The Sun, The Moon, The Stars
Chapter Three
Knowledge isn't free
"Knowledge isn't free, it always comes with a price."
Words that are between these () are her memories coming through. That way you guys are aware.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto but I do own the events I add into it and any OC's, and if I did own Naruto, Sakura would have had more character development and a bigger role!
Naruto, Ino, and Sakura were at the park sitting under one of the biggest tree's at the center.
Ino had told them Shikamaru and Choji would be arriving later but that Shikamaru was lazy and it would take a while.
"We've got to come up with a name for our village, and what we should call Naruto!" Sakura crowed happily.
Ino began to look around deep in thought about what they should name those.
They all three wanted it to mean something, to be unique to them, to their group.
The tree they were sitting under caught Ino's eye and she instantly recognized what it was.
"What about Usuzumigakure for the village name," Ino said with a smile. "We've thought of our group under this tree, it can be a symbol of our friendship."
"I like it!" Naruto said happily.
"We can name Naruto Tenkokage, he's got whiskers and is cute like a fox," Sakura said as she pinched his cheeks. "And Tenko is the most powerful and highest rank of the kitsune, the nine-tailed fox."
"Yeah!" Naruto said as he jumped up in happiness.
"This is going to be the best group of friends ever!" Ino said with a fist bump to the air. "We're better than all the rest."
"What's the first thing we should do, Tenkokage," Sakura said with a bow while she laughed.
"I announce you two as my Shinobi!" Naruto said jumped up and taking a stick to tap both of their shoulders with it. "Now go out and bring to me Shikamaru and Choji. It'll be your first job!"
Ino and Sakura laughed as they nodded.
"Great first mission, Tenkokage," Ino said as she jumped to attention, her giggles breaking through.
"We'll be back!" Sakura said as they both sprinted away pretending to jump through the air using Chakra.
It took them under an hour to find Shikamaru and Choji who were both laying down in the far back of the park, staring up at the clouds.
Ino fell to the ground next to Shikamaru, a groan of relief leaving her lips.
Sakura fell to the ground next to Choji, they were both happy to rest.
The park was bigger than they were expecting and they had run at full speed the whole time.
Shikamaru eyed the girl next to him but didn't say a word.
"You were supposed to be somewhere easy to find," Ino huffed out as she glared.
Shikamaru shrugged. In truth he had layed down in the first place he spotted away from anyone else.
"Yeah, not have us run all over the place!" Sakura growled out in anger as she pulled herself up into a sitting position.
"Troublesome," Shikamaru said as he lazily pulled himself up.
Choji stared at the two girls having not said a word yet.
"You two are going to play with us," Sakura said.
"Yeah, we made up a new game and we need more Shinobi for the Tenkokage," Ino said as she began to bounce around once more.
"Tenkokage?" Shikamaru asked.
"Yeah, the kage of our village Usuzumigakure," Ino said as she began to try to pull Shikamaru to his feet.
"Would you like to become Shinobi for our Tenkokage?" Sakura asked turninng to Choji.
"Who's that?" he asked curiously. He didn't want to play with anyone who would call him names, or make fun of him. Most kids did.
"Right now just us and Naruto," Sakura said with a smile trying to ease the boy. "He's our Tenkokage."
Neither boy's looked put off by the blonde haired kids name. A success in the small girls opinion.
"So will you play Choji-kun?" Sakura asked with a light smile as she leaned forward in hopefullness.
His cheeks seemed to turn a deep red as he thought over it.
Dark eyes sought out what Shikamaru was planning to say but deep inside he wanted to say yes.
They were asking him personally to join their group and play.
He would have someone everyday to join in games with, but he didn't want to leave Shikamaru if he said no. He had been his first friend, he'd stay with him in the end.
Shikamaru eyed the other boy and say the hope in his eyes. He sighed as he plopped back onto the ground to stare up at the sky.
He wished he had ignored his father's order to meet with Ino here.
Troublesome.
"Fine, we'll join your group."
"Yay!" Sakura and Ino said jumping to their feet.
"Come on, Naruto is waiting by the biggest tree in the park," Sakura said as she began to move back to her blonde friend.
"Yeah, it's like our headquarters now," Ino stated as she pulled Shikamaru up to his feet.
