Chapter 4: A living Nightmare

Warning: Major Character Death!
Before they left for Johto, Brock drove as fast as he could to Professor Oak's laboratory. Ash thought in worry, "I hope the Professor is ok, he is the one who protects all the Pokémon in town". As they arrived at the lab, they stood in shock, only to see it in ruins. The trio rushed out of the truck to find the professor. As they ran and searched the remains, Misty found a Pokémon egg lying on the ground, so she decided to keep it so it doesn't die.
Suddenly, everyone heard a small groaning in the rubble, Ash dug through the dirt to find Professor Oak all battered and bloodied. Brock and Misty stood in shock, as Ash grabbed the professor's body to check for vitals. "Is he…." Misty couldn't even finish her sentence. Suddenly, the professor coughed and his eyes fluttered open. "…Ash, is that you?" He asked. "Yes, Professor, I'm here." Ash replied. The professor turned to look and see Brock and Misty smiling at him being alive.
The Professor sighed greatly in relief to see his friends alive and well. "What happened here, Professor?" asked Ash. The professor then started to breathe heavy and shake uncontrollably, as he shook, he said, "Ash… Go to my office and get my journal, it will help you and your friends save the world…again", He then smirked at his own comment, despite his pain. "I will, sir" Ash said with tears in his eyes. The professor then took his last breath and closed his eyes. Misty then ran to Ash and cried on his shoulder. Brock yelled in anger and dropped to ground. Inside Brock, Something just snapped. He then grabbed one of his poke balls and smashed it with the butt of his gun.
Ash and Misty looked at Brock with worry and wondered what they got themselves into.
