Cole Who?

Chapter 4

Phoebe quickly pulled her hand away and stumbled back, falling into the nearest chair. Her heart began to beat faster and faster as she glanced at Cole's face.

"Oh no," she moaned from her uncomfortable position in the chair. She closed her eyes and rocked back and forth in her seat trying to wake up from this nightmare. But it wasn't nightmare and it wasn't a dream. The man she once loved was right in front of her.

"The nurse said that he's going to be-" Piper stopped and kneeled down in front of Phoebe. "What's wrong?"

"I can't do it," Phoebe said as the tears began to spill down her face. Piper hugged Phoebe and let her cry in her shoulder.

"Everything is going to be fine," Piper told her. "You have nothing to worry about."

"I don't want him to try to hurt our family" Phoebe sobbed as she lifted up her head.

He won't," Piper said, trying again to get her sister to put the Cole issues behind her, "I promise."

"How can you be sure?" Phoebe asked vehemently, "The man has done it before and he sure as hell can do it again"

"I trust him now and so should you," Piper told her with finality.

Phoebe got up from the chair and turned her back on Piper.

"Do you remember the things he did to us in the past or are you that forgiving?" Phoebe questioned angrily.

"The key word is past, which is what all of the problems are about. You don't have to forget about it but you can at least tryto forgive him, like he forgave you."

"I haven't done anything to require forgiveness." Phoebe said offended by her remark.

"You might not think that but everyone around you does," Piper said.

"What are you talking about?" Phoebe asked, both with frustration and confusion.

"I didn't want to get in your business with Cole, but don't you think you kind of rushed him to get out of your life too soon"

"That's because he was evil," Phoebe answered sourly.

"Believe me, we all thought he was evil because of the whole Source thing," Piper said, "But have you ever given him a chance to explain himself"

"No I haven't," Phoebe told her, "Because I didn't trust him. I still don't trust him. I just can't"

"The next thing I'm about to say will most likely to upset you even more but I'm going to say it anyway." "You were the reason why Cole went insane"

"The man was obsessed with me," Phoebe retorted. "That is definetly not a turn on"

"In a kind of ridiculous way he did it out of love" Piper shot back trying to remain calm.

"Oh please, don't give me that. You would've done the same thing I did if you were in my shoes" Phoebe said.

"That shows how much you know me, I would have done something totally different" Piper reasoned.

"I'm done talking" Phoebe said, leaving the room and into the main entrance

"Phoebe, wait," Piper called out, following her sister.

"I'm going home," Phoebe told her forcefully, continuing to walk without looking at Piper.

"I think we should stay here for awhile," Piper suggested.

"No!" Phoebe snapped."You can stay if you want!"

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Piper shouted out to her.

"What?!" Phoebe asked, finally turning around.

"I have the keys," Piper told her holding up the shiny object in her hand.

"Well, hurry up!" Phoebe called back, exiting the building as Darryl walked over to Piper.

"I guess she didn't like what she saw?" Darryl asked.

"You guessed right" Piper replied, "Keep me posted on his condition."

"You too," he said, before receiving a confused look from Piper, "I mean about you know what."

"I thought you didn't want to know what's going on?" Piper reminded him.

"Hey, can't I be curious sometimes?" Darryl asked while Piper still had a confused on her face. "Yeah you're right it is best I don't know everything"

"I'll see you later," Piper said before following her sister.

"Where are they?" Leo Wyatt thought aloud as he paced around in the Halliwell manor.

He'd been walking back and forth around the room for 20 minutes straight worrying about two of the Charmed Ones. He couldn't help but feel bad for Phoebe after she discovered that Cole is back and was definitely angry that his wife hid it from them. A door close in the not-so distant environment and he immediately ceased his pacing.

"Piper, Phoebe, is that you?" Leo called out.

"No, it's just me," Paige answered in a happy mood, walking in the living room. Her mood changed once she entered. "Please don't tell me that they went on a demonic chase without me?"

"Uh" Leo began.

"I knew it," said Paige. "Wait until they get here I am going to-"

"Phoebe, can we please talk about this?" Piper begged, cutting off her youngest sister's rant as Phoebe stomped into the house and started to head up the stairs.

"No," Phoebe snapped back, "I don't get why you're blaming me for Cole going mad and now that he's back-"

"Am I missing something?" Paige asked as the sisters froze in front of her.

"No" they said in unison as Phoebe started to head up the stairs.

"Stop right there!" Paige told her older sister, who obeyed, her foot aboved the second step.

"Why are you guys talking about Cole?" Paige asked puzzled.

"Uh... well... because..." Piper thought, trying to come up with a lie. She looked at Phoebe who looked back at her hoping for some helped but Phoebe rolled her eyes and turned her head away fast.

"Don't even think about coming up with a lie!" Paige added.

Piper let out a sigh. "Okay the truth is that Cole is alive."

Paige laughed clearly not believing that the news was true.

"I'm serious," Piper said.

"If I recall correctly we vaquished Cole" Paige said.

"I am really tired with explaining this, so I'm going to bed," Phoebe said, but stopped when someone appeared in the room not too far from Paige. She immediately recognised him from her premonition.

"Who the hell are you?!" Phoebe shouted.

"Who I am is irrelevant," Alec replied.

"Answers like that make us presume you're a demon," Paige retorted.

"I am not a demon," Alec said. "I'm here to tell you about Cole."

"He's the guy from my premonition," Phoebe announced.

"What premonition?" Paige asked at a complete loss with everything.

"Long story," Piper said.

"What do you want?" Leo asked.

"I'm here to inform you about Cole," Alec answered, "I was the one who brought him back."

"Do you have any idea as of what you've just done?! What gave you the right to bring back Cole?!" Phoebe asked becoming furious with the mystery man.

"Hmm, I thought you would be happy about it," Alec said.

"Whatever gave you that idea?" Phoebe asked.

"You still love him," Alec told her, "I can feel it. Listen I don't have much time. I have given Cole a potion to take and he should get his memory back in a few days, maybe weeks or even months but it depends."

"Memory back?" the group questioned at the same time.

"I'm aware that Cole has been in an accident and I'm sure that he will recover soon, so you should not mention anything about magic in front of him" he said.

"But Cole didn't want too come to back to mess things up. Piper said. "Why did he listen to you"

"He didn't exactly take the offer," Alec told them unabashfully, "I did it anyway."

"Of course you did, Leo said superiorly.

"I know what you've been through Phoebe. I wanted to help you out" Alec said.

"I didn't ask for your help," Phoebe shot back.

"You may not have asked for it but you needed it" Alec said.

"Your little plan for making Cole and I get back together won't work," Phoebe pronounced.

"Don't be too sure about that," Alec said as his body began to fade away.

"Hey where are you going?!" Piper yelled, "We're not finish talking to you!"

"I'll be back," he said, "But until then remember what I said " He added before vanishing from sight.
