I have been missing for quite a few years now and I very sorry. I just lost the passion I had for the story. However it always bugged me that I did not finish this. I also had some health issues and personal issues to deal with. However I am back, I am RUSTY so please forgive me if this isn't up to my normal quality. fight scenes are going to be horrible until I find my grove again "they were never great to begin with lol"
I am honestly not even sure how many of my original fans/readers are still around but if you are one of my originals then I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and for any new ones I welcome you to my world. Now more then ever since now NaruSaku will never be cannon :( but they shall live on in my universe! :D

That is everyone, thank you to everyone who bothered to leave a review. I really do appreciate it a lot since it shows me that people are interested in the story and motivates me to come back.
I am not sure what the release schedule is going to be like, I am going to try and make it once a week, maybe even more if i am inspired or something :) who knows
anyway enough rambling, here is chapter 4!
Chapter 4
Hanabi was laying on the operating table as Kabuto was trying his best to save her life, a green glow from his hands could be seen as he swept over the area where the rock spike was still sticking out from her body "Nurse, I am holding everything in place with my chakra, I need you to pull out the spike quickly"
Konohamaru looked around and saw no one else "Are you asking me?"
"Do you see anyone else here? Until this is over your are my nurse!" Kabuto quickly answered
Konohamaru quickly did as he was told. He slowly removed the earth spear from her body, not a single drop of blood spilled out as Kabuto kept everything in place with his chakra. Little by little small pieces of earth were being removed from the wound by his chakra and sweat began to form on his brow Konohamaru quickly grabbed a cloth and wiped it away "Thank you… Can you monitor her pulse for me?"
Konohamaru looked around for a cardiac monitor but couldn't see any "How? I don't see any monitoring systems"
"This isn't a fancy Konoha hospital, we can't afford large cardiac monitors, just grab a small one from that cabinet and strap it around her arm!" he said as he continued to remove the small pieces of earth left behind from the spear, he had to find them all before he could begin fixing her up
Konohamaru quickly ran to the cabinet and grabbed the device, it was much smaller then the ones he had seen in the hospitals of Konoha and it seemed to be battery operated. He quickly strapped the device to her arm and turned it on. After a few seconds of adjusting itself it began to beep indicating it had found her pulse "It says her heart rate and blood pressure are erratic"
"Keep an eye on it and tell me of any changes, I almost found all of the fragments…there is just one more but its hidden deep within her" He tried for ten minutes but was unable to get the fragment extracted
The monitor began to beep even more erratically. Kabuto suddenly dropped his chakra and the green glow disappeared "What are you doing?!" Konohamaru asked shocked as blood began coming out of the wound without anything to keep it in place
Kabuto grabbed a tray with various medical tools "I am going in manually" he answered as he grabbed a tool and dove into the open wound causing more blood to come out
The beeps intensified as minutes felt like hours until suddenly they stopped "He heart stopped!" Konohamaru said feeling helpless as he watched the line stay flat and the constant tone from the device indicating that she had flat lined
But Kabuto did not stop, he finally extracted the shard of earth that had evaded him until now and threw it in the tray as he quickly ran his hands over the wound and began applying his healing chakra once more. He healed the major internal bleeding and quickly sealed the wound as fast as he could without making any mistakes.
