," Delinda frowns dissatisfied that she didn't manage to avoid it herself.

Truthfully I wouldn't call it luck. I shower early so no one knows just how much work I put into looking attractive (honestly I could care less about it, but I can't afford my own opinion), plus I had a vision that it would happen as soon as I woke up this morning.

"I always rise up early to shower," I answer curtly and take another bite of my breakfast.

"True we never run into you until breakfast. By the time we are getting ready you're already in the Great Hall," Daphne conceded.

Draco looks distractedly at his pumpkin juice, a strange reaction that I only seem to be noticing. I wonder what's got him so worried, but I don't ask.

"Tomorrow's Friday, so are you going to give us any tips for your class," Blaise asked as he looked at Theo's book noticing that it was the one I assigned for class.

Theo finally looks up at this seemingly interested in any advice I might be willing to give.

"Hmm advice…all I can say is practice with desperation and you might manage to get an Acceptable. It's partially gift and mainly desperate practicing," I smile widely at the others purposefully sending the message that I meant business.

"Ah jeeze why can't you make the class easier," Blaise groaned in pain.

"I don't because I care about everyone's safety," I state, "I'm done with breakfast. See you guys in History of Magic."

As I walk out of the Great Hall I pass by Harry and Ron who only seem to be making their way to breakfast.

"You two would do well to actually take your studies seriously this year, especially you Harry," I advise in a sing-song voice.

"Are you threatening us? Already not going to grade us fairly in your class huh," Ron glares at me.

Harry looks uneasy and guarded. I can see anger rising to the surface of his eyes.

"No, I'm telling you this because danger always finds you and your little trio. If you die many other's will die and some might as well be dead that would sure be easier than living. Arm yourself with knowledge and you'd be surprised at how much you can accomplish."

I shrug my shoulders at their lack of response and turn to walk away.

"I don't believe that your concern is real," Harry finally replies taking a step toward me.

"Good, then there might be some hope for you yet," I turn around and smile, "Seriously spend some time in the library you two. You'll regret it if you don't."

I walk away, but before I am out of complete earshot I hear Ron mumble "bloody Slytherins."

XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

I waved my arm impatiently in the air it had been up for fifteen minutes so far. The student's that were awake stared at me strangely questioning why I would be interested enough in the class to participate in it. I can no longer hold my hand up.

"Professor Binns! I have to ask you what was the spell you used to defeat the cursed mountain that killed those who tried to cross it? Also what spell did you use to save your injured friend Donny in the Britain—Russia Wizarding War?"

Surprisingly, and to the shock of the entire class Binns turned around and smiled at me.

"Back then the only spell that could do any damage wasn't really strong enough to defeat it. The spell I used to save my friend Donny was from ancient magic passed down from Goblin to Goblin. I encountered them often enough to have obtained the knowledge…" Binns answers yet avoids giving a conclusive answer.

"What! Binns actually did something adventurous like that," Daphne exclaims. The Ravenclaws and the Slytherins all began to chatter in excitement waking up the students who had fallen asleep.

Binns turned to look at me, "How did you know about my participation in the war? I have not written on it."

The ghost finally seemed to be living in this moment, brought out from the past.

"You may have not written on it, but someone else did. It's not hard to miss it. There were only three lines written on it in a twelve thousand paged book. I luckily did not miss it," I smile kindly.

"You read the entirety of that book," Professor Binns looks stunned and as if he doesn't fully believe me.

"Yes."

Delinda who was sitting beside me looked at me with shock and amazement.

"Truthfully I've probably read all of the additions new and old for this class and all of my other classes. I've always had a very busy life, but all of my free time was dedicated to books. I hope I didn't upset you by bringing up a part of your difficult past, if so please do except my apology."

"No, it's just it's been a really long time since I've met a student that dedicated to history," Binns slowly smiles.

I smile broadly back at the professor.

"Okay class let's get back on track—" Professor Binns starts to bring the class back to his usual monotone drawl of history. I lose interest in class once again as I have already read up on the topic, probably all the topics possible for history.

I've been searching for as long as I was brought into this war for a way out, for a happy ending, I just haven't found one yet.

Instead of taking notes I plan on how to demonstrate my classes tomorrow. I've already worked out nearly everything before even arriving, but still want to make sure I teach the classes a little differently based on the year the student resides in on their education.

I also have to make sure I keep to following the school regulations. Different teachers are going to be watching over the classroom since technically I'm still a student and they want to make sure I won't let things get out of hand.

Class ends and all of the students from Ravenclaw except for three girls who look shy rush over to me.

"How did you manage to even find a book like that?"

"Nobody has ever been able to find anything interesting about Binns past."

