It was my first day working back at Buck's Ranch. I knew where everything was and knew exactly what to do so I could be out of work earlier than what was expected. As I walked and fed each horse, I arrived at Mickey's stall. This was my brother, Sodapop's, beloved horse. Our mother gave him to Soda. Mickey was mean to everyone except Soda and myself. He will throw everyone off of him, doesn't matter who you are. Soda and I are the only ones able to ride this horse.

After the horses were fed, I cleaned up the stalls and swept the barn. Soon enough, everyone showed up to take their horses out for a ride or to visit them. Buck allowed people to rent stalls to put up their horses. Buck himself, owned cattle and sheep. He was in the process of building an area for some pigs. Once my morning job was done, I always took Mickey around the ranch and trail areas.

"Ready Mickey?" I asked petting the horse and brushing out his hair. He huffed slightly at me and leaned down for me to climb onto him. He was a rather large horse, hence why so many people feared him. We spent about two – three hours wandering around the ranch and wooded trails. We got back around three, just in time for me to feed the horses and toss some hay into their stalls. Once my final stall was filled and I did my check, I said my goodbyes to Mickey and headed on home.

"Hey Rose! Wait up!" I heard someone shout from behind me. It was Johnny Cade.

"Hey Johnnycakes! What are you up too?" I smiled widely at him. He smiled and caught up to me.

"I've been looking for you. The gang and I are going to the movies, and we wanted to see if you'd like to go." Johnny said. I smiled remembering all the times we snuck in under the fence to see a movie.
"Why not. Lets do it. But first, I need to change." I said looking at my dirty farm clothes. Johnny laughed and we walked to my house in a comfortable silence.

We arrived back at the house, I went and took a quick shower, only to climb out and realize 'SHIT' I forgot my clothes. I sighed and stared up at the ceiling while listening to hear who was in the living room. It sounded like Pony, Soda, Steve, Johnny and Darry were the only ones in there. I sighed grabbing the door handle, 'Here goes nothing' I thought and darted out the door. I heard a whistle as I made it to my room and shut the door.

"Why run baby! It don't bother me none!" Two-bit yelled, laughing up a storm. I felt a lump form in my throat, realizing, he hasn't made any comment like that since I had been back. I quickly did my eyeliner, brushed through my hair, and dug out some clothes. I chose a pair of skinny jeans, black converse, a black tank top and grabbed my jean jacket just incase. I put on the necklace Two-bit had given me. I looked at myself in the mirror, and got lost in my own thoughts. I then noticed the scar that has yet to fade on my collar bone. I cringed remembering what had caused that permanent scar..

***California, Three months ago***

"Bye chris! Have a good night!" I said walking out of my work, Chris was my boss. I had just gotten off the clock at around 1 am from waitressing and helping clean up the resturaunt. I was almost home, when I heard someone walking very fast towards me. I turned around only to be tackled.

"Hey there pretty little thing." The black figure who I couldn't make out at all in the dark, said. I was about to let out a loud scream when suddenly something sharp touched my skin. I gasped.

"Don't even think about doing that baby girl. There is no reason for it." He growled. I felt hot tears well up in my eyes. What happened next, well I don't remember, I blacked out from fear and from the major panic attack I had from the moment I was taken down to the point the knife touched my neck.
****End****

"ROSEMARY LETS GO! WERE GONNA BE LATE!" Dallas yelled.

"I'M COMING." I yelled back and darted out the door. I tried to shake off my thought process but apparently it showed on my face.

"Rose, you alright?" Darry asked when I walked out.

"Yeah Darry, I'm fine. Just thinking is all." I said, but he could see through my fake smile. He shrugged it off and mumbled something like 'we will talk later'. But I ran out the door to catch up to the guys.

Steve and Soda were talking about their girls. Dally was chatting with Johnny about the Soc that had left the scar on his face, While Pony and I were drifting behind just talking about whatever came to our thoughts.

"Hey Rose…I don't mean to pry or anything, but I noticed something on your neck and was gonna ask what happened..?" He asked nervously. I sighed.

"I got attacked in California. Nothing major." I said annoyed. Pony looked like he wanted to say something, but he changed the subject. We all arrived at the movies and as usual, snuck under the fence. Once we found our seats, we heard someone laughing as loud as they could. Then I realized who had been missing on our walk here, Two-Bit. We all turned to see him tumbling over and laughing holding a beer in his hand. I stifled a laugh and turned back to the movie.

"Hey baby, wanna see whats hangin'?" Two-bit asked me as he sat down next to me. I started laughing and just gently slapped his arm.

"Oh hush up Two! I outta hang ya!" I said with a smirk.

"Whatevers your thing babe." He smirked and started laughing again. I rolled my eyes and the other guys just laughed at Two-Bit in his drunken state. The movie went on, a odd joke here and there. Then we started our walk back, all talkin' and it felt like nothing had changed. Then Two-Bit grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes.

"Rose, can we talk?" He asked. I looked down at my shoes, then back up.

"About what?" I mumbled, feeling nervous and excited at the same time.

"What happened last September." He said.
