Memories friends and alien robots rewrite chapter 4

(Present day)

Now that Jamie had basically told every Autobot on the council how she had met Arcee, the meeting was adjourned. She was going to be asked more about things related to it as well as more about Sari tomorrow since Red Alert, taking a break from her most recent project, had arrived and was criticizing everyone for not thinking that maybe someone who wasn't a machine needed more rest.

"I'll let her recharge with me." Jazz immediately volunteered.

Ultra Magnus nodded his approval. "Thank you Jazz; do not let her out of your sight."

The "cool" Elite Guard member transformed into his more Earthen altmode but just before Jamie could get in, she was pulled away.

"Hey, what's the big idea-ouch!" She screamed.

Red Alert had grabbed the college student and given her a shot. "Since we do not have 'food' for you, I had to inject the nutrients you needed." The medic explained to the human woman.

"Thanks I guess." Jamie grumbled as she was put down. She then got into Jazz's altmode and he had driven her back to his apartment in Iacon.

"You okay kid?" Jazz asked once they pulled up.

Jamie got out so that the white mech could transform. Once he did, he picked her up and took her inside the building. "Yeah, I just didn't think you guys would actually listen when I told my story; I mean, Arcee's important obviously and so is Sari since we're still finding out more things about her that we didn't know before and not just her being technorganic but the fact that I've been explaining what I can is surprising."

"Yah did a good job answering everything." Jazz assured her. He got into his apartment and walked in. He closed the door and locked it behind him, then set the human on what could only be described as a coffee table while he went to look for something soft she could lie down on. He soon found an extra pillow and put it on the side table near his berth then took Jamie into that room and politely went out so that she could change her clothes.

When she had finished getting on some pajamas, Jamie told Jazz "you can come back in now."

The white mech did so and lifted her onto the pillow on the table. "Are yah comfy?"

"Yes." She replied.

Jazz turned off the lights after he got himself an energon cube then lay down on his berth. "I'll wake you up when it's time to leave."

"Thanks." Jamie yawned and went to sleep; she knew she would be fine the next morning. Of all the Elite Guard 'bots, she liked Jazz the best. Ultra Magnus would be second. Sentinel Prime-well, she very strongly disliked him and would have insulted him had that been allowed…

The very next day when the meeting resumed, Jamie was now sitting on a small chair; those kinds of seats were normally used for Mini-Cons, who were about human sized and she wasn't going to be able to stand the whole time.

"When did you finally tell Sari what you did know about her origins?" Alpha Trion asked.

"Well, it wasn't until a few days after I went back to school." The human college student continued her story…

(flashback)

When visiting Arcee in the medbay that Friday morning, Jamie was surprised at how calm the former spy was. Then again, the femme probably had dealt with a lot worse than one human person. They politely talked and soon Jamie was brought home by Bumblebee, who was headed out to look for any leads on Professor Sumdac's disappearance. The human girl went inside and changed her clothes and began doing a few chores since her father was still asleep. He awoke around 11:00 a.m. and came downstairs. "Good morning." He said.

"Good morning Dad; aren't we going to go get my school schedule soon and some newer school stuff just in case I need extra?" Jamie asked as she began making grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

"We'll go do both this afternoon." Mr. Anderson assured his daughter. "By the way, the Witwickys called last night while you were gone; they were wondering if you can babysit Daniel tomorrow night until 11:30. They have a baby girl named Nancy now but she won't be able to be away from her mother for a while so perhaps the next time you see them, you'll be able to watch both of them."

"Of course I can." Jamie called them back.

The rest of the day and the weekend went by fast. Jamie had gotten her school supplies, the babysitting job had gone well, going to church that Sunday had been easy though it was hard for Jamie to focus on the service since she was nervous about returning to school though also still worried about how to tell Sari what she did know about where the latter came from. Maybe later in the week I will, she thought.

On the first day of school, things went well. Jamie's no longer former classmates welcomed her back and she befriended Justin, a guy who had wanted to get an internship at Sumdac Systems to help him through college after he 2 graduated in 2 years. The teachers were glad to see Jamie as well since she was mostly a straight-A student, only occasionally getting a B or C. and it helped that she did not behave as badly as some of her classmates did despite the hormones that teenagers typically deal with.

When she got home, Jamie was not surprised that her father wasn't home yet. Finally, there was some kind of sense of normalcy. He would be back around 6:00 p.m. though so Jamie did not have to make dinner yet; in fact, her father insisted that he do the cooking sometimes and wanted to do so tonight if he wasn't too tired.

