Hey guys! Sorry fort he long wait but here it is! FINALLY!
Please Enjoy :)

Makai had not known true wrath till their Lord was trifled with in his personal affairs. While peace remained, the demons and occasional humans feared for their lives. Three centuries passed and still none had appeased their Lords anger, and the only one that could was forbidden to grace their Lord's presence; the other, his companion for centuries was only able to hold back his insanity. So you could imagine their surprise when they heard the news that hushed into their ears- their Lord was preparing to take mate, and not just any mate, the Shikon Miko, a Pureblood vampire.

She could save them all.

They could only hope, though. The council had become problematic when Sesshomaru had completed a blood bond tying Rin's life span to his own. But they took a step further and crossed their limit when the council stated their Lord's interaction with his grown and very womanly ward, Rin, to be inappropriate. Now that, that very restriction, had signed them all their death warrants. Lord of the West, Great Dog Demon, had come too close to ripping off the heads that made the council.

Unlike popular belief, or to what Sesshomaru had leaded the others to believe, he wasn't ignorant. He knew of the threats that risked Rin's life. While he was so sure and confident that no one would dare to cross him and take what was his, he didn't let that confidence get the best of him. There were times where his presence wasn't always with Rin, so he took the alternative and chose to follow through with the Council. That was the original plan. Centuries passed and the plan formed into something else.

Kagome.

Her entrance wasn't too much of a hindrance. With her being betrothed to him, and accepted by council, this allowed him to drag out the actual mating. However, he suspected a plan developing between his Rin and Kagome. There had to be, because it explained why Kagome was ready to sacrifice herself to a life long mating where she would steer clear after giving him an heir and let Rin take over. Foolish Miko. It was so like her to do things like that without thinking. Even though Rin had a different idea than what Kagome interpreted, Kagome threw reasoning out and crashed through the window.

But then Rin was harmed.

And Sesshomaru's resolve trembled.

Since then he had made it sure to avoid Rin, to deny her love, his love, anything either than that she was a mere member of his pack. The council, overjoyed, supported him in everyway. He only took comfort in knowing that Kagome was there to protect Rin and in every step of the way, she helped her cope.

He bristled into his office leaving a havoc of emotions of his demon employees in his wake.

"Yuki," he commanded, his tone edged with anger. "Contact the miko at once!"

"Yes, Sesshomaru-sama."

The phone rang twice before Kagome answered.

"Hello?"

"Kagome-sama, Yuki speaking, Sesshomaru-sama has asked for you." Yuki heard a sigh and bit her lip praying Kagome wouldn't deny.

"Put him through."

"Of course, Kagome-sama."

Said woman didn't have to wait too long before a familiar voice pressed through the phone.

"Miko."

"Sesshomaru, you asked for me?"

"You did not inform this one that one of your previous proposals reside in that academy."

"Previous proposal? Kuran? But you knew that."

"Ichijo Takuma."

The silence that followed only proved to irritate Sesshomaru more.

"Oh…I did not know that."

"Hn."

"Asato didn't come prowling in with a challenge for my hand…did he?" Kagome whispered, almost afraid to ask. But the silence that followed seemed to have confirmed her answer. She continued.

"I know by youkai law you have the right to behead the bastard, but let me talk to Takuma first. We can't have another vampire's blood on our hands. Ahh, this is too troublesome."

"This Sesshomaru will relent for now. Be warned, if he disrespects my court and my power once more, I will take action, despite your own laws."

Sesshomaru could almost taste the bitterness that rolled off Kagome through the phone. He knew of her dislike towards Vampire laws. It was unjust and forceful.

"I will fix this. So, how are you? Faring well?"

"Hn."

"Back to that, are we?" she teased and then settled to a solemn silence. "Zero, the vampire I told you about, he reminds me of him. Same temper, but not as crude, rather brash at times, but not. He's nice. I can feel his aura, it so dark, Sesshomaru, and he hides it all away. I just hope he's not groveling over a dead lover too." Her laugh didn't seem as light as it usually was.

Sesshomaru looked out the to the skyscrapers. From his office he could overlook Tokyo, the bustling streets over populated by humans and disguised youkais. Listening to Kagome trail off, he couldn't help but remember Inuyasha. While the animosity between them didn't reside, they had calmed down some. His death was peaceful, following after the human mate he took in. Their line of children and grandchildren still lived. At Kagome's behest, and his honor, he took care of them all and employed them into his thriving business.

"If I were to have a family like Inuyasha…" His mind wondered, producing an image of his ward. Cursing himself at the lack of discipline, he went back to giving his attention to Kagome.

"Do what you have to and return quick. This Sesshomaru will not have you arriving late for our ceremony."

"There has to be something."

He didn't wait for her to continue. Hanging up, Sesshomaru looked back out to the busy city, his mind wandering yet again.

XxxxxXxxxxX

Sighing, Kagome felt old, very, very old.

"Stupid aristocrats. Meddling in where they're not wanted. Fucking ichojo." Grumbling out of bed, a very irritated Kagome dragged herself to her morning routine.

An hour later, she was dressed and ready, scowl in place, eyes narrowed to slits and her way towards the hellhole dorm to find her 'beloved' Ichojo Takuma. She had nothing against the vampire, really, but all this youkai-vampire crossover of politics, especially concerning his asshole of a grandfather, every step she took had her drowning in more anger.

Snorting at the guarded gate, Kagome ignored the oblivious watchman and leaped over effortlessly.

"Fools," she hissed. "A bunch of fools they all are."

The entrance door to the dorms opened before she could knock.

Red-brown met azure.

Kaname hid his distaste well, still annoyed from the previous night.

"Why are you here?"

"Ichijou Takuma."

And that name alone was enough to have his stomach burn in fury. His confusion towards his reaction only helped to fuel the fire. And the fact Kagome looked slightly smug despite her riled expression, didn't exactly help either.

"Why?" Kaname bristled at himself. The word slipped before he was even aware of it. He was supposed to deny her. To tell her to follow protocol and take it up to the headmaster instead of barging into their territory. And why wasn't the watchman groveling to him about an intruder?

Kagome snickered, trying not to let his burning gaze bother her too much. "It is a personal affair, so if you would please send for him."

The Kuran pureblood suspected what exactly that affair was. If Takuma's reaction to her being here were anything to go by, he would have to take a strong guess that Asato was already at work.

Frisky bastard.

His lips thinned. "As a guest to this academy, you have already broken ground rules by coming here. The headmaster should be in-" he would have continued if he were not rudely Interrupted.

"Kagome-sama!" Said woman looked passed Kagome to a familiar kind face. All animosity drained away, she smiled.

"Takuma, handsome as ever."
