I got some ideas for this chapter from Rocky5725isYoUrHIGhNeSs. She PMed lots of cool ideas. If anyone ha any other ideas I would love to hear them! I love collaborations!
Callie's vision blurred. Her head spun and her brain felt like mashed potatoes drowned in gravy.
She felt a group of people's warm bodies surrounding her, and her body being cradling in someone's strong arms. The only thing she remembered was that her awful dad was standing in her home.
No! She hissed to herself, this is not your home. They're not going to keep you guys no matter what they say!
"Callie," Jesus whispered in her ear, comfortingly, "that douche is gone."
"Jesus!" Lena shrieked, "language!"
She heard Jesus snort. "Do you want me to say it in Spanish?" Callie was aware of someone hitting him upside his head. Probably Steph.
Callie sat up, spots appearing in her eyes. She wiped the remaining tears from her big, brown eyes and looked the faces that were focused on her. That was new for Callie and it made her uncomfortable. Lena and Mariana's were worried, Brandon's was caring and concerned, Jude's was sad and teary, Steph's was murderous (towards Kyle, of course) and upset towards Callie, and Jesus's was-was something Callie couldn't quite put her finger on. Could it be-loving? No way. He's with Lexi.
Callie swallowed the growing lump in her throat. "Look thanks for the-the-thanks for supporting me, but I'm fine. Come on, Jude, we should talk. And Jesus, um, sorry about your shirt." His shirt was soaked with salty tears from Callie. She helped him up and the siblings walked out to the back porch, leaving the Foster family with many questions unanswered.
Callie plopped herself down on a step, Jude next to her.
"That was Dad?" Jude asked, fiddling with leave that had fallen on the steps.
Callie nodded, wrapping her arm around Jude, pulling him close.
"What do you remember about him, baby?" Callie asked, her lips in his hair.
"That he killed mom that night when we first met Dave. I remember he didn't like me because I wasn't super manly. I remember him being drunk all the time and hitting you and mom. That's all though."
Callie sighed. "You know, when he wasn't drunk, dad could be amazing. Once I had a nightmare when I was like four and dad was great. He rubbed my back and made me warm milk and we watched T.V till I fell asleep."
Jude smiled. "That must have been nice."
"Jude, he's not worth it," Callie said, sensing he was upset, "even though he could be a good dad at times, he was a real douche, just like Jesus said, he's not a good guy. He doesn't deserve to know you." Her eyes flashed.
"I know, Cal, I do, but I just really want to know him, you know. I guess I just want to have a dad who cares."
"You don't need that, Jude. I know what it feels like but you don't need it. You have me."
"And Lena and Steph and Jesus and Brandon and Mariana."
Callie tried not to be annoyed with her little brother. "Jude-"
Jude cut her off, anger in his voice. "Do you not want me to be happy?! I love it here, and they might keep us! I don't have parents, why cant I pretend Lena and Steph could be mine?" He stomped back inside.
Callie eyes began to water and she angrily wiped them away. She heard the door slide open. Jesus sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
"You ok?" He asked as she cuddled into him.
"No," She answered into his neck.
"Can tell you a story?"
Callie nodded.
"Once Mariana and I were in a great foster home. They actually loved us a lot. They volunteered in our classrooms, bought us toys, held us when we had a nightmare. They were going to adopt us. But one day we were the super-market and there was a shooting. Our foster parents got shot. So I kinda know how you feel. Of course I do love it here, but it hurts. And this is a safe place Cal. People here love you."
Callie and Jesus's eyes met. They got closer and closer, until they were 3 inches apart. But their moment was interrupted by Lena coming out and she said, "Can we talk to Callie?"
Callie nodded and got up. Her mind drifted to Jesus, with his dreamy eyes, luscious tan skin, gorgeous hair-no! There will not be another Liam situation. She will not do that to Jude. Plus she had already turned down Brandon. It made perfect sense to not get involved with Jesus. Right?
I feel like I maybe rushed the Callie and Jesus relationship. Did I? Sorry that this was kinda rushed I have loads of homework to do. Thanks. Plz review!
