Chapter 2: Something Is Definitely Odd
***** Sakura's Pov *****
Beep Beep Beep
I groaned as that annoying sound that had woke me from my peaceful slumber. I rolled over and curled up deeper under the blankets, letting out a contempt sigh as I fell back to sleep. In my mind I was dancing around a meadow filled with so many different flowers, blues, purples, pinks, yellows, oranges, reds, and even some green flowers. I'm not too sure if there are any flowers out there that actually have green petals but in my mind that didn't matter. They were gorgeous and I was in heaven. Away from anything that would bring me stress or harm. Peaceful and Perfect.
Beep Beep Beep
My face twisted in annoyance at the sound again breaking through my dream and making it disappear. I rolled over and reached my hand out, smacking whatever was making that annoying sound. I heard a small crash and opened my eyes to see an alarm clock laying on the floor next to the wall in pieces. I frowned. How the hell did an alarm clock get in my room? It sure as hell wasn't there yesterday. I huffed and drug myself out of bed. I grabbed some clothes and went into my bathroom to get ready. About ten minutes later I was heading down the stairs toward the kitchen. Grabbing some yogurt I went and joined my mother in the living room.
"Mom, how did an alarm clock get in my room?" I asked taking a bite of my yogurt. My mom sighed, putting the paper down and crossing her arm.
"I got tired of waking you up in the morning so yesterday at the store I bought an alarm clock for you." She said picking up her morning coffee and taking a sip. I eyed my mother in annoyance. She was always doing stuff like this, disrupting the flow of things and throwing me off. I wasn't really one to fight change but I didn't necessarily like it when it came to small things like an alarm clock. Those annoying things were evil.
"Well then, you are going to have to get another one…. Maybe one that is more durable." I said with a huff. My mother's eyebrow twitched and she glared daggers at me, her green eyes piercing holes in the side of my head as I ate my yogurt. My mother was the only parent in my life that I have ever really known. My father had left when I was young and I don't really remember him. My mom always told me that he was a good man but that was hard to believe considering the fact he wasn't here helping mom raise me. My mother always told me I got my eyes from my father but I'm not so sure. I had bright green eyes while my mother's where a jade color. I assumed my pink hair came from my father since my mother's hair was red, although my mother has said that my father is a blonde.
"Sakura! That was not cheap! You can't just go around breaking everything I buy!" My mother fumed as I merely shrugged in response. As long as I didn't have to deal with an alarm clock, that was fine with me. I stood once I had finished my yogurt and headed into the kitchen to throw it way. My yes landed on the clock and I groaned. I was late. Damn.
"Mom.. We kinda have to go now." I yelled from the kitchen before heading out to the mud room to put on my shoes.
"Why? We still have an hour." My mom yelled back.
"No. We have five minutes before school starts." I said heading into the living room and crossing my arms. Mom frowned and glanced up at the clock. She froze.
"Shit! Sakura get in the car! "My mom yelled as she rushed to get her shoes and her sweater on. I did as told and got in the car, buckling up. My mom punched the gas petal as she threw the car in reverse and soon we were flying down the street toward my school. I held on for dear life.
+++++ At the School ++++++
I quickly got out of the car and barely had time to close the door as my mother sped away. I watched after her for a bit before taking a deep breath. I was alive! That might have been the scariest car ride of my life.
I headed into the school building, making my way to my locker, grabbing my stuff and maneuvering through the crowd of students toward my first hour English classroom. Making my way in I spotted Sasuke and took my usual seat next to him. I set my book on my desk and buried my face in my arms. I heard a deep throaty chuckle next to me and grumbled in annoyance.
"Someone looks a little tired." Sasuke said glancing toward me. I pulled my head up a little and glared at him.
"No not tired. Just glad to be alive." I grunted. He raised his eyebrow in curiosity and amusement and I continued. "Mom bought an alarm clock for me and set it for the wrong time so I woke up late. Had about five minutes before class started."