All four kids ran off to meet back up with Naruto, Shikamaru muttering how troublesome this all was under his breathe as they went.
"Naruto-kun!" Sakura said as she sped up to tackle him into a hug.
("Sakura-chan thanks for being there, for being my friend, even through the hardest times." Tears ran down his face, her own was wet with sadness as well. "I'm sorry I couldn't bring him back!")
She shook her head free of the memory hating when they snuck up on her like that.
Where were the good memories, why was everything so dark and sad.
It made her feel like crying but she couldn't. Shrugging her shoulders she held Naruto tighter before letting him go.
She had to get past this, that was someone else. That wasn't who she was now!
"You got them to come!" Naruto said happily as he bounded forward to greet the new kids.
'Sigh' Shikamaru went to sit under the tree nodding at Naruto as he passed.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Naruto crowed as he flung himself to a spot next to Choji.
Choji gave him a hesitant smile before offering him a chip from his bag. Naruto plunged his hand in a grabbed a chip to bring to his mouth.
Sakura quickly went into explaining how the game worked as the two new members listened and nodded.
Soon after they were all running around the park, pretending to be able to do jutsu's and save the princess that Naruto ordered them to do for a mission.
Shikamaru lagged behind the rest of them but even he had to admit that it was kind of fun.
星は闇なしに輝くことができません
Sakura sat on her roof once more, a tradition of her nightly routine since waking up in the hospital room.
It helped her deal with all of her memories, staring up at the stars and processing what she had seen. Honestly most were pretty horrific and hoped there wasn't more.
It was hard to keep those nightmares to herself, look with how she treated seeing the Uchiha family.
She hadn't even known they existed before that day in the park and now she freaks out anytime she see's Sasuke or his brother.
Sakura had liked Shisui, he was funny and listened to her, but now she would have to start avoiding him. He wouldn't leave what happened on their last meeting alone.
It was all too hard to explain.
Who would even believe her?
A yawn escaped from her mouth. She was so tired. Sleep was nightmare.
Her dreams were no longer peaceful and even the good ones always left her feeling yearful and sad.
She missed them.
Missed her Naruto that she only saw in dreams and flashbacks.
This Naruto was great but he wasn't yet the person she had left behind.
(Cold blue eyes stared back at her. A crushing sadness stiffled her inside and the gasp that had tried to escape from her mouth. A hand clutched at her chest. Something was breaking inside of her.)
Flinching back like she could flee from the memory and leave it behind her legs tried pushing her away.
A foot slipped causing her to loose her balance and the tile from underneath her slid out causing her whole body to begin to fall.
Fear enveloped her mind as she sat there frozen, tumbling over herself, as the edge of the roof came closer and closer.
Her fingers tried reaching out to grab at anything to slow her descent but there was nothing.
'oof'
Hands wrapped around her waist bringing her to an abrupt hault and causing the air from her lungs to leave in a gust of wind.
Feet hitting the ground jostled her once more but this time it was gentler. The arms that had encased her safely in their warm embrace sat her down on her bare feet.
She buried her feet into the grass liking how it felt against her toes.
"Careful starshine," the voice said no real emotion betraying how he felt.
"Ah, another mask-san," Sakura said glancing up at the familiar sunshine swirled mask.
"I never got to introduce myself," the man said as he bent slightly at the waist to see her face better in the shadows. "My name is Sai."
("I like everyone," Sai said to Sakura. "Even you ugly." That fake smile was plastered on his face, while Sakura's face grew red and angry.)
"Cha!" Sakura yelled out angrily as the memory washed over her mind as she struck out to hit him.
The taller man easily dodged it as he pulled off the mask that adorned his face. That irritating fake smile was pulling at the edges of his lips.
"So it seems you remembered something about me."
"How are you here?" Sakura asked looking confused as she calmed her angry self. "What's going on."
"Come sit," Sai said as he settled himself down on the ground motioning for her to join him.
She sat down and looked at him expectedly.
"I hope you remember something by now but if you haven't figured it out we are both from the future," he said staring down at her to make sure she was following.
"I do remember pieces of it."
"Hokage-sama made a seal for you to be sent back in time in case things went south. She wanted to have a back-up plan in case that everything went wrong."
"It seemed she expected right," Sakura mumbled causing Sai to shoot her a 'shut up' look.
