Ch 3: the hardships of a normal life

At the groceries store, Hime collected the things that she needed and bid farewell to Wendy as Wendy was going to the arcade with a dragon slayer called Natsu right after her shopping.

Hime was slightly jealous but she knew that after she got to know the rest well, she too would be invited to these kind of hang outs. By the time Hime reached home, it was lunch time so she got started with arranging her lunch. She threw the bacon and eggs onto the pan on the stove and cooked them well. After they were cooked she was unable to get them off the pan! She struggled but by mistake she touched the piping hot pan and burnt her finger. She hollered with pain.

The pan set on fire then burning up her lunch. She grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed the fumes over the fire. The fire died but the pain of finger still seared through her. The phone rang on cue. She picked it up with her good hand and figured out it was Lucy. Lucy said, "hey are you fine Hime? I heard the fire alarm go so…" "I am okay but my lunch just got burnt." Hime answered. "Oh! You're only a ten year old! You make mistakes! I have some extra lunch at home. I would be pleased to share." Grateful to the offer, Hime collected her keys and left it dangling out of her jeans pockets while making her way to Lucy's house on 1st floor.

Lucy welcomed Hime into her house as nicely as she could. Lucy tended to Hime's wound on her finger. Hime felt grateful once again to have such caring elders. Lucy displayed a lovely bowl of rice and a plate of sushi at Hime's side of the table. Hime's stomach growled in response to the waft of smell the sushi was emitting. Hime gobbled it all up as Lucy laughed at Hime. "It looks like you have not eaten for days!" She laughed. "Mirajane was right. You do make people smile." Hime smiled triumphantly as she received the compliment from Lucy.

Then Lucy told her, "come along now Hime. We can go see Makarov so that he can give you your guild sign." "What colour will it be?" Asked the old master of Fairy Tail. "Ummm orange. I want it on my shoulder." When the stamp was placed Hime felt like a real member of her new found family. It felt like a stamp that kept her together with a victory.

That showed people what she won. Something like a trophy. A trophy which would show the people how great she was. She re-braided her hair. With a simple bye Hime left to see how Wendy was doing. Suddenly she felt her keys slipping out of her jeans pocket. She turned around a second later. A young girl with foxy ears and a tail ran across the street with Hime's keys in her hands. With her new found family which gave her strength she lunged at the girl flying with rage.

She could not bare another day on the shed floor and she would not. She would win this one way of the other.