"Well you made it." Sasuke chuckled a little. I nodded.
"Yeah and I'm surprised I made it alive. Scariest ride of my life. Did you know it takes fifteen minutes to get from school to my house going the forty five mile an hour speed limit?" I huffed as Sasuke laughed at me and shook his head. Our conversation ended as people came pouring into the classroom and the bell rang. Everyone took their seats as Kurenai-sensei walked in, her arms full of books and paperwork. She set her books down and organized them before taking attendance.
"As you already know. Today we are getting some new students. In this class we will only be getting one student but I am sure you all will see the other's at some point. I will also be assigning projects due next week. You may come in now please. "Kurenai-sensei said turning and looked at the door. The door slid open and a boy with spikey red hair and jade green eyes walked in and stood in front of the class. My class mates started to whisper to each other looking him over. People mentioned his hair color, the Japanese love tattoo on his forehead, the gruff look on his face, and the eyeliner he wore around his eyes. Some people didn't take a liking to his appearance while other people, like me for instance, could see that he was actually quite attractive under all of it.
Our eyes caught each other and I looked at him curiously. The image of the wolves flashed back in my mind. A sandy furred she wolf with dark green blue eyes, a brown male wolf with purple designs dancing across his body and black eyes, last but not least a second male wolf with red and white fur and jade green eyes. I looked at him curiously before turning to Sasuke and grinning.
"He reminds me of you. All gruff and angry looking." Sasuke shot a glare at me and I couldn't help but giggle, earning glares from his fan girls.
"Would you please introduce yourself, young man, and maybe tell us a little about yourself." Kurenai-sensei said shooting everyone a glare to silence them, turning her gaze on the new student. The boy grunted and closed his eyes.
"My name is Gaara. As for information on myself, that is no of your business." He mutter, his deep silky voice sending shivers down my back. Everyone blinked at his statement but no one pushed. Kurenai-sensei sighed and took a seat.
"Well then. Please take a seat behind Sakura Haruno, my name is Kurenai if you need anything feel free to ask, if you would please stand Sakura." Kurenai-sensei said diverting her gaze to me. I did as told and stood watching as the boy eyed me for a little before walking down the row toward me. I smiled and gave him a soft wave, whispering "nice to meet you" as he walked past and sat down.
***** Gaara's Pov *****
(Gaara's thoughts when talking to his siblings. "Blah Blah Blah ")
(Temari's thoughts when talking to her siblings "Blah Blah blah ")
(Kankuro's thoughts when talking to his siblings "blah blah Blah ")
"Well then. Please take a seat behind Sakura Haruno, my name is Kurenai if you need anything feel free to ask, if you would please stand Sakura." I watched as a very familiar pink haired girl stood and watched me curiously. I looked her up and down as I walked toward her. I remember her quite clearly, a girl with pink and green eyes leaning against a tree, sweat running down her body, blood dripping from two claw wounds on her thigh and arm. She stared at us, shaking in fear as we fought off the vampire, just before he got away, whispering in her ear. My siblings and I had saved her from getting her blood drained from her body and maybe more.
"It's nice to meet you." Her soft voice waking me from my thoughts as I walked past her and took my seat behind her. In the corner of my eye I could see a young man with spikey black hair and dark black or blue eyes watching me carefully.
"Alright then class. Let's get started." The teacher stated before opening her book. I ignored the words coming out of her mouth next and just gazed at the pink haired girl in front of me. I could slightly understand why the vampire wanted her so much. Her natural smell was almost intoxicating, a mix between cherry blossoms and strawberries maybe? I don't know. That doesn't matter. Her blood probably smells just as good to the vampire as her natural scent smells to me. Hopefully the vampire will leave her alone. I huffed and closed my eyes.
"You guys remember that girl we saved a year ago?" I asked my siblings subconsciously.
