Lois kept watching the clock. She'd occasionally glance at Clark to try and catch him doing the same thing. She hadn't caught him yet.
She finally glanced at the clock and noticed it was time to go. "We're outta here, Kent."
"Really," he casually said, looking up at her.
She narrowed her eyes and glared at him slightly. "You know perfectly well it's that time."
Perry walked up to them. "Alright you two, I guess you two can leave, but be on time day after tomorrow."
"Of course, Chief" Clark said as he started to shut off his computer.
"And don't try to call us in tomorrow, Chief," Lois said as she shut off her computer.
"If there's a big story, I'm giving it to someone else, Lois," Perry said.
"I am not working tomorrow, no matter what story hits," Lois replied.
Clark gave her a look that suggested he didn't quite believe her. Lois rolled her eyes at the look.
"Even if it's a story about those new powered people?" Perry asked.
"Nope, I am taking the day off."
"I'll believe it when I see it," Cat said as she walked by on the way out.
Clark couldn't help but smile. Lois saw it and shot him a look.
"So what exactly are you two doing tomorrow?" Perry asked as they both stood up.
"Going to take it easy and spend some time together. We've both been busy and don't do that often enough," Clark replied.
"Yeah, Alice mentions we should do more of that," Perry replied. "Don't you two mention I said anything or breathe a word to her about how you're spending your anniversary."
"Of course not, Sir," Clark said trying to suppress a smile.
"Good, now get out of here…enjoy your anniversary."
"That I plan to do," Clark said. He then reached out and took the vase with Lois' flowers. "I'll carry that."
Lois smiled. "Thanks." Lois grabbed her coat and bag, then moved next to Clark. "See you day after tomorrow, Chief."
Perry scowled.
Clark smirked, then looked at Lois. "Ready?"
"Oh yeah."
Together they headed to the elevator and made their way home.
