Sorry it took me so long to update.

Libby's POV

The morning has been a whirlwind of excitement and Brighty Aphrodite lip gloss. When I finally awake from a lengthy dream that strangely resembled a Brighty Aphrodite commercial, I immediately remember Mother's instructions. Only yesterday, she visited our cabin, gave us a stunning assortment of products from her brand and instructed us on how to spread the Aphrodite spirit to the entire camp.

I arrived at Camp Half-Blood at the end of November last year. My father dropped me off without incident, telling me it was where my mother would want me to be. I was claimed by Aphrodite in early December, on my thirteenth birthday. And then Piper McLean came. Drew stepped down, which was a cause for celebration. I had already been forced to wear the Shoes of Shame twice in two weeks.

But not until yesterday had I seen my mother in person.

I hop from my bed and rummage through my clothing cabinet. I pull a Camp Half Blood sundress from the orange section of the trunk and press my palm to the button at the back of my bed. The wall seems to fold in on itself, revealing a staircase spiraling down to the Makeover Bunker. I hurry downstairs and flash a wide grin at my siblings.

I pull the divider around my little section as I change. When I am comfortably dressed I put back the divider and reach for my rack of makeup.

Someone bumps into my arm. I turn. It's Lacy.

She greets me with a smile. "Hey! Excited?"

"You bet."

"Any idea how we're actually going to get the OlympusPharmacy sleeping stuff into their drinks?" she asks. "We could have Piper or Drew charmspeak everyone into paying attention to her while we do it, but I don't think either of them is going to agree."

She's right, they won't. Piper is scoffing at the entire scheme, and since Drew stepped down just a month after I arrived she's hardly spoken to anyone. If we are going to distribute the sleeping potion, we will need a better disguise.

"We could talk to Lou Ellen," I suggest. "She's a daughter of Hecate. She'll be able to shroud us in the Mist. I'm sure she'd be willing to help."

"Good idea." Lacy flashes me a smile.

We apply our makeup as quickly as we can and begin the trek over to the dining pavilion. We are typically the last cabin to arrive, but today when we get there only the Athena cabin has taken their seats. We sit down at Table Ten, ignoring the odd looks they shoot us.

Lacy speaks first. "Rudy- you have the stuff, right?"

The eleven-year-old at the far end of the table draws three clear vials from his pocket. "Yeah. What's the plan?"

"I was getting to that." Lacy grins. "Lou Ellen's going to help us. Amy's gone to get her. Only a few of us can go around this meal. It'll be easier on Lou Ellen, and it'll attract less attention. How about Rudy, me and Libby? We can switch it around at lunch," she adds when the grumbles begin.

The Iris and Demeter cabins file into the dining pavilion. A small Asian girl weaves through the campers, a taller girl with dark hair and green eyes at her heels.

"Thanks, Amy," Lacy says, giving the smaller girl a warm smile. Amy grins and takes her seat between Rudy and Piper. "Morning, Lou Ellen. I assume Amy filled you in?"

The teenager shakes her head, suppressing a smile. "Amy was too excited to talk. All I could make out was 'Aphrodite' and 'sleep'. I heard Aphrodite came yesterday, but sleep? If you want to put people to sleep, well, I could do that, but it'd be better to ask Clovis."

"We have OlympusPharmacy sleeping powder," I say, pointing at the vials resting in Rudy's hand. "We just need you to hide us so we can distribute some. Mom requested it. We're going to - you'll see. Just don't tell anyone."

"I won't," Lou Ellen promises. Behind her, Nemesis's two children walk into the pavilion, closely followed by Tyche's three and Ares's dozen. She looks up. Only two cabins have not yet arrived. The Apollo cabin is walking up the grassy path, Will Solace in the lead. "I should get back to my table." She leaves, ducking around the ten-year-old girl who finishes the Apollo parade.

At the front of the mess hall, Chiron checks the clock. It's eight. Once again we are waiting on the Hermes cabin. With more campers than any other cabin, even after the gods started claiming their children before thirteen, they are almost always the last to arrive.