"Yeah why?" I heard Temari's voice sound in my head. I raised an eyebrow as she sounded slightly annoyed.
"She goes to this school. She is in my first hour class."
"Tch. Great." Kankuro muttered back.
"Did she recognize you, Gaara?" Temari ask sounding slightly concerned.
"I don't think so." I thought glancing up as the teacher started scolding a boy for falling asleep in class. My gaze turned to the pinket in front of me. I sifted through the start of the class looking for any signs that she recognized me.
"You think that's why the vampire is hanging around here? Because that girl is here? He seemed interested in her." Kankuro asked
"It's possible." Temari responded with a little delay. Neither of us saw anything special about the girl. It made no sense why he would be so intent on hunting her. Her smell maybe? But that wasn't a good enough reason. Especially with us poking around. One vampire is no match for three wolves, no matter the age, especially when their leader is in the Sound country. I grumbled. This was way more than it was worth.
***** Sakura's Pov *****
"Alright class. Now about the project I am going to assign. I will be pairing up each of you into twos and you will be required to write an essay and make presentation about a historical play that I give you. I expect equal participation from each person. Please go over everything a make sure all silly mistakes are corrected. On the presentation board I want you to explain to the class what exactly the play is about so we have a better understanding as you read your essay to us." Everyone groaned at the assignment not excited for it one bit.
"But Kurneai-sensei that's so much!" One girl whined while many other's nodded in agreement. Kurenai-sensei snorted.
"Well then I guess you will have to stay home and do homework on the weekend instead of getting shit faced the whole time. Now listen carefully as I read off you, your partner, and the play you will be presenting." Kurenai-sensei turned her gaze to the sheet of paper in front of her and began reading off the names.
"Sasuke and Linzy you will be presenting Midsummer Night's Dream." Sasuke groaned and leaned his head against the table and a squeal sounded from the front of the classroom.
"Sakura and Gaara you will be presenting Romeo and Juliet." I blinked and glanced back at Gaara to find him looking out the window. He sighed and glanced at the teacher in annoyance. I heard a couple people whine about not getting the easy one. I sighed. Romeo and Juliet was anything but easy. I leaned my head into my hand and stared out at the woods, zoning for the rest of the class.
+++++ Lunch +++++
"Haha Sakura-chan guess what!" I looked up from my lunch as Naruto ran up followed by an aggravated Kiba alongside Hinata and Shino. I looked at him curiously as they sat down in front of me.
"What's so funny, Naruto?" I asked curiously. I frowned as he burst out laughed. I turned to Hinata curiously for answers. She blushed.
"Y-You remember t-the d-dare K-Kiba was given d-during the p-party?" I blinked and nodded, a smile spread across my lips and I turned my gaze to Kiba who was glaring daggers at Neji as he walked up with Tenten, Lee, Sasuke, Ino, Shika, and Choji in tow. I giggled.
"Well? Don't leave us hanging." Tenten said sitting down.
"We all wanna know what happened." Ino giggled sitting next to me. I nodded in agreement looking at him curiously. Kiba huffed and crossed his arms.
"You should already know. I got my ass handed to me in front of the whole class. "He snorted looking away. We all laughed.
"Details, Kiba." I stated laughing a little bit more. He shot me a glare but refused to answer.
"When Kiba asked Kurenai-sensei third hour she stared at him like he was an alien before she threw a book at him and screamed at him about his horrible behavior saying he will never get a girlfriend with his attitude and he got four days detention for third hour." Naruto said grinning. Everyone started laughing again. Kiba blushed tomato red and looked away.
"Well if it makes you feel any better Sasuke got pared up with Linzy for the English project." I said laughed. Sasuke sent me a death glare and Kiba grinned.
"Welcome to the world of pain, Uchiha. Welcome." Kiba said grinning. I laughed harder before grabbing a bite of my mashed potatoes.
"I got pared with Shika thankfully." Ino said. I heard Shika groaned.