Konohamaru looked the room "I don't see any defibrillators" he was worried about how they were going to restart her heart
"I told you that this isn't a fancy hospital, we have out own way of doing things here" he said as he put both of his hands on her chest and concentrated his chakra "get away from the table kid" he quickly told Konohamaru who obeyed without a second though. Kabuto gathered a large amount of chakra and released it all at once like a bolt of energy into her body causing her to body to react, but the monitor did not change. Once again Kabuto applied more energy "Come on kid, don't give up on me now" he said as he released another jolt causing her body to once again jolt with it however the same horrible tone just continued to emanate from the monitor
"Hanabi no…." Konohamaru said as he dropped to his knees with tears streaming down his face
But Kabuto refused to give up, he quickly strapped on a breathing mask with a manual pump "Kid, I need you to get a hold of yourself and continuously press on this every 3 seconds to help keep oxygen to her brain" Konohamaru quickly got back to his feet and did as he was instructed "The longer this goes on the higher the odds of brain damage will occur… I could up the energy but that could cause other complications… But she is young and strong, I don't have any other choice…" He though to himself as he gathered even more chakra for a higher jolt and released it into her body causing it to react violently causing the monitor to go silent as a single beep came from it and then the tone returned
"Almost had it… Come on girl, you can do it" Kabuto though to himself as he gathered more chakra and released it into her body, once again the monitor let out a single beep and stopped "Damn it…. Come on!" he said in frustration "One more time" he charged up his chakra causing the monitor to beep twice but this time he didn't wait for it to stop, he immediately released another jolt of energy causing it to spike until it began beeping regularly, Kabuto fell to his knees feeling exhausted
Konohamaru's eyes lit up "Her heart rate and blood pressure are returning to normal!" He said with excitement
"The worst is behind us, she still has minor injuries I need to take care of but her life should be out of danger for the time being" he said as he forced his body back to its feet to complete the operation
It took another thirty minutes before he would finally declare it a success and he allowed his body to collapse on the nearby chair "Is she going to be alright now?" Konohamaru asked"
"Yeah, all of her wounds are patched up, she may need a blood transfusion but it can wait. For now she is stable and out of danger" he answered him
Suddenly Konohamaru realized that Yuki had not joined them yet "Its been well over half an hour, she should have recovered by now" He made a few hand signs "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" A shadow clone appeared next to him "Stay here and keep an eye on her, I will go check on Yuki" His shadow clone nodded in agreement as he ran out of the hospital
He made his way to where he had left Yuki as quickly as he possibly could. When he arrived he was horrified to not only not find Yuki anywhere but her sword was left laying next to where he last saw her when she was laying up against the wall. He quickly picked it up "She would never leave this behind, this zanpakuto is her partner, she would never just abandon it… YUKI!" He began to scream out hoping he would get a response. But he heard only silence. He ran to the nearest person he could find "Did you see a blond haired green eyed girl about the same age as me?" He asked in desperation
"I am sorry master ninja, I haven't seen anyone of that description" the man answered
Konohamaru began to panic "No…. Yuki Chan I can't lose you…" he began making hand signs once more "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" This time there were now over 100 clones "Search the entire area, turn every rock if you have to! I want her found now!" All of them nodded as they dispersed into multiple directions
After almost an hour of searching every house, every single room and the surrounding area none of them had found anything, not even a trace. "YUKI CHAN!" Konohamaru screamed out realizing that he had lost her. "I never should have left her alone… I did didn't only fail her as a husband… But as team leader. Hanabi almost died and I lost Yuki… All because I lowered my guard"
He suddenly dispelled all of his clones except for the one guarding Hanabi and made his way to the town center. He saw a man writing on a piece of paper, he lifted up his head "Master ninja?"
"I have a message I need to send to Konoha" He said handing him a piece of paper
"Of course master ninja, I was about to send a report about the attack on the village"
Once he was done he ran back to the clinic where Kabuto was performing an examination on Hanabi
"How is she doing?" He asked as he entered the room
"She is doing well, her body is really strong and I won't even need to do a blood transfusion. In two or three days she will be back on her feet but she should still take it easy for a week" he explained
"Kabuto, I want to thank you for what you have done for her… I am sorry for doubting you" He said with a bow of respect
"No, there is no need for that, I completely understand your reaction. I would have the same concerns if I were you. That is why I spent the last 13 years or so trying to atone for what I have done…"
"Is there anywhere safe we could hide her?" He asked
"When you say safe… I assume you mean from any enemy ninja's that may happen to stroll into the village?" Kabuto asked knowing the answer
"Yeah… Konoha will be more then likely be sending reinforcement to the border but I have to find Yuki… Before its too late" Konohamaru explained
"Well I have a secret room that has chakra concealment tags in the event someone came looking for me and I needed a place to hide. We could move her there, I can easily take the equipment required with us as well"
"I will help move her, I will leave the shadow clone behind. Not because I don't trust you, you have proven yourself… But I just cannot leave her behind without any kind of protection"
"I understand, I will go get everything ready"
Meanwhile back in Konoha Naruto entered the council chambers "Ah Lord Hokage" one of the council members said as he approached them
"What is so urgent that my attention is required immediately?" He asked while taking his spot at the table
"My lord, we have received multiple reports from all over the nation, the Wind have launch probing attacks on multiple border villages, none of them were major attacks. We suspect that they are testing our defenses and our response time to the incursions"
"But why… Why would Gaara do this?" Naruto said slamming his first against the table
"We do not have the luxury of time my lord, if we do not respond in kind it will be viewed as a sign of weakness, not only to the Wind but to the other nations who may see us as weak for not protecting ourselves"
"I will not sanction a retaliation attack, dispatch our forces to protect our borders but I will not escalate this to a full scale war, not until we know what the hell is going on" Naruto responded "Recall my team from the field, I am personally going to find out the cause of these attacks by going straight to Gaara"
"But my lord… We cannot risk your safety by allowing you to simply go to Suna without proper protection!"
