I just couldn't seem to get the idea of a reunion with Wash and the Blood Gulchers out of my head, so here you go. Enjoy
Tucker didn't know what he'd do if he ever saw Wash alive again, if he'd actually find it in himself to rescue Wash and get him home safely. Tucker did what Wash had done, he put on a brave face and stood up straight as he lead his team because in all reality what other choice did he have? After Wash, Sarge and Donut all got captured Tucker hardly even had a second to miss them or think about what he was supposed to do without his leader before he was leading a team of his own into a real war. He was so scared and nervous and all he could think about was getting Wash and the others back, even if he didn't know what he'd do when that happened.
When it did finally happen, Tucker watched from afar as the others welcomed Sarge and Donut back, the ex-agent nowhere to be seen. Caboose and Donut were practically prancing around each other as they talked in happy, high pitched voices while Sarge argued with Grif while Simmons agreed with Sarge on everything. Tucker had missed them, Sarge's gruffness and Donut's awkwardness, but without Wash there he felt oddly out of place with the others. Tucker sighed and looked down, not sure what to do with himself so he turned around to head to the mess hall so he could sit by himself possible but he froze.
"Hey, sorry I missed the party, was a little held up." Tucker stared at the ex-freelancer standing there before him, his armor beaten up pretty bad and his helmet held under his arm to reveal a scared face and tired eyes hidden behind shaggy, blonde hair. Wash blinked and titled his head a bit. "Tucker?" Tucker felt his eyes sting behind his helmet and he dropped his DMR as he ran over to his CO. Wash grunted as Tucker held him tightly around the waist, not letting go with his tight grip. Wash sighed softly and hugged back. "I missed you too buddy."
"If you ever leave us like that again, I will kill you, understand?" Tucker threatened half-heartedly. Wash nodded with a soft chuckle. "Good. Just want that to be clear."
"It's transparently clear, Tucker," Wash told him. Tucker let go finally and removed his helmet, rubbing his eyes. "And I won't tell anyone you cried." Tucker gave a soft glare and put his helmet back on. "Hello, Caboose."
"WASHINGTON!" Caboose practically knocked him over as he hugged him, sobbing with tears in his eyes. "You-you came ba-a-ack!" Wash held Caboose tight with a chuckle, the Reds coming down the hill with smiles on their faces.
"Of course I came back, and I'm not leaving every again," he promised, raising his other arm as Tucker hugged him from the other side. "Count on it." He looked up at the Reds and smiled. Donut jogged down the hill and hugged Wash too, getting the smiling man to roll his eyes. "Oh lord." Wash laughed a bit as Grif and Simmons walked over and hugged him to from behind. Sarge walked down and clasped a hand on Wash's shoulder.
"You're a good man, Wash," he said slowly, smiling. "Thank you, for whatchya did back there, protectin' us an' all." Wash nodded in response and snickered and Sarge hugged him too. "We're so lucky to have a leader like you." Wash's joking smile faded and his laughing stopped but it wasn't long before the smile returned and he hugged them all tightly in return.
"No," he murmured. "It's me who's the lucky one."
And that's a wrap.
