Spiritomb
For some reason, one-hundred-eight was the magic number. That is how many spirits are necessary to create a Spiritomb.
The creation of one was not on purpose, people were tired of the mischievous spirits so they turned to a medium. The medium sought to seal the spirits inside an Odd Keystone. Imagine the medium's surprise when a strange creature popped out of it all of a sudden. The spirits had combined to create a new Pokémon!
The situation was not as bad as one would think. Instead of one-hundred-eight different spirits causing trouble, it was one fairly powerful, new Pokémon.
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver Entry: It was formed by uniting 108 spirits. It has been bound to the Odd Keystone to keep it from doing any mischief.