"Yeah and only one person will be getting the credit." Shikamaru snorted. Ino glared at him.
"No I will help." Shikamaru rolled his eyes.
"Right when pigs fly." Everyone laughed and Ino crossed her arms and looked at me.
"Who is your partner Sakura?" Ino asked. Everyone turned to look at me. I shrugged.
"The new kid we got in class today. His name is Gaara." I said biting down on my beef. Ino and Tenten beamed.
"Really? What is he like?" Ino asked. I shrugged and pointed toward Sasuke.
"Like his twin with Red hair, green eyes, and a good amount of eyeliner." Sasuke shot me a glare and Ino frowned.
"So in other words. An asshole?" Tenten asked curiously. Sasuke glared her and she grinned right back at him.
"I donno about his personality but he has that annoyed look on his face all the time and he is really quite. He sits behind me in class." I said twirling my fork around a little. Ino and Tenten nodded in understanding.
"We got the other two in our third hour class." Kiba said leaning against the table a little and he tried to figure out what on his plate he would actually want to eat. Hinata nodded.
"Y-Yeah I guess t-they are s-siblings. They s-seemed to g-get a k-kick out o-of Kiba a-asking K-Kurenai-sensei out. "Hinata stuttered with a soft giggled. Kiba huffed. I spotted a flash of red and saw Gaara walk in and take a seat next to two people at the far end of the room. I assumed they were his siblings. One, a girl, had long sandy blonde hair pulled back into four spikey pony tails with dark green blue eyes and the other, a boy, had spikey brown hair and black eyes. He wore purple eyeliner on his face and a hat that seemed to have ears on it.
"Temari and Kankuro, I think their names where." Naruto said stabbing his fork into the beef. I nodded and downed my last bit of food before standing.
"Where are you going?" Choji asked looking at me curiously. I smiled at him.
"I'm going to go talk to them. I need to figure out when we are gonna work on the project." Everyone nodded and I headed to the place where we put our dirty trays before making my way to the table where my English partner sat with his siblings. I stopped in front of the table.
"Um Hi. " I said sending a small wave. Kankuro and Gaara looked at me with bored expressions and I found myself feeling nervous.
"Hello. What can we do for you?" The girl, Temari, asked looking at me curiously. I smiled at her.
"Well Gaara is my partner on our English project and I figured I would come over and say Hi." I said fiddling with my hands behind my back. Temari smiled back at me and Gaara turned his attention to his food.
"Well then. Hello. I'm Temari and this is Kankuro. You already know Gaara." Temari said gesturing from Kankuro to Gaara. I nodded and gave a small wave. Kankuro waved a peace sign at me and turned to his food.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Sakura." I turned my gaze to Gaara. Feeling my eyes on him he looked at me curiously.
"So I would like to get this project out of the way as soon as possible. When do you think we could get together and work on it?" I asked curiously. I watched as he thought for a bit.
"I should be free tomorrow after school." He muttered. Shivers ran down my spine as it felt as though his velvety voice wrapped around me. I nodded.
"Ok that should work for me too. My house or your house?" He frowned.
"Your house is fine." He muttered. I nodded and turned to Temari.
"Well it was nice meeting you. I will see you tomorrow Gaara." I said turning and heading out of the lunch room as the bell rang.

( Gaara's thoughts when talking to his siblings. "Blah Blah Blah " )
( Temari's thoughts when talking to her sibings "Blah Blah blah " )
( Kankuro's thoughts when talking to his siblings "blah blah Blah " )
My siblings and I watched curiously as Sakura walked away and headed out of the lunch room, waving to her friends. I sighed and turned back to my food, finishing the last little bit as the bell rang.
"Yeah that's definitely her." Kankuro said taking a sip of his juice box. I snorted.
"You can't miss pink hair." I snapped at him. He glared at me, blushing a little. Temari laughed.