"That's why I am requesting my team be recalled. I am not going to march into the Wind with a full platoon behind me. That would be viewed as an act of war with how things are currently. No, I will take my team and we will speak directly with Gaara and we re going to figure this entire thing out" Naruto responded
"But what about the attacks on your family? You cannot simply allow that to go unanswered!" another added
Naruto's fist tighten as he responded "Until I find out the true identity of who attacked my family I cannot allow anger to dictate my actions…" Naruto quickly answered "But once I do find out who is responsible… I will Kill them, no one does that to my baby girl… And Sakura" Naruto though to himself
A ninja entered the chambers and bowed "I apologies my lords for interrupting but I have a message from one of our border towns that has just arrived by messenger bird" He said while handing two papers to Naruto
He read the first one "It would appear that another one of our villages has been hit…"
"You see my lord! We cannot afford to wait any longer!"
Naruto then began reading the second message, his eyes widen as his anger only began to boil even more

Team Naruto Report
Name: Sarutobi Konohamaru, team leader
Status: incapacitated
Naruto Nii-San I regret to inform you that I have failed to protect my team… Hanabi has been critically injured however her life is no longer in any danger and she is currently resting. It could be a few days before she is back on her feet. I must also report that I believe that it was an earth shinobi that attacked her, once she regains consciousness I will get a confirmation on this
Yuki is now missing, she fought with a Wind ANBU that paralyzed her with some sort of toxin, I arrived in time to save her however at the time Hanabi's life was hanging by a thread and I had to get her medical care. The toxin was suppose to wear off and since there was no immediate danger she told me to leave her behind, that she would join me as soon as she was able to. However she never did… I searched the area for any clues as to where she may have gone however I was unable to find any trace of her.
I take full responsibility for what happened to Hanabi and Yuki, as team leader I was lax with the years of peace we have enjoyed. I never though we would be attacked so brutally unprovoked…
I have left Hanabi with someone I believe I can trust. I must track down and find Yuki, I know I should wait for backup but I cannot simply stand by knowing that Yuki is in danger. I apologies for my failure
Konohamaru
Naruto crumpled up the paper in anger, even his team had been hit and to make matters worst Yuki was missing "I want Sasuke, Itachi, Sai and Toshiro in my office right away"
"As you wish my lord" The ninja who had brought him the news said as he bowed before leaving the chambers
"What is it my lord?" One of the council members asked curious about what was in the report
"My team needs me" Was all that he said as he got up and left the chambers himself
Meanwhile in one of the restaurants Hiyori, Jun, Hamako and Kanji were celebrating. Hamako had reach the rank of Elite Chunin "Congrats Hamako!" Kanji said with a large grin
"Pff, it was just luck" Jun said with a smirk. He was a bit annoyed that she was now a higher rank then him but he was also proud of her
"Aww thanks guys" She said with a blush
Hiyori also felt sad deep down, she had some bad news that she did not look forward to sharing
"What's wrong Sensei?" Hamako asked with a smile
"Oh its nothing" Hiyori tried to assure her team
"Could it be that you think we forgot what today is?" Kanji said with a huge grin
Suddenly Hamako put a birthday hat on Hiyori's head and Jun signaled for the waitress who brought out a cake saying Happy 20th birthday Hiyori sensei!
Hiyori was shocked "Its my birthday?" She though to herself, with everything on her mind lately she had completely forgotten
"Hell yeah, we got her good, look at the look of surprise on her face!" Kanji said triumphantly
"Happy birthday Sensei" They all said in unison
Hiyori blushed "Blow out the candles, and don't forget to make a wish!" Hamako added
Hiyori blew them all out with one blow and everyone applauded "Thanks guys..."
