A/N: I know that it has been a long time since I have updated this story or my other two Roswell stories and for that I am so very sorry... The good news is that I am back with a new chapter for this story and my other two Roswell stories... Enjoy!

Max waited until he made sure that Liz was gone from hearing range before he turned to Jeff Parker with concern in his eyes. "What is wrong with Liz, Mr. Parker? Why is she so damn thin?"

Jeff sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. "Liz is sick, Max. She came back so that I could help her with Maxine while she has treatment. Liz is strong, Max, so she will make it through this but right now she needs some help and people to lean on. If you can honestly be there for her then do so but I am warning you now that if you hurt my little girl again I will make sure that you live to regret it. Am I clear?"

Max nodded. "What can I do to help, Mr. Parker?"

Jeff thought about it for a minute and then smiled. "If you really want to help then you can do so by driving Liz to her appointments. I could and can do it but I think that you and Liz need some time with just the two of you. You can also help by helping to keep an eye on Maxine so that Liz isn't stressing out about things that she shouldn't be. Right now she needs to be as stress free as she can since her treatments start tomorrow."

Michael who had been listening silently to Jeff talk finally stepped in and said "We can all take turns sitting with Liz and her daughter. You shouldn't have to worry about this on your own, Mr. Parker and neither should Mrs. Parker. What exactly is wrong with Liz? What kind of treatments does she have to have?"

Jeff groaned. "Liz has kidney failure and the doctor has not been able to find out why. She will be going to Dialysis twice a week and she is on the list for a kidney transplant but so far she's hasn't been paged for one. Nancy and I both got tested and unfortunately we weren't matches or we would give one of our kidney's up to Liz. The only thing we can do is hope that a donor will be found soon because if it isn't then I'm afraid that I will lose my baby girl."

At that Michael, Alex, Maria, Isabel, and Max all gasped but it was Alex who said "We can all get tested and see if we can donate a kidney to her, Mr. Parker."

Jeff smiled slightly at Alex. "That is up to you, Alex, but if you do then make sure that you are one hundred percent sure because if you or any of you are a match they will set the surgery up as quickly as they can."

Alex gave a small smile. "I think that I can talk for everyone when I say that I am sure. We will even talk to Jim and Kyle and see if they will get tested. Liz has always helped others with no questions asked so I think that it is time for everyone to help her. Is there anything else we can do to make things easier on Liz?"

Jeff shook his head. "Just be there for her if she wants to talk. She needs all the love and support that she can get right now. She feels like she is alone even though she isn't. I know that she has missed everyone from here since she has been gone but she didn't feel as if she could come back until now. I have to say, Max, that I am relieved to find out that you didn't sleep with Tess because you wanted to. I just wish that I would have known this years ago because then you wouldn't have missed Maxine's life up to this point."

Max shook his head as he sighed. "If I would have known why Liz left I would have did my damndest to find her and make her see the truth. I knew that Tess liked me and seemed to hate Liz but I never suspected that she would do what she did until she did it. She actually tried to pass her son off as mine until one of Kyle's friends came up and told me that she had slept with him. I am happy that even though she drugged me that I had thought to use protection when I slept with her. Tess knew that I would never sleep with her so the only way that she could make sure I did was by drugging me. And in all honesty I am not even one hundred percent sure I actually screwed her like she said I did because I don't remember it. I know that I had thought that she was Liz but I don't recall actually doing anything with her. I wonder if she had just made it look like we did something. I want to kill Tess for what she has done. She made sure that Liz would find us and would end up hurt and for that I can never forgive her. Not that I would ever forgive her anyways for what she had done to me."

Isabel put a hand on Max's shoulder. "You can't blame yourself for Tess' actions, Max. She did what she did knowing full well what they would result in. You never gave her any reason to believe that you liked her like that. Hell anyone with eyes could and can see that you only have eyes for Liz. It has always been and always will be Liz for you, Max. You two were made for one another. Now that Liz is back and you two have a daughter together you can finally show her just how much she means to you. If any two people in this world can make it through something like this it is you two."

Jeff squeezed Max's shoulder as he said "Isabel is correct, Max. I have no doubt that you can make Liz see that you two belong together. The only thing I will tell you is that you need to make sure that Liz is who you want for the rest of your life because you are who Liz has always wanted, Max. Now you five go off and come back in a couple of hours and you can see and talk to Liz for a while."

Alex grinned. "I'm going to go to my doctor's and see when I can get tested. We will all be back in a couple of hours, Mr. Parker. If you need us before that call one of our cell phones."

Jeff smiled and watched as the five left the Crashdown. He couldn't help but hope that one of them would be a match for his daughter. He sighed and shook his head to clear it and then got back to running his restaurant.
