Naoto's Secret Chapter 4
"Dam that king moron" Yosuke groaned as he was irritated with their horrible teacher.
"Hey, I'm sorry about the answer I gave you was wrong, if I had gotten it right maybe he wouldn't have humiliated you in class." Yu apologized.
"Humiliated is such an ugly word…" Yosuke sighed" No hard feelings partner, he would of found some other way to dis me, so don't beat yourself over it." He reassured his partner not to take King Moron's word seriously.
"You have a point there… I can't believe he's a teacher here though, I mean in the world in their right mind thought he was a good choice for a high school teacher." The more he thought about it the more it didn't make sense.
"Enough of king moron, let's talk about something better… LIKE RISESTTE!" Yosuke's practically yelled the last two words. "Did you hear that she's coming here in Inaba soon? I can't wait! Any guy would be lucky do date her." Yosuke was almost jumping around like a little kid.
"Who?" I didn't know who was this Risestte is but I only had one girl in mind and that was Naoto. But of course no one knew we were dating. I soon regret asking who she was.
"Who? You GOT to be kidding! She's one of the most popular singers in the world. "He waved his arms around while telling me this." You lived in the city; did you live under a rock or something?" He then folded his arms to his chest waiting for my reply.
"Funny how I move to a small town in the country side and only now I hear about popular stars?" Just then my phone beeped. I took it out and saw I got a text message from Kanji-kun. I then read the content. 'Can we talk Senpai? Meet me on the roof.'
"I got to go, Kanji-kun wants to talk to me." I told Yosuke.
"Okay. I have to work at Junes anyways; it is having a sale in electronics. I'll make sure no one buys our TV." He gave thumbs up and I did in return.
That was a scary thought… then how would we prevent more murders if someone bought the TV we use in Junes to go in the TV world. I then proceed to the Yasogami High School roof were kanji-kin was waiting.
"Hey what did you want to talk to me about Kanji-kun?" He turned to face me.
"I wanted to apologize for the other day when I announced I saw you with that boy detective." He was rubbing the back of his head. "Here… I made you this; you see my family owns the textile shop in the shopping district." In his hand was a well-made doll. The doll had a well detailed blue cap and white shirt and blue jeans, it also had a very cute face of a young boy.
"Really you made this? You're pretty good at this. And apology accepted Kanji-kun." I almost forgotten about that, I was just glad our secret didn't get out.
"Y-you really think this is good? Most people think someone like me shouldn't be doing something like this. I guess that's what you saw in the TV world – I was afraid of being rejected for who I really am." His cheeks were tinted red from the comment I gave him.
"Well I don't judge people based on their hobbies, especially yours. I think you should continue making things." I really hated stereotypes. I mean who says a punkish like kid can't sew? "Is that all you wanted to talk about?" I asked him.
"Oh, yeah that's it. Thanks a lot Senpai, I feel a lot better now." He was smiling and held his right fist in the air with his left covering his right forearm. "Oh Senpai did you hear about Risestte? Her grandma owns the tofu shop that's also in the shopping district."
'Not you too… I'm I the only one who hasn't heard about her?' "Yeah Yosuke told me earlier."
We talked for a little while more then we left different ways. I then decided to pay Naoto a surprise visit at the Shirogane estate.
Later…
I ring the doorbell at the Shirogane estate. An old man opened the door. I assumed it was Naoto's grandfather.
"I'm here to see Naoto-Kun. You're her grandfather right?" I want to make a good impression.
"Oh? You know she's a girl? I'm really surprised, she's always calling herself the detective prince and such." The old man was rubbing his beard. "Are you her friend of my granddaughter? She never had a friend over before; she's always in her detective books."
"A little more than a friend." It just popped out, plus I couldn't lie to her grandfather.
"Are you now? What is your name young man?" He almost looked like he could stare into my soul.
"Narukami Yu. I'm in my second year at Yasogami High." I answered right away. "Can I get permission to date your granddaughter?"
"It's fine. I'm glad she's getting out in the world more. I really hoped that she would have more of a social life, even wished for it at the shrine a few times. Guess it came true. Now you better be good to her." He wanted the best for his granddaughter.
"I would never hurt her and I'm honored that gave permission to date her. She's really great person, I wish she could see that." It felt really good that at least someone knew about them.
"So do I young man." Her grandfather agreed.
"Grandpa, who are you talking too?" Naoto noticed he was talking to someone at the front door.
"Oh, just your boyfriend." He smiled his granddaughter.
"B-Boyfriend…?" Naoto stuttered the words out. Her grandfather welcomed the visitor inside. It was Yu. "W-What are you doing here?"
"Do I need a reason to visit my girlfriend?" I then hugged her. She hugged me back slowly and whispered in my ear." What are you saying? My grandfather is right there, if you haven't noticed!" She said desperately trying to tell Yu that it is embarrassing to just to admit that he was his boyfriend to her grandfather.
"I told him." I simply told her calmly without hesitation.
"Why?" she asked questioningly.
"I just couldn't lie to him." It was the truth, who would want to lie to an old but wise elderly like him?
"He has that effect on me too…" Although she was one to never really lie.
"I'll just leave you young lovebirds alone. But make sure you two are not doing any funny business." Her grandfather said with a grin as he walked further into the estate.
"G-Grandfather!" Naoto yelled in embarrassment and let go of me. We heard laughing from the hallway her grandfather went in to.
"So what's up?" I asked
"You know the usual, detective work." Her face was still red.
"Did you get any further with the Inaba murder case?" I said mainly of curiosity and the fact the investigation team and I are solving this as well.
"A little, but it's not really your concern. Please don't ask again." She said in all seriousness.
"Understood." I figured she would give an answer like that.
"Good. Now let me show you around since you're here." They then proceeded further into the estate.
We talked for the rest of the night and finally it was time to leave. I kissed her goodbye and it looks like she's still not used to being kissed. I left for the Dojima residence.
"Welcome home big bro!" Said Nanako who gave me her usual greeting when I arrive home." Oooh what's that in your hand!" Nanako wondered.
"A friend made it. Here put this in your room." I then handed her the handmade doll.
"Really! This is soooo cool! I love it!" She then ran to her room.
~Later in the night… The midnight channel
It showed a teenage girl with brown hair. As usual one of the team members of the investigation group calls me after we had seen who would be the next victim. It was Yosuke again.
"Hello, partner!" I know who that was!" He said in a rush.
"Who?" Why am I getting a sense of Déjà vu?
"That was RISESTTE!" Yosuke nearly shouted my ear off.
Oh that's why…
"Calm down, Yosuke… you don't need to shout!" I scolded him. "Oh, Sorry… Anyways, this tells us that she is definitely the next victim." Yosuke said.
"Yea, I think we should discuss more on this tomorrow as usual." I suggested. "Good idea, goodnight partner." With that he hung up the phone. I stared out at a distance as rain pelted against my window. Just then, an idea stuck out of my mind. Maybe I should ask Naoto to find more information on Rise's background… Since she too is investigating this case… I thought.
