Cade and his team were out in the Dusk desert with Thorn and Mr X-Hairs hunting down the player who attacked Lilac IRL and they were not exactly the happiest players is GGO at the time
"Where can she be?" Cade asked
"We have to fall back and think of a plan" Kureha said
"There's not enough time" Buck said
"There is always time for a plan" Darx said
"Not this time!" Cade bellowed as they charged straight ahead
"Well, at least take a break for a moment huh?" X-Hairs said
"Okay I guess that is fine" Cade said as he sat down next a rock, right next to another rock which felt weird, so he gave it a nudge and it moved. Cade gave it another nudge which made it move again also weird rock had bunny ears
"Cade?" Rez asked
"YOU! I'M FINALLY GOT YOU NOW!" Cade laughed as he activated his plasma sword and pointed it at the bunny eared rock
"Hello" the rock said before turning into a cute looking girl, who tried to run away, only to be grabbed and restrained by Cade
"Hello LLENN!" Cade smirked
"Oh crap" Buck said "Put the poor gal down Cade"
"Hello" LLENN gulped
"And she is?" Kureha asked
"LLENN, the pink devil, one of the best players in GGO" Cade said
"And the fastest too, makes Kirito look like a snail" Rez said
"Not to mention she got the better of our fearless leader" Buck laughed
"At least my nemesis based on a bunny is an actual human" Cade said
"Low blow" Buck said
"Meaning?" Kureha asked
"Let's just call it Hopper" Cade said
"Oh don't you freaking dare talk about him!" Buck snapped
"He's the reason Bucky boy here started playing GGO in the first place"
"Serious?" Kureha asked
"Shut up, shut up, shut!" Buck shouted making everyone laugh. Rouge paused and an image flashed in her mind making her grip her arm
"Hey you okay?" Kureha asked
"Just a glitch in my memory" Rouge said
"What is it?" Kureha asked
"I found something" Bunker said
"Where?" Cade asked
"Over there" Bunk said as the team got down real low
"Is that? Rez asked
"Yeah Gran Duke, Rochefort and that bitch we're currently hunting Tempest" Cade said
"Cade, this could get real messy real fast" Rez said
"I know that" Cade said
"But why are you all doing this?" LLENN asked
"One of their member nearly killed one of mine IRL" he said
"What?" LLENN asked shocked
"So I'm going to make sure that never happens again" Cade said
"I don't think this is a good idea" Bunk said
"Well I do" Cade said drawing his gun and check its ammo.
"Okay, I suppose I can help, anybody got an optical weapon?" Bunk asked as he traded ammo types
"I do" Kureha said
"Okay, let's do this" Cade said. "On three"
Bunker got in position and saw Duke's party with everyone taking a break. Bunk nodded to Kureha was in position with her energy pistol.
"Here we go" Bunker said firing six grenades at the enemy group making a cloud of reddish smoke appear. Bunk got down and nodded to Kureha who aimed down the sights of her gun and fired a single shot from it, they quick
"Now what?" Kureha asked
"GET DOWN!" Bunker said as a massive boom like a crack of thunder shot out over the desert as debris went everywhere
"What was that!?" Cade shouted shielding both Kureha and Makoto from
"And why do I smell barbecue?" Rez asked
"That was what I call a flavour bomb, a nasty mix of napalm, thermite and barbecue seasoning, it's a customised round I created, throw the enemy off with the barbecue seasoning to hide the smell of the explosives and then once it is ignited with an optical laser makes a nice big boom" Bunker said
"So they're dead?" Cade asked
"I'll check" Rez said
"You can let go now" Kureha said blushing
"Oh right" Cade said
"MASTER! Are you okay, you're all red!" Makoto gasped
"I'm fine" Cade said ruffling her hair a bit before turning to the enemy group
"What the hell?" Rez asked "How are they alive?"
"You mean they're still alive?" Bunker asked
"Barley. NO DAMN IT!" Rez shouted
"Now what?" Cade asked
"They logged out" Rez snapped
"Fuck!" Cade shouted
"It's alright, I think we should head back to the apartment" Lilac said
"Sure" Cade said
"Cade" Kureha realised something about her long time friend, he's anger issue were still present only they were under limited control.