"No, her scent Gaara. I meant her scent." He grumbled at me. I rolled my eyes and stood, put my tray away before heading toward my next class with Kankuro and Temari in tow. Kankuro split off his own way and Temari and I entered out class room. We walked up to the teacher and asked her wear she would like us to sit. She pointed to two empty seats right next to Sakura. Temari and I glanced at each other before heading her way and taking out seats. Sakura looked up at us and smiled.
"Well hello. Long time no see." Sakura giggled a little. I rolled my eyes and looked away. Temari smiled at her.
"Hello, Sakura. Guess we will be seeing each other more often." Sakura nodded in agreement.
"I guess so. Where did you guys move from?" She turned her body toward Temari looking at her curiously.
"We just moved here from Suna a week or so ago. We move around a bit. Dad can't seem to keep us in one place even though he very rarely follows." Temari said taking a look through her book before sighing in annoyance. Because we had been through many different schools with many different education systems we have already been through most of what these guys are learning.
"This is going to be a boring mission Alpha had to give us." I heard Kankuro chime in subconsciously.
"You have said that about all of the missions Alpha has given us Kankuro. Shut it." Temari scolded. I heard Kankuro snort but give no response. He did have a point but we had no option in the matter. What the Alpha says goes.
"Oh…" Sakura said clearly unsure of how to answer. Temari smiled at her and giggled a little. I watched as Sakura relaxed little and smiled back.
"No worries. You get used to it after a while. How long have you been here?" Temari asked turning her full attention to Sakura. Sakura smiled.
"Most of my life actually. I moved her when I was around five years old. My parents split ways and mom decided to come here." Temari frowned.
"Where is your father now?" Temari asked curiously. Sakura shrugged.
"Not sure. Mother hasn't heard from him since. I don't really have any memories of him. "She murmured. I frowned at this.
"That's sad. Our mother died when we were young." Temari said. Sakura frowned.
"That's horrible. I'm sorry." Temari get her a smiled.
"No need to be. Some things cannot be controlled." Sakura nodded in understanding and turned her gaze to the front of the classroom as the teacher, Anko-sensei, cleared her throat. Everyone quieted down and looked at her.
"Alright. Now class I have nothing for you to do so the day is yours. I highly suggest that you work on something school related like the essay I assigned you last week. Keep the noise down and leave me alone." Anko-sensei snapped turning her gaze to the computer screen and typing away at it. Everyone started doing their own thing and I decided to watch out the window as Sakura explained to Temari the assignment Anko had given last week.
"Well that shouldn't be too hard." Temari muttered in annoyance. Sakura nodded.
"Yeah it's a pain and it's pretty long but it's actually easy. Just a lot to it." Temari sighed and turned to me.
"You should probably listen. You have to do this too." I rolled my eyes.
"Hn." I grunted. Temari's eye twitched and she shot me a glare, which I easily returned. Temari huffed before turning and didn't push any father. Sakura watched us curiously before shrugging and returning to her work.
"Hello, Sakura-chan." A boy purred as he walked up and leaned against Sakura's desk, slightly leaning over, taking a look at Sakura's paper.
"It seems as though you are almost done with your project." Sakura snorted in annoyance and covered her paper with her arms. My eyes narrowed as I got a whiff of the guy.
"He is a vampire." I heard Temari snarl subconsciously. The guy smelt of blood and his gold eyes gave him away easy.
"Who? Why the hell is there a vampire here?!" Kankuro chimed in sounded upset.
"Yeah I am almost done because unlike you, Ren, I actually take pride in doing my work and not slacking." Sakura glared at the boy. He laughed and leaned in closer, just inches from her face.
"Some guy named Ren in this class." Temari answered. My gaze moved from Temari to the boy named Ren. He was a gruff looking guy. Someone you wouldn't necessarily want to catch in a bad mood. He had spikey black hair with gold eyes. He was buff, any human would assume he was either a football player or on steroids, and wore a cocky look on his face which seemed like it was plastered there.
