Guess who forgot how much Fairy Tail-trash they were until they started watching it again and decided to continue with the final chapter of Cursed and some one-shots after like a billion years?
This giiiirrl!
By popular request, this chapter is a continuation of the New Year's oneshot and will take place the next day. Please enjoy ;)
Lucy Heartfilia, celestial mage of Fairy Tail and one of the strongest holder-type wizards in the guild, lay under a table, groaning. Beside her was the fire wizard known as the notorious Salamander (or Natsu Dragneel if you wanted to get technical), one arm wound tightly around his female companion.
"What happened last night?" Lucy sat up, banging her head on the table which made her ears ring and her head pound, worsening the hangover.
"Keep it down…" Natsu's voice was hoarse beside her, trying to pull her body back down.
"Natsu, what are you doing?!" The dragonslayer groaned, letting her go and covering his sensitive ears.
"Woman, turn off your mouth siren…" She ignored him, making her way clumsily out from under the table and stumbling in the piercing daylight.
The guild was a wreck. Tables were overturned and demolished, wizards were sleeping in empty kegs, and there was something sticky on Lucy's shirt that she was certain wasn't supposed to be there. For the most part, the guild members were completely out, some sleeping in odd places, others, Lucy assumed, had gone home.
One thing was for certain; she couldn't remember anything.
But then something occurred to her. Why had she woken up with Natsu wrapped around her like that?
It wasn't uncommon for her pink-haired friend to make uninvited appearances in her home, nor was it uncommon for him to sleep in her bed. But something felt different this time. She smelled like him. Sure, they spent nights in the same bed, but never had she walked away smelling so much like lemon and cinders; like it was rubbed into her skin.
I just need a shower. Lucy thought desperately, and she headed off home (right after putting on some sunglasses).
The cool water had lessened Lucy's body aches and she made herself some coffee before drying off.
I doubt the guild will be open today… Everyone is too hungover to go on jobs.
"Hey Luce." Lucy jumped at her spoken name, whirling around to see none other than Natsu making his way into her bedroom by using the window.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Natsu flinched, covering his ears.
"Would you stop shouting? I wanted to make sure you got home okay. I woke up and you weren't at the guild." Lucy lowered the coffee mug she had been preparing to throw at him.
"Oh… That was really sweet."
"Plus your bed is so soft…"
"Hey! Get out of my bed!"
Natsu scratched his head, squinting and thinking hard. "Do you remember what happened last night? It's all a blur…"
Lucy sighed. "No… But I'm sure it was the same as usual." Natsu 'hummed' in agreement.
"Now can you please get out of here so I can change? I need to sleep off this headache."
"Fine. I gotta go find Happy anyway." The dragonslayer stood up, stretching, before he paused and reached into his pocket. "What's this?"
Natsu pulled a pair of pink, lacy panties from out of his pocket.
"…."
"HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THOSE YOU PERV!?" Lucy snatched them away, face beet red and heart racing. I can't believe I was so hung over I didn't realize I wasn't wearing underwear! And how did Natsu get them?!
"How am I supposed to know, they're yours." Natsu just waved it off, too hungover to notice Lucy's embarrassment, or to piece together what him having her panties could mean. "I'll catch you later Luce." And with that, he jumped out the window.
In a flood, memories of the night before started coming back to Lucy. Natsu hanging off the rafters, him pulling her to the corner, and…
He kissed me! Lucy recalled the way he pressed his body against hers, kissing her with a needing hunger, like an animal. She suddenly realized that her lips were incredibly sore and her legs felt shaky.
And she was pretty sure it wasn't the hangover giving her weak knees.
"Oh my god… I kissed Natsu and I liked it…"
The next day, everything was back to normal. Everyone had slept off their hangovers, Natsu and Gray were back to arguing, and Erza sat at the bar with Lucy, eating a piece of cake. But Lucy's mind was still whirring. She hadn't gotten any sleep like she had planned yesterday, as memories kept coming back in waves. She turned to Erza.
"Do you remember anything from New Year's?"
Erza looked at her curiously, but shook her head. "No. I recall drinking with Cana, but that's about it. Why?"