"The seal was designed for you specifically. I was shown how to draw and activate it in case you weren't able to do it yourself. It was designed to repell enemies if you were to activate it around someone bad, so they didn't get dragged in with you. You weren't suppose to go this far."
"What happened?" She asked.
"Hokage-sama informed me that if I used too much Chakra the farther in the past you would go. I only needed to use a small amount to send you back to your Genin days, so you could change Sasuke mind or if you couldn't then Naruto's mind. I didn't account for the Chakra leaking through your strength of a hundred seal and with the extra Chakra you were sent farther back."
"Doesn't explain why your here if the seal was only supposed to bring me back."
"I'm not an enemy and the seal responded to how much Chakra you put into it. A small amount would take you back a couple years and was only enough for one person. Again your Chakra was leaking a vast amount into it, it must have been enough to drag me in too."
Sakura stared at him as she tried to comprehend everything he said. Her eyes roamed over his form.
"You're an adult," she deadpanned with a frown on her face.
Sai glanced down at himself his lips tugged down into a frown but didn't actually complete the action.
"Ah, I forgot." He stood back up and quickly went through hand signs before his tall form began to shrink until he was just a little taller than she was.
He looked like a mini version of his older self, just more emotion seemed to fill his eyes than before.
"You know how to use Chakra!" Sakura exclaimed loudly only to have Sai slapped his hand over her mouth.
"Yes, but you must be quiet." His eyes seemed to glare at her. "I have to stay in a henge around you so no one knows its me. I'm not allowed to meet up with you or anyone. I'm not supposed to leave my... home."
The word home seemed to burn his mouth but he stayed silent as he resumed the henge from before. The mask slid back over his face.
"I see," Sakura said with a frown as she stared up at him. "Will you teach me Chakra?"
Sai hesitated, he really wasn't allowed to leave often, it was hard to sneak out. He also knew that if they were to change the future she needed to be even better than she once was.
She had been spectacular once upon a time, but if she had the knowledge and the know how that she had then she could be even better.
Their crap future wouldn't stand a chance.
"I'll teach you but you must not let anyone know what you can do," he said. "You'll gain the wrong kind of attention and I'm trying to avoid that. No one must know until you've already become a genin. We've got to change things for the better from behind the scenes for now, got it."
Sakura frowned a little. Lying wasn't something she felt she was good at.
No four-year-old was really that good at lying.
"I'll do my best."
He seemed to be content with that answer because he had her sit still and close her eyes.
"Call forth your Chakra, before you can use it you've got to become familiar with it, and know that it's there."
She spent the next hour searching for the Chakra he spoke of. It was such a tiny flame at first that every time she tried to access it, it would flicker out.
After every imaginable way she could think of she finally felt it roar to life within her stomach.
She manipulated it, making it course throughout her body. Sending it down to her toes and up to her fingers.
Her eyes shot open in excitement.
"I did it!"
"Good, now until I can make my way to see you again, I want you to research all you can about Chakra and how to use it. Also learn how to use Chakra to climb a tree."
He pushed himself to his feet before walking over to the biggest tree in the girl's yard. Placing a foot onto the bark he stepped forward and placed his other foot before slowly walking up to the first branch.
From there he dropped off landing back next to her on the ground.
"Just apply the perfect amount of Chakra to your feet and then walk up. Apply to much and you'll dent the tree, not stick, apply to little, and you'll just fall off."
Sakura nodded determinedly. The morning sun was just barely shining through the horizon and she knew she had another hour before her parents would wake up.
"Goodbye, Starshine," Said said giving her a hidden fake smile but he reached out and tousled her hair before disappearing.
Sakura closed her eyes searching for the Chakra she could feel inside of herself. It felt warm and welcooming and she pushed it to her feet.
Taking a hesitant step forward she rested her first foot onto the tree. Then the next, moving one foot after another.
Before she knew it she had made it to the top branch and excitement filled her at the idea that she had done it. On her first time as well!
Climbing down she let out a yawn as she fell back against the grass and stared up at the sky.
She had been up most of the night, having only gotten two hours before sneaking out to the roof.
The bags under her eyes felt heavier than usual.
The grass felt softer than normal, comforting as she laid on her back staring up into the light blue sky.
Slowly her eyes closed only for her to blink them open. The battle wasn't long, sleep ended up taking over.
