Monkey Adventures 6: Monkey Cupid
After facing their counterparts things are more or less back to normal for Monty and the gang but not for long. It's Valentine's Day and Monkey Fist is planning a day all to himself and Shego, too bad that fate has other plans in the form of a Love Potion. Now the two lovers, Duff, Jim, Tim, Wade and Maim must find a way to reverse the effects before it becomes permanent. Chapter 4: Running from the love and some answers
Everyone slowly started walking towards Kim's house, trying not to attract too much attention but everyone was too busy kissing and dancing down the streets to take too much notice of them.
"Well, at least they don't seem to be interested in us," said Shego.
"Thank Hanuman for small mercies," said Monkey Fist.
They walked past the park where Fukushima was kissing Monique and Hirotaka was kissing Amelia.
"Those two are going to beat themselves up after this," commented Takashi.
"Well, maybe it'll give them both the nudge they need to try start a relationship with the girls. I know they were attracted to the Other World Monique and Amelia. It seems to be the same here," said Shego.
"Perhaps it'll give Blue Boy the push tha' he needs too," said Killigan as they walked past Drakken and Betty.
"He is going to be very red after this," said Monkey Fist with a grin.
"Just imagine all the teasing we can do," Shego grinned and they all chuckled at the thought.
"Is that Kim?" asked Jim, spotting his sister. The odd thing was, she was with no one but seemed to be under the effects of the, whatever it was that was making people feel the love.
"You're not feeling the love," said Kim, her eyes glazed but somewhat focused. This statement made those who heard her stopped what they were doing and looked at Monkey Fist's group.
"Why am I getting a very bad feeling?" asked Wade.
"Get them, make them feel the love," said Kim.
"Feel the love, feel the love," said everyone, moving towards the group, hands outstretched.
"Well, shall we run fer our lives?" asked Killigan.
"Oh yes let's," replied Monkey Fist sweetly.
"Run now!" yelled Shego and they ran, ploughing through the love zombies. Shego grabbed Jim's hand while Killigan grabbed Wade's. Monkey Fist held both Takashi's and Tim's while Maim carried Hana. Luckily the love zombies were slow and they were able to duck into an alleyway.
"Ok, what the heck is up with everyone listening to Kimmie and why isn't she 'feeling the love' with anyone?" asked Shego.
"She's differen' from the others," said Killigan.
"Perhaps she's responsible for this madness," suggested Maim.
"There's one way to find out," said Jim.
"Go back to our house," said Tim.
"Guys, I suggest we run because those Love Zombies are coming straight for us!" yelled Shego.
"Run!" yelled Monkey Fist and the chase was on once again. They ducked and dodged, weaving around love struck couples.
"Shego, can ye do anythin' lassie?" asked Killigan, panting from all the running.
"Yeah, I can do this," said Shego, sending a plasma blast at a fire hydrant, causing water to spurt out everywhere and making the Love zombies slip and trip.
"Get them! Make the evil ones feel the love!" yelled Kim.
"Evil ones?" asked Wade, panting hard.
"The only evil one around here at this point in time is her!" shouted Takashi, not letting go of his father's hand as they ran.
"Ah second tha' point!" yelled Killigan running with Wade right behind him, his strong grip not letting go of the young genius.
"In here," said Monty, ducking into an alley with the others following, only for them to run into Drakken and Dr Director!
"Oh no," said Monkey Fist.
"Nice job there laddie," said Killigan sarcastically.
"Pardon me for not having ex-ray vision or being able to sense people's presences!" Monkey Fist snapped.
Drakken let loose his vines and they all had to jump and dodge out of the way. Jim got caught from a vine come from underneath the ground.
"Help!" he cried as he was drawn closer to Drakken.
"Jim!" cried Tim.
"Feel the love," the Dr droned.
"No, help!" said Jim, struggling.
Monkey Fist was in a fight with Dr Director and Killigan was keeping the rest of the love zombies away with Takashi's help while keeping Maim, Tim, Wade and Hana safe.
Shego delivered a nasty blow to Fukushima with a 'sorry' and then leapt to the twin's rescue. "Sorry, Dr D, but this is going to hurt you a lot more than it's going to hurt me," she said and used her plasma on his vines. He howled in pain, relapsed Jim, who Shego grabbed and dragged to the middle of the group.
"Monty, how do we get out of this?" asked Maim.
"Everyone, grab hands and cover your eyes, I'm throwing down a smoke bomb," said Monkey Fist and they obeyed. They made a break for it under the cover of the smoke, managing to knock over several love zombies in the process. They made it to Kim's house with a few more scuffles but nothing they couldn't handle. True, Monkey Fist and Shego did have to go up against Ron and Yori but Shego's plasma was enough to take out Yori and Monkey Fist knocked Ron out. Tim wrenched open the door and everyone piled in with Jim slamming and locking the door afterwards.
"We made it," said Wade, sinking to the floor in relief.
"The smell is strongest here," said Shego.
"Ay lass, an' it's comin' fro' tha' direction," said Killigan.
"That's where the garage is," said Jim.
"Kim must have done whatever made this happen," said Tim.
"Yeah, we've been out of the house all day," said Jim.
"We better go and see what it is," said Monkey Fist but Hana started to cry at that moment.