Before anyone else can shout out questions at me Delinda pulls me back behind her.

"How much are you going to pay her for that kind of information," Delinda smiles sweetly.

This scares most of the Ravenclaws quite.

"Don't get too friendly," Blaise grins.

"It's no big matter. I just read anything I could find hear or looked up on that dealt with history. I wasn't even exactly looking for Professor Binns, I just ran into it and didn't forget it," I answer.

We exit the classroom and head off to Magical Creatures class that we share with the Gryffindor's.

Daphne sighs and looks at me, "You're really too kind Jeanette."

"Nope, I lied," I smile and stick out my tongue at her, "I really did search for information on him."

"So what you lied? You are still making us look like decent people. Our parents will be mad if the whole school starts treating us differently," Draco growls looking at me with anger.

A ripple starts to quickly escalate into a wave. Feelings I had thought I had erased in the past come bursting forth without time for me to analyze or hold them back. An image of a heart shaped trinket clanking to the ground shatters the lid on my emotions.

"So what," I asked in a deadly monotone.

"Easy there," Blaise carefully tries to calm the situation.

"All of our parents' will kill us Jeanette, you have to understand wanting your parent's love and never really getting it," Draco whispers his face scrunched up in pain.

"Yes," I answer quietly looking straight into his eyes, "but I know they won't ever love me so I refuse to let myself feel sad. You see my parents' hate me from the bottom of their hearts."

I close my eyes and try to release the anger, the pain, and the never ending loneliness. Once I open them the pain in my eyes is gone and my body is relaxed.

"Let's go or we won't be able to beat down the Gryffindor student's egos," I smile, "I for one, am not planning on missing that."

"Oh yes, time to go annoy some Gryffindorks," Blaise cheers.

"It is the only fun part about taking this class," Daphne adds flipping her brown hair over her shoulder.

"As if any of it can be fun when Granger goes and answers most of the questions by herself. A class with her is never any fun," Pansy sighs.

"Well, Theo could answer the questions as well, but honestly why try when Granger wants it so badly. I know I'm not going to make myself look especially needy," Draco joins in.

"Oh good because you already are especially needy, no need to work harder at it," Ginny said as she passed by.

"You—" Draco starts (with no doubt a horrible comeback) to say, but I cut him off.

"Hey, Ginevra, I don't think you could handle living any of our lives. You see being rich is a hard life, much harder than the one you're living right now, I can tell you that," I smile not even a fraction of anger or annoyance in my voice.

There is no opening for her to try and retaliate. I have warned her politely to mind her own business. She turns and glares at me, however, the fire quickly quenches when she reads that I am not aiming to destroy.

What she finds is that my words are the truth that is if she has any mind of her own. Ginny frowns at me not knowing what to think of me, a stranger to her compared to the others she has had three years of schooling with.

"Watch it Ellevan, keep on insulting my family and I'll have to bat bogey hex you," Ginny remarked snidely.

"It's always a bad idea to attack a teacher," I advise tauntingly before she walked away.

"Why did you interrupt me," Draco scowled at me.

"You were going to make a stupid comeback," I answer simply.

"Alright you two stop arguing," Pansy whines, "its super annoying."

"You're right Draco, I was out of place. I'm sorry."

Draco looked shock, but mumbled hesitantly, "It's alright."

This time it was Daphne who brought back our regular atmosphere by tripping Harry Potter who bumped into Ron who tumbled into the rest of the Gryffindors knocking them all down the stairs effectively with one trip.

Hermione and Neville got the worst of it as Ron's elbow met with Hermione's jaw and then Neville's gut. The Slytherin's—excluding me—laugh as we walk past them.

"You might want to go to the hospital wing," I advised Hermione and Neville.

Surprisingly, Hermione doesn't get angry at me and takes the hand I offered to help her up. I extend that same hand to Neville who also surprisingly takes it as well.

"Thanks, although I'm sure one of you Slytherins knocked us down I'll forgive and forget. I hope you remember this extended kindness towards you. I honestly don't want to be on any teacher's bad side," Hermine firmly informs.

"How forward of you, but I'll have to admit I like this side of you better than the one who can't quite fully recognize her own value. You do know that without you your friends probably wouldn't have passed their classes to make it into their fourth year of schooling," I reply causally.

I turn to look at Neville who was now looking quite stunned at my words.

"Oh yes, before I go I must say that the moment you have faith in yourself will be the moment you succeed in a lot of the things you struggle with Neville. Stupid Gryffindors," I tut loudly sending them a glare.

Blaise smirked, Theo quirked an eyebrow in interest, Draco mimed Harry tripping, Pansy giggled loudly, Delinda looked down on the Gryffindor's sourly, Crab and Goyle made sure to look threatening, and Daphne looked at them haughtily at the sound of my stupid but effective declaration.