Mebuki walked outside looking for Sakura as she wasn't in her room. Laying in the grass under the tree in their yard was pink hair splayed across green.
"Oh, Sakura," Mebuki said as she walked closer and scooped her daughter up into her arms and began walking back toward the house.
"What was she doing outside?" Kizashi asked with a frown as he saw his wife and daughter.
"I don't know, I'm going to put her into her bed." Kizashi patted his wife's shoulder as she passed and went to go make a cup of coffee to start the day.
("I'll find him Sakura, I'll bring Sasuke back," Naruto said tears leaking from his eyes as he stared at the girl. Sakura began to move around the hospital room tiding things as she went, the room was already spotless.
Her eyes darted around him never landing on his form, she couldn't look.
"It's okay Naruto," she said her voice sounding hallow to her own ears as she tried to lift it with happiness. "I know you will."
Hands reached out to desperately grab at her own, wrenching her to a complete stop.
Green eyes still bounced around not able to settle on his face, to see the sadness in those blue eyes. Carefully Naruto let her wrist go bringing his hands up to cup her cheek.
Gently he guided her face to stare into his own. Sakura froze, her breathing had stopped as she tried to shove down her own tears.
"I give you the promise of a lifetime," Naruto said a forced smile lighting up his face while his eyes screamed 'forgive me'.
She couldn't bare to look at it, couldn't take that he blamed himself. Couldn't bare to think that deep down, she blamed him too.
Guilt wracked her mind and she forced her face out of his hands, her body moving on it's own accord to clean the room once more.
"It's ok, Naruto," her voice shook as she turned around and began to walk toward the door. "It's ok."
She wasn't sure if either of them believed her.)
Sakura woke up gasping in her bed. Her eyes darted to the clock and realized she had been asleep longer than she normally allowed herself too.
No wonder she had a memory longer than she normally did. It bothered her deep down to her core.
That had been Naruto, she had felt everything her older self at felt.
Naruto didn't deserve that, her older self knew that too, but feelings had gotten in the way. She had gotten in the way, obsessed with an idea that would never be.
Peeling back the covers she walked over to her wardrobe where her mother had laid out an outfit for the day. It was a green with a lighter mint like green flowers on it. Changing she then pulled her hair back with a green ribbon.
"Sakura!" Mebuki called out. "If your not up you need too! Someone is here to see you!"
Sakura froze in her actions of smoothing out the wrinkles and spun around confusion covering her face.
Padding barefoot down the hallway she took the stairs two at a time and came skidding into the dining room where her mother was sitting with someone else.
The pinkette froze recognizing the hair, and the symbol on the back of his shirt, it was hard not too.
"Shisui," Sakura said not able to keep it from escaping. She had wanted to just run away.
There was only one reason he would have come here, she had been acting strange. Terrible towards the person named Itachi on two occasions now.
They both would be trying to get answers and she didn't have any they could understand.
"Yo, blossom," Shisui said with a smile.
"You're breakfast is right here," Mebuki said patting the seat next to her. Shisui would sitting across from them.
Sakura darted to the seat as she kept her eyes from looking at Shisui, she hoped he didn't ask anything in front of her mother.
Her mother wouldn't understand even less than Shisui, at least he was a ninja, maybe there was something that could explain it.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to go through any of the ways they would prove that she wasn't lying.
"I didn't know you made a new friend, Sakura," Mebuki said smiling at Shisui. "And a Shinobi at that."
"You're daughter came to me asking for help to learn Chakra," Shisui said with a smile causing Sakura to freeze. Her eyes widened but kept moving the fork full of egg to her mouth.
She was trying not to show her mother anything. She had to keep her memories to herself, no one else could know she was from the future.
Sai didn't need to tell her to keep that to herself, she had enough knowledge from her future self to know that bad people would want what she knew.
Because everything didn't come to her at once she would be held captive and forced to tell anything she remembered.
A shiver ran up her spine at the thought.
"Oh she did," Mebuki said turning to look at her daughter. "She's never voiced her wish to become a Shinobi."
A hint of fear could be heard in her voice. Neither of her parents were Shinobi the life held fear to them knowing it wasn't a safe career choice.
"She mastered walking up a tree," Shisui said his onyx eyes staring at Sakura causing her to freeze again.
'How did he know that.'
