Jade pulled her car into the Tori's driveway, getting out after putting it into park and opening the door for the singer. Tori smiled as she climbed out of the car and headed inside her house, the thespian following behind her and grabbing the front door before she could. After a playful glaring contest, the two grinned and walked inside to see the Vega parents sitting on the couch and watching the evening news. Hearing the front door open David Vega looked up and saw his youngest daughter walk in with Jade, the two of them poking fun at each other over an apparent ice cream incident that had happened on the way back.

"Just admit that you purposely took that road to make me spill my ice cream," Tori ordered, Jade merely smirking in response.

"You wound me Vega, insisting that I would do anything to cause you to be embarrassed," Jade chuckled, her eyes shining in playful evil, "besides we got you cleaned up."

"Only after I had you pull over and got you to stop laughing," Tori huffed, "that dairy treat got everywhere and I had just washed my clothes."

"Alright alright calm down Tori," Jade conceded with a smile, "I'm sorry for doing that but to be honest it was all in good fun."

"Thank you for apologizing,"

Mr and Mrs. Vega looked at each other, Holly merely shrugging before setting down the book she was reading as David cleared his throat.

"So girls how did the interview go?" he asked with smile.

Tori smiled back at him and walked over to the couch before sitting down, Jade following her and sat next to the half Latina before propping her boot clad feet up on the table. This earned her a glare from the elder Vega woman, making her quickly place her feet back on the floor and cough embarrassed before replying to the previous question.

"It went...well, learned a few things about the experiment and told her we were interested in helping so all we have to do now is wait for her decision."

"Oh, and did she give you an idea of when she would have chosen?" Holly asked with a soft smile, picking up her cup of tea.

"She said by the end of next week, so hopefully we'll find out if she chose us next Friday," Tori answered biting her lower lip.

Holly noticed this and frowned a bit before looking over at her husband, David looking just as confused as she was. Jade also took notice of this and placed her hand on Tori's knee, giving it a gentle squeeze and watched as the singer looked at her and smiled back before taking Jade's hand in her's.

"So what do you two have planned for the night?" Mrs. Vega asked changing the subject, "Tori said you had a date tonight so where are you taking our daughter."

"Oh um, I'm taking her out to dinner and then to the pier for a little while," Jade explained with a sheepish grin, "it's about to close down until next summer so I thought it would be fun to go at least one more time."

"Sounds great," Tori stated happily, "I guess I'll go upstairs and get ready then."

"Yeah, I'll be back in about an hour to pick you up and we can get the date started," Jade said standing up.

"Allow me to walk you out Jade," David grunted as he stood up as well.

"Papá?" Tori questioned as David walked over to Jade.

"What I just need to stretch out a bit," he replied with a sly grin, "I can't help it if this is the perfect opportunity to talk to Jade at the sametime."

"David," Holly teased, her husband still grinning.

"Don't worry I won't do anything to hurt her," he reassured them as he motioned Jade to the front door, "I'll be back in just a moment."

Jade gulped as they walked outside the Vega house, her heart rate rising with each paid second. She would never admit it but the Vega parents scared her, Mrs. Vega more then her husband. She wasn't sure what it was about the older woman but just one of her 'don't even think of messing with me or my family' looks was enough to make her rethink doing anything at that house while she was there. Mr. Vega was another story, she wasn't so much afraid of him since she knew he wouldn't do anything to her, but there was something about him being a police officer that made her watch her step, though in a less serious way then around his wife.

"Tell me Jade," David ordered as they walked to get car, "why did you ask my daughter to perform this experiment with you?"

Jade froze in place as she listened to his question, all of her muscles refusing to move and her blood freezing. Turning back to her friend's father she couldn't help but noticed the steely gaze he had fixed on her, one that told her that one wrong answer might be the end of the line. Gulping, the thespian took a deep breath and prayed that she wouldn't be finding herself in a jail cell soon.

"Well um, you see the reason I uh, the reason I picked Tori was because," she stammered not sure what to say, "well we both thought that a scholarship would be something good to have under our belts so that you two and my parents wouldn't have to pay for college."