"He seems interested in Sakura. Just like the other one." I added watching him carefully. I doubted he would make a move in such a public place. Just like it was forbidden for humans to know about us it was just as much forbidden for a human to know about Vampires.
"Well that's rude, princess. I bet I will get a better grade than you will." He smirked leaning back again, watching Sakura like she was a piece of meat.
"Doubtfully" Sakura snorted looking away. Ren smirked.
"Well let's make a bet. If my grade is better than you have to go on a date with me. If your grade is better I will leave you alone for the rest of the year." Ren said crossing his arms and looking down at her. Sakura frowned at this proposition.
"I won't go on a date with you if you win or not, Ren." She huffed, diverting her gaze out the window. Ren reached his hand out.
"Let's shake on it." He grinned at her. She looked at him and glared, opening her mouth to say something.
"Go away. You're annoying." I snarled angrily. Ren's golden gaze turned on me and his eyes narrowed. I watched as his nose twitched as he seemed to get our scents and finally noticed our presence. His eyes slid to Temari who shot him a toothy grin. His face twisted in annoyance.
"I don't believe I was speaking with you, Gaara, is that correct?" He snorted. I clenched my fists under the table and he seemed to notice that I was ready to fight him at any time.
"Ren. Get back to your seat and work. This is not chatty Kathy time."Anko-sensei snapped looking up from the computer at Ren. Ren glared at us one more time before, he decided it was best not to try and take us on and retreated back to his seat. My gaze turned to Sakura and I watched as every muscle in her body relaxed.
"He always do that?" Temari asked Sakura curiously. Sakura groaned and nodded.
"Yeah he has gotten a little more persistent lately though." She muttered. Temari frowned and glanced at me. The bell rang and Sakura grabbed her stuff and booked it out of the classroom. Temari and I grabbed our things before heading out.
"You think she knows he is a vampire?" Temari's voice sounded in my subconscious. I sighed.
"No I don't think so." I answered. We got to our lockers and began switching out supplies.
"It did however seem as though she felt like he was someone who she shouldn't mess with." Temari stated. I nodded in agreement. The minute the guy had started talking she had tensed up like she wanted to be anywhere else.
"What happened?" Kankuro chimed in. My eyes slid to the crowd of students as they maneuvered around each other to get to their classes. Slowly they parted and Kankuro walked up, shooting us questioning looks.
"Ren was giving Sakura a hard time." Temari answered. Once we all had our things we headed down the hall to the next class which, thankfully, we all had together.
"The vampire here at school?" We both nodded and he sighed.
"Great. Something is definitely odd about this."
++++++ End of the Day ++++++
***** Sakura's Pov *****
I sighed as I finally got out of class. The teacher needed to talk to me about one of my grades. She seemed to be very impressed with how I was doing and wanted to move me to an advanced class. I turned her down because I didn't need the pressure right now. She had understood and let me go. I quickly went to my locker and put all my things away before glancing out the school doors. My mom wasn't here yet. I went to the office and borrowed the phone to call her.
"Hello?" I heard my mom's voice over the receiver.
"Hey mom it's me. I wanted to let you know I am late coming out of class and I will be sitting on the bench waiting for you." I said glancing at the clock.
"Ok sweetheart, I am running a little late as well, so I will be there in just a minute." I after giving an ok I hung up and headed out of the school to take my seat on the bench. I ended up laying down so I could looked up at the sky and watch the clouds. I spotted a rabbit, a dog, a cat, a peace sign, a shield, even a car. I giggled making up stories in my head. I swear I need to become a writer someday.
I froze when I felt a hand cover my mouth and another grip my shoulder. I looked over at the person who touched me and saw blood red eyes and a toothy grin. I was instantly yanked off the bench and dragged into the forest next to the school. I stumbled as I did my best to keep up with the man. I cried out in pain as I was slammed against a tree, a broken branch pressed against my back and I arched against the man trying to avoid the pain. I felt his breath on my neck and I heard him take in a deep breath.