"Well that could have gone better" Bunker said
"You think?" Cade snapped
"Calm down, we didn't know they would be that strong" Rouge said
"We will get them" Rez said
"Oh okay, yeah sure when!" Cade snapped. Kureha was not liking how this was going and then remembered something, she looked at her menu and saw what she was looking ofr
"Okay guys I'm going to go on a quest, and Cade is going to escort me"
"Wait what?" Cade asked before he was dragged away by Kureha
"Bye-bye" she said teleporting them out of there
"Master" Makoto said
"Don't worry Kureha's got this, so how about we buy some food" Rouge said
"I could go for a nice hot pot at the moment" Rez said
"Okay let's go" Rouge said as she, Makoto and Rez left the apartment
Cade and Kureha were in the Remnant wasteland destroying scorpions when they stopped
"What's wrong?" Cade said blasting a scorpion with his Long Stroke before reloading
"Feeling calmer?" Kureha asked
"What do you mean?" Cade asked slashing a monster with his sword
"Your anger, I think while you have better control over it you still have a problem with it" Kureha said as she fired at a drone which dropped out of the sky
"I don't have an anger problem" Cade said
"Yeah you do" Kureha said
"Since when?" Cade asked
"We were childhood friends and so I think I know you a bit better then you think" Kureha said
"I like the think the same for you, I have a feeling you started to play this game thanks to Kotone being a prodigy and you not being one, you started to play games to be better at something then her, only you feel worse at it since you feel like I'm better then you, but that's not right" Cade stated
"Yeah right!" Kureha shouted
"I'm not, I had to actually work at it" Cade said
"SO DID I!" Kureha said
"Hi, are we interrupting something?" a voice said making the two point their weapons at the source of the voice "I'm taking that as a yes" they said revealing themselves to be Kirito
"Shit Kirito, don't sneak up on us like that" Cade said putting his sabre away
"You know him?" Kureha asked putting her own gun away
"Who Kirito here, yeah we've had a few run in with each other's groups" Cade said
"And we've even teamed up a few times, like the boss in the Nueva Wetlands, that was a hard one"
"And half of your team were held by tentacles" Cade laughed
"Shut up" Kirito laughed. "Oh by the way this is Leafa, my sister" he said indicating a busty blonde behind him
"Nice to meet" Leafa said
"The same here" Kureha said
"So what are you guys out here for?" Cade asked
"We're looking for a mission item, its a pretty rare find" Leafa said
"You're looking for the Diamond in the area, so are we" Kureha said
"We are?" Cade asked
"Yeah we are" Kureha said
"Okay" Cade shrugged and pulled out his blue photon sword and waved it around like a metal detector
"Oh you have seriously got to be kidding me at the moment" Kureha sighed "I'm sorry about this
"It's okay" Kirito said "I know what's he's doing. I've seen it before"
"What is he doing?" Leafa asked
"Item divining" Kirito said "No one in the game knows why but Cade's got a major luck stat"
"Seriously?" Leafa asked shocked
"It's not just in game either. When we were little kids he was always lucky"
"But seriously there is no way he is" Leafa started
"Found it" Cade cried out
"Going to stumble across a rare item" Leafa finished
"You were saying?" Kirito asked as a diamond landed in his hands
"So is that what you needed?"
