This is going to work. It has to work. After he discovered his crocodile was planning on leaving and what his precious totem was: A shawl his son wore. How dare he? How could he hold something that Milah held? That she made? And it belonged to Bae, anyways. Not him. Hadn't he caused Bae enough pain in his life? Killian's own plan was simple and it meant he got to play with the crocodile's housekeeper.
Killian made his way to the library quietly and did one of the things he had become quite good at: Waiting. He casually scanned a book titled "From the Keel Up: A Nautical Guide" and lost himself in it until he heard her approach. He marked his page with a knot he had been working on and then he heard that accent-sweetened honey voice…
"Uh…. Sorry, the library's not open yet."
He smiled and set the book aside. "Oh, I'm not here for the books, love."
Belle got a better view of him and a look of recognition dawned upon her face. "You! You're the one that broke into my cell at the Queen's palace….You wanted to kill Rumpelstiltskin." And then she started, running for her life.
Killian quickly dashes after her, determined as ever to at least give her a good scare. At most? Who knows? "Oh I still do. But right now I'll settle for you."
He pounced at her…only to be pinned to the ground by a bookshelf. She was more resourceful than he anticipated. He groaned as he shoved the damned thing off and tried to stop the librarian before she closed the doors to the elevator where she'd found shelter but, it was too late. That slippery little mix. It's a shame I couldn't tease her more. I'd have loved to get my hook in that one. He listened a moment as she struggled with her phone and, his job done for the time being, headed out.
Not long afterwards, he went the rooftop where he told Smee to meet him. While he waited for his man to arrive, he spied though his looking glass at the goings on down and across the street from where he was. Belle and the crocodile were walking along together. It made him sick. He stopped when Smee walked up beside him timidly.
The Captain cocked an eyebrow. "You have it, Mr. Smee?"
Smee handed over the shawl and, unable to curb is curiosity, asked "What is it, Cap'n?"
Killian took the shawl and caressed it lovingly with his thumb. "It's the end of the Crocodile's hope. Now he's trapped here." With me.