Before the Gryffindor's could retaliate or throw in any words we walked arrogantly away from them and to class.

Now that Hermione wasn't in class due to her unfortunate stair tumbling housemates the class was slightly more enjoyable, although I kept myself a good distance away from the creatures even when Hagrid tried to get me near one.

Harry got pissed at Draco's constant bullying and Ron looked ready to kill him. Pansy didn't have to worry about her usual victim Hermione today so she joined in with Draco's bullying.

"Why won't you get near any of the creatures," Theo asked surprising me as I was busy watching everyone.

"Well I don't want to get dirty and I've never really interacted with any before," I smoothly lie, "I mean just look at the face Draco is making at the pixies."

Theo looks over at Draco's scrunched up face next to a nervous Blaise who looked as if he wanted to toss the pixie as far away from himself as possible.

"How are you going to pass this class if you won't get near any of the creatures? I mean you are only taking this class to keep up your reputation if my guess is right."

"I'll be ready next time," I answer simply. An idea had formed in my head. If I used things they dislike the creatures won't be too obedient with fear.

"Well if you need any help just let me know. I'm good at keeping secrets," Theo gave a quick smile then went back to analyzing the different magical creatures.

As we were walking back to the castle Blaise pulls me aside creating a large gap between the others and us.

"So Jeanette I need a favor," Blaise smiles.

I narrow my eyes in suspicion, "What is it?"

"Can you please help me with my History of Magic homework? I really need to get better than an Acceptable this year."

I sigh, "You do know that I'm busy as a student and a teacher right? I won't have any free time at all and out of all the students that can help you, you pick me."

"Well, all those other students don't have a passion for history like you do except for maybe Hermione. You know as well as I do that asking her would be like committing social suicide for any Slytherin."

"Why not study with Draco and Theo? They both do pretty well in the class although they both don't pay attention in the classroom they do study outside of it."

Theo is always reading some book that doesn't have to do with the school's curriculum in that particular class and Draco is busy trying to come up with better comebacks.

"I've tried they easily get fed up with me and besides, I don't have blackmail on them that I'm willing to use," Blaise grins in triumph.

"What kind of blackmail do you have on me anyway? That I wear a ton of makeup? That my class is going to be very difficult? That I snore in my sleep? I don't care if you spread stupid rumors," I frown at him.

"You're a model aren't you," Blaise says blatantly.

"What makes you think that? I think I'm lacking some qualities," I ask in surprise.

"You only eat healthy meals and avoid anything greasy or high in calories, but always look longingly at the things you refuse to put on your plate. You are up early every morning and are ready before any of the other girls are awake. You probably spend a lot of time fixing your hair and makeup, but try to make it look simple. The way you hold yourself, with constant good posture and straight back makes me think you are a model. You have good fashion sense just by judging from the entrance ceremony, and although it is not a requirement it means you are aware of what is trending. I looked around, but couldn't find anything at first. It was when I asked my mom that I found out you are a new model about to make your debut. My mom just so happens to be the director of the most popular wizarding magazine for witch fashion."

"I finally understand how you made Slytherin," I sigh, "well other than the cocky attitude that is."

"I kept my cards well hidden for this moment, so are you going to help me or do I need to spread the rumor and ruin your career before it even completely starts," Blaise grins down at me.

"Fine, I'll help you with History of Magic just don't tell anyone. I would like to live a normal life just a little bit longer," I hiss.

"Deal!"

"Hey you two hurry up! We have some Hufflepuffs we need to insult before this day is over," Pansy shouts.

"We better get going," Blaise says turning serious.

"Yeah," I agree.

We picked on some Hufflepuffs and then went our separate ways to study or find others to bully. I ended up helping Blaise find interesting ways to retain history facts in his head.

In potions Professor Snape got so angry at Neville and Seamus who together managed to explode the potion after only putting one ingredient in the caldron that all of us were forced to quit making the potion for today's lesson. He then made us work on a seventh year potion for increasing focus and intelligence.

I purposely did a few minor things wrong, but my potion still turned out pretty good, just not as good as Granger's or Draco's. Hermione's wasn't exactly perfect, but it was pretty close. I could see Draco's irritated face that he had come in second place.

When Snape looked at Hermione's potion he didn't compliment her, but picked on her small mistakes.

"Well, I guess the potion is brewed well enough you ought to go and give a cup to Neville and Seamus," Snape smirked.

"What, but it still needs improvements," Hermione turned pale.

"Don't worry I know the side effects they'll be fine," Snape sneers.

"Oi, If Hermione is afraid to do it I will," Draco laughs.