"Yeah it is thanks" Kirito said
"No problem" Cade said as Kureha got an email
"Uh oh" Kureha said
"What is it?" Cade asked
"Your AI's missing" Kureha stated
"What?" Cade asked checking the message "Gotta GO!" he shouted
"Wait for me moron!" Kureha shouted
Once they were back at the Glocken the pair started to look for Makoto
"Where is she?" Kureha asked
"You heck over there I'll handle this side" Cade said going right while Kureha went left. Cade was about to pull his weapon out when he remembered that weapons weren't allowed to be used inside the city 'I just hope Duke hasn't gotten his slimy clawed tentacles on her!' he gritted his teeth "Makoto!" he shouted out again
"Master!" a cheery voice said making him stop and see his AI with a girl dressed in a black and yellow suit, he smiled and ran over to her and frowned
"Makoto, why aren't you with the others?" Cade asked sternly
"I'm sorry master I turned to look at something for a second and when I turned back they were gone. I was in the process of heading home when I got lost more" Makoto admitted looking down
"It's okay, you're safe with me now" Cade said rubbing her head affectionately "Thank you miss for helping Makoto"
"You are quite welcome" the girl said "I am Daisy a Type X ArFA-Sys"
"So she's like you" Cade said
"Ah there you, you two shouldn't run off, it's dangerous around here" a female player said
"Rest assured master, my exercise routine values have been set in safe parameters" Daisy said
'Oh great it had to be her' Cade said
"That's all good, but there are still other dangers that cuties like you could run into as well you know, So for now please don't leave my side" the newcomer said treating Daisy the same way a mother would a small child
"And you Makoto should stay near the others or me okay?" Cade asked
"Yes master" Makoto
"Hello Cade, I see you have an Arfa-Sys as well" the woman said "They are very rare you know, so people will be gunning for her"
"I know Zeliska, but the major concern I have is Duke going after my teammates and you as well"
"Oh my, the game's greatest bounty hunter is concerned about me"
"You know I am, heck I've been dealing with Duke's girl hunting since my third week here" Cade said as he held out and arm for the motherly player who accepted it "You've changed your clothes"
"Oh you like?" Zeliska asked
"Whole lot of fanservice tropes going on with it" Cade said admiring the purple and white dress which revealed a fair amount of skin.
"And I last saw you, you looked like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, now you wear a badass long coat" Zeliska said admiring the red duster Cade wore
"Now what can I do for you?" Cade asked
"I have a mission for you" Zeliska said "A bounty that is needed to be cashed"
"Follow me" Cade said as he lead the girls back to the base of the Wyvern Corsairs
"Makoto" Rouge said as she and Lilac hugged the AI
"Thank goodness you're safe" Kureha said taking her turn to hug the AI girl "Zeliska" she said noticing the other player
"It's good to see you with a full squad Kureha" Zeliska
"Okay what is the Wandering Queen doing here?" Bunker asked
"Okay now that we're here I have an offer, one that should have been offered to you first, even before Alphard" Zeliska said
"And what is that?" Rez asked
"A 15 million credit bounty"
"Who's the player?" Cade asked becoming serious
"Have you heard of a player called Pitohui" Zeliska
"The deadly beauty. I was wondering when I was going to get her bounty" Cade said "Even if it means putting Tempest on hold"
"Tempest?" Zeliska asked
"Long story, so I take it she has a team?" Cade asked
"PM4, the same team she was with for SJ2" Zeliska said
"That's a dangerous team" Rez said "Why now?"
"She's a death seeker and we believe she is in possession of a functioning Nerve Gear" Zeliska said "Crazy bitch" Darx said
"We don't know if she's using it now or not. But someone has posted this bounty on the board five teams tried the bounty already and each one failed"
"Alright, we'll take the job"
"You will?" Zeliska asked
"We will" the others asked
"Sure why not?" Cade asked before seeing the time "We'll log out for now and go bird hunting tomorrow okay?"
"Good plan, we'll be sharper"
"What about school?" Kureha asked
"It's a weekend tomorrow" Cade said
"Oh right" Kureha said
"Should we get in touch with X-Hairs?" Bunker asked
"Nah, it's not going to be too hard, we should give him some time with his missus" Cade said
"Alright, log out time guys" Rez said
"Goodnight master" Makoto said
"Night Mak" Cade said kissing Makoto's forehead before logging out
"Pitohui huh?" Cade asked as he adjusted his glasses while reading the information on his in game target
"Another bounty hunt?" Claire asked walking into his room
"Sure is squirt" Cade said ruffling her hair
"You think you're going to win?" Claire asked
"You doubting the game's best bounty hunter?"