"Toshiro was suppose to be here but we aren't sure where he is" Kanji stated while looking around to see if perhaps he was just a bit late
"He is probably doing something for the ANBU, he has been busy with creating a new branch that will be stationed in the new Shinobi village" Hiyori tried to explain, not knowing of the situation currently going on
They cut out the cake and began eating it when suddenly Hamako asked "So Sensei, why haven't you started dating Toshiro yet?" This caused Hiyori to spit out the piece of cake she was chewing on "you use to say it was because you guys were just kids and he other things on his mind and so on, mainly excuse after excuse" she added
"But you guys are both young adults now, so what's the excuse now?" Jun added with a grin
"That is none of your business!" Hiyori answered back with a blush
"Aww come on sensei, you have to lock him down before someone else does it, he is really cute, strong, dependable" Hamako continued on with a smirk
"If you like him so much then why don't you go after him" Hiyori answered back in an attempt to defend herself from the three on one gang up from her team. Over the years they had returned to being close friends, much like they were before the Nigh country mission. However they still held Hiyori with the upmost respect as their sensei
"Well you know, if you don't I may just do that" Hamako said with a grin
Hiyori stared at her with piercing eyes "I DARE you to try" she said while stabbing a piece of cake with her chop stick
Hamako let out a laugh "Sensei, I would never do that to you, I have too much respect for you to do that" she said as her smirk turned into a genuine smile "BUT still, he is really handsome and girls are going to notice that he is still single, sooner or later someone is going to pick him up"
"And what about you? Your still single" Hamako said trying to turn the tables on her
"Am I?" she said with a wink as she took a piece of cake into her mouth
This grabbed the attention of both Jun and Kanji "Wait what?" Kanji said in a bit of a nervous tone "Who!" He added
"Wouldn't you like to know" Hamako said as her smirk returned and taking another triumphed bite of cake
Kanji was slightly sad at the news, he had always had a crush on Hamako but never had the courage to say anything
"Your going to have to introduce us then" Hiyori said curious about who it could be
"Nah, I think I rather like it better this way" She said playfully knowing that it was annoying not only Hiyori but Jun and Kanji
At the same time Naruto entered his office "DADDY!" he was greeted by Saki and Saku who ran up to him and hugged him
"Saku, Saki, I am so happy that you two are safe" he said hugging them back
"Naoto saved us… Although we wouldn't have been in danger had we listened to her and actually just went to the academy" Saki said sadly
"How is Naoto?" Saku asked concerned for her big sister
"She is going to be fine" He said with a warm smile as he let go of them
Sai was standing in his office along with 4 other ANBU ninjas that were there to protect the twins, he got down on one knew "My lord, I accept full responsibility for what happened to Naoto, I know that their safety is my responsibility and I failed" he said as he lowered his head
"Get up Sai, this wasn't your fault. Whoever these people are were also able to attack me in my own home. No one could have predicted this my friend" He said as he put his hand on Sai's shoulder
As said got up Naruto walked over to his desk "I have already sent word to my contacts in the Wind to find out any information" he said as he got back up "However if things are as bad as what I have been hearing I am not sure if I will get a response" he added
"Things could be worst then we tough" another voice stated as Ino and Shikamaru walked in "I am sorry to intrude my lord but you must be made aware of this new information" Shikamaru said with a bow
"What is it Shikamaru? Please don't tell me another one of the Shinobi nations have done something" Naruto said fearing the worst
"I am sorry to say that is indeed the case my lord, Two of our ships were sunk patrolling our coast line by Water nation ships"
"What? Why would Mei do this? Relations with Kiri have never been better!" Naruto said in frustration "This is making less and less sense… three of the four shinobi nations have attacked us in some way or another in the past two days without warning or provocation"
"Four…." Toshiro said walking into the office along with Itachi and Sasuke
"What was that?" Naruto asked
"There was a minor incident at the border with Lighting, it wasn't as bad as the others but with everything else that's been going on I don't think we should ignore it either" Itachi completed as they bowed their heads
Naruto's frustration was growing with every report "Sasuke, I want you to add additional patrols to the village. Sai, I want you to personally oversee the protection of my family"
Both Sasuke and Sai Nodded "I take it that your about to leave the village?" Sasuke asked knowing his friend
"I received word that my team has been attacked, Hanabi was critically hurt but is out of danger, however Yuki has gone missing and Konohamaru has gone after her. I intend to go to the Wind to try and find her and get some answers from Gaara. Itachi, Toshiro will be with me, I also want a tracker like Hinata or Kiba"
"Of course my lord, when do we leave?" Itachi asked
"In three hours" he quickly answered back

Well that ends the chapter, I know its not that great. This is my first chapter since being away so as inspiration hits and my passion returns I hope that they will get better :D