"She's got a true knack for it," Shisui said.
"Are you thinking of becoming a Shinobi Sakura?" Mebuki asked her gaze back on her daughter, her voice wavering slightly.
Sakura stared up at her mother then back to Shisiu. He had seen her last night.
"H-hai, I thought of it okaa-san," she said the truth. With what she knew of the future, how could she not follow in her future selfs shoes, and she could change it for the better.
"Well, darling, I-," her mother hesitated.
"No one is trying to recruit her today, Haruno-san," Shisui said trying to put her at ease. "It's just for a four-year-old that's good chakra control. I'd like to have permission to keep training her."
In truth he wanted to teach her how to keep that stuff to herself but to stil teach her how to get better in case someone did find out.
"I-I let me talk to her father," Mebuki said with a frown. "We've never spoken about our wishes for her future."
"Of course, Haruno-san," he said noticing how shooken up she looked. "Until then can Sakura-chan come play with my cousin and I?"
"Oh, yes of course, Uchiha-san," she said with a small smile as she pushed Sakura's hot chocolate closer to her.
Sakura had stiffened at the idea of going with Shisui, especially when he mentioned his cousin, but he had made it where if she refused her mother would be suspicious.
She would have to give out her own secrets if she did that.
Gripping the mug tightly in her hands she sipped at the drink hoping that the chocolate goodness covered in goodness covered in whipped topping and cinnamon would wash away her nerves.
Slowly she ate taking her time with each bite and sip that she took.
When the time came she sighed and pushed back her plate before standing to her feet.
"I guess I'm ready to go then," Sakura said with a frown on her face.
"Maa, don't sound like I'm taking you to your death," Shisui said with a smile. "We're just going to meet up with Itachi-kun."
Sakura leaned over to give her okaa-san a kiss on the cheek before following him from the kitchen.
"It's as good as you are, ne," Sakura said with bitter amusement as they left the house. She wasn't sure what she would tell them, not any old lie would do.
She had remembered enough about Uchiha's to know that they would see through most deception.
The truth was not an option.
She needed to hold it close to her heart.
Shisui and Itachi would be relentless however, she had piqued their interest, and worry.
For the time being she relented and followed him away from her house and toward a destination she was unsure of.
They had only walked a block from her home when another figure dropped to walk next to Shisui, a smaller one, and she had to refrain from flinching upon seeing him.
"Sakura-san," Itachi said in greeting as she refused to meet his eyes.
"Uchiha-san," she returned as her green eyes stared at the pebbled road they walked on.
Shisui and Itachi shared a glanced but neither spoke preferring to wait until they got to their destination before asking questions.
Sakura was truely worried about how she would get out of this. Questions were dangerous.
She hoped one day she could look into those onyx/red eyes and not freak out. It's what had gotten her into this mess to begin with.
"Saki-chan!" a voice behind her yelled that had her heart soaring with happiness and relief.
Perhaps she had found her way out of this after all.
"Kami," she whispered to herself before spinning around and meeting the blonde blur that threw himself at her.
"What are you doing?" Naruto asked as she hugged his tightly back.
"Eto," Sakura said glancing back at the two Uchiha who had stopped upon sensing that she was no longer following. "I'm about to go train with Shisui-san and Itachi-san."
"That's so cool!" Naruto crowed as he hopped up and down. "Can I come too?"
"Hai!" Sakura said reaching out for what would be her salvation. "Please, join us." She then turned to the two Uchiha with a sly smirk on her face. "Ano, you wouldn't be upset if he did would you?"
"I guess that would be fine," Shisui said his lips turning into a hard line as his plan to get answers would have to be put on hold.
Shisui led the three of them to a deserted training grounds, one that Sakura didn't recognize from any of her memories that shown itself.
"Naruto-kun," Shisui said gaining his attention. "Have you ever used Chakra before?"
The young boy shook his head as he scampered away from Sakura's side to stand in front of the older boy.
"Iie," Naruto said in confirmation his eyes sparkling at the idea of being taught.
"You'll need to meditate and come into contact with your Chakra, it's best if you familiarize yourself with it before trying to mold in into doing what you want. Go ahead, try."
Shisui showed him how to sit but after a few moments Naruto was beginning to fidget and ask questions once more.