"Did Boba Fett get eaten?" Claire asked
"That hurts" Cade said hugging her "Alright time you were in bed,"
"Five more minutes?" Claire asked
"No, considering its been twenty minutes past your bed time" Cade said
"Oh come on" Claire said as Cade herded her to bed. Once she was tucked in Cade gave her a stuffed animal and waited until she was fully asleep before leaving andf closing the door. Cade sighed and looked at his sister's door. He was one lucky guy to have such great family and friends. He then went to bed and fell asleep.
Cade found himself in an ethereal forest. In his hand was a Colt 1911 with an extended barrel, on his hip was his photon sword.
"Cade" a soft voice whispered
"Kurenai?" Cade asked as he went in a different direction to his original course. Once he found her standing in a field of pink, white and red flowers in a white and light green dress out of a fantasy game she turned to him and smiled
"There you are my champion" Kureha said as she walked to wards him making Cade place his sidearm back before taking Kureha into his arms and just holding her tightly before kissing her as he lowered her to the floor as the setting sun flare. This was the stopping point of this particular dream, he growled softly before placing his hands behind his head and sighing. Once again he had a fantasy, while this one was tamer than the ones in the past, it still effected him. He decided that he would soon tell her how he felt about her even after meeting up with her after all these years. Just one look into her eyes made him fall in love with a girl he hasn't met in years. He knew she was the one. Soon he fell back asleep, this time he woke up in the Glocken apartment with the water running before stopping, getting up he Cade approached the shower area, when Kureha walked out wearing basically nothing but a pair of pink short shorts and a towel around her shoulder
"Hey cutie" she said kissing him, which is when he woke up, blushing
"Damn it" he growled
"Alright team, let's gear up and move out" Cade said the next day as the Wyverns prepped their gear
"Hey you okay?" Kureha asked
"just some weird dreams" Cade said "You?"
"The same" she said blushing
"You don't think?" Rez asked
"Maybe" Bunker said
"Maybe what?" Lilac asked
"Nothing" the two said
"You guys ready?" Cade asked
"Yeah" They all shouted
"She was last seen in the mountains near the wastelands" Kureha said
"Lock and Load people the hunt begins NOW!"
The group were silently moving along the wall. Cade had trouble keeping focus because of his dreams. While trying to refocus, he's hand slipped just in time to avoid a bullet. Looking up he saw Pitohui smiling at him
"Yoo hoo" a voice said
"Pitohui!" Cade said as he pulled out his handgun and fired a few round, only to see her gone.
"Where did she WHOA!" Bunker said as he was thrown off by the target
"Buck, Darx flank around to the right, girls head north!" Cade order
"Roger" they all said as they went to it
"Rez, you okay?"
"I've got an idea in mind" Rez said as he grabbed his Dragonfall sniper and got in position and aimed
"I hope my backup is in position" Cade said
Pitohui jumped to the left as Buck and Darx moved towards her. Smirking she grabbed her KTR-09 and opened fired at the two guys making them the main focus. Kureha loaded her Uzi while Rouge loaded up her MP5K guns while Lilac used her AR-57 Assault Rifle. They nodded and stood up and unloaded their currently equipped magazines at her, Most of them missed. Laughing Pitohui shot at the girls, one of her bullets skimmed across Rouge's back making her fall to the ground
"Not again" she whimpered "Please, not again
"ROUGE! LOOK OUT!" Rez shouted as a red blade came at her.
"NO!" Rouge screamed
G'day Guys Grizz here and wow that was a lot wasn't it, this was not how I originally pictured this chapter being written. Originally it was a massive fight between Duke's group and Cade's squadron, which somehow shifted to this with Zeliska meeting the team and Pitohui being the target of a bounty hunt as well as two Kureha fantasy and the fact they might be affecting his fieldwork plus it seem Kureha might be having something similar, next time I'll focus on the backstory of a character and it will mostly be set IRL and hwo that character deals with their reason for joining the Wyvern Corsairs
