Miss Me? Chapter 4
Kendrix never felt so dirty in her life and in saying that she slowly began to shut out the world around her. She felt so filthy inside and out no matter how many times she washed herself it was still the same. Kendrix also felt humiliated who wouldn't and she also felt ashamed. Kendrix didn't even know who to turn to. So she also began to put on a fake mask on to fool people about how she really felt. But their were some people that Kendrix couldn't fool and they were her friends Maya, Mike, Kai, Damon and Karone.
Yes Kendrix knew she could count on them; but she was afraid that they might laugh at her; and shun her; and probably never speak to her again. Another thing that made Kendrix rather fearful was that if she told her friends how would Mike take it that it was his own younger brother who raped her he'd be furious that's ,Kai, Damon and Karone knew something was up but decided to give Kendrix her space; because they knew she'd tell them when she was ready. Mike however was a different story compare to Maya,Damon, Kai and Karone Mike Corbett was more observant he noticed Kendrix closing herself off from her friends and the world around her in general. But everytime Mike pressed Kendrix for information about what was really going on. Kendrix would tell him not to worry or she'd simply change the subject much to Mike's utter dismay.
Kendrix was withholding information from him and Mike was determined to get to the bottom of it no matter how long it thing that struck Mike a little odd was that he didn't see much of Leo around and wondered why that in the medbay everything was as normal as normal could get Alpha scurried around making sure everything was in order. Everything was in order until a groan could be heard from one of the beds in the medbay. This caused Alpha to stop dead in his tracks as he watched said figure sit up. Rushing over to the figure in question Alpha said "Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi Carter your awake how do you feel?"
Clutching his head in his hands Carter said "augh my aching head!" as he came to. Once his vision came back into focus Carter was shocked to see a robot staring back at him. Still in shock Carter said "Who are you?" "The names Alpha Carter please to meet you" Alpha said. "Same to you oh and by the way Alpha how did you know my name?" Carter asked Alpha. "I know your name from Kendrix of course she's talked about you a lot nonstop.
Plus she's been in here nearly everyday to see you since you were in your coma" Alpha replied. Carter was shocked he knew how much Kendrix loved him but he didn't think that she'd be constantly by his side while he was out for the count. Carter watched as Alpha hurried away "Where are you going Alpha?" Carter asked the robot. "To tell Kendrix your awake of course" Alpha said. "Alpha please don't tell her I am awake let's surprise her instead" Carter told Alpha. Alpha however reluctantly agreed at sometime a little after six o'clock Kendrix arrived at the medbay as usual and saw Carter laying on the gurney.
Sitting down next to Carter's bedside Kendrix she was completely unaware that he was already awake. Looking at Carter's still form clutching his hand in hers Kendrix's said "Please Carter wake up soon I need you!" As she said that Kendrix could hear her voice crack; "Well what if I told you that I was already awake" a very familiar voice from the gurney said. That alone was enough to make Kendrix jump as she narrowed her eyes at said gurney. Cracking open an eye Carter saw his relieved yet angry girlfriend staring down at him."How long have you been awake mister" Kendrix said somewhat angrily.
Carter didn't get a chance to respond. Before Alpha said "He's been awake since four Kendrix." Looking at Alpha Kendrix said "Alpha I thought I told you to contact me when Carter awoke!" "I wanted to Kendrix" Alpha started to say before looking at Carter and adding "Carter here said he wanted to surprise you." Looking at Carter who was now grinning at her sheepishly Kendrix said "I think you mean more like scare me!" Kendrix then proceed to slap Carter in the chest making him grunt. "Oww Kendrix that hurt" Carter mockly groaned as he looked at his girlfriend all the while placing one of his hands over his heart.
"Oh my poor baby" Kendrix said "I didn't think I hurt you that much" Kendrix then kissed Carter on the lips. Kendrix felt Carter smile into the kiss the only thought running through Kendrix's mind was "Cheeky bastard." After breaking the kiss for some much needed air Kendrix said "I made you something are you hungry?" Carter looked at his girlfriend then at the food and said with a raised eyebrow "You can cook?" Kendrix let out a huff but decided to play along said "Well do you want it or not!?" Kendrix watched as Carter shrugged his shoulders and said "Well it's better that nothing plus I am in the right place if anything goes wrong."
"Here you go you cheeky bastard" Kendrix said to her smirking boyfriend as she gave him the food. Swallowing a mouthful of food Carter looked at Kendrix and said "I am sorry I didn't quite catch that what was that again?" Shaking her head Kendrix watch as Carter placed his now empty plate by his bedside table. Then without warning wrapped an arm and tugged Kendrix into his waiting arms. Kendrix braced herself against Carter's chest as he said "Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?" Laughing not missing a beat Kendrix said looking into Carter's eyes "You've told me many times Carter."
"Well let me prove it too you once again" was all Carter said as he closed the gap in between them; with a sweet and loving yet passionate kiss. It was so passionate that it caused Kendrix to moan the pair also failed to noticed that they were the only ones in the room. When suddenly the medbay doors swished opened and a voice said "Oh Kendrix I am so glad I found you. Oh am I interrupting something? I can come back later like tomorrow if that suits you." Both Carter and Kendrix looked in the direction and saw that it was Mike Corbett despite still being somewhat embarrassed after being caught in a passionate kiss.