"You must sit still and stay quiet," Shisui said as he lightly whacked the figditing boy on the head. Naruto grumbled but did as he was told before Shisui walked over to where Sakura was standing trying, and succeeding, at avoiding Itachi's gaze.
His eyes narrowed at her. Her strange actions needed to be answered for.
He would kill his cousin if he found out he had hurt her, but that just wasn't Itachi.
Something was up with the pink haired girl.
"I saw you walk up that tree last night," Shisui said with a raised eyebrow. "I was on my way home and happened to spot you. How many times did it take you?"
With his eyes baring into her she knew it was useless to lie. She wasn't good at it anyway, she was only good at taking opportunities when they presented themselves to her to gain her own needs. Like Naruto showing up and preventing them of asking their questions.
"On the first try," she said quietly. "I meditated and when I felt like I had a good grasp over my Chakra I tried it."
"I wouldn't mention that to anyone else other than us," Itachi said having come up to stand behind her.
Sakura froze but refrained from flinching or showing any discomfort.
It would only encourage their interest and she was already trying to get them to leave well enough alone.
"Why can't I mention it?" Sakura said cocking her head to the side.
"You'll gain unwanted attention," Shisui said.
"People might think your a prodigy in the making and try to use your gifts," Itachi added.
"That would make me a Shinobi though," she said with a smile. "I would like to become one."
"You've got time for that kid," Shisui said patting the top of her head. "You don't need to rush yourself, there's time for that later."
Still a little confused she only nodded. Sakura wanted to become a Shinobi as soon as possible so that she could change that future she saw.
Unfortunately that future held a big part of Sasuke in it, she would need to change him, and she knew how to do that. If only she could get pass the initial fear that coursed through her veins at the sight of him and his brother.
Those red eyes, they scared her. Sasuke scared her.
Every time she saw him she could feel his hand breaking through her chest, feeling the way it ripped her apart, the pain that engulfed her, the fear, and the acceptance.
"You alright kid?" Shisui said causing Sakura to snap out of it and glare at him.
"It's not kid, Shisui-san," Sakura said mocking causing the older boy to flinch.
"Eto, blossom," Shisui said quickly changing his words before she could get angry. "It's Shisui-kun."
Sakura didn't like blossom any better but it was preferred over kid. Pulling out a scroll he tossed it her way.
"Why don't you read over this," Shisui said with a eye smile. "It's the basics of different things Shinobi can specialize in. See if something piques your interest."
Sakura dutifully nodded, her eyes sliding over Itachi as she wondered how much longer their curiosity would hold out. Naruto wouldn't be here forever, and she was sure eventually they would grow tired of her dodging.
She had to get enough time to figure out what she would say.
Turning her attention to the scroll she opened it and began to read. There were lots of things inside that interested her, the weapons, the jutsu's, but one captured her attention, revealing a memory with it.
(Tsunade stood behind her as she leaned over a table, her hands hovering over a scroll with a fish on it.
"Remember to concentrate your Chakra where it's needed, bring it back to life."
It had taken her several times before the fish began to jump to life. She had brought it back. She did it!)
Her eyes widened at the realization that she had been good at Medical Ninjutsu. She had been a Med-nin.
The thought of healing people brought happiness to her young mind. She wouldn't mind doing that again in this lifetime.
"Something capture your interest?" Itachi asked going to kneel in front of her.
Sakura tried her best to act normal, she truly needed to get pass whatever she felt near him. Whatever Sasuke and Itachi were to do in the future hadn't happened yet, and if she could help it, those events never would.
She had glimpses of a time when Sasuke had been a teammate, someone who had cared for Naruto and herself in his own way.
Taking a deep breath she glanced up at his face. Her determination stiffled the feeling of fear well enough.
"I want to become a med-nin, and get stronger," Sakura said her eyes blazing with the will of fire. "I want to become better than Tsunade-sama."
The Sanin name had been in the book, she had also remembered her from her memories of training the then older girl.
Itachi raised his eyebrows at her words.
"That's a pretty big ambition," he said as he smiled down at her. He noticed how she refrained from flinching and stared at him. He could still see the fear in her eyes, that hadn't gone away.
"It's mine."
"Why do you want to do that?" His curiouity at getting something out of the girl pushed at his words.
"I have precious people to protect and events to change," she had said in almost a daze. She hadn't meant to give out that last part but there was nothing to do to change that look that had filled his eyes.