A full five minutes, the clan crests the distant hill. Chiron taps his foot impatiently. The campers file into the pavilion. At the end of the line, bedheadded and yawning, is Simon, the ten-year-old who arrived only days ago. Mother personally requested that he be included in this scheme, and I will be happy to comply.

"Late again, Travis, Connor," Chiron says disapprovingly. "You just forfeited your four o'clock shower slot for tomorrow." The Hermes campers groan. Chiron waves his hand, and the shower schedule on the wall shifts, bumping the Hermes cabin down to the last slot, just before dinner.

The hot water rarely lasts past lunch. It is lukewarm at best until six or so, after which the water is nearly unbearable. When I was in the Hermes cabin, we rarely got a slot earlier than five, but since entering the Aphrodite cabin, only twice have we been after five thirty.

There is almost always at least one open slot. There are nineteen shower slots, but all nineteen are only used if all cabins are occupied (beside Hera's, of course) and the Hunters are present. The Hunters are not here, though, and the Hades cabin hasn't been occupied for weeks.

Chiron quiets the campers and raises his glass. "To the gods!"

We line up at the fire. I scrape a couple of strawberries into the flames. I hope Mom likes strawberries. They make up a good half of a typical breakfast here. She seemed happy enough yesterday, so I'm not too worried.

I eat the meal as quickly as I can, then glance over at Lou Ellen. She is sitting alone at the Hecate table, passing a sphere of what looks like heat waves between her hands. The Mist. She looks over and our eyes meet.

She gives me a slight nod. "When you're ready," she mouths.

I grin and turn back to Lacy and Rudy. "It's time," I announce.

Rudy hands both of us a vial. "This is only enough for one person," he warns. "If you try to use it on two, they'll both be walking around in a trance for the next few hours. We have a lot more back at the cabin. Only do one person. I'll get..." He scans the mess hall. "I'll get Sherman." His young face splits into a wide grin as he regards the buff sixteen-year-old bully from the Ares table.

"I'll get Simon." I point at the ten-year-old sitting at the close end of the Hermes table.

Lacy looks around the pavilion. Her eyes settle on the Apollo table. "Kayla," she decides. "She never wears makeup. Or dresses. She deserves something nice for a change."

"Great." I look back at Lou Ellen, my blue eyes meeting her green. "Now," I mouth.

She nods, giving me a small smile. She rests her hand on the table, palm up. The heat waves rise from it once more, this time expanding and enveloping the entire pavilion. Chiron looks up when the waves hit him. He glances at Lou Ellen. His eyes drift over to the Aphrodite table, and he smiles. I can tell the Mist does not fool him, but he looks back down at his meal.

I get to my feet, rolling the vial across my palm with my thumb, and make my way over to the Hermes table. I glance down at the vial, but my hand is little more than a length of Lou Ellen's heat waves. If I was not looking for it, I would not have noticed it at all. I fumble blindly for the cap to the vial. When it finally comes off, I bend over Simon's cup. The goblet is filled with milk. Perfect, simply adorable for a ten-year-old little boy. I try to avoid squeeing and empty the capsule of OlympusPharmacy powder into the liquid.

Simon does not notice, of course. He is staring in awe at Travis Stoll, who is recounting the tale of his stupid mango. He painted it gold and threw it into the Aphrodite cabin just a week after I was claimed. When we returned from archery practice, it was sitting in the middle of the floor, along with a note reading: For the hottest. Drew pounced on it immediately, of course. Normally no one would dare cross her, but a fight erupted leaving scratches and blood on nearly everyone in the cabin before someone finally realized the mango wasn't actually golden.

Travis retells this story with glee, leaving out the part where we applied permanent makeup on him and shrunk all of Connor's clothes. Well, it technically wasn't permanent - it wore off after a few days - but he still doesn't mention it.

I return to the Aphrodite table. Lacy and Rudy are both already back. I give Lou Ellen a thumbs up, and she grins at me. She looks tired, but she won't regret it when she sees what we will have done to the other campers.

After an eternity, the meal ends. As we leave the mess hall, I trail after Simon. He probably won't make it back to the cabin, so he'll need someone to catch him!