"N-No reason!" Lucy replied quickly, and she giggled nervously. Natsu hadn't said anything to her, so she was certain he didn't remember. I mean, why would he try? He didn't seem to think them waking up together was that strange. He was dense though; not realizing that him pocketing her panties was very unorthodox.
She felt a sudden weight on her shoulder and she jumped.
"Lucy! Go pick out a job! I'm all fired up to fight some bad guys!" Natsu grinned childishly and Lucy's cheeks burned.
"Why don't you pick out one yourself? I'm not really up for a job today…"
"Hey, what's up with you?" Happy flew over, landing on the dragonslayer's shoulder.
"Yeah, you've been acting weird." The exceed chimed.
Lucy's blush deepened, "I'm not acting weird, you guys are acting weird! I have to go." She shrugged Natsu's arm off her shoulder and walked briskly out the doors.
He stared after her, turning to look at Erza, who simply shrugged.
"Perhaps you hurt her feelings somehow." Natsu pondered for a minute, taking the empty seat next to the Knight.
"I don't know… Yesterday she seemed kind of frazzled."
"She was asking about New Year's. Do you remember something?"
Natsu rubbed his eyes. "No… It's all blank."
Mira slid across the bar, a devilish grin on her sweet face.
"I know why she's acting like that…" Mira sang.
"What is it? What happened?" Mira cocked her head slightly to the side.
"You really don't remember?" Natsu shook his head.
"No… I mean, yesterday I went to her house and she seemed fine. She only started acting weird because I had her underwear in my pocket-"
"YOU WHAT?!" Both Mira and Erza jumped, staring at Natsu in disbelief. The dragonslayer leaned away from them, confused at their outburst.
"What? I just-" Natsu stopped short when the hazy memories started to clear up. He shot up out of his seat, sending the stool flying. "Holy crap! I have to go!" Natsu turned on his heel and ran for two reasons: One, to get to Lucy, and two, to avoid the havoc Mira and Erza might wreak when they came out of shock.
Idiot. Lucy thought to herself, as she walked into her apartment. I can't believe he kissed me and he doesn't even remember! She huffed to herself, setting down her keys and wandering into her closet. She had misplaced the bra that matched the panties Natsu had pocketed.
Her face began to heat up again and she shook her head. Did I come home with it?
The front door to Lucy's apartment banged open, "LUCY!"
The blonde ran out of her room, expecting an emergency. "Natsu! What's wrong?"
Natsu was red-faced and sweaty, panting in an effort to catch his breath.
"I remember."
Lucy paused, "Remember what?"
"I kissed you!" Her face turned red again.
"Uh, yes. Yes you did."
"Why didn't you tell me!?" He demanded, his tone more guilty than accusatory.
"I don't know! I thought you were too drunk to remember!" Natsu put his head in his hands.
"I remember now! It's all coming back to me… The rafter, the corner of the room, then the storage closet…"
"What storage-" Lucy stopped short, and so did her heart, "Oh."
"Yeah…" The dragon mage replied breathlessly.
Silence filled the space between them as they both remembered everything from that drunken night.
"Wow… We were really drunk…" Lucy muttered. Natsu scratched his head.
"I wasn't that drunk." Lucy scoffed.
"You didn't even remember until twenty minutes ago!"
"Yeah, but that doesn't change how I feel."
Lucy's breath caught in her chest. "…What?"
Natsu was silent for a moment, staring at her intently. Then, in what seemed like a split second, he closed the space between them, both hands on Lucy's face and Natsu kissed her.
She felt her whole being heat up from his body heat and she leaned into him, returning the kiss breathlessly. He growled, pushing her against her desk and knocking some frames over. He pulled away after a moment, looking deep into her chocolate eyes.
"Now how could I forget that?" Lucy just grinned, yanking his scarf and pulling him back into her lips.
Back at the guild, Mira was looking through all the photos she took, stopping at the one of Natsu kissing Lucy.
"See?" She showed Erza, who 'hummed'. "But what happened after that?"
"They went into the closet." Replied Happy shortly, munching on a fish. Mira walked over, opening the door. The broom closet was disheveled, several brooms had been snapped and Mira noticed something pink hanging from one of the shelving racks.
"Uh… I think Lucy's going to want her bra back…"
