The Kuchiki Manor seemed much larger to Hisana than she remembered. As she, Byakuya and Rukia walked toward the main entrance, the doors seemed to be imposing and threatening, as if she were entering a military compound and not a home. The place was still immaculate, with white walls and strategically placed plants. Several high lords, ladies, elders, maids and soul reapers walked about the house, so despite the coldness, the manor was filled with life.

Hisana was dressed in a simple cream yukata, nothing like the finery she used to wear when she lived there before. Rukia bid them a quick goodbye, as she was called away for work, but promised to speak with Hisana later that evening.

Before she knew it, Byakuya had led her discretely back to their chambers, far from the bustling noise of the manor proper. The room had not changed, as their spacious antechamber still held plush sofas, a fire pit and tall bookcases. Off of that room was where they slept, there was still a large bed in the center of the room, with fine silk drapes around the bed and a large crystal vanity on the wall across from the bed. To the right of the bed, there was a door that led out to their own private garden. The room was beautiful, but lacked the life that she saw in the rest of the house.

"You haven't slept here in years, have you?" she asked him. Byakuya looked past her and shook his head. Hisana looked at him sadly, then, without much thought, tossed herself onto the bed childishly.

She rolled in the blankets and laughed, feeling so very at home. Before she could beckon Byakuya to come and join her, she felt his lips capture her own passionately. She quickly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him deeper into the kiss. She felt him lift her up into a sitting position, then pulled away to look at her adoringly. She smiled at him and caressed his face. He kissed her palm gently and offered her a small smile before pressing his lips to her neck.

Hisana sighed before bringing his lips back to hers. "Let me," she breathed between kisses. She trailed her own kisses, along his jaw, up to the curve of his ear and down the side of his neck. She felt his pulse quicken against her lips and heard him groan softly. Her small hands worked to open the front of his robes and have better access to his chest, where she continued her kisses.

"Hisana," he whispered. She stopped and looked at him lovingly as he untangled himself from her grip and stood. He placed his zanpakuto against the side of her bed and swiftly removed the rest of his clothing. Hisana felt her cheeks heat up looking at him. Byakuya embraced her and kissed her once more hungrily. She felt his tongue explore her thoroughly and his hands pulling at the obi around her waist.

Before her eyes, her gown was off in a flourish and goose-prickles and a blush erupted on her arms and cheeks. She was in another world, in which all she could feels was skilled hands and lips worship her body. Her own actions were nearly out of her control, as she softly dragged her nails down his back and arms.

Byakuya buried himself inside of her with a soft grunt and Hisana gasped in slight surprise. His thrusts were quick and precise, so Hisana wrapped his legs around his hips just to keep this connection. She does not know how long he made her feel so perfect, but she did know that the moment ended far too quickly, If she could, she would have stayed with him in this embrace eternally.

All too soon, she reached her peak, clinging to the warmth of his body and crying out his name. She heard him sigh her name into her ear as he came from his high and rested his head on her breasts. Byakuya made to move away from her, but Hisana held him to her, not minding the feeling of his body on hers. Eventually, sleep took the both of them, and she didn't wake until the setting sun shined through, painting the room red.

Despite being lady of the house for many years, Hisana had never been inside of the Kuchiki Elders' counselling room until her first day back. After she and Byakuya woke from their nap, he received word that the Elders wanted to speak to the both of them before dinner. Byakuya dressed quickly and swept out of their room, sending maids to help Hisana dress. All of her old clothes were well maintained despite that they hadn't been worn in decades.

She was dressed elegantly in a dark blue kimono with long, elaborate sleeves. The maid perfumed her lightly and applied a small bit of red paint to her lips. Her hair was pulled back into a neat bun and kept in place by a pretty blue comb.

When she was ready, Hisana and the maid, who was named Mariko, walked the long distance to the Elders' room, where Byakuya was there to kiss her and escort her inside.

The room was frighteningly massive, as each of the Elders had a seat on a pedestal several feet above whoever they spoke down to. Each of the Elder introduced themselves, as some people she had known were long since dead and there were new men appointed to help Byakuya run the household. Ginrei sat in the middle of them, his eyes still cold and dark.

Ginrei looked directly at Hisana, who dropped into a low bow. Ginrei cleared his throat before saying, "When Byakuya told us that you were to be returning, we were... most excited." Hisana looked up at him in shock; she thought that he hated her, though even if he did, he wouldn't dare disrespect her in front of Byakuya.

"Our family is renowned for our political power, immense wealth and exceptional warriors. Unfortunately, since we've been without a lady of the house for some time, we have lost our touch at refinement and hospitality. We expect that you will due your duties and run the house as many Ladies have before you," he finished.

Hisana kept his gaze steadily. "I will do all I can to bring honor to this family, though I might need a little bit of time. I need to get reacquainted to my responsibilities."

Ginrei scowled a bit. "Take all the time you need. And in the meanwhile, remember that you and Lord Kuchiki are not as young as you used to be. He has the responsibilities of a Captain now. He needs an heir to this household, in case of any emergency. Consider that your main responsibility."

Hisana flushed a deep red. She had expected them to pressure her about their lack of children, as they talked to her about children long ago. But now, as they said, Byakuya could be hurt because of his Captain's work at any time. The family would never recognize Rukia or Hisana as a true heir, especially if Byakuya wasn't around to endorse what he wanted.

Ginrei stood abruptly and said, "Well, I think that's all we need to discuss tonight. Shall we all go to dinner, Lord Kuchiki?"

As Byakuya helped Hisana to her feet, he gave her a triumphant smirk that only she could see.

"Yes, Grandfather, we shall."
