More to the Geass Part 3
I finally had gotten to Uncle Lelouch's grave and stared at the entrance of it. Jonathin and C2 were right behind me watching me look at the massive grave. I didn't know what to expect from all of the things I have heard and learned about him. If only I could ask my uncle directly as to why everyone who knew him acts as though they hate him and many other questions. Still staring at his huge above ground grave I started putting my long black hair into a bun.
"Your curls are going to be ruined when we go back to your party if you put them in a bun like that Lady Euphemia." C2 said. I didn't respond to her and just finished putting my hair into a messy bun. When I finished I took out Uncle's journal and stared at the cover. I thought about how long I have been obsessing about who my uncle was and why people were acting the way that they did whenever he was brought up. I thought about how I never even bothered to ask who my father was since he never was around when I was a small child and not to mention that Mother never spoke of him. How I never let feelings of love surface to the outside because I wanted to stay focused on finding out who my uncle was. I looked back at my uncle's grave.
"Euphie, I mean, Lady Euphemia are you alright?" Jonathin asked breaking the silence. I laughed a little to myself at the fact that he corrected himself.
"Clearly Suzaku's ediquette classes rubbed off on you, huh?" I asked jokingly.
"Lady Euphemia?" Jonathin asked.
"Uncle Lelouch, this is your journal here. All my questions about you can be answered if I just open it and read it. But I made a promise to Mother, your little sister Nunally, not to read it. She is queen now you know. I'm sure you are very proud. If you are so kind and helped so much I wonder why it is that most people try to peg you the bad man and insane villain. Everyone says I have your wits and brains Uncle Lelouch. That's where my borderline obsession of you began. It grew worse when no one would tell me anything about you. You realize that my obsession to know the truth about you has caused me to be blinded of things like finding out who my father is, finding out about why Japan hasn't been fully set free yet many years later, why Mother is keeping her promise to you about never letting me know about you, and so many other important things. That ends here, I'm putting the notebook here at your grave. I won't ask questions about you anymore." I placed the notebook at the entrance of his grave and walked back to Jonathin and C2.
"Jonathin, as her knight guard over there to make sure no one comes here. Lady Euphemia, let's get out of those shorts and tank and put your dress back on." C2 said with a smile. I did as I was told and even pulled out black high heels and put them on instead of socks and tennis shoes. We went back to the party where I visited with Aunt Corniellia and many other guests. I danced with a few possible husbands but liked none of them. We had cake, we ate wonderful food, we laughed, and over all I ended up having a good time. I could feel Jonathin watching every move I made, even when I was dancing with possible husbands. Something was clearly bothering him because every now and then he would be holding his head like it was in immense pain but would look up at me and smile everytime I looked right at him. Finally, I walked over to him and just as I was about to speak to him a blonde haired man with a cape as red as blood took the center part of the dance floor and started to give a speech.
"Everyone on this gracious evening has come to celebrate one thing and one thing only, Princess Euphemia's 17th birthday. But I find it interesting that most of the people here are not very close with her." That's when I turned around and the man made eye contact with me and made a devilish grin. "I garuntee that most of you only came to suck up to Queen Nunally." A negative atmosphere begins to form in the room and not only is it overwhelming but I noticed that now the man is staring at Jonathin and directing the speech towards him and as this is happening it's like some force was pushing him down and it seemed like the immense pain believed to be in his head was growing worse with each word the stranger spoke.
"Euphemia, don't be afraid!" Jonathin managed to gasp out, "That man isn't a enemy." It took whatever strength he had to get those words out and at this time C2 stood in front of both me and Jonathin, looking completely unaffected by what was affecting my knight. C2 looked at me basically telling me that it was my decision on what to do here. The blonde man chuckled and began taking off his mask and once the mask hit the floor the crowd looked shocked and awe struck. The man was Gino Weinberg. Suzaku, Nunally, Kallen, Jeremiah, and Anya all came into my view and I walked past C2 and up to Gino Weinberg and looked up making eye contact with him.
"I am sure there are some here that despise my very existence but that does not change the fact that you have caused the atmosphere to turn sour. Not only that you keep on smiling and acting so cheery when the people who knew you are acting so surprised to see that you are here. You did go off the grid Gino and that is not acceptable to those who care for you. Thank you for looking out for me but I can handle this party myself." I turn my back to him as everyone surrounding the two of us awaited for what I was going to do next. "The night is still young and I want all of the guests here tonight to have a wonderful time. Lets get the music playing once more and head back to the fun part of this night." Everyone around me had smiles and went back to the party. I stood there with my back to Gino and I could sense he hadn't moved, nor have his friends or those he knew moved from where they were. That's when Jonathin collapsed and began shaking, without a chance to even say his name I had found myself kneeling down at Jonathin's side and panic running through my mind unable to react at all but cry silently.
