Chapter 3: Trains

"Good-bye Father!" We shouted. We walked the train until we found a compartment with two boys. One was like a pack of potatoes with dirty blonde hair and small, watery blue eyes. the other was tall for his age, had auburn hair with clear blue eyes. I walked right in. I sat down in the right window seat.

"Who are you?" I asked. "Ow!" Lucius stomped on my foot.

"Don't talk to them," he hissed.

"I can talk to who I want to talk to," I hissed back. The two boys were watching us warily. "And plus, I want some friends besides you and other snobs," my brother angered even more at this.

"I am leaving," I waved good-bye.

"Who are you and how do you do that?" the sack of potatoes asked.

"I'm Amalthea and how do i do what?" i asked, confused. I just argued with my brother.

"Fight with Lucius Malfoy."

"He's my brother and we always fight. I quite disagree with his ways," I sat up straighter.

"So, you're a Malfoy?" the tall one questioned.

"Yes. Now who are you?" I commanded.

"Remus Lupin," the tall one said.

"Peter Pettigrew," the sack of potatoes said. I nodded.

"So, what's your favorite quidditch team? Mine's the Wimbourne Wasps." I stated.

We were ushered off the train. We heard a large man yelling, "Firs' years! O'er 'ere!" We walked to the shore of the Black Lake. Remus and Peter joined with Sirius and James Potter. I walked over to sit with Daphne Greengrass, and two others whom I did not know. They talked amongst themselves.

"Hello. I'm Lily Evans. What's your name?" The redhead spoke softly.

"Amalthea. I have not heard the last name Evans. Are a half-blood or a mu-muggleborn?" I asked as politely as I could. The other girl looked confused but when her friend whispered in her ear, she made an 'o'.

"Muggleborn," she nodded.

"What house are you hoping for? I'm Mary McDonald, by the way."

"I hope for Gryffindor. Unlike my twin. And the rest of my family." I held off any more info until the boats stopped at the shore.

"Had fun with the girls, Amalthea?" Lucius walked over.

"Yes, I find that I did, Lucius," I moved on. He walked over to a group of purebloods.

"Hello, Thea!" Sirius chirped.

"Stop calling me that, Black!" I growled, truly angry. Potter stayed back. I walked away, hoping Sirius would get the message like Lucius did. My hopes were crushed.

"You wanna be a rebel like me, Thea?"

"There's a possibility." He was called up.

"GRYFFINDOR!" I clapped, happy for the annoying boy. I was called up later.

Hm. Interesting mind you have here. I'll put you in "GRYFFINDOR!" I took off the wrinkled hat and strode off to sit next to Sirius.

"Did you feel this shy, when everybody was staring at you?" I asked him.

"They were staring?!" He smiled. I sighed, realizing we would have to share a dorm. Food arrived and Sirius and I ate like starved dogs. Constant mutters of 'hand me the gravy' or 'hand me some more pumpkin juice' or other 'hand me's were heard.