"Oh, princess. Your blood smells so good." He purred running his hand up my thigh toward my rib cage. I whimpered and shivered at his touch, trying to jerk away from him.
"L-Leave m-me a-alone." I tried to bravely snap at him but miserably failed as my words came out a stuttering mess. The man smirked and pressed harder against me making me gasp and snap my eyes shut.
"No can do, Princess." I felt his lips gently skim my neck and I again tried to move away but failed, only causing his grip to tighten on me. I could feel his sharp nails about to pierce my skin. Tears began to pool around my eyes before sliding down my face.
"I'm sure master wouldn't mind if I took a little taste." He murmured opening his mouth. My eyes widened and I started struggling harder as I felt two sharp things press against my neck. The man closed his mouth and snarled pushing me harder against the tree.
"Damn woman. Stop moving." I cried as I tried to fight a losing battle. This man was not human and far stronger than me. It was useless but I didn't want to die. I continued to struggled but stopped when I her a snarl in front of me. The man snarled and tensed up in front of me, glancing behind him. I looked up through my glassy eyes to see a huge red and white wolf standing there, his head low, his lips pulled back showing his fangs, and pure murderous intent in his eyes. But despite all that I couldn't help but think he was the most gorgeous thing in the world. The wolf lunged and the man instantly let go of me and jumped away. My knees gave out and I slid down the tree trunk, falling limp with fear against the ground.
I watched helplessly as the wolf stood between me and the man. They glared at each other for a bit before the wolf lunged. The man's eyes widened as a strong muzzle latched onto his shoulder. He cried out in pain and gripped the wolf's neck, prying him off and sending him flying. The wolf twisted and landed on his feet before lunging again. He swiped his huge paw and slammed the man to the ground. The man howled in pain and swiped his claws at the wolf. The wolf moved his head to the side, dodging the attack before lashing out and biting the man's other shoulder and whipping his head to the side, sending him flying. Within seconds the wolf was on the man once again. He held the flailing man down with one paw before snapping his neck nice and fast. I screamed and pushed myself against the tree in horror. The wolf had killed the man!
The wolf glanced at me before clamping his muzzle down on the man's shoulder and dragging him away into the forest. I whimpered and curled up, hiding my face as tears streamed down my face. Why did this have to happen? Why me? Why did that creepy man that called himself a vampire, a mythical creature, have to come back after a year.
I tensed as I heard leaves rustle. I hesitantly looked up to see the same wolf looking at me cautiously. I just gazed at him, slowly pulling myself together. I watched the wolf guardedly as he took slow steps toward me before he was right in front of me, his head low and his ears perked up, moving in all directions as small animals made sounds. I hesitantly reach up and he tensed, all his attention on me. I continued reaching until I was close to the fur on his neck. He dodge my had a little and turned his head to sniff my hand. I waited patiently and when he turned his head to me and watched me I gently ran my hand through his fur.
"Thank you." I whispered, my voice coming out shaky. He huffed in my face before tensing a bit. A howl cut through the forest and was soon answered by another. The wolf backed up and turned, glancing at me, before taking off into the trees. I started into the forest for a bit before slumping over against the tree. I was exhausted and in pain. I couldn't seem to find anymore tears to cry, even though crying would do me no good. I looked up hearing leaves rustle again, silently hoping it was the wolf again. Instead I saw a figure moving through the trees.
"Who's there?" I called out nervously.
"Sakura? That sounds like you?" I soft voice called back. I frowned and squinted trying to figure out who it was. As they grew closer I could make out that the person was female. I saw four pony tails and I knew it was Temari.
"Temari? I'm over here." I called back. The figure stopped and looked around a bit before altering her path, heading straight toward me. I watched as she pushed through the trees and took a good look at me. Her eyes widened as they ran a cross my body with looked bruised and slightly beaten.
