Hello?
I know it's been a while. Like a veeeery long one and I'm sorry. I didn't abandon this story I just have so much to do right now, wish extended biology and stuff... And as I said in the previous AN, I kind of don't feel this story how I should do. Anyway, I tried my best.
I also have some good news here - I have a beta reader now. You can find her under the name .95. Thank you so much for your help with this! :)
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Thursday
Magnus put a finger on Alec's chin and leaned in, their lips lightly brushing. It was a slow, gentle kiss and he could feel the boy melt in his arms. Alec embraced his neck with his arms and pulled Magnus closer to which the other boy happily complied. Even if his boyfriend was unexperienced, he was trying his best and that was more than enough to send shivers down his spine.
When they finally parted, Alec's cheeks were absolutely red and he was breathing heavily, as if he had run a marathon. Even so, his eyes sparkled and Magnus had a feeling that he could easily get lost in their deep blue.
After that, they didn't kiss more. They simply walked along the Brooklyn Bridge, talking about unimportant things and just getting to know each other better. After some time, Alec had enough courage to take Magnus's hand in his. With each minute, he was feeling more at ease, smiling and laughing adorably.
The glittery student couldn't really tell the exact moment he fell for Alexander Lightwood but after parting ways with him that evening, he was sure that he would do anything to keep him as long as he could. He won't let him go after a week.
Unexpectedly, Magnus woke up early on Thursday, images of pretty blue eyes still hunting him after a very sexy dream about Alec in which the dark-haired boy was some kind of a special agent, hunting demons in leather gear.
He quickly took his phone and wrote a short "Good morning, sweet pea :*" which he sent to his boyfriend, smiling at the memory of their first phone talk and Alec threatening him with a pillow.
He didn't have to wait long for the response, although it didn't exactly look like he expected it to do.
"Mornin'. Sweet pea?"
"Just wanted to try it out ;) It suits u," Magnus replied.
"No," came Alec's quick response at which Bane laughed out loud, imagining Lightwood's face at the moment. It was early so he was probably still in bed, his eyes full of sleepiness. The boy was just too cute to be real.
"U prefer 'angel' then?"
"Yhm… Just Alec is enough."
"What about Alexander? ;)" Magnus really admired the sound of his boyfriend's full name.
"Just Alec, please."
"Uhh… You're no fun. :(" When he didn't get the reply after a minute, Magnus started to worry that his text could offend Alec in some way. Quickly, he wrote another one.
"Well, 'Just Alec'. CU at school?"
"Yeah. See you :)"
Magnus felt a surprising relief, seeing a smiley face in the end of Alec's message. The last thing he wanted was to destroy their relationship because of some stupid text.
With much better humour, he stood up and walked to the bathroom to get ready. He didn't remember ever feeling so excited to go to school as he was today.
Just as he walked into the school, he spotted Alec chatting with his sister. The boy looked happier than usual and his clothes were much more fashionable than his normal ones. He still wore black but his jeans had a nice, fitting shape and he had a black V-neck with an open shirt on it. There was even a simple, silver chain around his neck. Magnus supposed that Isabelle had something to do with that change. He needed to thank her later.
Not sure if Alec wanted to show off their relationship at school, he stood in his place, simply watching his black-haired angel. He would really want him to feel as comfortable with his sexuality as the day before but he decided not to push him to anything. If the prize was to keep the boy close, he was ready to wait. For now, he could always think about Lightwood's delicate lips on his when they were kissing on the bridge. And his gentle fingers, combing through his hair…
Lost in his thoughts, he didn't even realise when Alec approached him with a cute smile and small blush on his cheeks.
"Hi," said the blue-eyed student, pulling Magnus out of his daydream.
"Hello, darling. I was just thinking about you," Magnus answered and his boyfriend flushed even more.
"Uhm… How are you?"
"Perfect. I had a very sexy dream about my very sexy boyfriend," the cat-eyed student grinned when Alec looked at him with shock. "What? I hope you know that I find you sexy? I have already told you you're my type."
Lightwood stuttered something quietly, looking everywhere but at Magnus. The glittery student started to worry if his words weren't a little bit too much for the poor, closeted boy but just as he was about to apologize, Alec surprised him again:
"Wouldyouliketoeatlunchwithme?" he said quickly under his breath and all Bane could do was ask:
"Pardon?"
"I-I asked if you… if you would like to eat lunch with me today. W-we can meet by that tree where we talked yesterday." Alec finally managed to say, looking insecure.
Not wanting to add to the blue-eyed boy's self-consciousness, the glittery student replied immediately:
"I'd love to," he smiled and, after checking the surroundings for some intruders (fortunaltely he didn't find any), he gave his boyfriend a little peck on the cheek. "See you later, then!" he added and started walking to his next class, humming silently out of tune.
He couldn't see that Alec stood frozen for a while, his fingers brushing lightly the place where Magnus's lips touched his flushed skin, a little smile appearing on his lips.
A few hours later, just as planned, they were sitting together on the grass and enjoying the nice weather. Well, technically Magnus wasn't sitting – he was almost lying on the ground with his head rested on his backpack. Alec was just next to him, currently feeding his boyfriend with home-made cookies.
"They are really delicious," Magnus said, taking another cookie from the bag. "Did Isabelle bake them?"
"No!" Alec said immediately with fear showing in his eyes. "Angel no. If Izzy made them, we would probably be dead by now," he explained, his tone serious. "Clary made them for us. You remember her, don't you? She said you used to date in May or something."
Magnus remained silent for a while, trying to remember dating somebody with that name. There were so many girls he dated that sometimes he mistook their names. But Clary he remembered. The girl was cute with her short height and attitude as fiery as her red hair. She was a nice girl but they just didn't match as a couple. They didn't even kiss. He couldn't find a right moment to do so.
