Disclaimer: Is everyone looking forward to seeing Episode VII: Heir to the Empire? No? That's because I don't own STAR WARS.
While Jacen was away, Allana was growing up.
She hadn't even been able to speak at all last time he had seen her, now she was talking in complete sentences. "This is- Jacen. This is Jedi Jacen." Tenel-ka said to Allana as he stepped into the hidden room.
Daddy. She couldn't introduce him as Allana's daddy. They had agreed on that ahead of time, but it didn't soften the blow for either of them. Allana seemed to have picked up on something, either through the force or through one of her parents' body language, because she frowned, at Jacen suspiciously and turned to her mother to say,
"Why aw you sad Mah- mee?"
She smiled. "It's a grown-up thing.
She turned to face Jacen. Was he familiar to her? He had been reaching out in the force to her and Tenel-ka as much as he could, he had hoped she would at least recognise his force presence.
All he said was, "I got you something." And held out a wrapped present to her.
"What do you say?" Asked Tenel-ka.
"Dank you Yedi Yacen." Said Allana, ripping it open.
It was a very simple puzzle, that could spell out Allanas name. To his delight, a glow in the force from her told him she was genuinely pleased with the gift.
Allana continued to be wary of him, but by the time the day was over, she had warmed to him considerably. Enough so that he felt safe singing a lullaby to her that he remembered his mother singing.
Green grasses beckon soft and warm
My arms will keep you safe from harm
As thrantas dance across the sky
As stars smile down and South winds sigh
The scent of flowers fills the air
And sleep comes for Allana fair