"Sakura! What happened?" She said as she sprinted over to me and kneeled down in front of me.
"I-I don't know. I was s-siting on the b-bench waiting for my mom and this guy just s-snatched me up and dragged me h-here." I said shivering. Temari frowned.
"Where is he now?" She said slipping her arm undermine and helping me stand. I shook my head.
"I don't know. He just took off." I murmured, wincing in pain as I tried to stand. Once I was on my feet the pain slowly subsided and I started breathing a little easier.
"Alright. Let's head back to the school and see if your mother is there waiting." Temari suggested. I nodded and we headed through the trees toward the school. Walking got easier and I was able to walk by myself. We finally broke the woods and where in the front yard of these which was deserted. Absolutely no one was there. I sighed.
"Not here. How far is your house?" Temari asked glancing toward me.
"About a fifteen minute drive, thirty minute walk." I said. Temari nodded and smiled at me.
"I'll walk you then." I smiled and thanked. We then began to head out of the front yard toward my house.
"How did you find me, Temari?" I asked her curiously.
"I was going for a walk to get some fresh air when I heard you scream so I decided to see what was going on. It's a good thing I came when I did." Temari said. I nodded
"Yeah thank you. I probably would have gotten lost." Temari giggled a little.
"That wouldn't be good." I nodded. I guided Temari down the street and took a right turn as we slowly got closer to my house.
"Hey. We actually live pretty close to each other." Temari said.
"Really? " I said glancing her way. She nodded and pointed to a small house across the street.
"That's where my brother's and I live." I smiled.
"That is pretty close to my house. Adorable house by the way" I smiled. Temari laughed and thanked me. Not long later we finally got to my house. I thanked Temari one last time before she then headed back toward her house. I headed to the door but stopped when I heard someone yelling on the other side. I unlocked the door and went in to find my mother on the phone screaming at the person on the other side.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T LOOK FOR HER?!"
"I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK! I KNOW MY DAUGHTER AND SHE WAS NOT THERE. SHE IS NOT THE PERSON TO JUST RUN OFF ON ME!" I flinched as my mother's voice slowly got louder and louder.
"I DON'T NEED TO WAIT FOR 24 TO 48 HOURS TO KNOW SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER!" My mother screamed into the phone. I stepped into the living room and made some noise so she could see me. When she spotted me she paled.
"Oh my gosh, Sakura! You are ok!" She said dropping the phone and running to me, giving me a big hug, which I eagerly returned. She pulled back and looked at me, her eyes filled with worry.
"You were not there when I got there. I was so worried. Where were you?" She asked looking into my eyes searching. I hesitated and glanced at the phone on the floor. You could still hear someone trying to see if my mom was still there. She followed my gaze and went and picked up the phone.
"I am so sorry officer. I apologize for my language. My daughter just walked in the door. I apologize for the call. Nothing is wrong. Thank you for ….. helping." She said. After the person on the other side of the phone answered she hung up and turned to me.
"Sakura, sweetheart, are you ok? You look like you fell down a hill." She said glancing over my body. I hesitated.
"I was waiting for you but someone grabbed me and dragged me into the woods. They took off before I could do anything and a friend from school found me" I murmured looking down. My mother gasped and hugged me tightly.
"Oh honey, you aren't hurt are you." I shook my head.
"Not badly. He held me a little tight so I might have bruises." I said burying my face in my mom's shoulder.
"Was it the same man from a year ago?" My mom hesitantly asked.
"I don't know. I didn't get a good look at him." I murmured. My mother sighed and just held me tight. She pulled back and took one more look at me.
"Go upstairs and take nice warm shower. I have some calls to make. Gotta let your friend's parents know you are ok." I frowned but didn't question. I headed up stairs and stripped out of my clothes, stepping into a nice warm shower, letting the water relax my muscles and clear my mind.