"Yes, I guess we might have dated once," he answered Alec's question, not really wanting to dwell on a subject.
"Do you still keep in touch with her?" Lightwood asked casually, taking another cookie.
"No, I never do that," Magnus said, feeling uncomfortable with the topic. Why was Alec asking about that?
"And don't they try to call you or something?"
"They probably do," the glittery student shrugged "but I never answer calls from unknown numbers."
At these words, Alec looked at his boyfriend with wide eyes.
"So you… delete the numbers after the breakup? Every single one?"
"Yes. I don't see a point in keeping them," Magnus didn't understand the disappointed look on Alec's face. Would he want him to call his exes all the time?
„So on Sunday you're going to delete my number too?" Lightwood asked silently.
Magnus immediately sat up and looked at his boyfriend. He wanted to tell him that he was not playing any stupid game where he had to cancel the relationship on Sunday but just then his phone started to buzz. Annoyed by the stupid device, he picked it up with a sigh and only lightened up a bit when he recognized the caller's ID picture.
"Hi, Cam. Why are you calling? You know I'm at school now," he said, wondering what the girl might want from him. She was supposed to spend more time with Ralph to recompense him for her absence in the previous weeks (mostly for dates with him but nobody had to know that).
"You won't believe it!" Camille complained so loudly that Alec could probably hear her every word. "Ralph doesn't want to speak to me at all! He's still angry at me for that one time!"
"Camille," Magnus rolled his eyes, shifting away from his boyfriend "we both know it wasn't just one fling. And have you at least apologized to him? It's about time."
"I'm not going to apologize for something I don't regret!" The girl said stubbornly. "And if he wants to be with me, he should just leave it as it is."
"You were the one to cheat on him," Magnus closed his eyes, trying not to feel the ghost of Camille's hands on his body.
"It's not my fault that you are sexy," she said seductively and suddenly changed her tone. "By the way, when are you going to break up with the poor girl and come back to me? I miss you." Even through the phone, he could imagine the fake pout on her face.
Although, even if he was getting more and more annoyed, her words reminded him of Alec. He suddenly felt bad for leaving him in the middle of conversation. He turned around to the place where they were sitting just a while ago and realized that Alec was nowhere to be seen.
"Magnus? Honey, say something!" Camille demanded from the other side but the student had already hung up.
He crossed the crowded corridor, looking for his boyfriend. He couldn't understand his behaviour. Yesterday they had been kissing, earlier he even allowed him to kiss him on the cheek and now he just disappeared?
Yes, it might have been rude to answer Camille's call during their conversation but it didn't mean that Alec had to leave him there, even if the atmosphere before it was quite uncomfortable.
Just as he was about to go and try to find Alec around English classroom, the school bell rang, signalizing the end of their lunchbreak. Magnus cursed silently, feeling that it was not a lucky day for him.
If there was one place at school where Alec would definitely show up, it was the archery training field. The practise was an important part of his life since he had opportunities to become one of the best archers in the whole country. His arrows almost never missed the aim and the bow seemed to be attached to him like the additional limb.
Magnus was right. When he changed into his sports uniform and came to the field, Lightwood was already there, shooting arrow after arrow. What surprised him was the fact that his score was much worse than the usual. Of course, an amateur would be very pleased with the amount of eights and sevens but for a champion like Alec, it was a total slump.
When the last arrow from the quiver hit the aim at six, the blue-eyed boy shook his head in annoyance and gave his training bow to some younger student. The coach didn't say anything, probably understanding that his champion was just having a bad day.
Magnus decided to take the opportunity to talk with his boyfriend.
"Alec! Alec, wait!" he shouted, running after the archer. Alec stopped and turned around, a slight surprise showing off on his face. "What's wrong? Why did you leave?" Magnus asked.
"I kind of… I didn't want to interrupt the talk with your girlfriend," the boy answered in a dull voice. His eyes were covered by his hair so Magnus couldn't really see his expression.
"My… what? Alec, Camille is not my girlfriend!"
"But she used to be?" A sudden courage made Alec straighten and look up. "You said you delete all of the numbers of girls who liked you but you didn't delete the one of the girl you actually like. Don't you think it's kind of unfair?"
"Alexander…" Magnus couldn't stand the hurt in Lightwood's eyes so he grabbed his hand and pulled him to the cloakroom, closing the door behind them. "Alec, Camille is my flatmate's girlfriend. And I'm not dating her. It's you I'm…" he couldn't finish the sentence because of his phone buzzing again. Seriously, it was a very bad day for phone calls.
With question in his eyes, he looked at Alec, asking silently for permission. When the boy shrugged, he unlocked the screen and answered the phone.
"Finally!" Camille said, sounding very mad. "Why did you hang up all of a sudden? I was just-"
"I'm sorry, Cam, but it's a bad moment," Magnus said seriously. His eyes were fixed on Alec, whose eyebrows were frowned in confusion.
"What do you mean by that? I love you, Magnus!"
"I mean that I like you Cam. I really do. But I…" he looked Alec in the eyes and smiled. "I think I've found somebody whom I like more than you."
"What? You-"
"Goodbye, Camille," he ended the call.
Alec stayed there with wide eyes and slightly open mouth. He still couldn't believe what had just happened.
"So… we're not over?" he asked quietly, as if afraid of the answer.
Magnus laughed and pulled the boy closer, catching him in a tight embrace.
"I wouldn't dream of it," he said and kissed the top of Alec's head. For the first time, he felt that he might have finally found the right one.
I know it's not that long but I still hope you liked it. Thank you for sticking up with this story!
