Yikes its been years, I'm horrible at updating all of this honestly. I've been too busy watching Inuyasha, Yu Yu and Naruto aside from writing it. I also dabble too much in reading fanfiction which has honestly brought back some of my muse for writing anyway :)

Disclaimer: I don't own anything except for the computer I'm writing this on, as you all know.

Here's the next chapter folks! Enjoy! :)

Kagome couldn't believe what had happened the night before. Well, she could, but it was very apparent that the demon could have easily killed her. Instead, he toyed with her and called her treasure. The miko shook off the weird feeling and rolled out of bed, it was going to be another long day.

The young woman sauntered into the kitchen, greeting her mother with a warm smile. "Did Souta already take off?" she asked when she didn't see him on the couch with his controller in his lap, "hm? Yes, said something about going to Sai's to play video games and eat pizza," her mother responded from the stove. Kagome hummed with a nod of her head, snatching up a piece of toast before grabbing her bag, "alright then, I'm off to grandma's," she said, walking out of the door and ignoring her grandfather's griping about a 'crazy old coot'.

"A miko, huh? Those are highly rare – and she's trained?' Genkai asked with a curious look on her features and a hum of thought, her dark eyes darted to the clock for the 6th time that afternoon before glancing back at her apprentice and his team. Kurama studied the old psychic, "are you expecting someone, Genkai-sama?" he asked and she nodded, "my granddaughter, I don't get to see her very often since the divorce from my insane ex-husband and she is very busy…travelling."

Yusuke's eyes widened, "you were married and have a grandchild?! Is she hot?" he sputtered, that last question earning him a swift whack on the head by Genkai. "Yes, dimwit. And don't ask about my granddaughter like that, she's out of your league and you're taken by Keiko," the old woman grumbled as the detective rubbed his head with a frown. Things were strained with Keiko, but neither of them really let that be public knowledge.

Kagome huffed as she finally made it to the steps leading to her grandmother's compound, grumbling something under her breath about shrines and their infinite amounts of stairs. The hairs stood on the back of her neck and she whirled around to meet red eyes and gravity defying black hair, "hybrid," she greeted the apparition who just stared at her with a blank look on his face, "you're the old woman's granddaughter, hn," he mused idly. Apparently he knew Genkai. "I'd ask how you know her, but I have a feeling I already know the answer, have a good day," she hummed out before making her way up the stairs.

She reached the top easily and smiled when she saw the old woman step out to greet her. "Damn child I sensed your aura the moment you stepped into the forest," and Kagome grinned, ignoring the surprised looks from Yusuke and Kuwabara. "It's so nice to see you grams," the miko responded with a tone of fondness in her voice. "Well Kagome, it sure is a small world," Yusuke commented with a grin to which Genkai chuckled, "good I don't have to make introductions since you've already met my dimwitted apprentice and his team," she commented with a chuckle. Kagome shook her head, "their boss sent them to my shrine because their sensors picked up on my energy when I came home," which made the older woman growl. "That brat needs to stay away from that shrine and my granddaughter," she warned the detective who was in complete agreement. "Come on inside and I'll make some tea, we'll catch up," the woman then turned on her heel and walked inside with the others following her in. Kagome sent a small smile Kurama's way and he tilted his head in agreement.

In about 10 minutes they were all seated in Genkai's living room with steaming cups of tea as Kagome and the old woman conversed. "So your quest is almost over, then," she asked after getting the full update from the young girl. The miko nodded, "yes, I'm sure Naraku has the rest of the shards, I'm supposed to meet with Lord Sesshomaru about him helping with the fight when I go back. I, somehow, earned his respect and he acknowledges me more than he does his half-brother," she said as she sipped at her tea.

'The old do wants her as a mate, but she doesn't know that yet,' Yoko spoke which made Kurama's brow raise in surprise, "but I thought he hated humans," the avatar responded, 'Kagome is special, powerful, loyal, kind and beautiful…she's truly a treasure and the inu knows that…or at least he will once he and I start helping with her training…anyone with eyes can see how special she is,' Yoko grumbled about the dog demon but it was clear that he admired and respected him. 'He and I both agreed that Inuyasha was beyond foolish for choosing Kikyo over Kagome…something dead an unnatural compared to the vibrant life and warmth Kagome provides.' Yoko wrinkled his nose with a disgusted huff before shutting up.

"Sesshomaru Taisho, yeah, he's still around…Taisho Corp in Tokyo is his building," Genkai said which seemed to have excited the miko a small bit. Kurama had missed the entire conversation leading up to that, apparently. "I wonder if he'll remember me, honestly," Kagome frowned, making a mental note to stop by that building just to see if she could catch a glimpse of him. "Well it's beyond time for me to get back, I'll come visit again soon, grams," Kagome said. Genkai nodded with a slight frown before getting up and walking the miko to the door. The miko turned and waved goodbye to them all before leaving and making her way down the shrine steps.

Genkai moved back into the living room and stared at both Yusuke and Kurama, "what does the demigod want with Kagome?" she asked, irritation clear in her voice. "I wouldn't know what to tell you, he just sent us to her shrine to investigate, he didn't say much else aside from that." The detective answered honestly, "I'm still in shock that she's your granddaughter, why did you never tell us about her?" he asked and Genkai shrugged, "I didn't think it was any of your business to know," she answered simply which made the young male growl.

'Fox!' Kurama's head snapped up when he heard Hiei, 'SDF just came and took the miko,' this news caused the avatar to jump up from his seat. Yusuke's brow raised in a silent question, "what's up?" the detective asked. Kurama's eyes were flashing between green and gold as he growled, "SDF just took Kagome, Koenma has her now," he said simply. "Mother Fucker!" the detective and Genkai hissed out at the same time.

There we go. Long awaited chapter four! Chapter five is almost done!
