Phantom 2000 Part IV
Guess whose back!
Izulza is that's who!
Sorry everybody for disappearing like that, for what was it? 2 months? Wow! Let's just say I went through something that threw me off my beat & writing became impossible. But do not feel sorry for me because I am here now & feeling stronger for it!
Hopefully I can get back into regular updates, with all my stories! And for those of you waiting for the Epilogue of Angel's Vengeance, you will be happy to know that is half way complete along with an alternate ending! The Man in Hiding is also making excellent progress and both should be posted soon!
So enough of me babbling and making you all promises I do not know if I will be able to keep. I think is time for chapter 4.
On with the story!
Erik looked into her half closed eyes intently; they seemed to be staring back at him. Slowly he got off the bed and stretched; He felt amazing: satisfied, and victorious. With the snap of his fingers his clothes ravelled themselves back onto his body and he step in front of a full length mirror to adjust his cravat. The Opera Ghost chuckled at himself for forgetting he no longer had a reflection, "Well old boy," he spoke aloud to himself continuing to fix his neck tie anyway, "you were never fond of the damn thing anyway!"
Next to the large looking glass was a sort of dressing table with men's necessities on it and Erik noticed a pin with the De Chagny crest on. The vampire picked it up and inspected it, "What an ugly piece of shit! Still, it would serve as great reminder of this night." He walked over to the boy's body, from where he stood the Vicomte's face appeared untouched, but once Erik lifted his chin towards him you could see his entire right side of his face had been torn off right down to the bone. "Monsieur le Vicomte De Chagny…Raoul … you don't mind if I call you that, do you?" he spoke to the boy as if he could hear, "No, of you don't! After all, what do formalities matter to those who are dead, eh?" Erik patted his cheek rather hard and chuckled; "Now I was hoping you would allow me to take this God awful piece of jewellery as a trophy of my victory on this night?" The dead man said nothing, "Well then, stop me if you have a problem with it!" He then burst into a maniacal laughter and drop De Chagny's head so that his disfigured side would be seen.
Now finished with Raoul, the Phantom of the Opera strutted over to his Angel's peaceful form & looked right into her eyes again, "One more day, my darling," he kissed her still warm lips, "and then we more than just one lifetime!" Using his thumb and index finger he gently closed her eye lids, so that it appeared as if she were sleeping. Then out of nowhere he brought out his signature – a blood red rose with a black silk ribbon tied around its thornless stem – and placed it on her chest; then positioned her hands on top of it. Finally he took a white silk sheet and covered Christine from head to toe.
The Phantom of the Opera disappeared into the night.
The Époque
May 14 1871
De Chagny Manor Massacre
Last night at the De Chagny manor all of its occupants were found dead. Every staff member had his or her throat torn open.
The De Chagny family members had all been located outside their rooms; they had been strangled to death and were found hanging off their balconies.
All accept The Vicomte Raoul De Chagny and his new bride, Christine Daae a former star of the Opera Populair stage. The newlyweds were found in the master bedroom, the Vicomte's body had been found mutilated and almost unrecognizable, save for the left side of his face- this was the only way detectives were able to identify him.
However his young bride was discovered practically untouched. Police say that she was left nude and under a white sheet - supposedly by the killer. Autopsy suggests the Vicomtess had been violently raped, but her cause of death remains to be unknown. All that the coroner could reveal were two puncher wounds in the side of her neck the absence of the majority of her blood however lack of said blood was not present at the crime scene. The two opposing factors have rendered the late Vicomtess' cause of death unknown.
Detectives working the case suspect a man only known as the Phantom of the Opera whose previous known crimes have been linked to both Christine and Raoul. Be warned this man is highly dangerous and still at large.
If you see this man avoid him at all cost. He is a tall man in his mid-30's to early 40's. Witnesses report say that he has blondish hair, but may also be wearing a black wig. His distinguishing characteristics include a deformity on the right hand side of his, while the left was suggested to be attractive. He is also well versed in the ways of hypnosis using nothing but his voice.
Again we urge you to be aware especially at night and to alert the police if you spot this man…
Madame Giry dropped the paper. She couldn't read anymore, it was too much for her. Antoinette put her face in her hands as she cried for the Phantom and his soprano. Erik had been like a little brother to her from day one. He had been arrogant, overly demanding and troublesome, but he was always there for her and Meg, he had a good heart. Watching him spiral down a path of destruction had been absolute torture for her. She still could not get the image of him lying dead on his bed out of her mind. A little boy she once rescued now killed in a gruesome manner.
And Christine! Oh poor innocent, naïve & selfish Christine! The ballet mistress had raised her as if her own child. She and Meg had been the best of friends always: sharing secrets, being naughty, and always turning up late for class together. Now she was dead too. By some maniac who was either framing or avenging Erik.
All this was too much for her old heart. And soon she would have to tell Meg. There seemed to be no peace.
"Mama!"
"Not now Meg!" Madame Giry was not ready to face her daughter in such a state. She would not allow her only child to see her vulnerable.
"Mama, please come here!" she almost begged.
Antoinette could hear the fear in her daughter's voice, so she hurried off her bed into the living room where Meg stood dead still and pale. Madame Giry nearly screamed when she saw the Phantom of the Opera in the middle of the room.
Sooooooo do you guys hate me for disappearing for two months then just ending on a cliff hanger after the last chapter I killed off the last of your favourite characters?
No?
Excellent!