"Do you need something Mike?" Kendrix said playing somewhat dumb despite already knowing what he wanted to ask. Mike noticed Kendrox's hesitation as she shifted her weight from one food to the other. Carter by now was confused as he looked at his girlfriend and then at Mike; all the wondering what the hell was going on. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way Kendrix?" Mike said still looking at Kendrix. When Kendrix still didn't say anything Mike continued by saying "We can talk about this in the hall or we can talk about this in front of Carter. The opinion is yours to choose Kendrix?" Fear struck Kendrix right in the heart as she quickly glanced at Carter and then back at Mike.
Kendrix didn't want Carter to find out just yet I mean he's only just after waking up; their was no telling what he'd do once he heard this explosive news. "Mike!" Kendrix grimace "can we not talk about this now please!" Sighing rather loudly Mike shrugged his shoulders in defeat and said "Very well if that's what you want I respect your wishes. But just know this you can't keep this bottled up inside you. You know Carter's going to find out eventually." Kendrix nodded her head sadly as she and Carter watched Mike leave.
Once Mike was gone Carter said "Kendrix what did Mike mean by I was eventually going to find out?" "Don't worry about it now!?" Kendrix said rather quickly "You just woke up so don't worry about what's going on now ok." Carter reluctantly let it go for now but he was curious as ever what was Kendrix keeping from him. Silence settled in between the pair as Carter held Kendrix as close as he could; finally Kendrix said "she had to go." Carter was saddened by this because he missed having the feeling of Kendrix near him. "Do you have to go?" Carter half yawned and half whined.
Laughing Kendrix said " Yes she did because she needed to sleep too she also told Carter not to worry that she'd be back tomorrow to see him." As Carter watch Kendrix gather her things to bring back to her quarters or rather their quarters. "Can I at least get a kiss goodnight before you go?" Carter half whined. Kendrix laughed and said " Sure anything for my poor baby." She then leaned in and closed the gap between her and Carter with a heated but passionate kiss that caused both of them to groan. After the pair broke for some much needed air Carter said "Wow what a kiss!"
"I know you can say that again" Kendrix said. So Carter said it again "Wow what a kiss!" "That was a figure of speech you idiot!" Kendrix said laughing. "I know why do you think I did?" Carter said rather smuggly looking at his girlfriend. Slapping his chest Kendrix said still laughing. "God I love it when I make you laugh and smile" Carter said. Kendrix was doing her best to hold back another wave of giggles and laughter that wanted to escape. "Your such a sap! You know that" Kendrix said looking at Carter.
"But I am your sap" was all Carter said as he pulled Kendrix into another yet passionate kiss. After breaking the kiss a few minutes later the pair didn't know what to say. But after a few minutes Kendrix said this " Wow for a man who's been knocked out for a month you sure have a lot of energy." Shocked by this piece of information Carter said "I was knocked out and in a coma for a month!" Carter watched as Kendrix nodded her head to tell was she just said was true and that none of this was made up. "Please Carter don't ever scare me like that again. I thought I truly lost you and if I did I don't know what I'd do!" Kendrix sobbed into Carter's chest.
Carter did his best to comfort his girlfriend any way he could. He hated to see her sad so to turn her frown right side up Carter kissed her slowly for the third time that night. After Carter broke the kiss Kendrix said "Wow you really know how to cheer me up Carter." "I know I do" Carter said cheekily. Slapping his chest one final time Kendrix said "You Cheeky Bastard!" "But I am your cheeky bastard" Carter said playing along; not missing a beat Kendrix said "Yes you are."
"So what's in it for me?" Carter asked Kendrix. Kendrix knew where his mind was said "Get your mind out of the gutter already mister!" Kendrix laughed as Carter pouted at her and crossed his arms across his chest. Kendrix laughed even more as Carter said "Your no fun you know that!" Playing along once again Kendrix looked at Carter and said "You know that's not true mister and besides there's a time and place for everything; and what your thinking about isn't." "And beside Carter Kendrix said whispering in Carter's ear I want you to heal first after what you've been through thou. That way I can have my wicked way with you. After all we have to make up for all this lost time ummm wouldn't you agree Carter."
Carter hated it when Kendrix played him like this growling under his breath. Carter could feel himself getting rather hot down below; looking at his now smirking girlfriend Carter said "You definitely don't play fair you know that." Still smirking Kendrix kissed Carter on the cheek; and on the way to the door Kendrix said "Now all you have to do is erase all those dirty thoughts from your mind." "You know that's going to be very hard to do!" Carter said to his girlfriend's retreating form and with that Kendrix was gone. After making sure the coast was clear Carter looked under the covers and wondered just how he was going to get rid of this boner he had all thanks to his girlfriend Kendrix. God Kendrix to Carter was like a double edged sword he loved her and he hated her; and right now he hated her when she did things like this.