"Right, so now that we have lying out of the way do you want to tell me the truth?"

This caused Jade's eyes to widen in shock as she looked at Tori's father, a lump now forming in her throat. Her mind was racing as she tried to think of something to say to him, tried to think of away out of her predicament, but she knew that if this was going to continue, this experiment and her having a child with his daughter, then she would have to tell him the truth.

"I...look I'm not good at things like this okay so forgive me if I'm a little...hesitant to tell you," she groaned looking away from the police officer, "I haven't even told Tori this."

"You have my word that I won't tell her anything you tell me," David promised with a curt nod, "unless I think it's something she needs to know that it."

"Right then, I've already given Tori my reason as to why I chose her instead of someone else so if you want to know that you can ask her," Jade informed him, "but I suppose there is a another reason as to why I wanted her to do this experiment with me."

Jade glanced back over at Tori's father and noticed him now leaning against her car, on the driver side door, effectively blocking her quickest escape route. Seeing him give her a nod of encouragement she took another deep breath and continued her explanation.

"Tori is...a great person, one of the greatest people I know and one of the most caring people I know."

"She gets that from her mother she does," David chuckled shaking his head.

"Figured she'd getting from somewhere," Jade laughed, "all she ever wanted from me was to be my friend and all I ever did was treat her horribly, but she never let that sway her from her goal."

David smirked at this, knowing very well that once his youngest daughter put her mind to something that she wouldn't stop until she managed to get it, and she always had set her heart to do the right thing.

"Back then, back when I dated Beck, if something went wrong I would always turn to her for help, knowing that she would help me regardless of how I treated her," she continued looking up at the sky and watching a few of the birds fly by, "I never thought that our...relationship would turn to this, that we would be considering having a child together, and I could go on about her oddly enough but I have to get home and get ready to come back here and pick her up."

"So tell me why you really wanted her to do this with you?" Mr. Vega asked once more.

"I've read Tori's diary before," Jade admitted with a shrug ignoring David's quizzical stare, "and one of the things that she wanted besides becoming a famous singer was to become a mother, that's something I didn't tell her though I feel like she knows that I read her diary."

"More than likely."

"That was a reason that I thought of after asking her, that's kind of why I was hoping she would say yes, because I wanted to help her with at least that goal," Jade sighed shoving her hands into her pockets.

David nodded in understanding, Tori had came out to her family and friends as gay during the past summer. This had shocked them a bit, none of them ever even thinking that Tori would like those of the same sex, but Jade and Cat were quick to step to her side in the event, Cat being bisexual and Jade not caring if they were boy or girl, if she like them then she would date them. Jade recalled what had happened after Tori had questioned her and accepted her offer, the thespian going over and adding to the list as to why she had chosen the half Latina.

"Tori had came out as gay not long before I had asked her," Jade explained biting her lower lip, "and even though I know she would never overlook the idea of adopting a child…"

"She had always wanted to feel the joy of giving birth to her own child," David concluded with a nod, "now I see where you're coming from Jade, but allow me one more question."

"Do I really have a choice?"

"Not really no," David smirked, "what are you going to do if you're chosen, if you and Tori do have a child together?"

"If you're asking me if I'm going to just up and leave her then the answer to that is no," Jade replied turning her gaze to him, "if we get chosen to do this experiment, and if we do have a child together, then I will stay with Tori for as long as she will have me, and if that means I marry her then so be it."

"But is that what you want to happen?" David asked tilting his head to the side.

"If you were to ask me that when I was younger then I would have said 'oh fuck no'," the thespian commented with a shrug, "but I like Tori, and I wouldn't be opposed to staying with her for the rest of my life."

"So you're saying that you love her?"

"I'm not saying that I love her, I like her and maybe at some point I'll even say I love her," Jade retorted, her voice as sharp as the scissors she carried, "Tori possesses a lot of the virtues that I look for in a lover, maybe she's the one that my life has been leading me to."

