A/N: Glace was slightly inspired by Imp, but the rest of the story is quite different from Twelve! Twelve just gave me the idea.

Zane sighed as he set his internal clock. Then, he peeked up at the branch Cole was on. Now, he was talking to someone. Zane narrowed his eyes. It's Lloyd! Zane smiled softly to himself, almost guessing what Lloyd was trying to do. Cole turned away from Lloyd sadly and Lloyd nodded and left. As Zane was approaching Cole, he heard the end of Lloyd's conversation: "You know where to find me."

Cole sighed and continued hacking at his branch.

Zane noticed Cole's depressed posture and narrowed his eyes. "You really don't need to be so depressed," Zane muttered to himself.

Cole looked down for a moment, raising an eyebrow. Then he slammed his axe into the branch and it fell right in front of Zane.

Zane nearly jumped back, but at the last second, he remembered there was no point. He couldn't register pain.

Cole skidded down the redwood and approached the branch. Zane stood in place, staring. Cole wasn't even wearing a gi at this point, just ragged clothes.

Cole narrowed his eyes and Zane remembered that he was supposed to be Cole's guardian angel. "Zane?" Cole quietly whispered to himself.

Zane stood there, planning his next move. Zane slowly nodded, before attempting to explain to Cole. "I'm only part of the real Zane," he sighed, wishing this was true. "The real Zane is still out there. I'm just here for mental support."

Cole frowned. "Am I hallucinating?"

Zane shook his head. "No," Zane answered. "You may be grieving, but you are completely healthy."

"Oh," Cole murmured quietly. "Um…. What are you?"

Zane shrugged. "I guess I am your Guardian Angel."

Cole raised an eyebrow. "I don't get it. You died. Then, you're watching over me?"

Zane shrugged. "Basically."

Cole sighed. "Maybe, Lloyd can use a visit."

Zane gazed down. Cole was probably confused, shocked, and depressed.

Zane answered with a shrug. He really didn't know what to say!