"I'll take care of her, you go and see what's happened," said Maim and they obeyed.
"Oh my," said Shego, staring at the mess on the floor of the garage, the pink liquid all over it.
"Jim, Tim, help me get a sample of this stuff," said Wade.
"What is it Papa?" asked Takashi.
"Some sort of Love Potion I'm betting," said Monkey Fist.
"Where would Kimmie get the recipe for a love potion?" asked Shego.
"Her computer!" everyone said.
"I'll check her computer," said Shego and dashed off while the young teens gathered a sample of the potion and Monkey Fist, Killigan and Takashi cleaned up the rest of it and got rid of the smell with some strong air spray.
"So, what's the news?" asked Monkey Fist, coming into Kim's room where Shego was busy on her computer.
"It's not pretty," she said and showed him the email and recipe for the potion.
"This is serious, who in the world could know about Kimberly's current change in attitude, enough that they would know that Ronald is going to break up with her and enough to send her the recipe for a love potion?" asked Monkey Fist worriedly.
"I don't know but I have a gut feeling that whoever this person is, they are the one responsible for her mindset change. We'd better tell the others and get the tweebs to bug Kimmie's room so that we can keep an eye on her," said Shego.
"Good idea," Monkey Fist nodded and they went downstairs to tell everyone what they'd discovered.
"Woah, scary stuff," said Jim.
"If only we could get Kim's diary but she's locked us out with a new password and a firewall," said Tim.
"No problem guys, I can hack into it with one hand right now," said Wade, which he did.
"Ok, I'll read it," said Shego.
"Shego, why do you get to read it? She's our sister," said the twins together.
"Simple, I know where to start, what the important stuff is, you'd take a look at everything, it's bad enough we're doing this to her privacy as it is, even if it is so that we can find out what's wrong with her," said Shego and snatched the laptop away from them and began to scroll through the dates.
"Where are ye startin' lassie?" asked Killigan.
"The day Princess knocked Monty into the mountainside and left him there, that's the key date," she said and he nodded.
"Well we'll let you get on with that. Boys, how goes the analyzing of the potion?" asked Monkey Fist.
"It's done and I've got most of the ingredients for the antidote, I just need one more and then we're set," said Wade.
"Wow, these love potion ingredients are rare and hard to find," said Jim with wide eyes.
"Yeah and according to this list, she used up quite a few of her favors in order to get them," said Tim with equally wide eyes.
"It looks like I'm going to have to go back even further in Cupcake's diary," remarked Shego.
"Why do you say that?" asked Maim, coming in with Hana.
"She mentions dreams going on for several months, oh, here; she says that, 'Ever since that Halloween night when I had the Centurion Project on me I've had these dreams and I keep on hearing a strange voice in them.' I won't bore you with anything else, I'm going to go straight to the Halloween entry, please be quiet," said Shego and everyone was quiet.
"Guys, I've got the final ingredient," said Wade. Shego stopped and looked up, concentrating on what Wade was saying. "There are three ingredients, found in specific places in the world, the first is pewter and it's found in grout used only in stained-glass windows of the 18th century Church of England. The second is Ectoplasm/ghost mucus that's found in the Greece graveyards and the third one is Rose quartz which is mined in the Clora May Mine, Chafee County in Colorado," said Wade.
"Alright then, there are nine of us, so we'll split into three groups of three. One fighter, one genius and one other, Shego, Killigan and I will each lead a team. I pick Jim for my team," said Monkey Fist.
"I'll pick the laddie Wade, if ye do no' mind lass," said Killigan.
"I was going to go for the other twin anyway, that alright with you Tim?" she asked.
"Totally," he said.
"Dada, dada, dada!" said Hana, eagerly, squirming and trying to get to him.
"I think Hana has just volunteered to be my team's third partner, chuckled Monty, taking the baby from his mother.
"Mama, can I go with you?" asked Takashi hopefully.
"Sure thing kiddo," said Shego with smirk and Takashi smiled.
"Then Maim, ah hope you'll be fine wit' bein' on my team," said Killigan.
"Fine enough Killigan," said Maim, nodding her consent.
"I pick the Ectoplasm in Greece," said Shego.
"Good, I was going to pick the pewter in England anyway," said Monkey Fist.
"Then it's the Rose Quartz fer us in Colorado," said Killigan.
"One question, how are we going to get to these places?" asked Jim.
"Well, we'll be takin' ma blimp," said Killigan.
"The Golden Jet Cloud can hold up to three of us, so that's no problem," said Monkey Fist.
"Cool," said Jim.
"My hover board will get us anywhere," said Shego.
"Hicka Bicka Boo?" asked Jim.
"Hoosha!" said Tim.
"Ok, troops, let's move out," said Shego. They all went outside by the back door and Monkey Fist called the Jet Cloud, Shego popped a capsule and out came her hover board and Killigan used his remote to bring his Blimp to the Possible's garden.
"Alright, let's go," said Monkey Fist, slinging Hana around him and hopping on Jet Cloud, helping Jim up beside him.
"Righ' said Killigan, getting into his blimp with Wade and Maim.
"Take care," said Shego, jumping onto her board with Tim behind her. They all set off and soon separated, going in different directions. They were going to get rid of this accursed potion and return Middleton to normal, together.
