I'M ALIVE! :D

Sorry, I know it's been a year wait (lol, I'm horrible), but, I finally got around to uploading the next chapter. Sorry for the wait. Life's been... complicated. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the chapter. I might add more to it later on, but I just wanted to get this out as soon as possible since it's been sooooooo long.

Toph started walking down the narrow hallway that lead Aang's room. His grandpa, Gyatso, let her in, obviously oblivious to the fact that her and Aang were suppose to be fighting.

"Yeah, he should be in there. I haven't seen him come out yet." The old man said. "Make sure you knock first. You know how he likes his privacy."

"Thanks, Mr. Wan." Toph said before continuing down the hall off the main living space. Toph always found the Wan's household to be really claustrophobic compared to the four-story house she lived in with her parents. Their living room was about the size of her bathroom.

Toph stopped at the end of the hall, trying to remember which door was his bedroom. It had been so long since the last time she came over. Aang would usually be the one to come over her house. Understandably so, looking at this place. Her house seemed like a castle compared to this small, run-down apartment.

After a bit of back and forth, Toph chose a door and knocked, waiting semi-patiently for a reply.

There was no response.

"Twinkle Toes!" She called, "I know you're in there. You have to talk to me sooner or later."

Still nothing.

Hmf. More stubborn than I thought.

"Look, Aang," she spoke at a calmer tone. "I'm sorry I whooped your girlfriend's ass, but you have to admit she deserved it after what she said to me… I mean, how's a girl suppose to react? I know I have a bad temper, but Katara just kept pushing my buttons… and… I guess I may have taken it a little out of proportion, too. But it's not like it was undeserved, she-"

"Toph?"

Toph turned around to Aang who was standing there, his orange backpack hanging off his shoulder. He raised his brow at her before walking past her to open the door. "What are you doing here?" He asked, walking into the room.

"I came here to ask you why you've been ignoring me?" Toph walked in behind him.

Like the rest of apartment, Aang's room was small and narrow. His twin-sized bed was pushed into the corner of the room, while a wooden desk and a living chair occupied the others, all buried underneath piles of clothes and papers.

"Don't you ever clean this place?" Toph wrinkled her nose with disgust.

"Pft. You're one to talk." Aang kicked some of the clothes to the side to make room for them to walk.

Hm. He did have a point. "Guess I shouldn't be the one talking about how messy other people are. Huh?" She acknowledge her hipocrisy.

"I just couldn't find the time to clean up last weekend. We don't all have maids and butlers like you do." He lazily threw his backpack in his desk chair before taking seat on the bed.

"Yeah, but neither do Haru or Teo and they're rooms are still decent." Toph grumbled under her breath, propping herself down next to him.

"Well, Haru and Teo don't have to work and go to school full time. They also don't have the responsibility of taking care of their elderly, nearly disabled grandfathers, who are the only immediate family they have left. Or-"

"Okay, Twinkles toes. I get it." Toph waved him off.

"Anyways," Aang rested his back against his headboard, still avoiding looking the stubborn girl in the face. "as much as I would love to hear that half-ass apology you were giving earlier, I have more important things to worry about than you and Katara's bitch-fit the other day."

"Hey! That apology was not half-assed." Toph said defensively.

"S-sorry I kicked her ass. B-but she deserved it." Aang mocked. "Yeah… Real sincere, Toph."

"Well, she did!" Toph crossed her arms. "... And it's really your fault she got her ass kicked period! You're the one that invited her, knowing exactly how I felt about her. What did you expect to happen? Us to hold hands and sing 'Why Can't We Be Friends?'?"

Aang rolled his eyes in response. "Whatever. I'm not even the one you should be apologizing to in the first place. I'm not even apart of this."

"Who said you weren't?"

"I was just trying to play peacemaker, that's-"

"As usual." Toph cut him off and smirked at his irritated expression. She was always teasing him about being a little goody-goody.

"-that's technically not being involved." Aang continued. "I hate drama. Especially when it's petty drama. That entire fight could've been avoided if you both had stopped acting so immature. Hell, if Katara's dad wasn't the chief of police we probably would have gotten in a lot more trouble. More than you're usually in." He narrowed his eyes at her and Toph looked away, her arms still crossed over her chest. "So, whatever is going between you two, just keep me out of it, okay?"

"Hmpf." Toph signed through her nose. "… Not sure if that's even possible, but, whatever, sure. I just…-" she spoke with a more genuine tone, turning her head back to him. "I just don't want any problems between you and me. And… as long as you don't invite that b-" Aang narrowed his eyes again. "bllluueeee-loving girl," Toph corrected herself. No need to piss him off even more. "to hang with us, I doubt me and her will have anymore problems… For the time being, at least."

Aang sighed, shaking his head at that last sentence. Knowing Toph, that was probably the best he could get. "Alright. It's a deal." He stretched out his hand and Toph accepted it. He didn't let go after she tried to pull her hand back. "But," He stated firmly, looking her straight in the eye. "I want you both to apologize to each other."

Toph began to roll her eyes, but nodded. "Yeah, yeah. I will if she does… first!"

"Deal." Aang grinned a bit, sitting up on the bed before reaching over to hug his friend. Toph was caught off guard, but quickly welcomed the gesture. She took in Aang's scent as he wrapped his arms around her neck. Since when was he the hugging type, anyway? Must be hanging around that clingy, … Sugar-Queen bitch too much. Probably infected Twinkle Toes' brain with her prissy little hugs n' kisses n' shit.

Eh… Don't even wanna think about it.

Aang broke away after a while and Toph hoped her long bangs hide her burning cheeks. "What was that for?" she asked with an annoyed tone. "Sugar-Queen have you goin' all cuddly on me? What's next, makeovers?" Toph huffed, blowing her bangs from off her face.

"Sorry, I was just trying to be… comforting, I guess. Just a friendly hug." Toph's heart sank a bit at the last sentence. All these years and the poor boy still couldn't take a hint, huh…? Then again, that did come off a bit… jerky. Pft, as usual. "And nope, no makeovers. But maybe some baking." Aang got up from the bed and reached out his hand to help Toph up. "Come on, I still owe you that fruitpie."

Toph smiled and let him help lift her up. She was thankful their friendship could just pick back up from where they left off. Nothing was strong enough to break the bond they shared. Or at least, … she hoped. "Fruitpies, Twinkle toes. You promised me a feast, remember?" she smirked.

"Fine. Let's get a move on so we can start on your fruit-feast, Miss Bei Fong." He smiled back in return. "The kitchen awaits." Aang lead the way out of the stuffy room and started down the hall with Toph in toe. "And for the record," He looked over his shoulder with a warm smile. "there's no need for you to have a makeover. You look great the way you are."

Toph looked away as her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She punched his shoulder from behind, causing Aang to flinch and grip his shoulder with pain.

"Ow!" He glared at Toph as he rubbed his now bruised shoulder. "Why do you always have to hit me?"

"Stop whining." Toph followed him into the kitchen and shrugged. "That's… just how I show affection."

This chapter is short, I know. But I could only fit in one scene or else it would be a bit too long. We're getting to see a little bit of Taang now, as shown in the last part. I want to keep the relationships a bit subtle, I feel like I always make things too obvious. xD So I'm going to try to hold off for a bit before I bring all the feelings to the table.

Please review and give me some feedback and/or ideas for this story!

I would really appreciate it. It'll keep me motivated to continue and help me to improve my writing skills. Thank you!
