Let's continue
Disclaimer: I do not own the Arkham Series
Robin returned to the Batcave. Oracle was still sitting at the Batcomputer.
"Found anything?" asked Robin
"Nothing yet, what about you?" asked Oracle
"I think I know who's behind everything, Shiva mentioned that her master has a plan" said Robin
"Her master?" asked Oracle
"Yeah, there's only one person who that can be..." said Robin
Oracle thought for a second.
"...Ra's Al Ghul?" asked Oracle
"Exactly, he knows my father's secret, maybe he captured him so he could continue with the League and my father wouldn't stop him" said Robin
"But why take the invention? And why capture The Riddler?" asked Oracle
"I don't know" said Robin
Robin went to leave, on the way out, he grabbed a concussion detonator from a table. Robin went to the roof of the Ace Chemicals building, he activated the Cryptographic Sequencer, he hacked into the police frequency.
"All units, please report, the mayor has been captured, repeat, the mayor has been captured, all units report to City Hall" said one of the officers
Robin made his way to City Hall, he reached the mayor's office, a police officer was investigating.
"Robin, you're here, thank god!" said the officer
"What happened?" asked Robin
"The mayor, he was sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, he vanished, you may think this sounds ridiculous but...security believes that the captor may be able to teleport" said the officer
"What?" asked Robin
"I know, it's stupid, but if the captor just walked out with the mayor then everyone would have noticed" said the officer
"I'll find out what happened" said Robin
Robin activated the evidence scanner, he scanned the windows.
"The windows haven't been opened, the captor didn't climb in through the window" thought Robin
Robin scanned a set of footprints in the middle of the room.
"These footprints came from a pair of loafers, size 9, there's a mark next to the footprints, like the captor was holding a cane or something" thought Robin
Robin scanned more footprints.
"The footprints lead to the mayor's grandfather clock, as if they were admiring it, before heading to the mayor's desk" thought Robin
Robin scanned the mayor's desk.
"No fingerprints aside from the mayor's, but there is a handprint from someone wearing a pair of gloves" thought Robin
Robin scanned the door to the office.
"The door is wide open, the mayor always leaves the door closed when he's in his office alone, but if the captor really could teleport then they wouldn't have needed to open the door, the captor didn't teleport, but they could move fast enough for no one to notice, on the other hand, the police might have left it open" thought Robin
Robin approached the officer
"Sir, the door, was it open when you arrived or did the police leave it open?" asked Robin
"The door was already open, the police haven't touched anything" said the officer
Robin went back to the door, he found a piece of fabric caught in the door frame.
"This fabric is light brown, the material is corduroy, the way it's stitched together indicates that it's from a suit, but corduroy suits haven't been made for years, and they haven't been sold in Gotham City for even longer, this suit is from someone who either kept their figure to keep the suit, or someone who bought multiple suits of different sizes to wear as they grew" thought Robin
Robin scanned the fabric.
"Wait, that's it, I know what happened, the fabric, the footprints, the clock, the open door, the fast movement, the fact that the target is the mayor...there's only one person that this could be...Temple Fugate...The Clock King" thought Robin
Robin left, when he was outside, he contacted Oracle.
"Oracle, the mayor has been kidnapped, by Temple" said Robin
"Clock King? Where would he have taken him?" asked Oracle
"I think I know where, the clock tower" said Robin
Robin rushed to the clock tower, when he reached his destination, he took a moment to think of a strategy.
"If I climb from the bottom floor then it'll take too long, but the top of the tower is too far away for the Grapple to reach, I better grapple to the highest point it CAN reach" thought Robin
Robin took out the grapple launcher and reached a high floor of the Clock Tower, he found himself in a place where he was surrounded by gears, he took out the grapple gun and grappled up to a higher platform, when Robin was on the platform, he grappled to another higher one, where he was faced with a door, he walked through the door to find himself facing more mechanisms of the clock tower, he used the gears to climb to a higher platform and leapt to another. Robin went around the mechanisms to the other side of the room, he reached another door, passing through the door, he found himself in a small room with a gear at the top, there was a gap in the gear and a hole in the roof, the gap passed the hole every couple of seconds, Robin took out the grapple gun and had to time this perfectly, Robin fired the grapple gun and passed through the hole. Robin noticed a ladder, he climbed it to reach the top of the tower, he saw Mayor Hamilton Hill tied up to a chair attached to several car batteries and a timer. Next to him was a skinny man, below average in height, he was wearing a light brown corduroy suit with a matching bowler hat, he had grey hair, he had a pair of glasses with 2 lines drawn on each lens to make them look like clock faces, in his left hand was a brass pocket watch while in his right hand was a solid gold cane made into the shape of a clock hand, some sort of device was strapped into his belt.
"Huh, 10:29 and 27 seconds, that's too long" said the man
"Hold it right there Fugate" said Robin
"Ah, Robin, where's Batman?" asked Clock King
"Never mind that, what are you up to?" asked Robin
"It's simple Boy Wonder, in exactly 1 hour, 29 minutes and 41 seconds, the chair the mayor is strapped to will be electrified with the power from these 10 car batteries, no human can withstand that much electricity" said Clock King
"Nothing's going to happen if I have anything to say about it" said Robin
"I admire your confidence Boy Wonder, but how do you expect to beat what you cannot see" said Clock King
Clock King activated the device on his belt and disappeared, normally, a person would be nervous about what to do in this situation, but Robin's training with the League of Assassins had given him razor sharp reflexes, when Clock King reappeared behind Robin, Robin quickly hit him with his Bo Staff, Clock King was dazed and Robin took out the disruptor and disabled Clock King's device.
"You'll pay for that, Robin" said Clock King
Clock King tried to use his device, but it didn't work.
"Damn You Boy Wonder" said Clock King
Clock King grabbed his Clock Hand cane and started using it as a sword, Robin used his Bo Staff to block each of Clock King's attacks, Robin got an idea and lead Clock King towards the chair the Mayor was strapped to, when Clock King was about to attack Robin, Robin moved out of the way, Clock King's sword cut the wires connected to half the car batteries.
"No matter, the human body still can't withstand the power from 5 car batteries" said Clock King
Robin grabbed a shuriken and threw it in the direction of the chair, it cut through the wires and the mayor was free.
"NO!" screamed Clock King
Clock King turned around only for Robin to kick him in the face and knock him out.
"Thank you Robin" said the mayor
"No problem sir, I'll see to it that this man is sent to Arkham as soon as possible" said Robin
Robin placed a set of handcuffs on Clock King and left. Robin pulled out the map when a beacon appeared, it showed Robin's destination. After the Arkham City incident, the League of Assassins hideout had to be relocated, when Robin tracked the location, Enigma appeared.
"Found them yet?" asked Enigma
"You really shouldn't get involved" said Robin
"I don't care if I should or if I shouldn't, I just want my father back, have you found them yet?" asked Enigma
"Yes, I'm on my way there now" said Robin
"I'm coming with you" said Enigma
"No, you're not" said Robin
Robin headed off to the League Hideout.
That does it for this chapter, hope you enjoyed. Now, incase you people don't know who The Clock King is, The Clock King was the alias of a man called William Tockman, who is actually a Green Arrow enemy, but he has made more than several appearances in Batman Media, however, after his death, the alias was taken over by someone else. However, this Clock King is actually based on the Animated Series Clock King, who holds a grudge against the mayor for unintentionally making him go bankrupt, he is able to move so fast because in his second appearance in the Animated Series, he stole a device from an inventor that allowed the user to move faster than the eye can see.