The orange haired girl flipped through the student handbook and did some homework so that she'd be closer to where her classmates were with learning things. When Mr. Anderson did get home, he made some dinner then they both would do a few more chores while the TV played in the background then they would pray and Jamie would go to bed by about 10:30 p.m. while her father checked his email messages before he himself went to bed. This after school routine continued for 2 more days and on Thursday after school, it would have been the same thing but Sari had left her a message saying to come to the base. Thus Jamie got off the bus and walked the short distance to the Autobots' base.

Jamie went inside and saw that Arcee wasn't in the main room, meaning Ratchet was still making her rest a little.

"Arcee's walking around the medbay a bit but isn't allowed out until the beginning of next week." Bumblebee explained when the teenager had asked. "You know, Doc's orders and everything."

"Where's Sari?" Jamie asked.

"Over here!" Sari went over to Jamie and said "Still no sign of my dad anywhere; Bee went near some old mines to look for clues but an avalanche started and he had to leave before he could check it out more."

"I hope you guys have better luck with that." The older girl replied. She then said "Speaking of, Sari, I really think I should tell you something. I would have waited until both of our dads were here but I think you and especially the Autobots deserve to know the little bit that I know about where you came from right now."

The other Autobots, including Arcee and Ratchet, soon came in to the main room after Bumblebee called them; Jamie told them everything that she had spoken to Prowl about. "To put it short, I know you're not human, Sari. I always knew and so did our dads; your dad just never told my family a lot of details about where he found you and whatever else that he knew about you." She said. "We lied to you because we didn't want anyone doing illegal experimenting on you if they happened to have overheard or anything worse. I'm very, very sorry for my part in this. I swore with my dad not to tell but promises are made to be broken in this case" She finished.

All the other Autobots were shocked. Sari on the other hand was angry and on the verge of tears. "I've been lied to that I was an orphan who was adopted from my dad's home country of India?!" she shouted. "I can't believe you did that! I always wanted to be like you Jamie and I thought you were the best almost big sister and best babysitter."

"No one's perfect Sari; everybody screws up at some point." Jamie said.

Sari then did something that was unexpected. "You're such a glitch Jamie! I'll never trust you again! Just go home! I'll never forgive you! " she shouted angrily.

"Sari, don't curse-" Optimus Prime tried to tell her but Sari was already running away out a back door.

"That could have gone worse." Bumblebee admitted.

"That's the biggest understatement of the year." Jamie muttered.

"Prowl, take Jamie home, Ratchet, stay with Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead, come with me. We need to stop Sari before she gets into a dangerous situation." Optimus ordered.

Everyone did as they said and Jamie got onto Prowl when he was in his motorcycle alternate mode. She had also put a helmet on and was silent the whole ride home. Once she had been dropped off and Prowl was gone, Jamie went to look for Sari herself. I'll find you Sari, I'll find you, the teenager promised to herself.

(Flashback interrupted.)

"Do you realize how stupid that was since Decepticons were all over Earth then?!" Sentinel Prime shouted.

"I was not thinking about that at the time but did realize it much later because as humans say 'hindsight is 20/20.'" Jamie answered. "Anyways, I kept looking for her. I was determined to somehow set things right…"

(Resume flashback)

It took a while but soon Jamie found Sari but it was in a less than ideal situation. The younger girl was being confronted by someone that Jamie was sure was a pedophile guy. The girl wasted no time in distracting him by heaving a rock at the man. It missed his head but it hit his legs, knocking him off balance.

Sari ran over to Jamie and then both girls ran. The would-be attacker was coming after them and the teenager was on the phone with 911 as she and the younger girl ran back into the city.

Perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps it was fate, but when he had caught up, said would-be attacker was being fought off by Jamie when Captain Fanzone happened to show up since he was driving that way on patrol that night. Sari explained the whole situation as the police captain pulled the man off the teenager and handcuffed him with the help of some police 'bots.

(Flashback interrupted again)

Several 'bots looked as though they were about to purge.

"You mean some older organics think it's all right to interface with those too young to understand?!" Botanica, one of the council members, shouted horrified.

"Unfortunately, yes. These days in most places on Earth that are not America, the punishment is castration of said pedophiles to make it harder for them to reoffend. America on the other hand has other punishments depending on the state." Jamie explained. "Needless to say, the would be rapist was charged with attempting to rape me instead since there was no proof that Sari existed so that he could still face punishment. He is currently still in prison to this day…"

(Flashback resumed)

As soon as they had made a statement to the police about what happened, Sari and Jamie had returned to the Autobot base and Jamie's father was also there.