"Well then Draco it seems you will be doing it."

"No, wait professor I will do it," Hermione answers.

Clearly wanting the boys to get the better of the two potions brewed.

Turns out the effects Snape was talking about were extremely itchy skin and snot continuously flowing out of their noses. Neville and Seamus were given a potion made by Snape to rid them of the itchy skin and running nose only at the end of class.

My next class was my elective, Runes. I know runes especially well, but it wouldn't hurt to take a class to brush up on the basics. The same students in Arithmancy take this class so whether it is good fortune or bad all of us will probably get to know each other.

"You're really good at Runes," Draco noted as he looked over my precise decisions that had only taken me three seconds to arrange.

"Hmm, yeah well they are really useful," I mumble still focused on finishing the task and making several new arrangements.

"Of course they are I wouldn't be taking this class if they weren't," he informed.

I glance over at Draco who was much like the rest of the class still trying to figure out how to arrange the first problem.

"Draco this rune goes next to the first one not the last one," I say snatching the rune and fixing the order for him.

I look over at Theo who seems to have gotten the hang of it after witnessing my help towards Draco.

I was first to finish the task and handed the results to the professor, which frustrated Hermione to no end. I could see the jealousy in her eyes, but knew it came from her fear.

Hermione finished ten minutes after me and just behind her were Theo and Draco.

The last class of today was DADA with the Gryffindors and Professor Moody. He used the three unforgivable curses in class and I went pale, I'm not exactly afraid of the magic just rather afraid of using the magic. Hermione cried in class and Neville looked so small and hurt that I was ready to Avada Kadevra the teacher myself.

Too bad I couldn't. Too bad I didn't.

As class was over the entire room emptied out quickly and before I could join them the Professor's rough hand was clasped around my wrist.

"Jeanette just a quick word," he says gruffly.

Once the classroom is empty he turns to me and whispers into my ear, "The Dark Lord wants to see progress now. Have you collected any key information? If you don't show any results by the end of this week he'll torture you, you know."

"So does that mean I'm to report to you," I ask angrily whispering, "You do know you're only convenient useless trash to him right?"

"I'll kill you! You're just the Dark Lords bitch for now, but he won't need you forever," Barty Crouch snapped.

"You call me a bitch, yet you seem so jealous of this bitch," I sneer.

"Wait bring Neville back I need to speak to him," Barty Crouch says before I could leave, "And I'd never be jealous of a ticking time bomb."

"Shut up."

I walk down the flight of stairs and find Neville with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Just great I'll have to interact with them again.

"Hey Neville Mad Eye Moody wants to see you. Head back to the class," I say before passing them up and leaving them behind to head to the Slytherin Common room.

As I enter the common room after giving the password I am bombarded by a very annoying Blaise.

"Hey Jeanette, do you want to help me out with all my homework?"

"No thanks Blaise, I'm good. Our deal was only for History of Magic," I answer.

"Oh well I guess I'll go and bug Theo then," Blaise smirks and heads out of the Common room.

I quickly head into my room and am glad to see that none of the other girls are here. I wrap the curtains around my bed shut and use a spell to keep them that way. My mask drops. I can be my emotionless self again.

How nice it is to not feel. Keeping up this act is tiring and difficult to keep up. How am I going to get any information by Saturday? Spying on Harry wouldn't even be helpful since he only knows interesting secrets after bad things have already happened. Nothing bad has happened yet.

Guess that means I'll have to spy on the staff and Dumbledore.

Yes, now how does one go about spying on that man?

Anmiganus?

Definitely not, a horse cannot be quite or hide effectively in the castle. Besides what if I mess up? The results would be terrible and I struggle greatly with Transfigurations.

I could steal Harry's invisibility cloak, but Dumbledore definitely has the elder's wand so it wouldn't help at all. It's a really good thing that Voldemort doesn't really know about Dumbledore having the wand. I'm not going to tell him about it either.

Oh well I got to focus on teaching tomorrow. I'll think of something after I'm done teaching. I pull out my bag and start to work on the homework I wasn't able to finish during break.

I spend most of my time concentrating on what errors to make on my homework. I can't seem too ignorant as I am going to be teaching a class, but I can't reveal just how knowledgeable I really am. Tired of caring and having emotions I toss everything to the side of my bed.

Sleep comes eventually.

Guess I should point out an interesting question to think about since it does hint at something: Why is Jeanette so sure that if she tried to be an anmiganus that she would be a horse?

I'm interested in what you the readers think of what magical taboos would be, please let me know your thoughts on this as I think it would be interesting to see what comes up.

Thanks for reading this chapter; I hope you continue to enjoy this story.