David smiled softly as he shook his head, pushing himself off the car so that Jade could leave and get ready for her date. Walking back to the front door of his house he heard her car start up and pull out of the driveway, glancing back enough to watch it go down the road. Meanwhile inside the Vega household Tori and her mother were upstairs in her room, Holly running a brush through Tori's hair as her daughter attempts to put on what makeup she felt she would need. Set out on her bed was her outfit for the night, a simple purple blouse with some khakis and a pair of flats, all the while she hummed softly as her mother put down the brush and started to braid her hair.

"Do you think I should put on some more makeup besides eyeliner and lip gloss?" Tori asked as she checked herself in the mirror.

"You look fine Tori," her mother assured her with a smile, "I'm sure Jade will find you attractive no matter what."

Tori smiled and grabbed her clothes, slipping out of the outfit she was currently wearing and putting them on while her mother put away her makeup and hair products. As she closed the drawer to Tori's vanity and looked at the mirror to see that her daughter was all dressed and smiling with her normal smile. However it was her mother's intuition that noticed the excitement in her youngest child's eyes and a feeling of unease settled on her heart.

"Tori, I have to ask," Mrs. Vega said hesitantly, "are you doing this for a particular reason besides getting the scholarship?"

Tori blinked a few times in confusion, trying to process what exactly her mother was asking her before blushing bright red.

"Of course not mom I just…"

"Want to impress Jade," she pointed out with a knowing smirk, "I've seen the way you look at her Tori, even before you came out to us I knew she was someone special to you."

Tori's blush grew to cover her entire face as she spun around to face her back to her mother, biting her lower lip. She wasn't lying when she said that Tori had always thought of Jade as someone special and in fact she had began to have feelings for her during their junior year, but because she was dating Beck she kept them to herself. She was also always happy to help Jade with problems, though the thespian would always be hesitant to come to her with them, especially after Beck's accident.

"I'll admit that I might possibly have another reason for doing this," Tori admitted twiddling her thumbs, "but I really would like that scholarship."

"I know you do honey," Holly said hugging her, "but what's going to happen if you get pregnant and things don't work out between you and Jade?"

"Mom you're talking like we're already dating," Tori pointed out, her blush returning in full force, "and to answer your question I don't know, I haven't talk to her about it but I'm sure that it's something we'll talk about it if we're chosen."

Holly nodded and watched as her youngest daughter walked over to her full length mirror to double check her appearance. David walked up the stairs and looked into his daughter's room he smiles as he saw his daughter and walked inside, taking his place next to her and wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

"You look amazing Tori," he told her with a smile.

"Thanks dad," she replied hugging him, "so you didn't arrest her did you?"

"Nah, she's probably at her place right now getting ready to head back here," David said patting her head, "just promise me something okay kid?"

"Sure what's up?"

"I want you to make sure that you think things through okay," he said, Tori frowning in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Tori asked suddenly concerned.

"What I mean is that if you feel there is something wrong then you talk about it with Jade, communication is the key in a relationship," David explained placing his hand on her shoulder, "mostly I want you to make sure that this is what you want okay Tori?"

Tori nodded and gave her father, letting him go when she heard the doorbell go off and opened it to see Jade standing there smirking. In a matter of an hour and a half, Tori still couldn't believe it's been that long, she had changed out of her clothes and switched into a pair of tan shorts with a red undershirt and black short sleeve over shirt. Tori could noticed that her hair was also done up a bit, her hair's natural curl now had a bit of glitter in it which allowed it to sparkle a little bit even in the low lights of the house.

"You look good," Jade complimented as she looked over the singer.

"Thanks, you look good as well," Tori said smiling brightly before grabbing her purse, "you ready to go?"

"Just waiting on you."

Tori chuckled and told her parents goodbye, her parents giving the normal parents response of 'see you later' and 'be safe.' Walking to the car Jade opened the door for Tori and closed it after the half Latina got in. As she walked over to her side of the car and got in the thespian noticed the singer's goofy smile and couldn't help the smile growing on her own face as well. Pulling out of the driveway she started off towards the first part of their date, ready to start a night of fun.