"We would like both of you to explain exactly what happened here." Mr. Anderson told both girls sternly.

Sari explained the whole story and was now crying all over again. "If Jamie hadn't come when she did, I wouldn't be here right now." She finished.

"I'm sorry I told her what we did know about her before you and Professor Sumdac could be present but I didn't realize she'd try to run away afterwards and I thought it would be better if she did finally know." Jamie added. "If anything, I should be punished, she shouldn't."

Bumblebee hugged Sari with one hand. "It will be all right Sari; that slagger is not going to hurt you again." He assured her.

"Sari, you will not be punished for running away. The fact that you were assaulted and nearly killed is enough of one." Optimus Prime said.

"I agree Prime." Ratchet added.

Mr. Anderson turned to his daughter. "Jamie Kayla Linda Anderson, as stupid as that was going off on your own, I am very glad that you saved Sari's life. You won't be punished either but please don't do something like that again."

"I won't Dad; I promise." Jamie said, giving him a hug. She then turned to Sari, who had stopped hugging Bumblebee but was still crying a little. "Does this whole thing mean you forgive me and my dad?"

"I think it does." Sari hugged both Andersons and smiled a little.

"Sari, your father will be found and if he is alive, I am sure he will tell you more about where you came from." Mr. Anderson assured her.

Soon the Andersons had gone home and things were well, as normal as they could get with the Autobots. The team had gotten involved in some kind of illegal street race in their race to get AllSpark fragments, 2 'bots called the Constructicons were brought to life with 2 said AllSpark fragments and the 'bots had caught a bunch of human criminals who had used some kind of device to shut down electricity in Detroit. Of course, that included hospital machines which supplied life support to some humans, who had died before the device was destroyed. The total number of human deaths was roughly around 30 or 40 something.

The next day, an otherwise nice spring day in mid-March, was a day of mourning across the city. Optimus Prime had given a speech apologizing for what had happened and wishing he could have prevented the human deaths that had happened the previous night.

Because of this, school had been canceled and Jamie with her father at the vigil/memorial ceremony. Sari was standing next to them and sobbing into Jamie's black dress.

"I wish my Key could bring those humans back to life." She admitted sadly.

"I know but what if they came back as zombies or anything like that?" Jamie asked. "Do you think it would be worth it? I think it wouldn't be. No matter how it happens, death is a natural part of life just as birth is. You can still miss your loved ones as time goes on but can continue with your life. I learned that when I lost my mom 9 years ago."

Arcee was there with the other Autobots now that she had recovered and out of the medbay though she had not gone on many missions with them. Once the ceremony was over many people went home while others simply walked around the city. The pink femme returned to the base with the other 'bots and Sari, who was thinking about what Jamie had said and sitting in Arcee's new altmode, a pink sports car. Jamie hadn't minded the altmode change; in fact, since she had a license to drive 4 wheeled vehicles she loved it. Right now though, said teenager wasn't present.

"Sari, is there anything you would like to talk about?" Arcee asked.

"Not right now." The young girl replied.

"If you do change your mind, all of us are here to listen to you." The femme assured Sari.

In the meanwhile, Jamie was at the church she attended with her father also there. Both were praying silently for those who had been affected by the battles between the Autobots and Decepticons and soon the teenager got up from her seat and went towards the lobby to grab a church bulletin.

When Mr. Anderson was ready to leave, Jamie unlocked the pickup truck and climbed into the driver's seat. "Can I drive us home this time Dad?" she asked.

"Certainly." He replied, smiling a little.

They got home soon enough and soon Jamie remembered something. "Oh yeah, Dad tomorrow's Younger Siblings Day at school! I've got to see if Sari still wants to go with me tomorrow." She said, quickly dialing Sari's number.

"Sure, I'll come tomorrow. Maybe it will help me get my mind off things." Sari replied, her tone of voice making it obvious that she was still upset after recent events when asked whether she still wanted to go. "Let me put Optimus on."

After a few more minutes, Optimus Prime had allowed Sari to go and visit Jamie's high school the very next day. Jamie thanked him and hung up the phone. "Hopefully, tomorrow will go well." She commented, more to herself than to her father as she went to get ready for bed.

As it was though, things were about to go horribly wrong…