"Sakura-chan!" Naruto yelped in happiness as he tackled her to the ground. "I did it! Shisui-kun helped me access my Chakra!"
Itachi continued to stare into those green eyes that seemed to have too much knowledge for a kid her age. For a civilian.
Sakura knew she had messed up, there was even more damage to clean up now but she allowed herself to hug Naruto back and stare at Itachi from over the blonde boy's shoulder.
"That's great, Naru-kun!" she exclaimed happily her arms hugging him tighter than what was natural.
Shisui from his spot where Naruto had been meditating wondered what had been said to make Itachi look like that. Something big had been revealed.
Naruto dis tangled himself from the pink-haired girl and ran back over to where Shisui was, the older boy wasn't able to walk the few feat and find out what was going on, Naruto needed his help.
"What could you possibly mean by events, Sakura-chan," Itachi said with an eye smile.
"Itachi-sensei, shouldn't we get back to teaching me how to become a great Shinobi," Sakura said her gaze leveling with his own. "I have lot's of work to be done, ne."
Something had shifted in the girl. He had watched as her focus shifted after her slip of the tongue.
Her last words seemed to be a double edged sword. There was something more that went unsaid.
"Who better to be taught by than the prodigies of the Uchiha clan," her words sliced out at him, there were double meanings dripping in her words now.
"Maa, what could you mean by that?" Itachi said as he stepped forward to ruffle her pastel hair.
Sakura wasn't done though, she had things to change, things to start putting into place. To do all of that she had to get stronger. Her future and past self began to conflict and collide, it was always hard to act like a child when an older mature self was pushing to be free.
Where future knowledge couldn't be said but still somehow came out.
"Come on, Itachi-sensei, teach me!" Sakura darted forward and grabbed at his hand tugging him forward, refusing to flinch like her body was telling her to do. To get out of there and leave.
His eyes frowned at the sensei added to his name but he allowed the girl to tug him forward before he led her over to a body of water.
He'd just have to find joy in watching her fall through the water time after time as he thought up a plan to find out what she had meant with everything she said today.
Sakura walked forward her eyes darting over to where Shisui had Naruto trying to climb the tree. He was at a bad start so far, but she could see the determination and knew he would make it.
(Naruto had stayed over night once more trying to master walking up the tree. Sakura had begun to feel concern for the other boy and snuck him dinner out to where he was practicing in the tree's.
Leaving it where he would find it she stopped and watched as he fell from half way up.
As soon as his foot hit the mossy ground he was already darting toward the tree once more.
She admired his determination and walked away with a feeling of pride as she headed back to Tazuna's home.)
He could do it, and with Shisui's help she knew he would do it quicker than his future self did.
Paying attention to the water once more she applied the Chakra to her feet and stepped out onto the water.
Several steps in she was feeling pretty prideful at the fact that she was doing it, until Itachi threw a heavy rock into the water and made small waves.
Her control had slipped with the changing of the surface and her body tumbled into the water below.
Soaking wet and cold she pulled herself from the stream and glared at where Itachi was sitting.
Stiffening her shoulder she once more stepped out onto the water and stared down at the water. This time when Itachi caused the rippling effect she was able to change the amount of Chakra needed on her feet and stayed on top.
Pride and happiness flooded through her as she beamed over at Itachi.
He, however, had to hold back a frown. She had mastered walking up a tree on her first try, and walking on water on the second. The girl was showing excellent Chakra control.
If she continued to move at this speed she would begin to gain control. That paired with her words left him feeling worried. There was something different about Haruno Sakura.
For her safety she had better get into the habit of lying or there would be others who didn't have good intentions like Itachi and Shisui who would be coming after her.
Sakura could see the look on his face and knew what was coming up. She was really terrible at staying in the shadows.
I hope you guys enjoy it and please review! I had a bit of trouble getting this to copy onto here right so if you see a passage that repeats itself I apologize please tell me! I think I got it fixed though.
Also OMG writing that flashback of when Naruto was in the hospital I was like Sakura! How could you be that way! But you know character development and all that!
Question:
Who is your favorite Naruto Character?
I can never just choose one, I have so many for different reasons but I guess if I had to choose, it would be Kakashi, as he was my first favorite when I began to watch.
